The short version of this event is that you get two power orbs (arcarium) and add vissi (cards) into them to add powers. Some vissi are mechanical, some are fluff. You can buy them or win them (for some). To get scrip to buy them, fishing is the easiest. There's also two other things you can do, but they're harder.

What you should do is go get the welcome box (ask the Maivaldius family retainer through the arch in [Nyessem, Orb Distribution - 36696] (u8400100) up at the top about 'welcome'), which has 10 free entries in it, plus other goodies.

Pick up your free offensive/defensive arcarium from the baskets east and west of the welcome box guy. You have vouchers for them in your welcome box--hold the voucher in hand and choose your arcarium.

Put on your two arcarium (aversaris / vangaris are offensive/defensive, and you can wear one of each). They have their own inventory slots now.

Take your 10 entries from the welcome box, walk around the Ring to do the '''daily quest''' (point at 5 tormented people) and get 1 more entry. Take your 11 entries and go fish 11 times (from the welcome guy: go arch, go stair, go south, go west, go arch, waggle pool a bunch), to get about 3k aevit (the scrip). Fishing pool area [Nyessem, Indigo Pools - 36683] (u8400501)" One entry for fishing is 10 pulls/waggles.

Then go buy 10x soul harvester vissi from the plinth in ([Nyessem, Primal Empowerment - 36699] (u8400105), which is NE of the welcome box guy). Put 5 in each of your power orbs (arcarium). That way, you end up with a quite nice T2 offensive soul harvester and a T2 defensive one for free.

Soul Harvester is pretty awesome.

There are other details, but this will get you going and set you straight for the main advantages. Also, fishing has a rare chance to give you the Wealth/Wisdom vissi that everyone wants.

You can sell back most of the stuff (except vissi) from fishing for extra aevit to the girl at the fishing entrance. Ask her about trade while holding it.

You can go one north of the welcome box guy and "ask the magister about redeemed" twice to make it so you can do the events using redeemed tickets (aevarch) instead of having to hold them in your hand. The room is [Nyessem, Testing Approach - 36701] (u8400103).
