Proper Technique

Before combining, you are able to dye one or both pieces of a forged weapon. After you have combined them into their final form, dying attempts will be fruitless. Take heed! While you are able to dye a piece before finishing it (polishing) this will cause the item to become worthless as you will not be able to VISE a rough piece nor will you be able to POLISH the dyed piece.

Polish all pieces BEFORE dying them!

When choosing a dye for a weapon, the color will be simplified to it's basic form. Regardless of what the merchant tries to pedal you, they will be simplified upon completion. The dye will also cover up the handle material in the description. The description is <quality><dye color>handled <dye color><metal><weapon> if I were to dye an oak handle Periwinkle Blue, and a cudgel head Emerald Green, the result would be a perfect blue-handled green steel cudgel. On forging hammers heads, the dye will replace the metal description as well, so if the previous example were a forging hammer, it would be a perfect blue handled green forging-hammer. Due to this reductive nature, the options for colors is drastically reduced.

Colors

For simplicity this is only taking into account the root color, as ruby red, blood red, dark red, lava red, etc, will all be RED upon completion. This list allows you to quickly see and compare the differences in style options. All dyes are found in the local dyer's tent or possibly with help from your friendly neighborhood alchemist.
