I do not believe there is reason to think this history was official, and various reasons to think it was not. The website copy even has an addendum at the bottom correcting a factual [[Reiver Invasion 1997|error]] in it, about the reivers having "refrained from raiding the Landing so far", which at that time had already not been true for months.
