Whispering the first name, "Saereth," the book pulsed with a faint silvery light and shuddered slightly but failed to open.  However, when she whispered the second name, "Maerion," the book pulsed brightly and fell open in her hand.  Quickly turning to the front page, Alawien read the title, "The Veythorne Glowbark: History and Study" but for a brief moment, the words "Bound by Ink and Blood," were visible beneath it but they quickly faded away.  Flicking through the book, Alawien noticed that some of the pages had come away from the brittle binding.  She carefully removed the loose sheets and pocketed them, replacing the book back on the shelf where she found it.
