The Written Word

[The Written Word - 25188]
Wave-edged, light maple frames decorate the sides of a carved ebony bookcase displaying a variety of writing utensils and other sundry items. A bookish elven clerk works tirelessly behind a dark maple counter, pulling sheafs of paper and covers from a cloth-lined chest. Occasionally, bits of torn paper float lazily through the air and land on the floor.
Obvious exits: out

On the counter you see:
Special [1]: a simple book binding press
Misc [2]: a neatly lettered note, a small printed placard

a neatly lettered note
I, Qaril, can create a custom journal for you. You need only to select a cover and a sheaf of pages from the bookcase. (Each completed volume will have fifty pages.) I can make five types of books (book, notebook, journal, volume, and folio), so be sure to ASK me about the one you are most interested in. Please note that only I can bind these papers into a cover. If you buy some, make sure I fix it up for you. If you leave Bloodriven Village before I've worked with them, they will be useless.

Some obscure details about my wares: Be aware when writing that the spoken and written word are closely linked. You must have a quill to write, but it need not be a quill purchased here. Inkpots are not necessary, as the pages have a magical element to them. You may erase what you've written by CLEANing the page. You may TEAR the page to *permanently* remove it from the book. PUSH, TURN, and FLIP will allow you to work with the individual pages.

In the cloth-lined chest you see: a sheaf of dark floral vellum, a jewel-inset rose gold suede cover, a sinew-bound black suede cover, a demon-branded greyed leather cover, a fang-strung pale snakeskin cover, a talon-clasped sable velvet cover, a thorn-tooled emerald leather cover, an obsidian rose jacquard cover, a branch-inked pale silk cover, a scarab-inset ashen nubuck cover, an aged leather compass-clasped cover, a slim burgundy leather cover, a sheaf of cat-edged paper, a sheaf of paw-inked paper, a sheaf of faded paper, a sheaf of lily white parchment, a sheaf of marbled vellum, a sheaf of silvered vellum, a sheaf of burnt vellum, a sheaf of bloodied parchment, a sheaf of sepia parchment and a sheaf of grid-lined parchment.
