Sufferer's Lady, Sorrow's maid. 
Sharp dagger that pierced the heart, 
Deep blues eyes in saddness fade, 
And from her faith she will never part. 

I met her down on Haven Bay, 
Her face framed in dark clouds. 
In the market, she did not stay, 
Hiding from the angry crowds. 

I followed her to the Inn, 
My feet and heart went out to her. 
She hid from that angry din, 
Who begged her from path deter. 

A little piece of metal, 
A tiny piece of faith. 
A present for lone petal, 
Left her much the wraith. 

My heart went out to this woman, 
Who was only a child of her belief, 
I had seen her once before this all began, 
Before the blind named her thief. 

Sufferer's Lady, Sorrow's maid. 
Sharp dagger that pierced the heart, 
Deep blues eyes in sadness fade, 
And from her faith, she will never part. 

I met her down on Haven Bay, 
Her face framed in dark clouds. 
In the market, she did not stay, 
Hiding from the angry crowds. 

She was alone that first day, 
While in the shadows I sat, 
She thought I would betray, 
Or pounce like mouse to cat. 

She was very nervous. 
And kept her face to me, 
I was merely curious, 
And asked her not to flee. 

I showed through my home, 
To find what she had sought. 
And as these streets we roam, 
She seemed to me distraught. 

With rose in hand she smiled, 
It was the first of hers I'd seen, 
And warmed me, Haven's child, 
That she might feel serene.

Smooth dagger that pierced the heart, 
Deep blues eyes in sadness fade, 
And from her faith, she will never part. 

I met her down on Haven Bay, 
Her face framed in dark clouds. 
In the market, she did not stay, 
Hiding from the angry crowds. 

The day had passed into night, 
And as summer faded away, 
Haven was brought to the fight, 
And she returned to our bay. 

The priests, they did haunt her, 
The town turned baleful eye, 
And let their children taunt her. 
Under our heavy, sodden sky. 

I tried to raise my voice, 
I tried to keep them calm, 
But in the end, it was their choice, 
And anger their only qualm. 

I wept on Sorrower's shoulder, 
Ashamed by my home and town, 
As in the embers, she had smoldered, 
In their hatred, she would drown.

Deep blues eyes in sadness fade, 
And from her faith, she will never part. 

I met her down on Haven Bay, 
Her face framed in dark clouds. 
In the market, she did not stay, 
Hiding from the angry crowds. 

In flames, she stood, as their taint turned her black, 
Painfilled tears traveled down her face, 
Her faith was given ground, in their muddy track, 
Then the sufferer called for her embrace. 

If I would have been there, 
I'd have burned for her that day. 
But who am I to come and tear, 
The kiss of faith that would not stray. 

Gentle as the kindest doe, 
But wrapped in winter's ice. 
A barrier against more woe, 
I guess it's sufferer's price. 

To me, she is the soft sunlight, 
A victim of cruel sword's play. 
And by her, I would do right, 
As my friend, I hope she'll stay.

And from her faith, she will never part. 

I met her down on Haven Bay, 
Her face framed in dark clouds. 
I hope my friend she'll stay, 
If she can find room, in her lonely shroud.
