Helga's Back Taxes

During the annual review of taxes, it is discovered that Helga’s tavern is severely behind and the tavern will be closed and sold to reimburse the city if the back taxes are not paid. Sleepy, the west gate guard who is widely suspected of having a relationship of some sort with Helga, was supposed to be handling it for her while she tried to gather the money needed but failed to do so and did not inform her.

To help Helga keep her tavern, Sleepy organizes an auction with various local merchants to sell donated items, memorabilia items from Helga’s tavern, and adds in one of his spare swords. Afterwards, the excess funds were used to completely restock the tavern with new food and drinks to generate more business so she can pay future taxes without issue.

Auction List

a tarnished rolaren sword : Wrapped with lanyards of supple, time-worn ebon leather, the serviceable ebonwood grip of the weapon is smooth from wear and tear. Though small chips mar the surface of the tarnished rolaren blade, the edge still appears menacingly sharp and has obviously been well taken care of.

a blue-striped cotton hand towel : A faded pattern of skinny and fat blue stripes run across the threadbare cotton towel, which is steadfastly hemmed with wiry golden thread. Embroidered around a few mottled ale stains are rigid block letters that spell out, "Helga's Tavern".

a nubbly burlap sack frock printed with a purple turnip

a large stained wooden spoon: Dark, variegated spatters permanently stain the rounded lip of the visibly scrubbed spoon, fading to lighter brown mid-way up the handle. A large chip is taken out of the wood, next to a boldly marked label reading, "Property of Helga's Tavern".

a varnished heavy oak case : (Holds Steins as part of a set) Each slender length of oak is varnished to preserve the natural beauty of the wood, then pieced together carefully to create a seamless container. The thick lid is branded with the image of a large stew pot, and the letter H is etched beneath the cookware. An interior lining of golden velvet ensures that any items kept within the case are secure and safe from harm.
a hefty steel stein etched with the word "Helga's" on the surface ; (4 of these came in the case)

a varnished heavy oak case : (Holds Glasses as part of a set) Each slender length of oak is varnished to preserve the natural beauty of the wood, then pieced together carefully to create a seamless container. The thick lid is branded with the image of a large stew pot, and the letter H is etched beneath the cookware. An interior lining of dark blue velvet ensures that any items kept within the case are secure and safe from harm.
a thick silver-rimmed glass engraved with an H ; (4 of these came in the case)

a silver-edged porcelain jewelry box : (holds a few items listed below)
some teardrop selanthan bloodjewel earrings fettered with obsidian mesh (goes with box)
a cross-woven darkened silver neckchain (goes with box, has spell 1609 in it)

a cotton-lined cedar picnic basket : (holds baked goods in it as a set) Hearty cedar twigs are woven into a rustic, latticework picnic basket that is finished with a natural coppery-hued stain. Pinched pleats of fresh white cotton spill from the thoroughly lined interior. A pale blue gingham bow is tied to the twisted handle that arches above the double paneled lid.
some dense apple crumble cake layered with vanilla bean cream (part of basket)
a cross-scored blaestonberry turnover with royal icing rosettes (part of basket)
a tiny rum-soaked plum pie drizzled with maple syrup (part of basket)
a luscious creamed almond pastry (part of basket)
a cheesy mushroom tart garnished with a sprig of rosemary (part of basket)
a sugar-brushed candied walnut crisp (part of basket)
a plaited golden brown roll swept with a sweet butter glaze (part of basket)
a plump cream cheese-filled croissant (part of basket)
a buttery cranberry muffin with a caramelized sugar topping (part of basket)
a palm-sized loaf of honeyed cornbread (part of basket)

a dark burgundy linen apron embroidered on the pocket with an image of a stew pot

a brass-handled mahogany dress trunk : (holds a woman's set of clothing)
a high-collared plush sable coat lined with pale silk (part of trunk set)
a vaalin-bound wine samite gown : (part of trunk set) Cut with particular attention to the lines of the square-necked bodice and the knife pleats lending the hem a graceful appearance, the gown is comprised of richly-hued wine samite silk. A faint damask-like pattern of roses is woven into the fabric in a subtle design, and narrow strips of vaalin are used for boning in the bodice to create form. Matching coils of vaalin serve as armbands for the trailing sleeves of gossamer dyed to match the samite, and an underskirt of pale silk completes the garment.
a pair of delicate pale silk stockings (part of trunk set)
some square-toed opalescent silk slippers with low heels (part of trunk set)
Some Perfume (part of trunk set)

a lacquered pine betting wheel
There is also a pouch with dice

a trunk of men's clothing that included cologne
