Hand of Tonis is named after Tonis, the Arkati of Speed, Travel and Thieves. This spell attempts to stun a target by stealing its breath or hurls a churning bolt of air at the target.

Factors That Affect Hand of Tonis

The CS for this spell when used to stun is based on the caster's level, aura bonus, all spells known. Dedicated training in Elemental Lore, Air (greater than 20 ranks) will afford the caster of this spell a second version, commonly referred to as Tonis Bolt. The Attack Strength for the Tonis Bolt is determined by dexterity bonus and Spell Aiming bonus. Elemental Lore, Air increases the spell's damage factor by .001 per rank for each rank above 20 until rank 50. After the 50th rank, it increases by .0005 per rank until the 100th rank.

Spell Usage

Hand of Tonis Version

  • CAST or INCANT this spell to cause a hand of air to reach out and squeeze the breath from your target.

The degree of stun caused is determined by the endroll. The Hand version of this spell can be cast by someone with greater than 20 ranks of Elemental Lore, Air by casting from defensive or guarded stance.

  • Hand of Tonis can be CAST at clouds to disperse them.

Also, casting this spell at yourself from a guarded or defensive stance will cause a column of air to form around you and blow your hair in all directions: a 'hair dryer' of sorts (no mechanical effect).

Tonis Bolt Version

  • CAST or INCANT this spell from offensive or advancing stance to hurl a churning bolt of air at a target.

This spell causes Unbalance crits and will often knock down and/or stun a target.
