It is unclear what the word "csetairi" is based on, but it may be related to the Latin "ceterus" such as the modified form [https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/caeteri#Latin "caeteri"]. This is the root word in the phrase "et cetera", meaning "and the other things", perhaps playing off their constant hand waving motions. The creature itself is more reminiscent of a Hindu [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N%C4%81ga naga], a humanoid with a snake body, or perhaps [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Echidna_(mythology) Echidna] from Greek mythology except with multiple arms.

Csetairis were formerly level 76, but were changed to level 81 when the Scatter was introduced.

The csetairi has several humanoid features, appearing as a shapely woman with long, silky, black hair. However, the differences are readily apparent. Instead of legs, she has a long, thick, coiled tail, and her locomotion is definitely snakelike. Four arms sprout from her chest, and long, pointed fangs extend down below her upper lip. Her slitted, olive green eyes scan the area rapidly, looking for potential victims.

Hunting strategies

Csetairi are capable of dispelling a large number of spells at once:

A csetairi points two of her four hands at you!

A pale, flickering nimbus coalesces around you, then vanishes in a brilliant flash!

The powerful look leaves you.
A dark shadow seems to detach itself from your body, swiftly dissipating into the air.
The light blue glow leaves you.
The air calms down around you.
The very powerful look leaves you.
The white light leaves you.
The deep blue glow leaves you.
The churning spectral aura suddenly vanishes from around you.

Messaging

Csetairi may have unique entrance messaging:

A csetairi slithers into view, her human torso held upright by the massive snake coils upon which she travels!

A csetairi slithers in!

Csetairi can cast with more than one arm at once. For example, when pointing two arms at you, they may dispel two spells.

A csetairi waves her four arms in a triangular motion.

Behind the Scenes

It is unclear what the word "csetairi" is based on, but it may be related to the Latin "ceterus" such as the modified form "caeteri". This is the root word in the phrase "et cetera", meaning "and the other things", perhaps playing off their constant hand waving motions. The creature itself is more reminiscent of a Hindu naga, a humanoid with a snake body, or perhaps Echidna from Greek mythology except with multiple arms.

Csetairis were formerly level 76, but were changed to level 81 when the Scatter was introduced.
