A cudgel, among the simplest of all weapons, is a one-handed blunt weapon, commonly referred to as a club. It is, essentially, one long haft usually enlarged at the clubbing end. Because of its design, a cudgel, when used in combat, will inflict crushing injuries to an opponent.
Acceptable nouns for a cudgel include: aklys, baculus, club, jo stick, lisan, periperiu, shillelagh, tambara, truncheon, waihaka, and war club.
The cudgel is wielded one-handed and requires training in the blunt weapons skill to use effectively. The potential damage from the cudgel is slightly below average when compared to other blunt weapons.
