The '''Live Bait''' is a smuggler's cutter which makes regular runs between [[River's Rest]] and [[Solhaven]]. The cutter is captained by [[Knaydl]].

In River's Rest, the cutter docks underneath the drawbridge, which is through the patch of weeds. In Solhaven, the cutter docks at a pier in [[Marshtown]]. The ''Live Bait'' began these runs as a response to the destruction of a magical portal between River's Rest and [[Wehnimer's Landing]], in 5102.

In addition to their smuggling operations, Knaydl's crew also runs a small gambling outfit on board the cutter. The illicit cockroach races featuring the finest racing roaches in the lands... or so the shipmate who runs the races claims. Though, he also admits the "finest food" that he feeds them is little more then his week old rations. Gamblers might want to keep a wary eye on this shady character.

Passage for passengers can be arranged via [[Percy]] in the [[Stone Eye]] in [[River's Rest]] or via the locksmith's shop in [[Marshtown]]. Tickets are 1000 silvers, 500 for citizens of River's Rest. For a level 11 Dark Elf character on 2022/08/04 a ticket cost 4400 silvers.

The ''Live Bait'' makes the round trip between [[Marshtown]] and [[River's Rest]] roughly once per hour. Those with tickets can purchase a barrel near where the cutter docks that will allow them to make the trip while not logged into the game, similar to the waiting areas for the [[Glaesen Star]] and the [[Chronomage]] system. Purchasing a barrel will not speed up the trip; it only allows one to be boarded like cargo onto the ship. The person may crawl out of the barrel upon arrival in the destination town. If the person crawls out before the cutter begins boarding, a new barrel must be purchased. One can PEER out to see the location of the barrel.

For example, "A powerful hit" can occur on success margin 11 and above, but can only do raw damages of 32 through 34 if the success margin is 21 or above:

This effect also truncates the lower range, for example "A strong strike" can occur on success margin 6 through 60, but can only do raw damages of 17 through 19 when the success margin is 41 or above:

Raw damages appeared to be distributed symmetrically within any damage messages when taking the constraint of success margin into account.

*3 success margin with "A strong strike" and 19 raw damage

In all three cases the hobgoblin was lying down, which is something they do ambiently. Per [[Warding]], "If the target is incapacitated (for example stunned or immobilized), most spells receive +15 to effective warding margin.", so it would appear prone gives some incapacitated bonus for 702, although only +6 would be required to make all three successes fall within the bounds. For future data collection I will ensure hobgoblins are not lying down or sitting, which they also do ambiently sometimes.

It seems probable the splits are 67%/33% for the first tier and 33%/33%/33% for all others. This also lets us prove that the apparent duplicate crits are actually rank 0 crits, and the 1-10 range is actually 33%/33%/33% with rank 0 rank 1 and rank 2: between the three crits there are 20 cases where the success margin is 11+, and the lower crit damage appears in 0 of the 20. The rank 0 of the disruption table must be otherwise identical to the rank 1 except for neck and arms, which is not entirely academic since it slightly changes the expected crit damage, which for rank 0 requires us to adjust for frequency of body part hit, deflecting from 5 to 4.7 for rank 0.

Using the same unwounded character with the same skills and stats (18 First Aid 5 Trading 54 Dex stat 12 bonus 93 Inf stat 16 bonus), I tried skinning kobolds killed via 1101 under several conditions.

It is clear that using a dagger plays a massive role in success, though perhaps not with silvers (or perhaps kobold skins cannot be made to be worth more, or perhaps skins only begin to become more valuable when one is skilled enough to skin ~100% of the time). Kneeling does not add as much on top of this, but the effect is statistically significant (z=3).

The data was collected over several days, and there was no trend observed in average silvers per skin over time (linear regression of .00 * x + 11), and trial conditions were jumbled so that not all (for example) stance advance data was collected at once, then stance forward, and so on.

While 1101 leaves no wounds, kobolds can rarely attack each others and themselves. It is unlikely this happened more or less often depending on the conditions, and so hid or exaggerated any trends.

HOFMANN58D:

A carrion worm charges at a sea nymph!
AS: +39 vs DS: +10 with AvD: +26 + d100 roll: +69 = +124
... and hits for 4 points of damage!
Slight twitching in the sea nymph's arm.

This is a crit from the Unbalance table, but the damage type is listed in the table as Crush. It also has an AvD that does not match AsG 1 and for that matter doesn't exist on the chart at all, though the DF matches. Does anyone have clips of other Charge attacks?
