Historically, the area in the sewers beneath Wehnimer's Landing was the first hunting ground for quite a lot of adventurers, and they would frequently rest at the Cul-de-Sac entrance to the catacombs. This faded away a few years ago, after the opening of Ta'Vaalor and the diversion of most new players there, as well as the node status being removed from the Cul-de-Sac. In that era, it was often among the five busiest sites in the Landing.

Larger than a domestic cat, the giant rat stands over a foot high. Dark brown in color, shading off to white on the belly, with naked pink ears and narrow glinting eyes, the rat glares with unrestrained bloodlust. Known to exist in great packs, the rat has brought more than one over-eager adventurer to an early grave.[1]
