'''Simple Seams''' is a line of scripted clothing with small, fidgety self-adjustment verbs, such as tugging at fabric, smoothing a crease, or swaying a hem. There are four garment patterns: skirt, cloak, shirt, and pants. Each pattern has its own verbs, and the garment must be worn to use them. The line also includes '''Tailor's Snips''', which can add a Simple Seams pattern to a plain, unscripted garment. The collection was introduced in the shop [[:EHShop:Scabiosa's Simple Seams|Scabiosa's Simple Seams]] for the 2026 [[Ebon Gate Festival]].

* This was a player-submitted idea on the Ebon Gate request form.

{{TOC limit|3}}

==Skirt==
The skirt pattern works on skirts, dresses, chainses, chemises, kirtles, gowns, and petticoats.
===Analyze===
<pre{{log2}}>You analyze the plain linen skirt and sense that the creator has provided the following information:

Simple Seams - Skirt

Introduced at the Ebon Gate Festival in 5126, the plain linen skirt responds to small, fidgety self-adjustments while worn.

Available Verbs: PULL, PUSH, RUB, TICKLE, and TURN

Alterations:
You may alter the plain linen skirt freely so long as the noun remains skirt(s), dress, chainse, chemise, kirtle, gown, or petticoat(s) so the messaging still reads correctly.</pre>

==Cloak==
The cloak pattern works on capes, cloaks, coats, greatcloaks, jackets, mantles, overcoats, and robes.
===Analyze===
<pre{{log2}}>You analyze the plain linen cloak and sense that the creator has provided the following information:

Simple Seams - Cloak

Introduced at the Ebon Gate Festival in 5126, the plain linen cloak responds to small, fidgety self-adjustments while worn.
Available Verbs: DISMISS, PULL, RUB, and LEAN

Alterations:
===Verb Usage===
{{VerbTableStart |header1= Verb }}
The pants pattern works on breeches, leggings, pants, and trousers.
===Analyze===
<pre{{log2}}>You analyze the plain linen pants and sense that the creator has provided the following information:

Simple Seams - Pants

Introduced at the Ebon Gate Festival in 5126, the plain linen pants responds to small, fidgety self-adjustments while worn.
{{Table end}}
==Tailor's Snips==
Tailor's Snips add a Simple Seams pattern to a plain, unscripted, wearable garment. {{boldmono|FLIP}} the snips to cycle through the four patterns (skirt, cloak, shirt, pants), then hold the garment in the other hand and {{boldmono|CUT}} it. The garment's noun must match the pattern showing on the snips. Already-scripted garments are refused.

The snips start with 5 cuts, and each successful {{boldmono|CUT}} uses one. Once they go dull, they can be recharged with a spool of waxed tailor's thread, which adds 5 cuts. Snips with unlimited cuts do not need recharging.
===Analyze===
<pre{{log2}}>You analyze the pair of slender steel snips and sense that the creator has provided the following information:
Simple Seams - Tailor's Snips

The slender steel snips will add a Simple Seams pattern to a plain, unscripted garment, giving it small fidgety self-adjustment verbs.

FLIP the snips to choose a garment type: skirt, cloak, shirt, or pants. Then hold the garment in your other hand and CUT it. The garment's noun must match the type showing.
