Captain Darcena Reviews Town Defense Systems

[Raging Thrak, Trophy Room]

Tiny smudges of soot mar the fieldstones used to create the grand fireplace in this cozy room. A collection of plaques hangs above an immense grey marble mantel cluttered with trophy cups and bowls. Fashioned from a single stone slab, the hearth extends to an impressive black bear rug with its maw frozen in a silent roar. Several overstuffed wingback chairs, each covered in deep jewel-tone chintz, are scattered about the room. Against the back wall, a tall glass-front curio houses several ancient mementos and a thrak hide curtain hangs nearby. You also see a blue wolf that is sitting, the Gelek disk, the Ojet disk, a white-faced silver kit with golden stockings, the Pookia disk, the Sevanya disk, the Innez disk, the Tafkap disk, the Selanthea disk, the Briarson disk, a lazy wild midnight black dog, the Guarrin disk, a tiered marble-handled cart with some stuff on it, the Vulir disk, the Ekkyl disk, a basket of sticks, an intricately woven straw wastebasket and obvious signs of someone hiding.

Also here: Great Lord Ephram, Gelek, Ojet, Magister Raelee, Historian Darcena, Fulmen, Sevanya who is sitting, Pookia who is sitting, Oxhammer, Lady Innez who is sitting, Tafkap, Alosaka, Sir Geijon, Selanthea, Kayse, Briarson, Missoni, Kiyna, Amerek, Earlin, Satran, Town Councilor Leafiara, Sir Guarrin, Stormyrain, Vaemyr, Death Knight Warclaidh, Sir Cryheart, Mauss, Vulir, Ekkyl

Stormyrain says, "The situation is this, we have a large krolvin warfleet heading our way and by most accounts it should be here tomorrow. This conversation is to help us create some sort of a plan for how we will approach tomorrow's onslaught. With the understanding that we have to remain flexible and respond in the moment."

Stormyrain says, "I'd love it if Darcena could start off by discussing the different ways we can defend the town, outside of sword, board, and spells."

Darcena says, "Sure."

Darcena says, "We have multiple defense systems here in the Landing."

Darcena says, "And we have multiple locations as well."

Darcena says, "Usually I start out by making everyone sweat out in the Lower Dragonsclaw."

Darcena says, "It's good for you."

Darcena says, "But this time, in the interest of saving time because I have things to do tonight, I'm just going to give you a short verbal overview."

Darcena says, "First I'm going to talk about our aerial attack options."

Darcena says, "There are many locations around town that have windows, openings, or railings that you can peer over and fire your ranged weapons or your bolt spells."

Darcena says, "Because of their increased visibility, you can be away from the enemy but still make a difference."

Darcena says, "There are rooftops in town and also some towers."

Darcena says, "The rooftops are best accessible here from this inn or from Moot Hall."

Darcena says, "The towers include the mobile defense towers we can move around town as well as several permanent towers."

Darcena says, "You can also access the tops of the trees out in the Lower Dragonsclaw."

Darcena says, "This is great when the forest is full."

Darcena says, "You can access those tree tops from the roof at Land Tower West or from the Hendoran Outpost."

Darcena says, "You should familiarize yourself with the location of the Hendoran Outpost."

Darcena says, "Also on many of these towers are the ballistae."

Darcena says, "The ballistae use sharpened logs to fire down on the enemy."

Darcena says, "These also keep you protected from the enemy, so you don't have to be as burly as Muscles over there."

Darcena says, "You just load up the ballistae and then pull the mechanism to fire it. You can also peer down the ballista to see where it is aiming."

Vaemyr glances suspiciously at Fulmen.

Darcena says, "The ballista usually--"

Darcena glances at Fulmen.

Speaking to Vaemyr, Darcena says, "That's not Muscles."

Darcena says, "Anyway, the ballista usually take some time to operate. So it's great to work in teams."

Darcena says, "You can load up our ammunition on those towers ahead of time."

Darcena says, "That's where I make you sweat in the forest."

Darcena says, "You can either cut down your own logs and then bring them over to the towers to put on the pile..."

Darcena says, "No, that's the only way I know of."

Darcena says, "Okay, so there's another thing with logs though."

Darcena says, "That's the log traps out in the Dragonsclaw."

Pookia curiously asks, "How many do you recommend for a ballista team?"

Darcena says, "So when you have a log you've cut down or logs you've purchased from the General Store, you can string them up with rope from the General Store as well."

Hilts deeply asks, "Are we expecting them to come by land?"

Darcena says, "Three minimum."

Speaking to Hilts, Darcena says, "They sometimes land on Black Sands and come over land if they get past us."

Darcena says, "Other times they sail into town from the dock area."

Speaking to Darcena, Stormyrain asks, "What other styles of attack can be used from the rooftops and the tops of the towers and trees? Archery only?"

Darcena says, "Archery, bolt spells, and I think you might be able to do some other types of spells too."

Darcena says, "I don't stand up there and cast very often."

Cryheart says, "Pylons."

Darcena says, "So the log traps - if you want to do that, check in with me later."

Hilts deeply says, "I'm experienced with killing krol but not with how they attack here."

Darcena exclaims, "I haven't gotten to pylons yet!"

Darcena says, "Pylons and oil vats are next."

Darcena says, "Oh..."

Darcena says, "Have Storm tell--- I mean, Marshal Stormyrain tell you about the buckets after I leave."

Darcena says, "In case they set the town on fire."

Darcena says, "Okay, so pylons and oil.."

Wunhunlo says, "Ill bring marshmellows."

Darcena says, "The oil vats are at the different defense areas and mobile towers as well. Just like the aerial attack openings and the ballistae."

Hilts deeply says, "As long as they do not burn the docks."

Darcena says, "The oil can be acquired from the kobold mines, but check the vats first and see if they're already full before you make a trip."

Darcena says, "Once you've poured the oil into the vats and they're full, you can turn the vat over to rain destruction down on the enemies below. HOWEVER... It's oil, people."

Darcena says, "It's going to hurt anyone below." [OOC note: Leafi clarifies this later. This used to be true, but was slightly out of date.]

Darcena says, "Not just the enemies."

Darcena says, "So pick your time wisely before you roast Sir Cryheart over there."

Stormyrain mutters, "And it does hurt. A lot."

Darcena says, "He won't appreciate it, and I won't either."

Cryheart says, "Amen to that."

Darcena adds, "And I'm the more vicious of the two."

Opalina quietly says, "I like the idea of oil vats."

Hilts deeply says, "You can roast Candor or Toxana though."

Hilts deeply says, "Nobody will mind."

Darcena says, "The last thing I'm going to talk about is the pylons. This is my favorite."

Darcena proudly says, "I took down an undead kraken out on the seas on the way to Glaoveln with one of these."

Speaking to Fulmen, Darcena says, "Bigger than that one."

Fulmen says, "Well, krakens need a little convincing. They have bad eyesight."

Hilts deeply says, "It's nae the size of the pylon..."

Darcena says, "The pylons are usually located at the North Dock and on the Moot Hall Rooftop although you can find them sometimes other places, too."

Darcena says, "They're magical."

Darcena says, "So all of you who have some connection to the mental, elemental, or spiritual spheres... any connection at all... can infuse your mana into the cannon."

Speaking to Darcena, Kiyna asks, "Do ya gotta be magical to use 'em?"

Vaemyr asks, "Did the north dock one ever get replaced?"

Darcena says, "Then someone will need to pull that pylon around in order to aim it."

Darcena says, "That part doesn't take magic."

Darcena says, "And someone else will need to push the mechanism to fire it."

Darcena says, "That doesn't take magic either."

Darcena says, "But the infusing does."

Darcena says, "These pylons are very powerful and very effective."

Hilts deeply says, "Are the pylons s.a."

Darcena says, "I saved them for last because someone once told me people only listen to the last thing you say."

Hilts deeply asks, "Er, smart enough to not roast friendlies?"

In a perfect imitation of Darcena, from behind Darcena, a voice says, "Powerful unless you miss."

Darcena says, "This is where most of you who aren't very strong should be."

Aeith quietly says, "The north dock pylon appeared to be absent still, as of a few nights ago."

Darcena says, "It takes a considerable amount of time in order to aim and fire the pylons."

Geijon says, "I've seen a holy bolt fell a Vathor."

Darcena says, "And they take a lot of magical power."

Speaking to Aeith, Darcena says, "Thanks for the update."

Missoni raises her hand.

Darcena says, "So teams are usually needed at pylons as well."

Darcena says, "Yes, squire."

Pookia says, "We spoke to one of the archers in the mobile tower in town square, so i got a team for ballistas, but we need training."

Missoni asks, "Can the pylons be infused ahead of time? Say, before the battle?"

Darcena says, "No."

Missoni says, "Or does it need to be done each ti--"

Goldstr says, "Young magicers be good on Pylons."

Darcena says, "Good question, but not only are the pylons not always activated for use..."

Cryheart says, "Town council will hae to activate them." [OOC note: Darcena clarifies this very shortly afterward. My understanding is that Cryheart's comment would have been accurate in the case of the old NPC town council, but they've now become the NPC Stewards. The Steward of the Guard (AKA "Guard Captain"), in particular, would be most likely responsible for this storyline-wise. The PC town council, on the other hand, is essentially a new entity unrelated to the old one in any way but name and has no influence over town defenses. (...at least not to my knowledge.)]

Speaking to Missoni, Raelee says, "For one shot."

Darcena says, "But, they need to be infused between each time you fire it."

Darcena says, "Oh, another note."

Darcena says, "I probably should have introduced who I was."

Stormyrain says, "I did name you by name."

Speaking to Darcena, Kiyna asks, "You're Darcena. What more need there be?"

Darcena says, "I'm Ishan Darcena Wolf-Valslayer, and I'm your captain of the Wehnimer's Landing Militia."

Darcena says, "So on the note of the Militia..."

Darcena says, "We also have the ability to activate defenses."

Darcena says, "The militia does."

Darcena says, "So if you see that there's an incursion, let any militia member know."

Darcena says, "Alright, raise your hand if you have questions."

Pookia raises her hand.

Darcena says, "I know this was really fast and dirty, but I mainly wanted you to know what your options are."

Q&A Segment

Darcena points at Pookia.

Alosaka raises his hand.

Darcena says, "Go for it."

Leafiara raises her hand.

Pookia says, "We spoke to one of the archers in the mobile tower in the center square so i can put together a team for that ballista..."

Pookia exclaims, "We have enthusiasm, but limited training!"

Darcena says, "I started out with enthusiasm, limited training, and a powerful growl."

Speaking firmly to Pookia, Darcena says, "I am certain you will do great."

Stormyrain warmly says, "Outstanding. Heart will win the day in the end."

Darcena says, "Feel free to reach out to me any time."

Darcena says, "If you can't find my thoughts, send me mail."

Darcena says, "I'm happy to help anyone."

Cryheart says, "You might want to practice tonight."

Stormyrain says, "Good idea, Cryheart."

Speaking to Pookia, Darcena asks, "Do you have another question in there?"

Cryheart says, "Or gettng familiar with all the places, Darcena mentioned."

Speaking to Pookia, Darcena says, "And we appreciate your help. If you do have another question, go ahead and ask it."

Darcena says, "Saka, you're next."

Speaking to Pookia, Darcena says, "I'm practiced at answering like five at once."

Hilts deeply says, "If you're going to put a log through anyone, aim for me, I can take it... probably."

Alosaka asks, "Two parts. First, Just to perhaps clarify some rumors... we believe the Krol fleet is on the way in search of a formula of some sort for a spell or alchemical reaction that could destroy them in great numbers, or perhaps entirely?"

Darcena says, "That's not a question for me. That's a question for your town council."

Darcena asks, "Next one?"

Speaking to Alosaka, Stormyrain says, "That is what we have heard, even though I am not on the Council."

Geijon raises his hand.

Mauss raises his hand.

Alosaka asks, "My next question was contingent upon the answer to the first, but... If that is the case, perhaps we would be suited to present a strong defense, but also offer to the Krol to help them find this formula, and destroy it?"

Hilts deeply says, "Do we expect ships to be able to mount a defense? I sailed my new frigate up here and I'd love to splatter the deck with a few thousand krols."

Darcena says, "Definitely a question for the council."

Darcena says, "Leafiara."

Speaking slowly to Alosaka, Stormyrain says, "From the way they approached we will not have the chance to parlay."

Leafiara mentions, "Not a question, but circling back to something said earlier, the oil vats at least in the mobile towers had safeguards installed following an incident in mid-5120 and will no longer harm allies. If there are oil vats elsewhere, that I can't speak to." [OOC note: Basically, someone decided to use the mobile towers to grief TSC past midnight for hours on end. GMs closed the towers the next morning, then worked up a solution to have oil no longer hurt players before reopening them.]

Missoni whispers aloud, "I want revenge."

Speaking to Leafiara, Darcena says, "Ah, thank you for that update too."

Leafiara says, "As for Alosaka's question... the information from Falzcrow indicated as he stated."

Leafiara says, "He being Alosaka, that is."

Kayse indifferently reasons, "They failed to listen to negotiations in their tongue or common."

Leafiara says, "Whether one chooses to believe such is up to the individual, I suppose."

Speaking in Giantman to Guarrin, Darcena says something you don't understand.

Vaemyr says, "I'm not exactly excited about Parlaying with them either, people tried that who were kidnapped the other night, and they were murdered for it..."

Leafiara concludes, "That is all I had."

Darcena says, "Thanks Leaf."

Darcena says, "As to Hilts question..."

Alosaka says, "It is not my intent to derail discussions of the town's defense, only to possibly examine alternatives to what could be a bloody battle."

Speaking to Alosaka, Darcena says, "My job is to protect the town when danger is here. I understand what you're saying, but this is not my role and my time is limited."

Hilts deeply says, "Let them come, we'll turn em back as we've turned everything else back."

Darcena says, "I hope you can understand the compartmentalization here."

Darcena says, "So, Hilts."

Stormyrain says, "Any other questions for Darcena? I wish to honor her time constraint."

Sevanya raises her hand.

Darcena says, "I'm not sure that any citizen ship should be going up against the krolvin ships at this time."

Darcena says, "It also makes it harder for us to mount a defense, possibly."

Kiyna quietly says, "Battle is what they've earned with their actions, and what they came seeking from us."

Darcena says, "As our use of the pylons would have to be far more discriminate."

Stormyrain adds, "The krolvin ships were cloaked, the last time. It was impossible for us to find them--and we searched endlessly."

Darcena says, "I would hesitate to fill the Bay with ships unless we command you to do so in the fight."

Darcena asks, "Does that make sense?"

Hilts deeply says, "Aye."

Mauss raises his hand.

Darcena says, "Certainly try to clear out any you see between now and then."

Darcena asks, "Any other questions I may have missed?"

Darcena says, "Raise your hand if so."

Mauss raises his hand.

Darcena says, "And I see a lot of faces out there that I don't know. Feel free to find me later and introduce yourselves or send me mail and introduce yourselves."

Speaking to Sevanya, Stormyrain asks, "Did your question get answered?"

Mauss asks, "If we get dirty-ambushed and killed by Krol force recon, who should our ghost think to first to sound the alarm?"

Darcena says, "Stormyrain, Shinann, and then me in that order."

Aeith says, "Having ships in the harbor close by if needed can still be a good idea though, by the time it would take to sail to the landing from elsewhere it could be all over by then."

Mauss says, "Got it."

Darcena says, "But certainly think on the open realm channel as well."

Aeith says, "Docked in the harbor, I mean, not out at sea without order."

Speaking squeakily to Opalina, Bippins asks, "Many?"

Stormyrain says, "I am normally paying attention to the thoughts echoing in my mind unless I am in serious battle."

Speaking to Sevanya, Darcena asks, "Did I miss your question?"

Cryheart asks, "How many of you know there is a bell on the top of the west tower gate?"

Sevanya says, "Let's just say they get through to the town...if we're manning a ballista tower, should we be worried about firing into the town? Collateral damage and all."

Cryheart says, "To warn the town if there is an invasion."

Hilts deeply asks, "Isn't there a flare warning system as well?"

Speaking to Sevanya, Darcena says, "I don't believe the ballistae will pivot into town in a way that you have to be concerned about that."

A loose stone near Darcena trembles and shifts across the floor.

Stormyrain glances down.

Speaking to Sevanya, Darcena says, "You're welcome."

Geijon raises his hand.

Speaking to Stormyrain, Darcena says, "I've gotten too powerful that sometimes the flows around me ... affect the earth oddly."

Darcena says, "It's nothing to be concerned about."

Darcena reassures, "I'm still in control."

Darcena points at Geijon.

Speaking to Stormyrain, Vaemyr asks, "I assume we'll potentially be discussing how to split our forces as well?"

Stormyrain nods at Vaemyr.

Geijon says, "Worth discussing what we can expect to be up against Krol forces wise for a fleet like this."

Speaking to Darcena, Stormyrain says, "Thank you, thorough and informative as always."

Darcena says, "I'll leave that portion of the conversation to the rest of you."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Darcena asks, "Fill me in later?"

Speaking in Giantman to Guarrin, Darcena says something you don't understand.

Darcena says, "I believe all of you are capable of helping. Let me know later if you haven't found your niche."

Speaking gratefully to Darcena, Missoni says, "Thank you."

Historian Darcena stalks east, framed by a shifting, sourceless silver glow.

From nearby, you hear Darcena yell, "You've got this, Landing!"

Sir Guarrin Reviews Rally Points

Stormyrain says, "Next, Sir Guarrin will discuss rally points."

Guarrin says, "Gladly. Thank you Marshal."

Guarrin says, "As usual, we will need to reinforce the gates, given their weaknesses."

Guarrin adds, "Beyond that, I would suggest a group patrol the Black Sands and closer to the Docks."

Guarrin says, "Which would mean a total of four groups, potentially."

Guarrin says, "However, these krol, given their displayed skill with teleportation will likely be able to move more readily."

Blades says, "To knock over a dwarf."

Guarrin says, "So our options are, figure out a way to reduce their teleportation capability, which seems unlikely in such a short period of time, or add a fifth group to move freely in the streets."

Vaemyr says, "I suspect we may need at least some people able to respond to potential portals throughout the town, if they try to say go after our healers or triage areas."

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "If any still wish to hear the discussion on the defense of the Landing in front of tomorrow's expected Krolvin warfleet, we are still in conversation in the Thrak Inn, Trophy room."

Geijon says, "We'll have pylons and probably triage groups too."

Hilts deeply says, "Depending on the timing us Drakes will likely have a group out, we tend to wander."

Speaking to Alosaka, Dendum says, ""Hrmm he will want it the same reason humans want weapons capable of killing other humans...this is the way to be leader of Krolvin."

[General] Gutstorm asks, "How dat goin Shtormy?"

Cryheart says, "Clerics and healers should identify a few areas for triage."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Guarrin says, "Other than that, unless we can setup some of the log traps we devised for Mist Harbor, a harbor chain or blockade, these five groups will be our best bet."

Speaking to Guarrin, Stormyrain says, "Can you repeat them please? I was a bit distracted by...dwarves."

Hilts deeply says, "I wonder how many Krolvin ships we would have to sink in the harbor mouth to block that route in."

Speaking slowly to Hilts, Stormyrain says, "A lot."

Guarrin drones, "Two groups. One for each gate. Another for the black Sands. A fourth for the Docks. Finally a fifth group to sweep the streets for portals."

Speaking to Hilts, Traiva says, "The harbor runs deep."

Speaking to Hilts, Vaemyr says, "We'd have a better chance of freezing the whole bay again."

Hilts deeply says, "That's not a bad idea."

Stormyrain says, "Those groups that Sir Guarrin just discussed can be any makeup, but it is very helpful to have at least one healer among them."

Guarrin says, "There are other options, if we had more time and resources, that would help us focus their arrival upon the Sands."

Guarrin says, "Alas, it seems we have neither."

Kiyna says, "I always thought it'd be neat if we pulled the wool over on 'em. Make a big two-dimensional illusion of the Landing in the wrong spot coming in the from sea, so they, well, miss."

Bippins squeakily asks, "Why krobin tack?"

Hilts deeply asks, "There are tunnels from the sand, are there not?"

Bippins squeakily asks, "Still want find blue stuff?"

Guarrin says, "Aye there are."

Guarrin says, "However, we lack the resources to flood them or fill them."

Speaking to Kiyna, Pookia exclaims, "Genius!"

Hilts deeply says, "That complicates things."

Councilor Leafiara Reviews Triage

Stormyrain says, "Next Councilor Leafiara will discuss triage."

Leafiara greets, "Good evening again, all."

Aeith asks, "That brings up a good question, are we worried about the Krovlin infiltrating the tunnels under the town?"

Innez says, "I am now."

Leafiara begins, "Unusual circumstances merit an unusually nuanced conversation, as far as triage is concerned..."

Speaking to Kiyna, Vaemyr says, "Hmm there we go, we create a giant portal to Lich's Landing here instead of us, and let Barnom deal with them."

Leafiara says, "But first I'll cover the basics as a primer."

Leafiara says, "In an ideal scenario, triage is as simple as gathering the fallen and wounded into the town square, since it's one of the places that transportation magic can reach most easily. From there, we heal and raise as we're able."

Leafiara says, "Whether you're amoung the injured or a healer or cleric yourself, the ordinary etiquette you might be used to in town square triage often goes out the window in large scale battles."

Leafiara says, "This isn't anyone being rude, but merely as a pragmatic measure. When there are 20 dead and 20 bleeding out, it's often a rush to save lives as we can."

Leafiara wryly says, "And, yes, this is even talking about the relatively easier triage situations."

Speaking to Leafiara, Kiyna says, "Will try my best to not to be dead or bleedin' out, ma'am."

Leafiara says, "But, as mentioned by Sir Guarrin earlier, recently we've been compromised by krolvin portals--including in the town square."

Leafiara says, "Backup triage points are typically in two locations: the Voln monastery, which members can easily transport themselves and their groups to, and here."

Leafiara clarifies, "Meaning, yes, here. The trophy room of the Raging Thrak Inn."

Leafiara says, "Especially in the event that the sanctuary magic of the town square is broken, this is the nearest safe place accessible by all town defenders and allies."

Speaking to Leafiara, Traiva asks, "Have any other locations ever been considered?"

Pookia thoughtfully says, "Voln and here.. gotit."

Sallisto asks, "So, we're expecting an invasion tomorrow night?"

Speaking to Traiva, Leafiara says, "Not that I know of, but most indoor locations will work as well."

Vaemyr says, "The temple is sometimes used."

Leafiara says, "It's rare, though definitely not unheard of, that invaders attempt to breach indoors."

Speaking to Leafiara, Traiva says, "I am not sure how strong the mana here is, but there is a stronger focus in the Paupers Rose Garden, which is easily accessible to the Square and open to all."

Leafiara says, "Also, this all presumes the battle is... relatively typical..."

Leafiara says, "How to express this..."

Speaking to Traiva, Leafiara says, "The mana flow is high here too, but the garden is appreciated, thank you."

Leafiara says, "In a situation where our foe has skill with creating portals, it's possible that bodies won't end up where we'd wish they would."

Leafiara says, "Which goes to the Marshal's point at the start that we need to be flexible to respond as the situation changes."

Traiva reasonably asks, "All the more reason to consider some backup locations, no?"

Leafiara says, "In past battles, we've had foes dump corpses into Melgorehn's Valley, for example... or in one case allies taking the fallen inside Moot Hall."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Or the circle of stones."

Leafiara says, "So in this regard, I'd just say to listen closely to everyone's thoughts."

Leafiara says, "As the situation changes, those in the field will keep you apprised."

Sallisto asks, "Do we know when to expect this invasion?"

Speaking to Sallisto, Leafiara says, "Tomorrow night is the intel we've been given."

Mauss raises his hand.

Leafiara says, "As one last concluding point, I concur with Sir Guarrin that each battle group--however many that ends up being--ideally needs at least one healer in it." [Whoops, it was actually Stormy who said that... during Guarrin's portion of the talk.]

Leafiara says, "The leaders of each group will probably keep track of that, though."

Leafiara says, "Make sure you follow good ones. There are several in here."

Stormyrain says, "Thank you Leafiara."

Mauss inquires, "Would it mebbe be helpful to have an herb-runner crew? For when the empaths run low of their power?"

Pookia appreciatively exclaims, "Thanks for all the info!"

Speaking to Mauss, Stormyrain says, "Most will move to the town square for herb led healing."

Sallisto asks, "Do we know if these invaders are typically high train?"

Leafiara says, "Ah, normally simply sending mana is the most helpful thing in that scenario, but herbs as a backup can't hurt."

Leafiara says, "The herb bin is usually pretty full, though."

Mauss says, "I ain' got da mana skills, but herbs i can find. or buy."

Other Overviews

Cryheart says, "In some past invasion, there hae been some lower level zones."

Speaking to Sallisto, Stormyrain says, "They traditionally have a variety of types of fighting represented. Some are stronger fighters, and some are early in their training."

Cryheart says, "But there is no guarantee, so listen well."

Stormyrain says, "If you find that you cannot withstand the onslaught, however, remember that there are the towers and the pylons."

Stormyrain says, "And the rooftops, treetops, and such."

Cryheart says, "The tree."

Stormyrain says, "You stay relatively insulated in those spaces. The pylons less so, though."

Leafiara says, "An excellent point from Sir Cryheart. Keep an eye out for whether the less experienced looking town guards and such are heading to specific areas, if you aren't at the peak of your talents."

Sallisto asks, "Should we arrange to invade their lands after?"

Speaking to Cryheart, Eledryn says, "As long as it doesn't catch fire. I like that tree."

Speaking squeakily to Sallisto, Bippins asks, "Tack krobin land?"

Speaking to Sallisto, Stormyrain says, "We have, in the past. We took the pathogen that they're seeking the formula for to their shores."

Speaking to Sallisto, Kiyna asks, "That's how we got into this mess in the first place, isn't it?"

Cryheart says, "If ye run into trouble, run into a building or such..and announce on the net where the trouble is."

Stormyrain asks, "Alright, our time is running short. Is there anyone else who wishes to add to the discussion?"

Speaking to Stormyrain, Guarrin says, "If we can deploy the armigers. I would suggest upon the sands. Or in the tunnels below."

Hilts deeply says, "You call it a mess, I call it the prelude to a target rich environment which is one of my favorite places to be."

Speaking to Guarrin, Stormyrain says, "Speak to Amos. He is their boss."

Kayse lightly says, "I can maybe help with speaking to him about that."

[General] Gutstorm exclaims, "Everbuddiesh needsh a brudder like Dwi!"

Sallisto says, "I'm particularly looking forward to slaughtering some baddies."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Vaemyr asks, "Have we heard from Thrayzar about how the town guard is deploying?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Stormyrain says, "I have not heard. I imagine they will supplement whatever we are doing."

Cryheart says, "Oh, by the way."

[General] Directed to Gutstorm, Yardie asks, "But...Dwi's.....a lady?"

Stormyrain says, "They traditionally stick to the town proper."

[General] Dwi asks, "Wot!?"

[General] Peggyanne thinks, "Dwi is no lady."

[General] Gutstorm asks, "Wotcher point, Yappie?"

Cryheart says, "If the Hendor knights or soldiers come to help us, do NOT attack them."

[General] Peggyanne thinks, "Female yes... but no lady."

[General] Hilts asks, "Have you been looking Yardie?"

Guarrin says, "Oh aye."

[General] Peggyanne thinks, "And shes the best brother a person can have."

[General] Dwi exclaims, "His point is if'n he wears a hat..it wont show!"

Cryheart says, "Or they will attack ye."

Cryheart says, "To defend themselves, while they defend us."

Leafiara acknowledges, "He's not wrong, it's often been a point of confusion in the past for those unfamiliar with Imperial soldiers."

Commodore Jaysehn Advises on the Krolvin

Stormyrain says, "Alright if there is nothing else, we will close with Commodore Jaysehn."

[General] Directed to Gutstorm, Yardie thinks, "Err....that would make her your sis....I...I don't know how to answer this question if you don't know."

Leafiara says, "You might also see Bourthian soldiers since Larsya is currently in charge of the outpost."

[General] Zolis asks, "Are you causing trouble again, Yardie?"

[General] Crepe thinks, "It gets complicated with dwarves."

Jaysehn says, "I can assure all here my fleet will deploy into Darkstone Bay tomorrow, to help keep whatever the krolvin fleet brings away from the main fighting for as long as possible."

[General] Pukk exclaims, "Yardie is a spy and the king of the kobold alliance!"

[General] Hilts thinks, "Normally to get close enough to tell the gender of a dwarf they usually knock you out... or the smell does."

Jaysehn says, "For those who wish some practice on sea fighting...."

[General] Peggyanne thinks, "We are speaking of brother in a comraderee sense of the word... like a brother in arms."

[General] Gutstorm thinks, "Peggy got it."

[General] Dwi asks, "Wait...dey sell dat?"

Jaysehn says, "We will be taking out my frigate, the Onyx Eclipse, tonight. We gather in the Rusty Cutlass and depart in roughly thirty minuts."

[General] Directed to Peggyanne, Yardie asks, "...we?"

Aeith says, "I imagine the Krolvin will likely be attacking with just Krolvin forces, and not imperials or other races at their side, so that should hopefully make it easier to cut down on the confusion in a big battle."

Cryheart says, "Hopefully."

[General] Peggyanne thinks, "Aye... i just said that Dwi is the best brother a person can have... and Gutz made the original statement, thus we."

Goldstr says, "Dey bring Vathor an sech at times to eide them."

Stormyrain says, "Thank you all for coming."

Cryheart says, "Be careful of castin area effect spells, in particular if Hendor or Bourth soldiers come to our aid."

[General] Directed to Peggyanne, Yardie asks, "I also think sister in camaraderie works just....as fine? Wait, is this something that's often said that I've never heard of?"

Pookia appreciatively says, "Thanks again for filling us in."

Vaemyr asks, "Should we talk about what type of forces they might have?"

Jaysehn says, "Worth noting..."

Guarrin says, "And yes, if they do summon Vathor, be sure to communicate it."

Stormyrain says, "If you have any further questions you can contact any of us that spoke this evening, and we will do all we can to answer them."

Jaysehn says, "If you see a Krolvin Stormcrow. Kill it. Immediately."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Stormyrain asks, "Oh yes, I forgot, if you want to touch on that?"

[General] Peggyanne thinks, "I mean if you wanna be my sister in arms Yardie i wont contest that.... you got them perty girls eyes anyhow."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Vaemyr says, "Some of us have experiences last year from fighting a similar force."

Speaking to Jaysehn, Stormyrain asks, "And the why on that?"

Cryheart says, "We will need our strongest folks to tackle the Vathor or other ungodly demons."

[General] Gutstorm thinks, "Shishter in armsh ish an elf thing cuz ye all fenimininsh."

Stormyrain says, "That would be the why."

[General] Directed to Peggyanne, Yardie exclaims, "They're not girl eyes!"

Jaysehn says, "Stormcrows are their demon summoners. They can gate their forces directly into the town and summon demons, like vathor, to the fighting."

Jaysehn says, "Last summer...they came armed with ...claidhs." [OOC note: Referring to a Mist Harbor storyline.]

[General] Peggyanne thinks, "Yardie you are the prettiest girl boy i ever mets."

Jaysehn says, "The vathor, I mean."

Geijon says, "They roll in Champions and Warlocks too. This fleet seems to have some mentalists so we might get some different looks from them."

Kiyna says, "Never fought a demon before. At least, I don't think so."

Cryheart says, "If ye see a vathor or such in town, do note hesitate to announce it on the net, or yell as loud as ye can."

Jaysehn says, "Anyway...I must see to my ship."

[General] Gutstorm thinks, "Blade kinna pretty too."

Jaysehn gives a quick nod and tips his hat.

Commodore Jaysehn just went east.

[General] Directed dumbfoundedly to Peggyanne, Yardie thinks, "I.....I don't know how to answer that."

Leafiara says, "Sometimes we do need to drag living folks too, but... likely not in this case."

Cryheart says, "If there is no over running of dead bodies, aye."

Cryheart says, "Cause they can pile up quickly."

Leafiara considers, "...then again, if the krolvin start dragging away the living and we can interrupt... well, do so."

Speaking squeakily to Eledryn, Bippins says, "No worries. Bippin have secret weapon."

[Drakes] Svardin thinks, "Da ships likely have to be bashed open and with bolt spells. Fire boulders and acid work I tink."

Leafiara says, "Personally, I think we should split up militia leaders, knights, and town councilors."

Speaking to Bippins, Eledryn asks, "I'd ask what it is, but... then it wouldn't be so secret would it?"

Leafiara says, "Having said that, only one of those is within my control."

[Drakes] Gutstorm asks, "Ye mean dem Ballishtae?"

Leafiara says, "And even then only myself as a councilor and I can't force Chandrellia or Fahlo to agree to anything."

[Drakes] Svardin exclaims, "An bashin boats open, some stay in reserve to take on da idjits when dey rush out. Everyone should not be bashin!"

Speaking to Leafiara, Aeith says, "Perhaps there will be time tomorrow in the calm before the storm to organize as such."

Speaking to Leafiara, Eledryn asks, "If you agreed to anything would it really be a town council?"
