This spell causes the bones of the target to literally shatter, as if being heavily impacted. Depending upon which bones are affected, the target could be killed instantly if the appropriate critical is assigned. Training in the First Aid skill increases the chance of an instant kill.

Factors that affect Bone Shatter

• The damage of a successful attack is enhanced with ranks of Mental Lore, Manipulation.
• Channeling the spell from more offensive stances and with an empty hand(s) can increase the damage.

Using Bone Shatter

• CAST, CHANNEL, or INCANT this spell to initiate a warding check vesus the target.

Bone Shatter will only work on targets that have bones. This includes some undead, which is a rarity for empath attack spells. Casting Phase (704) upon non-corporeal undead will cause them to "phase in," allowing them to be vulnerable to Bone Shatter.
