Founding and Purpose
The Order exists for the purpose of upholding chivalric tenets while supporting the Turamzzyrian Empire, the Barony of Vornavis, and the Freeport of Solhaven.

The Order of the Azure Sun was founded in Ivastaen 5010 by the combined efforts of Aydan, Bristenn, Eahlstan, and Melorra to provide a haven for those whose roleplay incorporates the aspects of chivalry and service to the Turamzzyrian Empire.

In Phoenatos 5116, Baron Dunrith Malwind announced at public court the inclusion of the Order of the Azure Sun into the Tomes of Immuron. This inclusion formally identifies the Order as a knightly order and grants recognition by both the Barony of Vornavis and the Empire as a whole.

Oath
"I,
, pledge my allegiance in sound mind to the Order of the Azure Sun, and to the Turamzzyrian Empire and its lawful sovereign.

I swear to uphold the tenets of chivalry as set forth by the Order of the Azure Sun, in service to the Turamzzyrian Empire and her people.

To strive to act in a manner befitting a representative of the Turamzzyrian Empire, both at home and abroad.

To defend the Turamyzzrian Empire and her people from threats both foreign and domestic.

To my brothers and sisters of the Order of the Azure Sun, I pledge my life, my loyalty, and my sacred honor. On this honor, I swear to put the needs of our Order and fellowship before my own if ever conflict between the two should occur."

Insignia
The insignia of the Order is a fiery azure sunburst on a field of argent. In heraldic terminology it would be represented as Argent, a Sunburst Azure.

Joining
The Order of the Azure Sun does not take applications for membership. All members are expected to be on the lookout for potential candidates, particularly those showing interest or leaning toward the ideals of chivalry and the Turamzzyrian Empire. Should the rest of the Order agree that the individual has the potential we seek in a prospective squire, one of the knights will approach and offer the individual the position of squire. Squires who undergo roughly a year of instruction and training then become eligible to become full members of the Order of the Azure Sun.

The requirement that an interested party must come to the attention of a member of the Order places the initiative on the individual, but this is not intended to be a difficult matter. In general, the members of the Order of the Azure Sun would consider any degree of sincere interest to be worthy of notice and will act accordingly. Interaction with our members is a fine way to come to our attention as well as attendance of the Order's chivalric discussions and other events.

A Meeting Hall Organization ("MHO") is an organization run by the players of GemStone IV. Any group with a defined purpose which is open to new members and engages in activities which involve the greater community is eligible to form an MHO.

MHOs are run out of a Town Meeting Hall, which provides a location for member groups to meet as well as services that aid in the running of events and activities. Each Hall contains several reservable meeting rooms, a place to rent services such as food carts and themed tents, a shop to purchase unique group insignia and other supplies, and a private tavern. The Hall also allows groups to issue news items and event announcements. Some services are available immediately upon joining, others become available after time and demonstrated community involvement.

Aydan Mursilis is a human Knight Banneret of the Empire and a paladin of Lumnis who rose to prominence during the Solhaven Cataclysm.

Birth and Early Years
Aydan (b. 5081 in Phannus, County of Seareach is the third son of four children born to Cessa (d. 5115) and Luthar Mursilis. His oldest brother, Deren, followed in their father's footsteps to become a trapper. Alhin, the second oldest, underwent military training at a young age and is a respected member of Count Tramini's guard. Upon Cessa's passing, the youngest child, a sister named Lora, took ownership of the Southbend Bakery that was previously owned and operated by their mother. Of his three siblings, he has always been the closest to Lora, being similar in age.

Following an old tradition, the Mursilis family dedicated Aydan to the service of the Arkati soon after birth. Although the Daughters of Lumnis had abandoned Seareach by then, a small temple of Lumnis was still maintained by local clergy and gladly accepted him as their ward.

Adulthood
Upon Aydan's twenty first birthday, he was sent to the temple of Lumnis in Solhaven to serve as a temple guard. He eventually came to the notice of Sir Eahlstan Hjeldin, who took him as a squire and began instructing him in the ways of knighthood and chivalry. After a return from an assignment in River's Rest, Solhaven fell under the assault of nightmarish horrors from another plane. Aydan's efforts to chronicle and study the foes later resulted in the defenders deciding he was the perfect man to lead the defense. Despite his capable leadership throughout 5109, the effort was ultimately doomed to failure before it even began. However, countless lives were saved by the actions of the defenders he rallied to the cause, even as the town was consumed by a tidal wave.

After the restoration of Solhaven, Baron Dunrith Malwind took Aydan into his service as a Knight Banneret and commissioned him as Captain of the Vornavian Reserve. Not long afterward, a long-forgotten threat known as the Red Dreamer seemed poised to plunge the world in unending nightmare. A long struggle ensued, and though victory was ultimately achieved, the knight received a grievous wound to his soul that has yet to fully heal.

Almost three years were spent in the Barony of Riverwood, where he had hidden away to both recover from the wound and enjoy some needed peace. Tragedy struck in the year 5115 when his mother, Cessa, passed away. He returned to Phannus and after spending some time with his family, traveled north to Solhaven on a whim, to see how his old home and the north had fared after the War of Shadows...

Present Day
Aydan married Shannivar Mursilis (nee Devessi) in the autumn of 5111, who has remained at his side to this day.

He is currently the Adjudicator of the Order of the Azure Sun, a chivalric order that he and several others founded in 5110. His current focus, along that of the Azure Sun, is the furthering of Vornavian and Imperial interests in the north.

Description
You see Sir Aydan Mursilis the Knight Banneret.
He appears to be a Human from Seareach.

He is average height and appears to be an adult. He has grey-tinged deep celadon eyes and fair skin. He has short, slightly wavy dark mahogany hair shot through with lighter hues. He has an angular face, a straight nose and a neatly-trimmed beard. He has a wearied and hardened visage made more noticeable by the three faint scars on his left cheek. He is wearing a resplendent azure silken battle standard emblazoned with a gannet volant argent that juts over his shoulder.

He is holding a swept-hilt steel bastard sword in his right hand and a malachite-enameled golvern kite shield blazoned with a rising argent swan in his left hand.

He is wearing a pure gold Lumnis symbol enamelled with five conjoined circles, a hammered silver livery collar, a loose-fitting tanned leather duster, a suit of azure steel-banded platemail, a diamond-set green imflass ring, a leaf-etched kelyn wedding ring cradled in silver filigree, a kelyn-bound ebonwood scabbard, a polished leather belt secured by a diagonal shoulder strap, a pair of straight-legged tan trousers, a pair of golden spurs, and some cuffed brown leather boots.

Xinza is the eldest child of the Thalesse family of New Ta'Faendryl, and followed in the footsteps of six generations of eldest children by dedicating herself to the mastery of weapons and the study of magical theory to better protect her people. She surprised her classmates, and herself to some degree, by accepting a mocking nickname in stride and going so far as to have a pair of wings tattooed across her shoulder blades. While her vocal skills may be lacking, she dances through combat to the music of her three weapons striking true:

<prelog2>
a slender black vultite scythe

The deep ebon blade of the scythe sweeps outward in a cruel arc, and its cutting edge is deeply jagged in a pattern reminiscent of flaring feathers on an outstretched wing. The feather motif is echoed across the full length of the blade, delineated by a subtly raised texture along its slender curve. Soot grey leather wraps the join between blade and ebonwood shaft, partially overlapping a thin, inscribed plate of dull silver-grey metal set into the wood.
There appears to be something written on it.
<prelog2>
a blue-sheened rolaren sarissa

Bearing the stylized sweep and cut of a trio of pinion feathers, the asymmetrical rolaren spearhead is a glossy black sheened with the deep blue of encroaching night. A line of dull silver rivets joins the blade cap to a long shaft of slender black fel. Thin openwork bands of rolaren encircle the wood at intervals in subtle ornament, and an inscribed silver plate rests against the wood just below the rim of a flanged rolaren butt-spike. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.
There appears to be something written on it.

In the Faendryl language, it reads:
The head of the pike is forged of golvern the hue of dying firelight, the edges of the metal etched with a whorled pattern of feathers tapering down into nothingness towards the sharpened tip. Engraved into the widest part of the head is a crest of a tower over two crossed lances, the single word below it carefully struck out through skilled hammer work leaving the integrity of the weapon intact. An inscribed plate of contrasting invar has been set into the maoral shaft just below the reinforced join.
After graduation, she served as a bodyguard for a brief while before recieving an assignment to travel to the barbaric lands in the west. Rhythus Veranthe Faendryl had just released the secrets of rudimentary demonic summoning to the lesser races, and it was thought best that a few people should be sent to keep watch over the bumbling fools to help put down what horrors were inevitably summoned by mistake. That was in 5103, and by now even Xinza's Faendryl patience is being tested by what she views as the pettiness of short-lived lives. She divides her time between Wehnimer's Landing and Solhaven.
You see Xinza Thalesse Faendryl.

She appears to be a Dark Elf.

She is very tall and appears to be in the spring of life. She has narrow, slightly tilted dark violet eyes and dusky skin. She has cropped, tousled blue-black hair fading to a deep indigo at the tips. She has a thin nose and tall downswept pointed ears. The sharply angular lines of her face dominate her features.
She has a series of crimson steel rings in her right eyebrow, a tightly spiraled triskele tattooed in black on the nape of her neck, and a pale smooth bone stud in the upper ridge of her right ear.

She is wearing a thin silver choker suspending a scarlet pentacle on a field of grey, a glowing amulet, a dark grey leather weapon harness bound in silver, a high-collared scarlet leather longcoat, a bloused grey silk shirt with ruffled cuffs, some fingerless dark suede gloves, an intricate silver signet ring, a sleek grey brushed suede hip-satchel, some dusky grey silver-laced pants, and a pair of sharp-toed charcoal leather boots.

triskele tattoo: Simple in form, the monochromatic triskele is given interest through the significantly different design of each branch. Extending upwards to end just short of the hairline, the topmost spiral is inked a solid black, the shade rich and dark against her skin. In contrast, the lower-right arm is filled with a rough design of stone and rock. The final third describes an organic pattern that has several warps and shifts through the spiral's curve, elongating or foreshortening the shapes within it.

longcoat: Thin, butter-soft leather dyed a deep scarlet has been used to create this exotic longcoat. The angled front flap of the jacket fastens on the left side of the chest, broadly overlapping and secured by a single row of polished silver buttons. An intricate cutwork design trails down both sleeves and ends at the snugly fastened cuffs, exposing a lining of smoke-grey silk.

signet ring: The top of the ring has been flattened to allow the bearing of a formal crest. Encompassed by a gold frame is the stylized image of a nightingale perched below a scarlet pentacle on a field of grey. Seven interwoven sable tendrils curve along the inside of the frame, but do not break the thin gold line. Engraved down the left side of the band is a loop of unbroken chain, while the right is inlaid with a crimson droplet. Below the unbroken frame is a thin line of delicate script.
Shannivar was born to Lyndra and Beringar Shoati in an inconsequential little village in South Hendor. An impulsive child with more curiousity than sense, she was often fished out of millponds, streams, and other small bodies of water (as well as out of trees, thorn bushes, etc.) by her elder half-sister Siwas. Her father died when she was young, and her mother left her in the care of her half-sister while she went off to try and establish a new life for them somewhere with more opportunities and less memories. When Shannivar was finally brought to the Landing by her sibling after an ardrous journey she was confused and terrified to find that her new home was a charred, smoking ruin with no sign of her mother anywhere. Left in the care of the temple clergy, Shannivar learned about her mother's faith and eventually joined their ranks as an initiate.

Unable to master the art of literacy well enough to memorize the rote magic the temple initiates were taught, she found that she was able to overcome the problem through a natural talent for coaxing the local spirits to produce the required outcome. Divine magic, however, posed its own problems when she was unable to comprehend the written rites and patterns. As such, Shannivar reverently draws on Lorminstra's divine influence in the world to give power to her clerical spells, and her strength waxes and wanes with the seasons as Winter grows closer or is left behind.

Shannivar is married to Sir Aydan Mursilis of the Order of the Azure Sun, and resides primarily in Solhaven when they aren't back in their homestead in Helt. She is holding a swept-hilt gleaming eonake sabre in her right hand.

She is wearing a curving gold filigree earcuff, a choker of flat gold discs interlaced with a black grosgrain ribbon, a shoulder-pinned cloak of heavy aureate silk, a quartered white and gold surcoat over a coat of rosette-linked mail overlaid with articulated cast silver plates with an austere sable wool gambeson underneath, a delicate white gold wedding ring cradling feather-etched mithril, an emerald-set red bronze ring, a gold-bound glossy mahogany scabbard, a slim pair of side-laced charcoal kidskin leggings, and some atrous steel-plated ringmail knee-boots lined with white rabbit fur.
Engraved lines of intricate silvery scrollwork reach from a pommel of faceted onyx, adorning the golden plates that form the guards of the hilt. Falling in heavily draping folds to end just below the wearer's knees, the pristine white linen of the surcoat is embellished along all edges with heavy gold thread. The second and third quarters of the garment are filled from one edge of their border to the other with complex goldwork of an interlocking design of keys and laden mournbloom vines. The surcoat is secured with a thick, braided cord of sable silk, its knot and tassels hanging at the hip opposite from where a sheath would be.
Surcoat:
Falling in heavily draping folds to end just below the wearer's knees, the pristine white linen of the surcoat is embellished along all edges with heavy gold thread. The second and third quarters of the garment are filled from one edge of their border to the other with complex goldwork of an interlocking design of keys and laden mournbloom vines. The surcoat is secured with a thick, braided cord of sable silk, its knot and tassels hanging at the hip opposite from where a sheath would be.
Siwas Devessi is a human empath. She enjoys well-brewed tea, bothering the people of Solhaven, and brooding.

Background
Siwas was born to an unmarried young human named Lyndra in a small village just across the river from the Wyrdeep Forest in South Hendor. She was raised by her mother and her aunt Neiva until Lyndra married a local woodcutter named Beringar years later. She and her half-sister Shannivar arrived in Wehnimer's Landing mere weeks after the end of the first Griffon Sword conflict to find their mother dead, their aunt missing, and the city in shambles. Leaving her much younger sister in the care of the Temple of Lorminstra, Siwas turned her attention and energy to using her untrained healing skills to support the two of them.

She was engaged for a time to a follower of Sheru, Setzier vonEvenlore. After a particularly bad argument she followed him to the slopes of Aenatumgana to mend things only to find that he had decided to ask Draezir, the High Priest of Sheru, to remove his ability to love and offer it to the Jackal as a sacrifice. On hearing this and realizing that not only had it been requested, it had already been done, she turned and went alone higher into the mountains. It's unknown what happened there, but when she returned to the Landing she was somewhat distant and more subdued than before. Though few knew it at the time, the touch of Mularos had seized her heart up on the mountainside and to this day has not let her go.

The Second Griffon Sword War
History came full circle a year or two after that, as the Griffon Sword was shattered anew and the avatars of the Dark Alliance came to the Landing. Maintaining her privacy about her faith was no longer an option once she followed the prophet Ulstram to Teras Isle and laid claim to the alabaster hilt of the Sword herself, betraying all those with him to death at the hands of V'Tull's army in the heart of the Teras volcano as she fled with her prize. For a very long time she begged Eryael, the High Priest of Mularos, to take the hilt from her, but he refused. It was not until a mob of angry, starving townspeople led by a mad priest of Lorminstra came for her one night, burning her alive at a stake on the Hangman's Bridge of Solhaven, that she was able to free herself of the burden. As Eryael came for her after the execution, spiriting her body away to be tended to, he showed her a swirl of darkness deep inside the pure alabaster of the hilt. He told her it had been placed there by the dark feelings of those who had killed her, and explained that this was why she had been required to bear the burden for so long. Eryael marked Siwas with a distinctly-patterned scar across the back of her neck, a sign of the favor of Mularos. It is a constant source of pain to her, as fresh now as the moment it was done, and occasionally bleeds anew.

Current Wherebouts
Siwas travels a good deal through the Turamzyrrian Empire, seeking out small cults of Mularos and helping them to flourish as she quietly fulfills her Arkati's wishes. She does her best to keep herself unseen and unheard of by the local officials of whatever province she's in at the time, and is gone long before the occasional corpse is discovered.

Appearance
You see Siwas Devessi the Martyr.

She appears to be a Human from Hendor.

She is average height and appears to be an adult. She has almond-shaped, deep cobalt blue eyes and dusky sepia-hued skin. She has shoulder-length, lustrous black hair worn in a multitude of elaborate, narrow braids secured with small silver beads. She has an angular face, a narrow, slightly upturned nose and slender wrists.

She has a thin scar tracing a delicate pattern across the back of her neck.

She is wearing a thorned incarnadine blossom, a set of brass hoop earrings with shattered sapphires wrapped in copper and silver wire, a ruby Mularos symbol, a high-collared sleeveless bodice crafted from a tightly wound length of black silk, a wide bronze cuff embossed with a row of concentric circles, a low-slung deep carmine belt, a shimmering black satchel, some silk-lined black leather pants, and a pair of sleek soot black half-boots.

The Griffin Sword itself is a powerful tool gifted to Lorminstra, to be wielded by her champion, Morfell. The four priests of the Dark Alliance, however, convinced Morfell to give them the sword in exchange for prestige and power, hence, beginning the first part of the Griffin Sword Saga, often called The Griffin Sword War.

The Griffin Sword War
When Morfell handed the sword over to the Dark Alliance, the sword split itself into four parts -- one for each of the High Priests. Each of the high priests were defeated, in time, and the four shards of the sword were recovered. The sword was reassembled, placed within a stone, and would impart blesses to those who would rub the stone until it was destroyed again, in the second Griffin Sword War.

The Second Griffin Sword War
The Griffin Sword was to be Purified by a Prophet of Lorminstra and his guard, named Ulstram and Kendryth, respectively. During the purification process, the four priests of the Dark Alliance returned to claim the sword given to them by Morfell. The High Priest, Morvule Thinevael, delivered an ultimatum to return the sword, or the they would lay waste to the town of Wehnimer's Landing. Ulstram responded by drawing the sword from the stone and attacking Morvule with it. Durring the battle, the sword shattered, spreading itself across the world, beginning the second Griffin Sword War.

Recovery of the Shards
The shards were found individually in various locations throughout Elanthia. The first shard, the hilt, was found by Siwas Devessi on the Isle of Teras. The second shard, the quillions, was found by Alisaire Frey in Solhaven. The third shard, the pommel, was found by Maimara Andriatti in the catacombs of Ta'Illistim. The last shard, the blade, was found by a merchant who attempted to sell it to the highest bidder before Ulstram imprisoned him within his own mansion, disallowing him from profiting from the blade. Eventually Ulstram received the blade and battled Zerroth, Eryael, Draezir, and Morvule. Morvule possessed the other three shards, and crafted a blade to combat Ulstram. Eventually, Ulstram struck Morvule down... but Morvule returned and slayed Ulstram, and the other three high priests were found to be in good health.

The end of the Griffin Sword Saga
The Dark Alliance recovered all four pieces and worked to finish it. Morfell was to wield the blade as he was originally intended to, but the priests had to remove any "taint" that Morfell might possess. Eventually, Charna Ja'Varrel'Kav was given a sickle by the Triad of Gosaena. Armed with a powerful sickle, confronted Morfell after the process was completed. When Morfell attacked Charna with the Griffin Sword, the blades contacted, destroying the sword and causing the sickle to age rapidly. The sickle lost its powers, but the sword was gone forever.

:;Fash'lo'nae
:* You raise your white ora no-dachi. You gain a moment of clarity, and you realize just how to make good use of this white ora no-dachi.
:* You thrust your arm high into the air and feel a cold determination filling you. Ebony lights glitter with golden speckles as they rise from the hilt of your weapon towards the tip of your sledgehammer. Several golden shields break through the ebony surface for a moment before the sledgehammer is consumed in darkness. Your sledgehammer resonates loudly for a mere moment then the light bursts into a shower of ebony and golden sparks that shower down around you when you lower your sledgehammer.
When the snake reaches the tip of it, it melts slowly into it without a trace.

:;Imaera

Lore Song
As you begin to sing, your vision clouds over and a scene unfolds before you. The image of a scarred dwarf in white leathers laboring deep in a dark, dank mine, grunting as he extracts precious white ora ore.

As you continue to sing, you can see the dwarf laboring over a hot iron forge. He mops his brow continually as he pumps the bellows then returns to the anvil, coaxing a weapon from the white-hot metal. As he hammers again and again with a perfect eonake forging-hammer he looks more and more pleased with his work. He now and again sticks it into a trough filled with a shimmering oil. After a few more minutes of hammering, he begins to look unsatisfied with his results, and then suddenly tosses it back into the fire. "I can do better than that, for Eonak's glory!"

As you continue to sing, your inner vision once again focuses on the scarred dwarf, carefully polishing the (WEAPON) before handing it to an imposing priest. His raiment is of the finest quality, from the magnificent cloth-of-silver cope, his bejeweled miter, and gleaming amethyst on his hand marking him as one of the ecclesiastical hierarchy. He sets the weapon on the altar and cries, "In the name of (BARD'S DEITY), I consecrate this weapon."

As your song comes to an end, you see the (WEAPON NOUN) being used in combat training in the monastary. A burly dwarven acolyte rains down blow after blow versus an obviously overmatched elven clark. Finally, the white ora awl-pike bursts into flames and sets the elf's shield alight! He cries out, "The day is yours M'laird Dwarf. I prostrate myself to your superior skills and must atone for my lack." He glances at the knotted scourge on the training wall and grimaces.

Miracle allows a Cleric to BESEECH his or her patron deity for a miraculous raising of oneself, costing 50 mana. Using Miracle, a Cleric is able to call forth the spiritual servants of his or her patron deity to provide a temporary Minor Sanctuary in the room. When doing so, the same rules for creating a Minor Sanctuary apply, except that the failure rate is greatly reduced by the help of the deity's spiritual servants. Training in Spiritual Lore, Summoning also helps to reduce the failure rate.

Once the creation of the Minor Sanctuary is successful, the Cleric is immediately brought back to life with full Health and Spirit Points; yet all wounds remain.

Training in Spiritual Lore, Blessings also provides a chance that a Chrism-like effect (Tier 4 of the Holy Receptacle spell) is placed on the Cleric prior to the resurrection. Starting at 2 ranks the chance is 5%, with a max affect of 90% at 189 ranks.

Only once every 24 hours is a Cleric able to muster enough spiritual strength to successfully use Miracle. Although, with dedicated training in Spiritual Lore, Religion a Cleric is able to use Miracle more frequently. At 60, 125 and 195 ranks of Spiritual Lore, Religion, a Cleric gains an additional use of Miracle per day. For example, a Cleric with 125 ranks of Spiritual Lore, Religion can cast Miracle three times per day.

Be forewarned, mana points are not recovered while dead, so it may be wise to keep a reserve of mana while adventuring in especially dangerous locations.

Note: Using the BESEECH command at any other time will not cost the cleric 50 MPs.
Messaging
General
;Non-aligned messaging:
:First Person: You feel a tingling at the edges of your perception and the air comes alive with a feeling of raw power. You sense something greater than yourself tugging on your spirit. As the power grows in intensity, you feel it draw you closer to your lifeless body and you marvel as it ushers your spirit forward. An extremely bright nimbus floods you as your spirit sinks into your body, which begins to fill with life.
:Third Person: Tingling on every nerve, the air comes alive with a feeling of raw power. Prismatic lights play through the air and hover over the prone form of Cleric. As the power grows in intensity, the energy begins to tug and move at her clothing and the air grows warm. An extremely bright nimbus forms around her and then slowly seeps into Cleric's body.

The chrism-like benefit gives the following messaging:
:You get an increased feeling of well being.

Messaging that you've already used up your allotted Miracle casts per time period:
:You realize you've already requested a miracle from your deity recently and you're left with nothing but a hollow hope of being saved.

God-specific Messaging
;Amasalen
:Silence descends upon the room and a double-headed serpent slithers to you. Each of its heads moves of its own accord, and slit-pupiled eyes take in everything as they wind a sinuous path up your prone form. As it reaches your chest, it lifts its heads up high and begins to sway from side to side in a hypnotic pattern. "You have learned the ssssacrifice issss everything, now we ssssacrifice oursssselves sssso that you may teach otherssss," the one head says before striking the other head at the neck. In one swift, painless bite, the head is severed and the open neck falls upon you, its lifeblood draining into your mouth. Moments pass as the ferric taste of the serpent's sacrifice fills you, and then suddenly it disappears.

;Charl
:First Person: As the air stirs, you feel your spirit drawn to the heavy scent of the ocean and feel a deep sense of peace. Clouds move into the area, their murky depths heavy with rain unshed and you can see lightning dancing within them. The pressure builds all around you until suddenly, the heavens release dozens of slender blue bands of lightning. The lightning fills your body with its energy and the very air around you seems to tingle with it. Moments later, the lightning is gone and the clouds soon follow.
:Third Person: Laden with the scent of the ocean, a wind moves through the area drawing with it dark clouds heavy with rain. Lightning dances in the murky depths, outlining the edges of the cloud with its blue glow. Suddenly, lightning strikes the ground around the prone form of Cleric and dances across his skin. Seconds pass while you remain under the glow of the electrical ballet playing out upon Cleric, and then slowly the clouds disappear, taking the lightning with them.

;Eonak
:Odd whirls and metallic clangs herald the arrival of a dwarf crafted entirely of bronze. The strange, mechanical man moves with jerky movements to a position beside the prone form of Cleric and begins to tinker with his appearance and clothing. At first, nothing seems to come of the strange bronze creature's meddling, but slowly color returns to Cleric's face. Steam billowing from its ears, the metallic dwarf straightens and teeters from the area, dissipating as it moves.

;Gosaena
:First Person: Stealing all sound as it travels to you, a soft zephyr gently caresses your skin and you sense the frigid brush of final death near at hand. A tug on your spirit heralds the arrival of impossibly long feathers in shades of white, grey, and black, as they appear before you and coalesce into a beautiful insubstantial being. It lifts you up into its arms and you feel as if you have found home in its embrace.

:Wings that you did not notice before unfurl to cocoon you for several moments before you feel the chill air depart and all at once the feathery figure is gone. A rain of feathers falls around you, each dissipating seconds before it touches the ground.
:Third Person: Stealing all sound as it travels, a soft zephyr gently sweeps through the area turning the air frigid. Impossibly large ethereal feathers in shades of white, grey, and black, drift in and are carried to the prone form of Cleric. At once they converge into a beautiful insubstantial being. Kneeling beside Cleric, it gently lifts him into its arms and cradles him there for several moments.

:Lowering its feathery forehead to Cleric, the being unfurls a pair of pale wings and creates a cocoon around him. Suddenly, sound returns, dispelling the ethereal being and creating a rain of feathers, each dissipating seconds before it touches the ground.

;The Huntress
:First Person: Filling your spirit with a deep anger, a long discordant horn blast drowns your senses and sets your lifeless flesh to vibrating with its wild call. An enormous hunting hound bearing an angry look of focus bounds towards you. You feel its front paws forcibly slam into your chest and watch the beast disappear deep within you with the cry of a wild hunt falling from its parted lips. Slowly, the sound of the horn echoes into silence.
:Third Person: The area comes to life with the defiant call of a long discordant horn blast. An enormous hunting hound bearing an angry look of focus bounds into the area and launches itself at Cleric. Slamming forcibly into her chest, the beast disappears into her with a cry of a wild hunt. Slowly, the sound of the horn echoes into silence.

;Imaera
:Time stills around you, and you feel your spirit drawn forward by a pale ethereal light which quickly transforms into a translucent woman. She moves to your side and withdraws two crimson oak leaves and an acorn from her basket. You hear her soft prayer as she places the leaves upon your eyes and presses the acorn past your lips. She turns her eyes to the sky, her arms rising in supplication, and then lays her hands briefly on your chest. Instantly, warmth floods your limbs and the woman returns to the pale light.

;Kai
:Large and ethereal, rectangular talismans rise from the ground to form a ring around your lifeless form. Each talisman is carved with a different word and glows with a brilliant light. One by one, the talismans tumble into you. As the first falls upon you, you are filled with a deep sense of Honor, the second reminds you of Valor in battle, and the third causes your spirit to surge with Hope, while the fourth binds you with the strength of your Faith. The remaining two tumble into you simultaneously and, in a flash of white light, you absorb them all.

;Koar
:Creating a myriad of colorful whorls in the air, a flock of small rainbow-winged lizards swirls towards you and you are filled with a deep connection to them. Diving and darting, they cavort above your corpse in an intricate dance that is breathtaking to behold. As they dance, their wings shimmer and shed multi-colored sparks that rain down upon your body. With each spark that alights upon your flesh, you are filled with a tingling sensation that draws your spirit deep into your body. The aerial display ends in one final loop and the rainbow-winged lizards dart off into the distance, only to wink out of sight a moment later.

;Leya
:Your spirit feels a sudden stirring in the air above your lifeless body and moments later a brilliantly white owl appears out of nowhere. It spreads its wings and you hear the audible crack of the air as they expand, lifting the owl in a lazy spiral above you. The bird's unblinking gaze falls upon you and you feel a deep connection with it before it gives three mighty beats of its wings and surges high into the sky and disappears.

;Lorminstra
:First Person: Distant and echoing, the sound of keys jingling strikes a familiar chord within you as it precedes the sound of a heavy metal gate slamming shut. Pale snowflakes drift through the air and settle upon your lifeless body. As the snow accumulates into a thin, chilling layer, you distinctly hear the somber voice of a female speaking softly in your ear. "The gates are closed to you for now, my child," she says, and several moments later the snow seeps into your skin, leaving you chilled and damp.
:Third Person: Distant and echoing, the sound of keys jingling precedes the sound of a heavy metal gate slamming shut. Pale snowflakes drift through the air and settle upon the lifeless body of Cleric. The light dusting covers her form, obscuring it from sight for several moments before the flakes melt away leaving Cleric's clothing damp.

;Luukos
:First Person: Punctuating the sudden calm of the area, the sound of slithering is quickly followed by a long, sibilant hiss. Winding a sinuous pattern to your head, an impossibly large copper-head snake with emerald green eyes begins to hiss at you. "There are more liessss to sssspread, and deathssss to ssssteal," it says, and then swiftly raises high into the air to gaze down at you. Faster than the blink of an eye, the serpent dives into your chest and disperses into a shimmering green mist that seeps into your skin.
:Third Person: Punctuating the sudden calm of the area is the sound of slithering quickly accompanied by a long, sibilant hiss. Moving in a sinuous pattern towards Cleric, an impossibly large copper-head snake with emerald green eyes slithers to a position just above his head and begins to hiss inches from his ear. Moving swiftly, the serpent raises high into the air and dives its head into his chest, disappearing into a shimmering green mist that seeps into his skin.

;Marlu
:First Person: Dark clouds swirl across your prone form and the area is plunged into darkness. The hair on your body stands on end and a deep pressure builds around your spirit, threatening to consume it. Blue lightning lances through the air, heralding an ear-shattering ripple of thunder, and at the edge of your senses you feel the demonic horde surging forward to take you. Each sizzling bolt strikes your chest repeatedly for several moments and the horde closes in on you until every last one of them is absorbed by your spirit.
:Third Person: Dark clouds swirl before the prone form of Cleric and the area is plunged into darkness. The thick scent of ozone rises on the air and causes hair to stand on end as a deep pressure builds. Blue lightning lances through the area, accompanied by a ear-shattering ripple of thunder, and in the shadows cast by its afterglow is the image of hundreds of demons lurching and struggling towards Cleric. Lightning strikes Cleric in the chest repeatedly, sizzling the air with every strike. As the lightning ceases, shadowy demons rise and dive deep into Cleric's chest.

;Mularos
:First Person: Wraithlike mourners suddenly slip free of the shadows and form a tight ring around you. Silvery tears slip from their faces to splash ineffectively against your lifeless body, and the blood that stains their white garments trickles in a splash across your face. They kneel in a tight ring about you, obscuring your view of the world beyond, and you feel a deep connection to them. "There is yet more pain to release," they seem to tell you before their lips part in a deafening keen of anguish that shatters their ethereal forms.
:Third Person: Wraithlike mourners suddenly slip free of the shadows around Cleric, their cheeks stained with silvery tears. Their white garments are stained in a variety of places with the deep red-brown of blood. Forming a loose ring around Cleric's corpse, they fall as one to their knees and obscure him. Together, they tilt their heads back and release a deafening keen that shatters their ethereal forms.

;Niima
:A playful feeling sweeps over you as a fuzzy pair of otters fills your vision. Clutched in their teeth are midnight blue mussels, which they hold tightly in place as they comically bounce and leap around you. They playfully paw at your lifeless chest, begging with their furry faces, and you sense they want you to come and play. As if sensing you cannot, they curl their sleek, wet forms briefly around your head and nuzzle against your neck for several moments. Then, they carefully drop the mussels upon your chest. A brief, child-like joy fills you as the mussels sink into your lifeless body, and the otters turn as one to slide out of sight on their slippery bellies.

;Onar
:Shadows slant across the ground as they slither toward you and a deep chill touches your spirit. As the shadows writhe in a thick mass of darkness over your body, you distinctly hear a quiet whisper in your ear, "This was not the death I had in mind for you." A flash of light tears across your vision as it is consumed by the image of a cracked white skull.

;Phoen
:Regal and proud, a broad-shouldered ethereal lion strides towards your lifeless form and you are filled with a sense of power and glory. As it moves towards you, its mane begins to shimmer with licking flames that resemble the rays of the sun. It lowers its gaze to you and you feel yourself drawn into their amber depths. The golden beast lifts a paw to your chest and a wave of warmth floods your limbs. As the light grows, the lion begins to dissipate into a golden nimbus that sinks into your body.

;Ronan
:The sounds of night drift to your ears and you feel a deep lassitude flood your spirit. At the edge of your vision the pale white beautiful image of a unicorn begins to take shape. It paws at the air, its silver hooves creating sparks of light that twinkle like a thousand stars. As it lowers the horn to touch your forehead you feel a deep sense of peace that intensifies as a silver nimbus blankets you. The unicorn and the nimbus disappear at once, and you feel yourself waking slowly from a dream.

;Sheru
:First Person: Shadows lengthen and grow around you until their edges are sharp and twisted. Macabre and ungraceful, they slink with jerky movements toward you as their depths are briefly illuminated by countless yellowed eyes set into the faces of a thousand horrors. They snarl as they writhe across your prone form, their maws snapping ineffectively at your flesh. One by one, they twist and squirm into your slack jaw and fill you with bitter madness.
:Third Person: Shadows lengthen and grow around the body of Zenogais until their edges are sharp and twisted. Moving in a macabre dance of jerky, ungraceful movements, the shadows become briefly illuminated by countless yellowed eyes set into the faces of a thousand horrors. Snarling, the shadows move across Zenogais's prone form and begin to snap ineffectively at his lifeless flesh. :Silver motes of light cavort upon the air, their movements turning into a twisted dance that is punctuated by the sound of dozens of laughing voices. Deep in your spirit, you feel a binding connection to their mirth. Converging above you, the light transforms in a slender crescent moon that begins to whirl. At one moment, full, and then the next, a sliver, the faster the moon spins, the louder the laughter gets. Suddenly, the light ceases all movement and explodes into a brilliant shower of silver sparks accompanied by laughter for several moments.

Sneezing powder is an item created by pures skilled in the General Alchemy subset of Alchemy. The vials uses the Thrown Weapons skill to activate.

If an attack with a vial is successful, the vial may do minimal damage, but also lowers the target's Attack Strength for the duration of the coughing fit caused by the powder. The amount of the reduction is dependent on the strength of the powder

The most difficult ingredient is the essence of fire, which can be found in the treasure system on fire guardians, fire ogres, fire cats, and various other corporeal fire elemental creatures.

Alchemy Formulas
Minor sneezing powder
Minor sneezing powder is one of the main Alchemy formulas that carries the alchemist through the middle ranks of General Alchemy. This recipe is learned at rank 34 and last works for repetitions at rank 51. Along with the minor luck talisman, it is one of the only recipes that people can use for BOIL task repetitions.

Assuming each essence of fire is purchased at the alchemist's consignment shop, the total cost for this recipe is roughly 5,000 silvers.

This item may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 35 times.

If the attack is successful, the vial may do minimal damage, but also lowers the target's Attack Strength by 10 points for the duration of the coughing fit caused by the powder.
Major sneezing powder can be made by an alchemist with 57 ranks in General Alchemy. This formula will work for repetitions for the remainder of the alchemist's training.

It can be used by characters level 50 and over as a weapon via the HURL verb and causes the target to sneeze if the attack is successful.

Loresong
Your voice resonates slightly against the waraxe, causing vibrations in tune with your song. As your song synchronizes with the waraxe, the metal begins to glow brightly. A faint image of a hot forge, a dark dwarven smith working over it, comes into focus.

As you continue to focus your song on the waraxe, the images begin to come clearer with each note sung. The smith begins to strike a hammer against the blade of this waraxe, causing sparks to fly from its molten steel. He then plunges the blade into a vat of water, and steam fills the image in your mind.

As you continue your melody, the steam fades, and a dark elven priest enters the forge. The priest touches the hilt of the waraxe, and the blade seems to instantly cool down with a sudden hiss, beginning to take the shape of the waraxe which you are now holding in your hand.

The priest's lips seem to move faster as the shape of the waraxe responds to his touch. The Khanshael smith bows deeply as the priest's words vibrate the waraxe into shape. Suddenly, the vibrations end, and the priest hands the waraxe back to the dwarf, then quickly steps back and vanishes into thin air. The smith smiles to himself, hefting the waraxe then sliding it into its sheath. He bows, and then fades into the darkness as your vision returns.
