A Spore Bow is a script for Ranged Weapons that emits harmful and hindering fungi dust and spores. It was introduced at the Bloodriven Village shop, The Fairy Ring in February 2023. Its different unlock tiers open up new abilities, some of which are passive/automatic, while others must be manually activated.
|tier= Tier 1 <!-- REQUIRED: Must be entered as Tier # or Tree (Name) -->
|itemsummary= An off the shelf spore bow has access to several basic features. Spore Flares, Spore Burst, Spore Expel, and Symbiosis In addition to flares, it releases stacking spore bursts that lower the defenses of your foes, it has an effect that spreads to 1-5 targets upon death of an affected foe, and it empowers your spellcasting in mushroom-friendly terrain via Environmental Symbiosis. Its ambient messaging can be turned on or off via PROD.
Spore Flares and Spore Burst
Spore Flares leave a stacking debuff of -5DS/-3TD on any corporeal foes. This debuff can stack up to 5x before triggering a Spore Burst, doing direct damage to the foe. This flare rate is higher than the standard 12.5% for runestaves.

This is a pre-resolution flare with level penalties akin to that of Dispel (If your foe is 11 levels over you, there is a 10% chance of a trigger flare's failure, per level over yours, until a 100% failure at +20 levels.).

<prelog2>Nebulous blue-black tendrils curl from your nightwillow yumi, enswathing a triton brawler in a shroud spangled with luminous twilight purple spores.</pre>
Spore Expel
Creatures that die under the effect of the spores will spread the spores to up to 5 additional creatures in the room, carrying 1 stack of the debuff to those creatures.

<prelog2>A shan cleric expels a cloud of luminescent spores into the surroundings.
A dusty haze carries countless glowing spores to a shan wizard.
Symbiosis
Symbiosis - +3CS/+5AS when in specific terrains.
<prelog2>Energy flows through you as the lilac-swept amethyst deceiver mushrooms on your yumi coax power from the symbiotic environs.</pre>

TOCright
Each town has a dyer's tent where simple items can be taken to change their colors. Many colors are available in multiple, or even all, of the dyer's tents, while others may be available only in one. Upon a time, the dyer was a single travelling merchant with a tent which showed up only from time-to-time; although there are now a variety of permanent locations, the traditional terminology has remained.

In order to dye an item, the adventurer must purchase a vial of sample dye (500 coins each), selecting the desired color from those available. Then, approach the dyer's tent clerk (usually found in the center room or near the entrance except in Solhaven at Midrian's Dyes, in which case it is east of the entrance, through a door, and then in one of the three stalls) while holding the vial of sample dye in one hand and the item to be dyed in the other. Then they must ORDER the service, at which time the clerk will inform them if the item can or cannot be dyed, and if it can be dyed, what the result will look like. There is the choice to walk away or confirm the order, and if confirmed, the item is immediately altered to its new description. All magic metal weapons and armor will keep the metal in the description.

Sample dyes can be stored and transported for later use.

A number of dyes can be made via alchemy. They are listed below in the column marked ALCH. No clerk is needed to use alchemy-made dyes. Some can be made as early as General Alchemy rank two, while others are taught later.

Dyes from the tent can be converted into alchemy dyes to work with dye additives by using the ORDER BOTTLE command at the clerk. These dyes can also be used with cobbling uppers. Dyes bought from the cobbling locations can be brought to the local dyer's tent and also be converted into alchemy dyes using the same command at the clerk.
<pre>>order bottle
A disgruntled clerk snatches the dye out of your hands and stomps off, momentarily returning with a new vial to thrust into your hands. A disgruntled clerk grumbles, "There! Be careful wid dat. Iff'n ya ruin yer stuff, dun come runnin' ta me wid da cleanin' bill."</pre>

Locations
* Cysaegir: Fluttering Myriad, up the steps down the footbridge from Pebble Pathway
* Icemule Trace: Our Colorful Place, in an enameled wooden door on Porter Street (S, S, and SW of the Thirsty Penguin)
* Kharam Dzu: Rainbow Tent, a small dingy tent in the Poor Quarter on the west side of town (Apply dyes at Lich #14816, buy dyes at #14831)
* Mist Harbor: Isle Dyes, a white stucco shop one south of Wisteria Crossing, Lich #16323
* River's Rest: a small bamboo cottage off the Shady Trail on the way to the Jungle (Lich #16175)
* Solhaven: Midrian's Dyes, a colorful tiled building on Changeling Lane in South Haven
* Ta'Illistim: Dalmyre Dyeworks, a small warehouse on Glimaer Wey one northwest of the movers
* Ta'Vaalor: Ta'Vaalor Dye Wares, a door of golden oak on Gaeld Var (southwestern portion of town)
* Wehnimer's Landing: Reignbeau Caverns, a rainbow colored tent at West Crossing (eastern part of town, near the bridge, Lich #252)
* Zul Logoth: Multicolor Mushroom, a giant multicolored mushroom in the Crystalline Cavern, Lich #1004 both in Plat and Prime

Kraken's Fall doesn't seem to have a dyer's tent yet.

Colors
X=dyer's tent, C=Cobbling (if the color is not immediately visible when using ORDER, it is in the backroom)

Icemule Trace and Wehnimer's Landing both have two cobbling shops with dyes. Dyes located in the cobbling warehouses are typically in the backroom, which is easily attainable by purchasing 100 pieces of chalk for less than 100 silvers each.

Dyes from the cobbling warehouse will NOT work on player forged weapon pieces. The dye tent won't recognize the dye, and pouring the dye manually empties the dye, but gets no results.
Dressed to kill, the bandit appears rather able to take care of himself. The menacing predatory look in his eyes expresses both greed for wealth and a disdain for life. However this otherwise ordinary person came to an awful life of crime, the bandit's appearance can only mean his next plundering victim is just around the corner, and then he'll move on down the road.

Hunting strategies
addmetext
Other information
Killing a certain number of bandits are a task given out by the Adventurer's Guild. Bandits also trouble those protecting a traveller for the Adventuerer's Guild. These bandits generate to the level of the hunter. Bandits more than ten levels above a character will ignore that character unless attacked first.

Bandits have also been present in storylines. Notably, the bandits were responsible for kidnapping the mayor of Wehnimer's Landing.

Dispelling Crystal
Bandits can throw crystals at you that will dispel several spells if they hit. They often do this as an opening attack from hiding or when they are having trouble hitting you with their regular attacks. This is a SMRv2 roll.
<pre>
Suddenly, a tiny shard of jet black crystal flies from the shadows toward you!
The crystal shatters against your body and releases a pulse of anti-magic!
You feel a slight tingling as the shimmering field fades away.
