Fortune cases first made an appearance at Ebon Gate 2006 at Slatted Fortune and hold painted wooden slats used to scry fortunes.

Analyze

You analyze your blue wooden case and sense that there is no recorded information on that item.  It may or may not be able to be worked on by a merchant alterer.

You get no sense of whether or not the case may be further lightened.

Usage

Verb First Third
TAP You tap upon your blue wooden case three times before turning the case over with the slot down. A single slat of wood peeks out of the case and falls out.

A light spinewood slat engraved with the image of a blue bowl clatters to the ground.

You quickly pick up the slat and place it back inside your case.

Nestled within the slot of the blue wooden case is a series of wooden slats, each one crafted of a different type of wood and engraved with a painted symbol.
