Summary

  • Rodnay's wound from when the [[::Wehnimer%27s_Landing_Militia/saved_posts|militiaman]] shot him and he forgives the desperate man, but agrees to identify him after Stormyrain asks so that she can follow up with him.
  • Rodnay says that echoes of [[::Reannah_Kestrel|Reannah]]'s mind still exist in Shinann and that it may pass in time or not. He doesn't know if he can undo what Quinshon did, but says he'll try as he advances in his evolution.
  • Shinann seems to flip between her own personality and Reannah's; as Shinann she experiences blackouts and has removed herself from militia duty for the time.
  • Rodnay goes to live in Melgorehn's Reach, as the garden cannot sustain him anymore, but says that he will never be far and will come if called for. Before he leaves, he fields a few questions and explains that Quinshon has been wounded but still lives, that Raznel will return to herald in the blood god, and that he'll protect the Reach from those who seek to use its power.

Rodnay's Attacker

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep.

A voice in your mind says, "Hello."

A voice in your mind says, "Where?"

Briefly amidst the falling snow, a brown-robed blue skinned boy floats up into view, and descends near the base of Melgorehn's Reach iin the shadow near the lake.

[travel time]

[Melgorehn's Reach, The Shadow]

You are in a grassy area which is presently darkened by the shadow of a peculiar mountain jutting from the ground. It is unusual in the fact that no other mountains exist in this area, and you can remember a time when there certainly wasn't one here. You also see a rolton, a reinforced wooden defense tower and a broad path.

Rodnay holds out his hand, watching the snow fall on his fingers.

Rodnay quietly says, "Hello."

Rodnay removes a woven brown robe from his shoulders.

Rodnay looks down at his side, where no wound remains.

Rodnay pulls back on his robe.

Shinann smiles.

Rodnay quietly says, "I am okay."

Shinann says, "Good evening."

Speaking gently to Rodnay, Stormyrain asks, "Can you identify the one who shot you?"

Rodnay nods at Stormyrain.

Shinann says, "Such a pretty lake."

Shinann smiles.

Rodnay quietly says, "But I will not."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Shinann says, "Hello Captain."

Rodnay quietly says, "He was afraid, and thought he was protecting his family."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Shinann says, "Hello, Mayor."

Rodnay quietly says, "I forgive him."

Shinann curtsies to Cruxophim.

Rodnay quietly says, "There is also forgiveness."

Shinann says, "Magister."

Speaking gently to Rodnay, Stormyrain says, "I understand. Mayhaps you could tell me so I might be able to follow up with the member of the militia and take the opportunity for a bit more training? We can't have militiamen afraid--and taking action like that."

Shinann smiles at Raelee.

Speaking to Shinann, Ysharra says, "Hello, Shinann."

Rodnay nods at Stormyrain.

Rodnay quietly says, "Indeed."

Shinann gives Ysharra a rather puzzled look.

Rodnay whispers something to Stormyrain.

The Lingering Reannah

Rodnay glances at Shinann.

Rodnay quietly asks, "Reannah?"

Kayse nods once at Rodnay.

Shinann asks, "Yes?"

Shinann smiles at Rodnay.

Rodnay quietly says, "No, Shinann. Odd. The other lingers."

Speaking quietly to Rodnay, Kayse says, "I was hoping you could...help."

Shinann gazes dazedly at her surroundings.

Rodnay peers quizzically at Kayse.

Shinann asks, "What are we doing here?"

Kayse slowly asks, "I left a note for you, did you receive it?"

Speaking curiously to Rodnay, Cruxophim speculates, "I suspect the damage may not be permanent, one hopes... would you concur with that..?"

Kayse glances at Rodnay.

Speaking cautiously to Shinann, you acknowledge, "Meeting with a friend."

Rodnay quietly says, "No."

Kayse nods rhythmically.

Rodnay peers quizzically at Cruxophim.

Rodnay quietly asks, "Damage?"

Shinann asks, "Who are you talking about?"

Cruxophim glances meaningfully at Shinann.

Shinann says, "Look... I know I got hit on the head or something."

Speaking tiredly to Rodnay, Kayse explains, "I wanted to know if you could link our minds and remind her of who she is with memories we both have."

Shinann says, "I removed myself from duty for now."

Rodnay quietly says, "Her mind is broken."

Speaking to Rodnay, Kayse says, "Or somehow get Reannah's mind to leave..."

Kayse turns to face Shinann.

Kayse shows Shinann her cloth-bound notebook.

Speaking curiously to Shinann, Kayse says, "That is your hand writing..."

Rodnay quietly says, "If their ritual had been fully successful, Shinann would be no more, replaced entirely by Reannah."

Speaking to Rodnay, Shinann says, "No... I got hit on the head."

Kayse nods understandingly at Rodnay.

Shinann says, "I think..."

Rodnay quietly says, "Reannah is dead, but echoes of her mind exist in you."

Rodnay points at Shinann.

Speaking patiently to Rodnay, Kayse asks, "Can we not fix it?"

Shinann blinks at Rodnay.

Shinann says, "I am having blackouts."

Rodnay quietly says, "In time it may pass."

Rodnay quietly says, "Or exist forever."

Speaking bluntly to Rodnay, Kayse asks, "May?"

Rodnay quietly says, "I do not know if I am capable of repairing what the black shaman did."

Shinann ponders.

Kayse glances away.

Speaking firmly to Rodnay, Kayse asks, "Can you try, please?"

Speaking to Rodnay, Kiske asks, "Could you just...nudge things along in the Shinann direction though?"

Rodnay quietly says, "It is not so simple."

(Shinann rubs her head.)

Shinann smiles.

Rodnay quietly says, "I will see what can be done. Perhaps along my evolution."

Kayse frowns.

(Kayse slams her cloth-bound notebook shut.)

Kayse put a thin cloth-bound notebook in her oval vanity case.

Shinann gazes up into the sky.

Speaking to Cruxophim, Shinann says, "My husband is trying."

Shinann nods at Cruxophim.

Speaking carefully to Shinann, Cruxophim notes, "I see."

Rodnay gazes in wonder at his surroundings.

Rodnay quietly says, "They are gone."

Rodnay quietly says, "It feels...nice."

Kabira asks, "Who is they?"

Shinann says, "I just love the snow. We never get it at home."

Shinann smiles.

Rodnay quietly says, "The Kestrels."

Speaking to Rodnay, Shinann asks, "What about us?"

Kayse glances at Shinann.

Speaking frankly to Rodnay, you admit, "I miss Cyph, though. And Drandea, though she wasn't a Kestrel."

Rodnay glances at Shinann.

Rodnay moves to stand in front of Shinann.

Shinann looks at you, puzzled.

Rodnay places one finger to the center of Shinann's head.

Shinann blinks.

Rodnay quietly says, "You may have peace. It will not last long. You will awake in the middle of the night troubled once more."

Rodnay nods at Shinann.

Kayse glances about with a look of concern on her face.

Shinann says, "Thank you... those blackouts are disturbing."

Shinann says, "I removed myself from duty because of them."

(Kayse's wings fall to her sides, a look of defeat on her face.)

Rodnay and the Reach

Rodnay quietly says, "I want to thank you for providing me shelter and comfort in your city and gardens."

Rodnay quietly says, "I must now go to my next home. It is calling me. We are nearing the time."

Rodnay looks up, his gaze shifting to the high peaks of Melgorehn's Reach.

Rodnay quietly says, "There."

Cryheart asks, "Ye going to live on the Reach?"

Rodnay quietly says, "Within the Reach, yes."

Rodnay quietly says, "I will never be far. I will be here, for you, and you for me."

Cryheart asks, "Rodnay, will ye remain in physical form?"

Rodnay quietly says, "Yes."

Speaking hesitantly to Rodnay, Kayse says, "This is slightly unexpected."

Rodnay nods at Cryheart.

Rodnay peers quizzically at Kayse.

Kayse waves her hand in a dismissive gesture.

Rodnay quietly asks, "Unexpected friend Kayse, why?"

Rodnay glances at Cruxophim.

Rodnay nods. [likely a thought exchange or whispers]

Speaking calmly to Rodnay, Kayse says, "We just got you back from the Kestrels. I did not anticipate you would leave the town again."

Rodnay quietly says, "Your town lies in the shadow of my home."

Speaking measuredly to Rodnay, Kayse says, "Just--do not forget who you are, Rodnay."

Rodnay quietly asks, "I will come and go as I please. I am a citizen, yes?"

Speaking calmly to Rodnay, Cruxophim implies, "The Reach is your home? Does it feel more welcoming? And of course, you may."

Rodnay quietly says, "The garden cannot sustain me any further."

Rodnay nods at Cruxophim.

Rodnay quietly says, "All you need is to call upon me."

Speaking wryly to Rodnay, Cruxophim says, "Well, when the next set of fools decides to come for our home, I'm sure we shall."

Speaking to Rodnay, Lornieh asks, "One thing I've been thinking of though... what happened to Quinshon after you exposed him?"

Speaking to Rodnay, Ysharra says, "Powerful as you are, you may find the solitude daunting."

Rodnay quietly says, "The black shaman lives. He is wounded, but he lives."

Rodnay quietly says, "I will not be alone."

Rodnay nods at Ysharra.

Speaking to Rodnay, Irar asks, "And Raznel?"

Rodnay quietly says, "The witch will return."

Rodnay quietly says, "She will come to prepare the harvest and herald in the Blood God."

Speaking huskily to Rodnay, Bravepath asks, "How can we find you, Rodnay, should she or the black shaman return?"

Rodnay quietly says, "I will know of their return before you."

Rodnay nods at Bravepath.

Speaking to Rodnay, Stormyrain asks, "Will you protect the Reach, then, from those who seek to harness its power and use it for ill?"

Rodnay nods at Stormyrain.

Speaking to Rodnay, Stormyrain says, "Should you ever need aid in that, you will have mine."

Rodnay bows to Stormyrain.

Stormyrain bows to Rodnay.

Rodnay quietly says, "I will visit."

Rodnay quietly says, "I am not a monster."

Rodnay glances at Maylan.

Rodnay quietly says, "Your thoughts alone will not keep me content."

Rodnay glances at Kayse.

Rodnay moves to stand in front of Kayse.

Kayse cocks her head at Rodnay.

Rodnay hugs Kayse.

Kayse smiles at Rodnay.

Kayse hugs Rodnay.

Rodnay quietly says, "I will always be within...Reach."

Rodnay smiles, almost like a human boy for once.

Rodnay holds out his hand, then waves.

Rodnay lifts into the air effortlessly, his small frame ascending into the sky, partially obscured by the shadow Melgorehn's Reach. Moments later he raises out of sight, disappearing into the depths of night or perhaps into the heart of the mountain itself.
