The hexagonal granite keystone and its nearest neighbors are carved in intricate detail.

			You stand in the center of a broad plaza nearer the now-ruined commercial area of the bazaar. Along the eastern perimeter of this square is the pitiful, burnt facade of the slate-roofed Moot Hall, its usual official and social functions now suspended. Facing the square are the ruined husks of once-prosperous and fashionable shops. You also see a large wooden barrel.

			You stand cattycorner to the boarded-up entrance to Tykel's Arms. The outer walls of the once-prominent and impressive building are charred and blackened by fire. Further on in the heart of the square, you can see the heavily shredded canvas tents and stalls of the ruined main bazaar. The dilapidated and blackened form of multistoried wooden buildings frame the square

			The heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing lies in ruin, and the mighty oak tree that shades the area is slashed deeply in several places, many of its branches lying dead and burnt upon the ground. The ruined hulk of a well lies just to the north amid a pile of rubble and debris. Faint wisps of smoke still drift up from some of the blackened timbers scattered around the area.

			Charred facades of buildings and shattered cobblestones cover the drab ruin of the town square. The general store peeks out of the wreckage, the building still intact but heavily damaged and boarded up completely. You also see a shabby hovel and the general store.

			This corner of the square seems eerily still. Everything in the area is a study in ruin. Shattered and charred boards and bones lie scattered across the cobblestones. You also see an arrow and a cobblestone walkway leading up to a wrought-iron gate.

			The small park fills an old vacant lot behind a row of blackened buildings, the light from the square filtering through the passage to the north to illuminate the area in a shifting, unsteady glow. A weatherworn grey marble statue of a stocky human in pioneer's clothing overlooks the park, his stone hat slightly chipped and fire-charred and his right hand half-upraised as if it once held some now-missing object. Various shrubs lie burnt and lifeless on the cobblestones.

			This narrow alleyway passes crookedly between the scarred wood and stone walls of the surrounding burnt buildings, providing a gloomy byway from the busy road to the south to the ruin of a small park nestled in a small niche to the north. A canine skull lies impaled upon the broken shaft of a spear on the ground.

			A chilliness hangs over this gloomy part of town. A few discarded coppers lie amid a collection of bones around the ruined husks of shops. A small storefront seems to have survived the destruction, its walls blackened but boarded up. You also see the Cruull disk and an ornate wrought iron gate.

			In the midst of the ruined square, stretches the cobblestoned main bazaar, its serpentine lanes dotted with the ruins of hawkers' stands, most now blackened and destroyed. The faint scent of burned cloth and wood drifts through the nearly deserted lanes. Before you are the charred remains of the First Elanith Secure Bank, its doors blackened but functional.

			This corner of the square is dead and quiet, as a few dazed-looking townspeople mill about surveying the damage. The blackened husk that was once the Raging Thrak Inn is charred and abandoned, the ballads once sung within it no longer echoing through the streets.

			The charred form of a fireplace occasionally billows small clouds of dust from a spot away from the crowd in the tavern. Charred animal skins lie before the hearth, flanked on either side by clawed and raggedly ripped couches. Broken and blackened trophies of forgotten hunts line the burnt and stained walls. You also see a simple wooden wastebasket and a thrak hide curtain.

			The street, littered with remnants of battle, runs between the scarred northern wall and the central square that contains the main bazaar. The area is strangely silent, only the occasional hissing and popping noise coming from still-burning fires. Dark boards, their forms charred yet still intact, cover the doors of Cholgar's Bathhouse. You also see an arrow, an arrow and a ruined wooden rolton with a dilapidated sign on it.

			The road turns gradually at this point, winding through the ruined northwest corner of the city. The path continues along the blackened north and west walls, and another leads south into town. The scorched oak and modwir logs of the massive city palisade tower above you.

			This road is cluttered with debris and blackened timbers. To the north are the two charred spires of the land guardtowers, looking almost ready to collapse. Further north the ruins of the town gates are visible, no more than a pile of shattered and scorched wood. By the side of the road stands the boarded-up shop of Dakris the Furrier.

			Charred wood and timber lie scattered in a semicircle around the ruins of the town gates. Two charred and damaged towers flank the gates to the east and west. A faint smell of charred flesh still hangs in the air. You also see the Talantris disk and a wooden barrel.

			The tattered remnants of militiamen's armor lie scattered on the blood-stained ground. A heap of bones, so massive it blocks the way further north, is piled near the ruins of the town gates, a grinning skull set atop it in a mockery of life. The boarded-up form of a wayside inn stands near the massive gates, the rubble of battle strewn around its foundations. You also see an arrow, a kobold skin, a razor sharp bolt, a light crossbow bolt, a large bone wall, a ruined mud and wood barricade, a wayside inn and the wooden gates.

			[A Quiet Path]
			The trail here is littered with blackened remnants of battle. A huge siege engine lies toppled across the ground to the north, charred skeletons festooning it like grim decorations. The slightly scarred roof of Hearthstone Manor is visible just beyond the huge pile of rubble blocking the way toward it, a bit weathered but still looking intact. You also see a shaded path, a grey stone walkway, a roped-off clearing and a large bone wall amassed to the south.

The endless maoral panelled walls are unembellished save amber glaesine wall sconces, which are evenly spaced down the corridor, providing dim illumination. You also see a silver-traced door.

			Filled with shelves of old books and diagrams of historical battles, this hall smells of dust and old parchment. Illuminated by three narrow windows set side-by-side into one wall are several tapestries and frescoes that liven up the otherwise bare stone walls. Providing a means of rest and relaxation, comfortable couches sit back-to-back on the varnished, oak-planked floor. A polished brass plaque has been affixed to the wall.

			Several books of note stand out amid the dusty collection. The first is a work penned in an elegant script entitled, "Knighthood of Koar: The Mandate for Justice Through Strength." Also begging for inspection is a scholarly volume entitled, "The Effect of Sunfist Tactics on Today's Battlefield," and easily noticed on the shelf is a well-read, cerulean star-embossed manual entitled, "Northern Fury Training Manual."

			The first diagram is inked with a detailed grid map carefully marked with lines and figures. The second image is that of a map of Wehnimer's Landing, penned with a handwritten plan of action detailing a shield-wall formation designed to protect a small melee force. The diagram, when viewed as a whole, depicts a plan for the siege of Thurfel's Keep. Scrawled into the margins are warnings and strong words correlating high casualties and the importance of working as a team.

			A series of scenes show a giantman chieftain leading an attack upon a dwarven formation, though the battle appears to be a stalemate. Next, the chieftain and a dwarven hero are depicted sharing a handshake upon the field of battle. They are wounded, but stand tall as they revere one another, showing respect. Above them, the image of Koar watches them with a hopeful smile on his face. The scene after shows a young giantman receiving a weathered book and an ancient rolaren morning star from an old dwarf.
