I actually think this makes more sense as being a subcategory of Races. Cultures aren't races, no, but cultures are basically sub-races of races. You can't pick a Burghal Gnome culture if you're a Forest Gnome, or whatever, they're entirely based on race, so I think it makes sense to have them be a subcategory. Or maybe we should merge the two categories into one "Races and Cultures" category. - Ildran 08:42, 9 February 2006 (PST)

Well, that's true of mechanical cultures, cultures in general are not bound by race. Culture exists on a world level, independant of race, though they often have their roots in race. One I can think of in GemStone in particular would be the Tehir, which are comprised of humans and half-elves and supposedly others. In fact, most of the cultures from the Turmyzzrian Empire can be selected by both humans and half-elves now that I think about it, so they aren't exactly bound by race either, though I guess you could classify them as 'human cultures' since they stem from the human empire, but aren't exclusive to humans. Merging into a "Races and Cultures" category isn't a bad idea though, since the concepts often overlap. - Oliver (User | Talk) 09:01, 9 February 2006 (PST)
