Stationery paper or writing paper is part of the stationery system. It is the "original" form of writing paper that was released alongside stationery signets and wax, which were introduced by GM Itzel via the merchant Periope. Stationery paper can be FOLDed and then sealed with the appropriate wax and signet. Identical stationery paper can be stored inside of a stationery box. Perfume can be POURed onto stationery paper to impart a brief scent (the abbreviated "notes" of the perfume which can be previewed via smelling the bottle). If perfume has been applied, those notes will be smelled when the folded stationery paper is OPENed.

A single sheet of stationery paper has a maximum character limit of 511 characters. Paper can be adjusted via DRAW to display text in either the default font or as a fixed width font. Fixed width font is intended to support ASCII art to ensure that it always displays properly. To write using stationery paper, hold the paper in one hand and any writing implement in the other and use WRITE <paper>;<message>. Carriage returns can be added manually by inserting "|" for each line break. Two "||" are needed to create a space between paragraphs. Stationery paper can also be addressed to a recipient after FOLDing the paper shut. This address can be READ without opening the paper. Unlike the contents of the main part of the letter, the address cannot be CLEANed and has a shorter character limit. That limit is not yet confirmed but is at least 250 characters.

Stationery paper can be written in any known language. Use SPEAK <language> before writing anything to set the language for the entire sheet of paper. Languages cannot be changed midway through a single piece of paper. Mistakes made when writing on stationery paper can be fixed by using CLEAN, which clears the entire written message, allowing the paper to be reused indefinitely. Stationery paper can be destroyed via TEAR, which does not prompt for confirmation. This turns it into a handful of confetti. Stationery paper can be made via an OTS Papermaker.

Stationery paper is different from mail paper, which utilizes the mail system.
Analyze
<prelog2>
You analyze the piece of parchment and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions.

The creator has also provided the following information:

You get no sense of whether or not the parchment may be further lightened.
