Severnus Aviligne Faendryl

Severnus Aviligne Faendryl is a High Magus of the Basilica Tower, which is a chancery building, the chancellery headquarters of the Clerisy in New Ta'Faendryl. Severnus is a Basilican sorcerer, and thus a member of the Rachis, below Malevort Hexmor Faendryl the Arch Chancellor of the Clerisy. When he is on duty as a High Magus, Severnus is responsible for monitoring breaches in the veil, where "wards" exist on the veils of various specific valences. These include Shieltine's Ward on Lorae'tyr, and wards on the known Ithzir valences, which are called the Scattered Worlds.
Storylines
Severnus was on duty as High Magus in Eorgaen 5103 Modern Era when the Basilica Tower detected the invasion of abyran'ra demons into Ta'Illistim from a breach of Shieltine's Ward. This was caused by a student, Rhythus Veranthe Faendryl, who was attempting to demonstrate the safety of demonic summoning. When he accidentally brought in abyran'ra, without having control, the abyran'ra were able to bring through more of their kind and wreaked havoc. Severnus went to Ta'Illistim with a squad of Palestra to put down the demonic incursion, but the Illistim guards captured Rhythus Veranthe before Severnus could apprehend him. This turned into an international incident, with the Illistim trying and beheading Rhythus Veranthe themselves.
The Illistim Argent Mirror, Queen Myasara Illistim, sent his severed head "with love" to Patriarch Korvath Dardanus Faendryl. Statements were exchanged where the Illistim claimed their sovereignty had been violated, and House Faendryl was responsible for the actions of their misguided student. The Basilica retaliated by spreading a Common language abridgement of the Enchiridion Valentia throughout the continent, after which sorcerer guilds began cloaking minor demons in illusions to subvert local laws against demonic summoning. This was the release of knowledge of how to perform minor demonic summoning to the general population of sorcerers across the continent of Elanith.
Severnus was the High Magus on duty again in Eoantos 5125 Modern Era when a massive shock wave in the veil was detected. The Basilica Tower was still trying to triangulate its origin when an eye witness, Thagoria Vespiria Faendryl of the sorcerer guilds, unexpectedly reported Ithzir invaders in the Darkstone Bay region as well as shadows from most likely the Shadow Realm valence of Althedeus. These were not Ithzir from the known Scattered Worlds. When Severnus learned that the cause of it (a soulstone interacting with the mana storm of Melgorehn's Reach) was indicating the survival of a lost Palestra Blade in the Shadow Realm after more than ten years, Severnus used his influence to get Thagoria a direct audience with Archchancellor Malevort. Within a week Malevort responded to the situation by having Thagoria widely distribute a more powerful method of the sorcerous Sacrifice ability, through the sorcerer guilds, related to this soulstone having been depleted of shadow essence for ten years.
