Bloodletting Leech Jars were introduced at Ebon Gate 2019 Bloodlet It Go shop by the merchant Deloras. The leeches in the jar were a small random selection, and came with 1 leech pull per day. Merchant services were offered both to customize the appearance of the jars and leeches, as well as to increase the number of leeches that can be pulled on a given day. The leeches can be placed on oneself or another character and they suck blood from their victim while attached.

Analyze

Jar

You analyze your glaesine jar and sense that the creator has provided the following information:
~Bloodletting Leech Jar~
This jar holds leeches meant for bloodletting.
Currently, this jar can only produce 1 leech daily.
  Today, you've pulled 0 leeches.
You will find the following will do something special on this jar: WEAR, REMOVE, TURN, PULL
You can use INSPECT to see what types of leeches are available.

~Alterations~
The 15/15/15 and long description of this jar can be changed freely. A show is not possible.
Please keep in mind that the noun can change, but should be something feasible to have a lid and be made of glass (jar, bottle, etc.)
Special merchants can improve your jar in the following ways:
    * Add more potential leech designs that can be PULLed. (Premade)
    * Add a completely custom leech design that can be PULLed.
    * Increase the amount of leeches able to be PULLed daily to a max of 3.

~Customization~
  * Material Color and Type: transparent glaesine
Note: materials can only be glass, crystal or glaesine.
Description of the color should not make it seem completely opaque, as messaging indicates being able to see the liquid inside.
  * Lid: polished bronze lid
Note: this should be a 'lid' or 'top' of some sort.
  * Wrapping Material: twine
This is the interwoven netting wrapping/encasing the jar.

You get no sense of whether or not the jar may be further lightened.

Leech

~Bloodletting Leech~

This is a leech that is meant to perform bloodletting on yourself or other players.
*NOTE* This leech is temporary and will wither after 24 hours outside of its jar.
To attach it to yourself or other players, POINT the leech at yourself or others. (Syntax: POINT leech AT <player> OR POINT leech AT Person)
Other players will have to APPROVE this action.
Once attached, the leech will drain blood for a few minutes before detaching and falling to the ground.
You may REMOVE the leech prematurely, but this will destroy the leech.
You can also try to PINCH the leech or EAT it, if you even want to try.

Verb Traps

Note: Third person messaging is nearly identical and is only called out where substantially different.

ITEM VERB FIRST THIRD
Jar INSPECT (note, each jar has a random combination of leeches)

Wrapped securely in a latticework of twine, this jar looks apt to be worn on a belt.
It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of glass.
Swirling around in the murky liquid, you can just make out various types of leeches behind the transparent glaesine:
*1.* a squat moss green leech with prominent veining (Current)
2. a lissome indigo leech with an anguillid appearance
3. a skinny bright pink leech with a flowery rosette pattern
Type TURN jar TO # to select a specific leech.

TURN You rotate your glaesine jar once, letting the swirling murky liquid inside shift the contents within. Slowly, a lissome indigo leech with an anguillid appearance slides into view behind the transparent glaesine. Person rotates her glaesine jar once, letting the swirling murky liquid shift the contents inside.
WEAR With a deft hand, you attach your glaesine jar to your belt securely. It sways suspended in a netting of twine, the murky liquid visible behind the transparent glaesine sloshing slightly.
REMOVE Unwinding a loop of twine from your belt, you pull your glaesine jar free. The murky liquid behind the transparent glaesine sloshes around with the movement.
PULL Carefully unscrewing the polished bronze lid of the glaesine jar at your belt, you reach inside slowly, sifting through the murky liquid within. After a moment, you draw out a lithe purple leech with dark leopard spots, holding it gingerly between thumb and forefinger.
Leech POINT (can be pointed at self or another) Holding a lithe purple leech with dark leopard spots between thumb and forefinger, you reach out towards XXX, pausing as you wait for his approval.

(XXX needs to APPROVE the placement of the LEECH in the next 30 seconds.)

APPROVE You nod your head once in approval.

Reaching forward with the purple leech held tightly between thumb and forefinger, Person presses it against the skin of your wrist. After a second or two, a lithe purple leech with dark leopard spots latches on firmly and Person lets go, letting the leech hang in place.
While worn:

  • A shudder passes over a lithe purple leech with dark leopard spots as it starts to draw in blood.
  • Wriggling grotesquely on your forehead, the indigo leech draws in more blood, its body growing bigger.
  • Satiated and bulging with blood, the indigo leech attached to your forehead detaches and falls into your right hand.
EAT You bring your purple leech up to your mouth and start to bite down on it. Before you can finish the motion, the pressure makes an engorged purple leech with a wide spotted body bulge alarmingly before exploding, sending blood down your chin!
PINCH Holding it up to eye level, you lift your indigo leech and squeeze it experimentally. The leech bulges alarmingly for several seconds before popping, sending a splatter of blood all over your face!
