==Additional information==

* The altar must be on the ground before its devotional verbs will activate.
* Dropping the altar temporarily records the character who placed it. For the following eight hours, only that character can retrieve it normally.
* The janitor can still collect a dropped altar during its protection period.
* After eight hours, any character may pick up the altar.
* Using a devotional verb removes the character from hiding.
* The item may be altered, including its base, long, and show descriptions, but must remain a suitably sized '''altar''' or '''shrine'''.
