The ancient ghoul master is a mass of blackened muscle in humanoid form. Striding boldly upright and with a determined gaze, the ancient ghoul master marches through the world of the dead, seeking the bodies of the recently deceased. Though, in fact, dead itself, its putrid breath reveals its consumption of a steady diet of decayed flesh. If none can be found, the ancient ghoul master is more than happy to cause the living to become the recently deceased.

Other information

They are an uncommon spawn in the burial mound, along with elder ghoul masters. They wield blackened claidhmores and wear blackened platemail.

The claidhmores and platemail are cursed. The elder ghoul masters wear blackened brigandine instead.

Behind the Scenes

Elder and ancient ghouls were added shortly before the expansion of the burial mound that was apparently based on "The Mound" like Shadow Valley. The premise is probably that ghoul masters become more powerful with age, like the lesser ghouls who were the victims of Ghoul Rot.
