== Hunting strategies ==&lt;br /&gt;
Stone giants fall to the ground when killed, and can crush an adventurer in their path while doing so.  Disabling a stone giant and knocking it to the ground before killing it is wise. However, knocking stone giants to the ground can cause them to topple onto you.&lt;br /&gt;

While they do not have blood for Heal/Harm (1101), or bones for Bone Shatter (1106), they are affected by Empathic Assault (1110). Casting Unbalance on them will stop most of their attacks, and allow you to slowly drain their life.&lt;br /&gt;

In some rooms, [[Major Sanctuary (220)]] will misfire.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

The giants use lightning as a weapon, which fries the nervous system of the target, injuring or killing them.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Stone giants, like stone trolls, recover quickly from stuns.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It is possible to be a Master of Sweep and be unable to sweep a stone giant. Don&#039;t try it, as you will only end up on your knees and stuck in RT when the giant attacks.&lt;br /&gt;

Stone Trolls are completely immune to fire damage, and are not affected by the Bone Shatter spell. Although they lack blood, they are vulnerable to Empathic Assault and its cycles of damage. They are also fairly weak against the Unbalance spell, and other SMR attacks.&lt;br /&gt;
==Other information==&lt;br /&gt;
Stone Valley is not a bad place for group hunts. However, stone trolls can be extremely difficult to hunt solo, as they heal rapidly (meaning that if you don&#039;t kill them in one hit, they&#039;re probably going to recover swiftly and undo all of your hard work), they recover quickly from stuns, and they like to use [[Unbalance (110)]] when they&#039;re down, knocking you off your feet and into RT. Complicating stone troll hunts are the stone giants who, like storm giants, use lightning as a weapon (frying your nervous system and possibly killing you), and the wind, which can blow you off of Thanatoph, injuring or (again) slaying you.&lt;br /&gt;

Towering above you, the stone troll is an ugly, brutish looking creature.  Its marbled grey skin is covered with pocks and divots.  This lumpy grotesque troll grins maniacally at you, sending cracks and fissures across its face.&lt;br /&gt;

Stone Trolls are completely immune to fire damage, and are not effected by the Bone Shatter spell.&lt;br /&gt;

Stone Valley is not a bad place for group hunts. However, stone trolls can be extremely difficult to hunt solo, as they heal rapidly (meaning that if you don&#039;t kill them in one hit, they&#039;re probably going to recover swiftly and undo all of your hard work), they recover quickly from stuns, and they like to use [[Unbalance (110)]] when they&#039;re down, knocking you off your feet and into RT. Complicating stone troll hunts are the stone giants who, like storm giants, use lightning as a weapon (frying your nervous system and possibly killing you), and the wind, which can blow you off of Thanatoph, injuring or (again) slaying you.&lt;br /&gt;

Comprised of solid blocks of granite, the immense stone sentinel stands and moves very stiffly.  Each portion of its anatomy is chiseled in rectangular pieces with sharp right angles.  It is not apparent how this animated construct moves, or how it even stays together, but somehow it does both effectively.  The attacks of a stone sentinel carry the weight of tons of rock behind them.  Being in the path of one is not an experience to be recommended.&lt;br /&gt;

Make sure to have a way to fight undead in sentinel area.  The area has a lot of banshee as well as sentinels.&lt;br /&gt;

Finish off banshees quickly unless you can resist their screams...the bind effect makes sentinels much more dangerous.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If possible, cut off a sentinel leg then aim for body.  Sentinels do not die from critical blows so you have to do a lot of damage.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Casting Spirit Dispel will remove several protective spells, and make them easier to deal with. They seem to be able to cast while held by the Bind spell, but Silence will stop their spells. They are also affected by the Unbalance spell, as well as Empathic Assault. &lt;br /&gt;

Stone Sentinels are stun proof and immune to many death criticals.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

The original lore for the sentinels in the [[ICE age|I.C.E. Age]] is that they were one of the malevolent artificial constructs fashioned by the [[Empress Kadaena]]. Following the cataclysm of the [[First Era]] of the [[Shadow World]] history, they fell into disuse as merely dormant statues. They would later be adapted as sentries for the keeps and dark castles of evil powers. Other examples of such constructs include the [[Lesser vruul|Gogor]], [[Shards]], and [[Kaeden]]. While the sentinels in the game appear almost as simple as golems, they have an array of magical properties making them considerably more complex. It might be the case that [[Estrion]] was able to construct these himself rather than acquire them, thus explaining their crude appearance, as the pedestal void was apparently created by him but is a [[Lord of Essaence]] style portal. In itself it is an interesting point to note, with respect to [[Lesser vruul#Behind the Scenes|other]] game specific lore, that the ritual for opening a [[Avatar#Dark Gods|temporary]] unholy gate to Charon ([[Lornon]]) apparently [[Uthex Kathiasas|involves]] Lord of Essaence gate magic.&lt;br /&gt;

A large stone and iron gate blocks the entrance to the monastery flanked by a statue of a woman carrying a crystal staff and a set of crystalline keys facing a second statue of a kneeling young man bedecked in battle-worn black chain armor.  You also see a mottled grey hedgehog, some ambrominas leaf, some woth flower, a large fel tree and a polished marble bench with some stuff on it.&amp;lt;/div&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
