Our mailer art was delayed, but I'd like to make sure dates for Duskruin are posted still today.

Start date is December 14th at 9pm ET. It will be a full run with the arena, sewers, and heist. We have some new additions. More details next week.

The GIFTBOX command is now live for a special Duskruin starter pack. Rewards are different in Platinum and Shattered. You must be a paid subscription to claim your parcel. It is limited one per account. The orb is the only item that should attune to your account.

Subject: The Distribution Method Chosen

This will take place this Sunday (12/23/18) at noon (12pm) ET. I will have it on the calendar momentarily. Just to help plan, here are the rules and prices of each item.

  • Entering the area where this will take place will lock you in with no exits.
    • You must have a paid subscription to enter.
  • No passing items around once inside the area.
  • You must enter a raffle that will cost roughly 1000 silver. You must have the silver before entering. Failure to do this will disqualify you from entering.
    • Bring extra silver just in case.
  • Winner of the raffle will have the option to purchase the item up for sale.
    • If the winner cannot afford the item, they will be disqualified from entering all raffles for the items listed below.
    • A new winner will be selected via a more simpler method to speed things up.
  • Once the winner makes the purchase, the exit will be restored and there will be a short break before starting the next item.
  • You can only purchase one item.
  • Items do not attune.
a bloodstained leather quiver 500,000 bloodscrip
an ethereal string 500,000 bloodscrip
a low steel lance 200,000 bloodscrip
a low steel greatshield 200,000 bloodscrip

After we get through the 4 items, I'll do something different for some other items.

Subject: Arena Updates

In June, I mentioned I would be pushing forward a new mechanic in the arena that removed the time element from being such a big factor in earning max rewards. Moving forward, time is no longer part of your scoring for the arena. The only thing the timer is there for is to control the pace and difficulty of the arena. Your score is now purely dodging (50), defeating opponents (175), and winning (25). Surrendering will also have steeper penalties to rewards. Keep in mind, you can also get 10% more in solo arena matches if you have successful completed the Silent Investors missions in the Bank Heist for a maximum of 275 bloodscrip.

Another change this run is to how the timer reacts when creature clean up occurs and new creatures are summoned. The arena mechanics are based on a 4 second interval. When creatures are pulled out of the arena when they die and when new creatures are summoned, this will no longer count against your timer. Slower combatants should see some improvement on getting through all 25 foes. This also means that the arena can get as long as (approximately) ten minutes, but not so much additional combat time (if that makes sense).

Some more updates!

The timer for when creatures were being removed and new creatures were summoned was sometimes ticking when certain criteria was met. I've gone ahead and made sure it always pauses when running clean up/summon routines.

I've updated the intro messaging to say ten minutes instead of eight, because it can take up to 10 minutes now if you make it to the 25th creature and fail.

Champions will no longer spawn with bows due to DS numbers that were getting too high.

I've added a DISMISS feature that will allow you to get rid of the dead. There is no RT and it will try to take out all the dead at once. But if there is a dead rat, an alive rat, and a dead rat, it will only grab the first one. You'll need to DISMISS THIRD RAT first if you want it to clean them all up. You always need to DISMISS the dead ones for this to work.

Creatures now are cleaned up upon them being defeated. Big thank you to Estild for adding some tools to creature death so I could add this to the arena.

DISMISS still works and has been updated to be just DISMISS instead of DISMISS [creature]. This shouldn't be needed anymore, but in cases where the ogre doesn't clean up the creatures upon death (special death situations or specific creatures not being handled automatically) this still will exist.

If you do notice a specific creature that doesn't get automatically cleaned up or a specific way creatures are dying that seems to leave them behind, please post about it.

Okay, I added a very short timer to the auto-cleanup to make sure no one's lodged arrows or hurlable were being carted away due to how the game handles that being out of order.

You can still DISMISS if you want it quicker.

>>To include cast-RT, please. I had several instances of seeing "wait 2 seconds" after the next one came in.

The timer is just flat RT. You may still be in RT when the creature comes in.

Dodging no long has an impact on your bloodscrip. Hazards will still happen, so using WATCH and performing the right action will still be needed.

At this point, I think everyone is now better off.

Subject: Bank Heist Update, Ophidian Cabal

The Ophidian Cabal was at a slight disadvantage when it came to rewards because you could STEAL something that wasn't bloodscrip, resulting in less than 200 bloodscrip for a successful perfect run. Moving forward, the random loot you could steal is now moved to the end if you score high enough. You will receive a prize pouch like the other factions that can contain loot and sometimes a special items (like a rabbit's foot). You won't receive bloodscrip in it, like the other factions, because that's what you STEAL inside. The artifact is also stolen from the vault if you make it and not in the prize pouch.

Good luck!

Subject: Bank Heist Update, Ophidian Cabal

The pouches from the OC now can be thrown away. There is a trash barrel where you finish in each faction.

>>Is it intended that certain builds are just screwed reward wise?

Skill checks are part of the Bank Heist, so it's important to do the one that fits your profession. The numbers that are needed are either 1x or 2x evenly.

>>Any plans to compensate folks who have logged hundreds of cabal runs pre-rework?

The OC was working as intended, since stealing objects was always part of the gig. That was the charm of the OC, was getting the items outside the bloodscrip. However, the loot rewards were under 1 per run on average, so it felt too slow. I didn't want to add more to it, since it would interfere with bloodscrip valuation even more, so I moved it to the end IF you score high enough (it's not guaranteed). The special reward (like the rabbit's foot) was always there. It's just in the pouch now instead of handed to you directly.

The OC and PH have similar build designs in mind, the OC were intended to be loot heavy where the PH were bloodscrip heavy.

I realize there isn't much player information on the Heist, so there is likely a lot of discovery still.

[Bloodriven Village, Faida Lane]
Stretching high into the horizon to the east are the tall, white-capped peaks of the Dragonspine Mountains, sheer cliffs adorning the slopes like armor. Battered cobblestones line the road, with tall buildings lining either side of the thoroughfare. A crumbling stone wall is all that separates the town from the beginning of the mountain slopes. You also see a narrow space between two buildings, a dark shop and a hazy sigil-carved building. Obvious paths: southeast, northwest

>go building
[Sigil Shop]
The solid walls of this room are barely visible through a fog that circulates about, yet brief glimpses reveal various sigils covering the walls, varied in color, shape, and vibrancy. The haze is in constant in motion, forming tendrils which weave in and out of your presence. An ironwood table and a glowbark display case are neatly centered in the middle of the room, causing any fog near them to dissipate. You also see a simple witchwood sign. Obvious exits: out

>read sign
In the Common language, it reads:

~~~ Sigil Staves ~~~
Please enjoy my selection of Sigil Staves. They match the wood's natural enchantment with no other properties other than being a Sigil Staff. Price is set according to the rarity of each material.
Sold as is, they have a few unique actions, but you may purchase the certificates inside the display case to further unlock each staff.
Tiers
1: unique actions
2: allows spells to be TRANSFERred from scrolls onto itself, starting at 1 spell, but the tickets in the display case allows additional spells, up to 6
3. can be waved at a target to dispel 1-3 spells (must be energized and has a cooldown) and alters your appearance when held
4. can be raised to lower the mana cost of all spells by 50% for 30 seconds or 10 casts (must be energized and has a cooldown) and adds ambient messaging
5. unlocks the ability for the staff to multi-cast one spell as a flare
>look on table
On the ironwood table you see a sigil-carved faewood staff-of-Lumnis, a sigil-carved fireleaf staff, a sigil-carved glowbark crosier, a sigil-carved ironwood crook, a sigil-carved orase walking stick and a sigil-carved witchwood scepter.
>look in case
In the display case you see a pale sigil certificate, a bright sigil certificate, a vibrant sigil certificate, a glowing sigil certificate and a sigil-covered ticket.
Subject: HESS Updates
A good number of HESS items were retired for this run. I had made a post toward the end of June's run, and most of those things have retired. Here is the full list of retired items from HESS.
Everything on the weapon rack.
Everything on the armor stand.
Ironwright certificate.
Greater Elemental certificate.
Blink certificate.
Bubble Flares certificate.
Knockout Flares certificate.
Polearm Flares certificate.
Master Instrument certificate.
The enruned veniom band.
The enruned urglaes ring.
The white ora censer.
Some items previously in HESS have been relocated. But here is a list of items that were relocated.
Enchanting potions (Treasure Trove).
Phoenix sphere (Treasure Trove).
ClimateWear unlock certs (Mar and Scar).
Standards (Treasure Trove).
This means that the rack, stand, and table are no longer in the Scrip Shop (HESS), and it will just be the chest of certificates that you REDEEM.
Added this time around are AsG Changes, Weight Reducing add-ons to containers, VolnArmor unlocks, and splitters. VolnArmor's price has been reduced since last time by a little bit. AsG and WR are the same the last time they were here. WR can go over 50%. Splitter's price has increased significantly.
This shop will have a staggered opening by roughly an hour from when Duskruin opens.
Moving forward, to help with how you save your bloodscrip and plan your Duskruin experience, shop inventory will remain the same for an entire year before being rotated or retired. This will be the case with most shops at Duskruin (though we may add new things during future runs, we will not retire/rotate until at least one year). That time frame will start in December.
I had some questions come from Discord that are good to post here as well.
>>is the voln armor certs for existing armor again
VolnArmor unlocks are to existing armors with that script. So it must be at least tier 1 VolnArmor. This is disclosed on the contract.
>>and is there a limit on how much WR certs u could use? and max wr limit?
All certificates are limited to two per item per run. This is disclosed by a "very important sign" in the shop.
>>so when you said the items will be in the chest all year does that mean the prices won't change and there is no limit or scaling?
This only means that items won't be retired or rotated out within one calendared year. If items sell out, then there is that. Scaling on some items is still present, but it's mostly been removed.
We're going to try something different for this Duskruin run!
The Treasure Trove (it's a thing... not a shop) will display five items for you to browse. One item you can purchase, and the other four are there for a display as "next up" treasure. If you purchase the one for sale, a random item will be selected from those on display, and that one will now be for sale. The empty spot within the items on display will be replenished.
An account can purchase only one item every 24 hours.
These items will sell for bloodscrip and will vary in style and quality. There should be many opportunities for players to purchase an item.
Items that don't sell will recycle after 12 hours.
> Is this restricted against F2P players buying items?
F2P will not be eligible to purchase items from the Treasure Trove at this Duskruin.
> Is the item(s) account/character attuned upon buying?
No.
>Will each account have access to the same items, or will it be different for each account? ie.. account 1 buys the item, different account comes along is there a different item for sale or will account 2 have the ability to buy the same item account 1 did?
I think I understand your question -- but what you see on the display is what you get. When that's purchased, that instance of that item is gone.
> Any idea what price range these items might have?
I'll give more information on this later.
> Does the expiration expire all 5 items, or just the top item so the next item moves up?
Just the item that didn't sell.
> Also, I'm assuming this is the new bag component distro method...
No, this is a completely separate system. There might be a limited number of expanders for sale, but the primary distribution method for those items will remain as it was previously -- through the sewers.
New this run is the Treasure Trove. This is a solution to unique/jackpot (T5/T6) feeder drops and something we will continue to fine tune at future (pay) events.
The Treasure Trove is a hybrid shop mechanic that will randomize an item for sale, as well as give a peek at items to come. Because you want to know what you're buying, you'll want to be sure to INSPECT each item. We've tried to include all the relevant information that is important to make an informed purchase decision. No need to read a sign for these!
Items will range from mid-tier value to high-tier value and will have a similar feel to what you'd see when digging. We will be deploying this system with a few anti-camping measures to try to keep this system as fair across the board as we can. Things such as no loitering, no purchase sniping, and no locking items out for others. Due to the nature of the Treasure Trove, it will be a feature only accessible to paid subscribers.
And just to whet your appetite in terms of what sort of items to expect, I'll list just a handful.
Item Description Cost in Bloodscrip
a material swatch treasure sack expander - # of items 5000
a slender wooden rod treasure sack expander - # of same item 5000
a handful of sparkling dust treasure sack expander - total encum of container 7500
a strand of veniom thread treasure sack expander - weight reduction 10000
a low-necked ashen silver elesine gown graced with spiraling black coral beadwork Yfane/Nalea gown 10000
a veil iron sledgehammer with a sharkskin-wrapped haft +28 VHCW fluff scripted 12500
a massive ogre bone scabbard "Fully unlocked Fancy Sheath with custom (brutal) messaging, enhancive 25000
an opalescent white vaalin band set with a blue-white frost opal Ice ball ring 5000
a low steel maul 6x with mind wrack flares 200000
a bloodstained leather quiver Duping quiver 500000
an ethereal string Make-a-Returner with special powers 500000
Most items will be one-of-a-kind, but there may be larger quantities of certain items, such as the enchanting potions that were relocated to this system or the expanders that were a rare drop in the sewers.
The Treasure Trove will have a heap of items loaded into it. And just to repeat, we will be fine tuning it. This is its debut.
I think some lines got crossed somewhere for this to come across as a HESS replacement, maybe it's because a few similar items are in it. This is a replacement to using unique and jackpot feeder items, commonly called T5 and T6 by you, the players. You don't try to pull an item from it randomly and then pay for it, the items for sale rotate in and out on a timer with having one for sale at a time and four others on display as "up next." This is our solution to feeders and a prize wall. The moment something is purchased, one of the four items that were displayed rotates in to be for sale and a new item is placed on display. If the item isn't purchased, after some time it's rotated out and functions just as if it was purchased, the only difference is that the item can return for sale at some point.
The reasoning for adding a few high end items in here is due to how high profile items sell out instantly. This at least levels the playing field so that it's not gone within milliseconds of HESS opening up. As for why some other items were relocated from HESS to the trove is because they were either getting rotated out this run or they were going into a feeder (when the Dig was planned). The Trove also has no scaling in costs, and there are plenty of potions in the Trove (five of each).
You raise your glowbark runestaff high! Pale sparks jitter along its grain as sigils flare to life one after the other. Sharp lines of energy pulse in the air around you, the swift shifting of their patterns a dizzying yet curiously regimented dance. So invoked, the arcane energies continue to visibly flow about you even after you lower your runestaff.
Glaring burst to the black rat's chest dances across skin leaving smoking holes!
The black rat is stunned!
>analyze runestaff
You analyze your glowbark runestaff and sense that the creator has provided the following information:
This is a tier 5 Sigil Staff.
Tier
1: a standard runestaff with some special messaging
2: allows spells to be TRANSFERred from scrolls onto itself, number of spells the runestaff can hold are unlocked separately (up to 6 spells), currently holds 6 spells
3: can be WAVEd at a target to dispel 1-3 spells (requires 500 mana to have been spent casting spells to fuel the ability and has a 5 minute cooldown) and adds special LOOK messaging
4: can be RAISEd to lower the mana cost of all spells by 50% for 30 seconds or 10 casts (requires 5000 mana to have been spent casting spells to fuel the ability and has a 60 minute cooldown) and adds ambient messaging
5: unlocks the ability for the runestaff to multi-cast (repeat the last cast spell) as a standard flare
Unlocked verbs: draw, hug, invoke, point, prod, read, spin, transfer, touch, wave
The runestaff can have the color or quality of its sigils and magic effects customized with a descriptive word or phrase. Various messaging will include this custom setting.
The current setting is: pale
Messaging using this custom setting must make sense in the following context examples:
a/an [adjective] sigil
[adjective] energy/sparks/tendrils/haze
Customization should remain simple, nothing so complex as to require a comma.
Examples of functional customization choices: pale, dark, bright, shadowy, fiery, blue-green, coruscating violet, silver and gold
Examples of nonfunctional customization choices: shapes, anything that is not an adjective, anything lengthy enough to require a comma for grammatical purposes
Try to keep it to three words or less, and if three words, see prior rules. ('silver and gold' works, 'red, blue, and green' does not because of sentence structures, 'incandescent viridian and gold-speckled cerulean' is long enough to be cumbersome)
When in doubt, use a distinct color.
You might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the glowbark runestaff for you.
This showcases multiple tiers, with the latter being the highest and extremely high end, so set expectations accordingly.
You must purchase one of the runestaves available in the Sigil Shop. They're basic runestaves, but can then be augmented with other properties (flares, etc). There will then be unlock certificates available, in a similar fashion to others that are currently sold at Duskruin (more lower tiers available at lower prices, then higher tiers more limited and much more expensive).
KRAKII
Is the second line a spell description that I don't recognize [so it hit 4 spells in the example], or is the staff effect considered a Realm Dispel effect?
If it is considered a Dispel effect, is it based on the Realm of the first spell affected [because this mass-dispel effect hit two different Realms, unlike the capability of the mass-Dispel spells]?
Yes, that's the standard dispel effect. It will randomly use one of the normal types of dispels.
KRAKII
Are there certificates to raise the minimum spells hit Dispelled? The maximum?
If not, can there be?
Not at this time.
KRAKII
It looked like your example had four 'normal' spell sigils & one SK sigil.
For the 'normal' ones, do the number of charges transfer over from the scroll entirely?
If a given spell is already a sigil on the staff, can more charges be added to it?
Do the SK sigils vanish after a single use, same as a scroll would?
.
If a scroll has been Infused, does all of that love go to the staff?
Can the staff itself be Infused?
When a spell is transferred, all the charges along with it are also transferred. Transferring a spell that is already on the runestaff will simply use another slot. Spell Knowledge scroll spells are only one use (but also if infused for a longer duration, that also transfers over). The runestaff cannot be infused. Transferring a spell will lock a scroll.
LEAFIARA
1611 normally doesn't appear on scrolls. Is that about to change or was it put on the runestaff for testing purposes only?
That was for testing only.
KRAKII
Since these are able to be 'read' & 'invoke'd from, like a scroll, are these something that will be considered "a magical item" (when held in the left hand) for purposes of runestaff (being held in the right hand) defense?
No, they are a runestaff first and foremost. It would act the same as if holding any other runestaff.
RAGZ
Any other caster, when comparing the flare damage output of any flare versus a T5 sigil staff, would (almost certainly) have to admit that the flare from the sigil staff is superior. As a 515ing wizard, I'm not so sure. Would a single sigil staff flare outpace 3x Greater elemental flares in the same span of time? Is that a question I should be asking for an item priced at over 400,000 bloodscrip?
I understand the comparison you're making, but even if the greater elemental flare is better due to working with 515, that's not a justification for letting the Sigil Staff's multicast flare work with 515. That just means all runestaff flares probably should have factored in 515. No, I'm not going to change it at this point, but nor am I'm going to exacerbate the situation by allowing it to go unchecked for higher level (in terms of effectiveness) flares. As with the T4 mana reduction benefit, I designed it so it lasts 30 seconds or for 10 spells, thus preserving the 515 benefit, but that also keeps it balanced for all professions. That, unfortunately, isn't always possible.
It'll be up to each individual player to weigh if all the benefits of the Sigil Staff (easier access to spells from scrolls, able to dispel a target, mana reduction ability, and the multicast flare) are worth it. You're mainly just getting 1 benefit from the greater elemental weapons, which is the extra flare. Even just evaluating flare ability for both runestaves, the greater elemental flare is more than likely going to trigger against a different target each time, so you have to ask yourself how often does that flare actually make a difference in combat (i.e. kills the target, thus saves you time on a follow-up attack)? Now compare that against something like an extra cast of Minor Steam or Earthen Fury. The former can easily result in 100-150 extra damage and the latter can easily result in an outright crit kill (especially since your initial cast will probably prone the target).
You can now LOOK at the sigil staff to see if the tier 3 (dispel) or tier 4 (mana reduction) abilities are available for use.
There is no longer a cooldown on the tier 5 multicast flare.
It is now possible to have a (willing) merchant customize the random runes that are displayed when a Sigil Staff is spun (SPIN). From ANALYZE:
The random runes that are displayed when the runestaff is spun can also be customized to any list of words.
The current setting is: luck,sunburst,celestial,forest,glacier,will-o-wisp,fire,water,earth,air,lorae'tyr,shien'tyr,grik'tyr
>spin my runestaff
You slowly rotate your glowbark runestaff between your flattened palms. Crackling pale filaments spin out from its surface, intertwining and forming a spiraling array of will-o-wisp runes. The runes flash briefly, then disperse.
Any word can be used (doesn't have to be an actual rune from a runestone, but must be within reason and policy) and there is no limit to the number of words, other than the maximum length of all words (and commas) cannot exceed 512 characters. Feel free to come up with your own theme for your character!
Magic Sling Updates
Subject: MagicSling grows up!
Has everyone had fun with their T1 and T2 MagicSlings?
Because tomorrow, T3 makes its debut for sale in The Art of Lore! Right on the mannequins, available for a modest premium.
What does T3 offer? Everything that T2 does, plus the ability to serve as a weapons displayer. This ability can be toggled on or off! There's also an extra fluff verb that lets you show off your sling's lore ability.
But what about T4? Yes, that makes its debut as well - in the Treasure Trove!
What does T4 do??
>wear my sling
You sling a crystal-shod runestaff sling over your shoulder.
>whisper my sling lightning
With a powerful cry, your illthorn runestaff vanishes from your runestaff sling in a burst of lightning, only to rematerialize in your hands!
>whisper my sling lightning
With a powerful cry, your illthorn runestaff vanishes from your hands in a burst of lightning, only to rematerialize in your runestaff sling!
The ability to make your runestaff materialize into your hands or your sling with a simple password does not replace the rest of the sling's STOW and READY lore-flavored messaging. When you whisper the password, you get this messaging; when you READY or STOW, you get that messaging.
This is not mechanically uber. It's pure flavor! And it's going to be rare. Four T4 slings will be available in this Duskruin's Treasure Trove; one in the elemental flavor (shown above), one in a sorcerous flavor, one in a spiritual flavor, and one in a mentalist flavor.
And here's the fun part... the password ("lightning"), verbal element ("a powerful cry"), and magical element ("a burst of lightning") are fully customizable! This is a service that won't be offered at this Duskruin, but is something I am able to offer in the future.
Let me know if you have any questions. And thanks, once again, to Thandiwe for coding this!
NUDGE!
TOUCH is also a fluff verb that just lets you show off your dominant lore a little.
>You touch your runestaff sling, and an aura of flame and smoke grows from it to encompass your hand.
Subject: Hey, archers ...
.... ammo maintenance got you down?
Sick of tedious bundling?
Want to carry different types of ammo with you, but continually get crushed from all that extra weight?
Then the Compartmentalized Quiver may be for you!
<insert ad jingle>
But what is a Compartmentalized Quiver, you ask?
General Information
  • At T1 and above, they will auto-bundle ammo placed inside them.
  • At T1 and above, they gain access to having extra compartments that can carry ONE (1) extra bundle of ammo weightlessly per compartment.
  • The currently selected compartment will have its contents affect your encumberance. [IE, the bundle of ammo currently accessible will affect you, but ammo that are stored in the extra compartments are made weightless.]
  • TURN to select a new compartment.
  • Each compartment adds 1 pound to the quiver's weight, regardless if there is a bundle inside it or not.
  • Each compartment can only hold ONE (1) bundle of ammo.
Here's a breakdown of functionality for each tier.
T0/OTS
  • Plain 1 pound quiver.
  • 1 compartment, /NO/ weightless storage.
  • 4 zests (GET, PUT, RUB, CLEAN)
T1
  • Auto-bundle activated.
  • Extra compartments activated. [Weightlessly store ONE (1) bundle of ammo per extra compartment, not including the currently selected one.]
  • Toggleable ammo display feature. [Displays the ammo in the long description for the currently selected compartment.]
  • Minimum 2 total compartments, maximum 4 total compartments.
  • IE, at maximum it can store 3 extra bundles of ammo weightlessly.
T2
  • Auto-bundle activated.
  • Extra compartments activated. [Weightlessly store ONE (1) bundle of ammo per extra compartment, not including the currently selected one.]
  • GATHER ability activated. [Get ammo from ground, place in quiver.]
  • Auto-fire ability activated. [Equip ammo and fire in one motion.]
  • Toggleable ammo display feature. [Displays the ammo in the long description for the currently selected compartment.]
  • Toggleable flare display feature. [Description of quiver changes to match material or flare of ammo in currently selected compartment, additional messaging with various zests.]
  • Minimum 2 total compartments, maximum 6 total compartments.
  • IE, at maximum it can store 5 bundles of ammo weightlessly.
Here are some snippets of it in action!
>pull my quiver
In a graceful motion, you reach for the platinum quiver on your shoulder. You remove a single wooden arrow from a bundle of wooden arrows. >push my quiver
With a smooth, practiced motion, you reach towards your platinum quiver. You slide a wooden arrow into your platinum quiver, carefully combining it with a bundle of wooden arrows already inside. You add a wooden arrow to your bundle. >touch my quiver
You run your hand along the base of your platinum quiver and depress the bottom inward, ensuring that a portion of any ammo inside will show above the rim. The quiver gives a satisfying click noise.
You tap a platinum quiver containing a bundle of wooden arrows that you are wearing.
This is all with a fully unlocked (T2) quiver:
>prod my quiver
You depress a cleverly hidden button on the side of your platinum quiver. A subtle humming noise starts up accompanied by a whir of gears.
A radiant glow of brilliant white light surrounds the platinum quiver.
You tap a gleaming platinum quiver surrounded by a brilliant white glow that you are wearing.
>pull my quiver
In a graceful motion, you reach for the platinum quiver on your shoulder. You remove a single wooden arrow from a bundle of wooden arrows.
A pure, bell-like tone rings from the platinum quiver.
>turn my quiver
Several clicks sound as you rotate the glaesine top of your platinum quiver, turning to the next compartment.
As the new compartment clicks into place, a bundle of heavy crossbow bolts can be seen nestled within.
The brilliant white glow surrounding the platinum quiver slowly fades into dimness. With a rattling noise, several bones appear on the surface of the platinum quiver.
Roundtime: 2 sec.
You tap a weathered platinum quiver decorated with various small bones that you are wearing.
>pull my quiver
In a graceful motion, you reach for the platinum quiver on your shoulder. You remove a single heavy crossbow bolt from a bundle of heavy crossbow bolts.
The sharp rattle of dry bones rises into the air from the platinum quiver.
[NOTE: If there are no flares on the ammo, it uses the material of the ammo instead, such as 'bone' above.]
You can also TURN to a specific compartment. Use INSPECT to see the contents of your quiver. (Available for T1 and T2.)
>inspect my quiver
The quiver appears to be made of platinum. It looks like it would be best worn slung over a shoulder. It looks to have 2 compartments inside with the following configuration:
1. a bundle of wooden arrows [Current]
2. a bundle of heavy crossbow bolts
Type TURN quiver TO # to turn to a specific compartment.
AVAILABILITY - T0/OTS quivers. Unlimited. Cost: 2,500
- T1 Unlock Certificate. Limit 25. Cost: 10,000.
- T2 Unlock Certificate. Limit 1. Cost: 50,000.
- Add 1 Extra Compartment Certificate. Limit 20. Cost: 5,000.
The single T2 unlock certificate will be found in the brand new Treasure Trove!
NOTE: All other unlock certificates can be found in the back room of the quiver shop "Bundle Up", though this back room will be initially closed upon the shop opening.
I realize there was a slight delay in getting these announced and want to be sure people are aware of these guys prior to the limited certificates becoming available. Plus it gives people time to ask questions, etc.
Expect the back room with the certificates to open up sometime in the evening/night EST on Sunday, December 16th. (I will post a more firm timeframe once I know more on how my schedule looks.)
Thanks!
Subject: Hey, archers ...
I forgot to post these additional clips yesterday - things got hectic and then it was bedtime!
This is an example of one of the 2 fluff zests - RUB - which is available to the T0/OTS quivers on up. Note that the messaging is slightly different depending on whether you have a bow in your hand or if there is ammo in the current compartment.
>rub my quiver
With a sephwir long bow held ready in your left hand, you rest your right hand on the wooden arrows inside the platinum quiver at your shoulder, your blue-green eyes alert for threats.
The following are both T2/fully unlocked abilities.
This is the "auto-fire" mechanic. You must have the current compartment set to a type of ammo that will work with the bow (or crossbow) in your left hand. Crossbows have to be COCKed to use this ability. The only RT involved is the RT from the actual FIRE command, so there is no extra RT for this. It's basically combining 2 commands into one with some fancy messaging.
>pinch my quiver
With lightning-fast reflexes, you reach towards the platinum quiver on your shoulder. You remove a single wooden arrow from a bundle of wooden arrows.
Moving with easy grace, you swing the wooden arrow into position with your sephwir long bow. You nock a wooden arrow in your sephwir long bow.
You fire a wooden arrow at a greater burrow orc!
AS: +433 vs DS: +24 with AvD: +31 + d100 roll: +64 = +504
... and hit for 181 points of damage!
Perfect strike to abdomen. The burrow orc howls in pain and drops quite dead!
A greater burrow orc growls one last time and dies.
The wooden arrow sticks in a greater burrow orc's abdomen!
Roundtime: 4 sec.
This is also for the T2/fully unlocked quivers. This is the GATHER ability. Note that this is sort of equivalent to gathering the ammo yourself and putting it in the quiver, but it does it for you with one command.
>gather my quiver
You efficiently canvas the area, searching for ammo. You gather 2 wooden arrows into a bundle.
Having gathered all you can, you reach towards your platinum quiver. You slide a bundle of wooden arrows into your platinum quiver, carefully combining it with a bundle of wooden arrows already inside. You bundle some wooden arrows together.
Roundtime: 2 sec.
In regards to the auto-bundle ability, which is available to both T1 and T2 quivers, it will essentially search for a like piece of ammo to bundle with whenever you put ammo into it. Thus if your current compartment is a bundle of blessed arrows, but you try to put an unblessed arrow into it, it will find the compartment with the unblessed arrows to bundle it with. Similar with Ebladed arrows or even the mechanical arrows that 'break' and make arrows that are slightly different than the originals - it will automatically bundle/sort the ammo you put into it if you have enough compartments to handle it.
If you guys have any questions on other things, please don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks,
~Avaluka
