Epic deepening is a merchant service most often provided at high-end ticketed festivals such as Return to Coraesine Field. It allows one to take a container to a capacity not usually allowed by regular deepening (GALD) merchants and regardless of the weight of the container. So while a one pound back worn container might usually be limited to a 60 lb capacity, with epic deepening it could be taken to 180 lbs capacity (Return to Coraesine Field) or 200 lbs capacity (Cessation of Coraesine Field (CCF)). The deepening limits are announced prior to the ticketed festival.

Containers already at or over the published limits will not be worked on.

There are 3 levels of deepening offered above the maximum possible via regular (GALD) deepening.

EPIC (CCF):

  • 200 lbs - Back and (cloak) worn
  • 100 lbs - Slung over the shoulder (like a shield)
  • 60 lbs - Attached to a belt (pouches, sacks, etc.), over-the-front, torso/chest
  • 20 lbs - Waist worn belts, leg worn (pants)
  • 2 lbs - Anything really tiny.

RtCF:

  • 180 lbs - Back and (cloak) worn
  • X lbs - Slung over the shoulder (like a shield)
  • X lbs - Attached to a belt (pouches, sacks, etc.), over-the-front, torso/chest
  • X lbs - Waist worn belts, leg worn (pants)
  • X lbs - Anything really tiny.

A lesser form of epic deepening, referred to as grandiose deepening, was offered at Briarmoon Cove:

  • 160lbs - Back, cloak, and some shoulder containers.

A lesser form of epic deepening, referred to as grandiose deepening, was offered on The Albatross in 2014 with the following limits:

  • 160 lbs - Back, cloak, and some shoulder containers.
  • 70 lbs - Hanging off the belt and some shoulder containers
  • 50 lbs - Over-the-front, and various other smaller containers
  • 16 lbs - (Tiny containers like thigh sheaths, ankle sheaths and waist worn stuff.)
