Summary

 • As lightning flashes through the sky, a red light is spotted approaching the Landing--and it's Grishom Stone! He says he's not their enemy, other than Puptilian's, and wished to speak with Mayor Lylia; others are welcome to attend. The group gathers at Hearthstone and Grishom requests that former pupil Glethad be released into his care, since he is not healthy and the town lacks the true means to help him. Lylia asks if we would still be allowed to check up on him and Grishom says yes.
 • Alisette asks how Grishom will provide for Glethad, what he means to him, and what he'll get out of providing for him; Grishom says Glethad's his pupil, having walked a land of mystery for him, and his mind is fractured.
 • Grishom says he could have easily taken Glethad if he wanted, but he's speaking to everyone because he seeks his well being, not blood or war. Captain Shinann says Grishom is trying to appear humane, but Grishom says he is the bringer of life and that is what is to come; death is limited. Xanthium offers that Glethad could be cared for in Ivas' temple near the Vipershroud, but Grishom says the Arkati are the beginnings of their problems.
 • Ultimately, Lylia agrees to release Granthem and Grishom says he'll return in two nights.

Talking in the Rain

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the palm frond-shaped Leafiara disk, a massive snowy battle-scarred lynx, the Madgen disk, a forest wolf, an iced chocolate tart, a pale-faced coppery barn owl, some sloppy navy blue boots, a roasted ratweed tea, a large golden yellow pack, a white flask, a large acorn, a simple pottery mug, a dirty crevice brew, a large acorn, a rose-marrow potion, a rose-marrow potion, a rose-marrow potion, a rose-marrow potion, a large acorn, a large acorn, a circular ebonwood cart with some stuff on it, a dark stick, a large acorn, a large acorn, a large acorn, a large acorn, a large acorn, a large acorn, a large acorn, some stone benches with some stuff on it, an herbal remedy donation bin and obvious signs of someone hiding.

Also here: High Lord Mongonator, Leafiara, Lord Frittz, Wental, Desorceri, Madgen, Zosopage, Xorus, Rejuvin who is sitting, Fortiss, High Lord Aplom, Efts who is sitting, Puptilian, Sir Cryheart, Zaneon who is sitting, Edwyrd who is kneeling

The sky begins to fill with huge clouds, dark and grey on the bottom, pale and white atop, their puffy crowns ascending toward the heavens.

Zosopage says, "He hides better than you."

Efts asks, "Rocks hide beddar than what?"

Leafiara curiously says, "Hm."

The voice of Dwi heartily says, "Easy peasy."

Leafiara says, "It's back to rain and not snow... I suppose it's that time of the year."

Cryheart says, "Aye...the air seems a bit warmer."

Berost deeply asks, "Raining?"

The voice of Dwi heartily asks, "Stoopid time...why kint it be warm alla roun?"

Efts says, "Cause if'n et was warm alla you would not appreciate et es much."

The voice of Dwi heartily says, "I down fer da Rift Zoso."

Lightning crackles in the distant sky.

Leafiara says, "Mmm. A night like this, I kinda miss the lightning being purple."

The voice of Dwi heartily says, "Join Misser Cryheart! He goin sumplace."

Leafiara exclaims, "Dwi is the new Pukk!"

Efts says, "I am going to go nymph toss'n."

Zosopage says, "I haven't been to the Rift in awhile. Too much of a pain to get there."

Speaking darkly to Cryheart, Wolfloner asks, "Do you hide?"

The voice of Dwi heartily says, "Imma Pukkolypse."

Speaking to Leafiara, Zosopage asks, "You mean now I have to push her buttons?"

Speaking curiously to Zosopage, Leafiara says, "Well, I mean, you can try. I've never seen Dwi rattled, though."

Speaking darkly to Cryheart, Wolfloner asks, "You do not hide?"

Speaking darkly to Cryheart, Wolfloner asks, "How do you fight then?"

Speaking to Wolfloner, Puptilian says, "He carries a big stick."

Cryheart says, "I stand, stance and swing."

Speaking darkly to Cryheart, Wolfloner asks, "Ahhhhh. You hide behind your armor?"

The voice of Dwi heartily asks, "But if'n da Reebers dont touch yer hiney...dont killem?"

Cryheart says, "Essentially, aye."

Speaking deeply to Leafiara, Guarrin says, "I am sworn to protect this town though, I suppose technically I am a citizen of both."

Speaking curiously to Guarrin, Leafiara says, "Hmm, interesting way to live. I like it."

White hot flashes of lightning pierce the curtain of night above.

Speaking deeply to Leafiara, Guarrin says, "It's a rather long story."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Dwi says, "If'n ye needs help stealin stuff frem da hall..."

Maylan says, "Oh dear."

Leafiara surprisedly says, "Now *that* is some lightning."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Dwi says, "Jus sayin..."

Zosopage says, "Almost like a summer's storm."

Speaking heartily to Mongonator, Dwi says, "Too loud daggumit."

Lylia says, "Currently, Moot Hall is still mine. It is not stealing if I take things. Not until the next mayor is elected."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Dwi says, "But...if'n ye wanna gits a head start."

Lylia says, "I shall keep that in mind."

Dwi heartily conspires, "I'm good at takin stuff dat could be sold onna da open market...jus in case any ye wants hire me."

Dwi heartily says, "All's Imma sayin."

Zosopage says, "Forgot I had this."

Zosopage pokes his finger at a bald Upai doll.

Speaking tentatively to Zosopage, Leafiara asks, "What... is it, exactly?"

Lylia murmurs, "I shall remember it."

Cryheart says, "I hae a Baron Hochstib doll resemblance somewhere."

Speaking to Vancudais, Leafiara says, "After all that time in the arena, I bet your supply's running as low as mine."

Like ashen legs of giant spiders, jagged bolts of white lightning dance along the heavens as a mildly cold rain, just a touch of a hint of spring, descends from the sky.

Speaking to Leafiara, Vancudais asks, "Supply of what?"

Speaking to Vancudais, Leafiara says, "Potions."

Dwi heartily asks, "Storm's a brewin?"

Puptilian says, "Interesting weather tonight."

Speaking offhandedly to Dwi, Leafiara says, "More like already here."

Berost deeply says, "Done brewed it seems."

Puptilian says, "No hint of snow."

Vancudais says, "Not having been in there, not particularly... although, I haven't been working on them lately."

Speaking deeply to Xanthium, Guarrin admits, "You know, I've never been."

Vancudais says, "I need to get back to work on that."

Cruxophim recites:

"Thundernuts!!"

[donut spam]

Speaking understandingly to Zosopage, Leafiara says, "Ahhh... yeah, knew it seemed familiar somehow." [clarified in whispers it was from the Carnival of Freaks]

Zosopage says, "Home."

Speaking heartily to Cruxophim, Dwi says, "Yer pribate nicknames should be pribate."

Speaking soothingly to Dwi, Cruxophim assures, "Dear, my private pet names would twist your mind into an unusable husk."

Speaking heartily to Aeith, Dwi asks, "Still gots da twins?"

Hours says, "The well is not an area to drag junk."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Dwi asks, "Seriously...we should start haulin stuff outta der eh?"

Speaking to Balley, Leafiara says, "Pukk still has recurring nightmares of you talking about scarabs."

Balley softly says, "Oh."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Dwi says, "Oh...anna also...Imma good at mobbin stuff into places too."

Dwi heartily says, "Jus saysin."

Speaking to Leafiara, Chaoswynd says, "Pukk also has reoccurring nightmares about baths."

Speaking to Leafiara, Zosopage says, "I have a scarab talisman I should give him."

Speaking interestedly to Zosopage, Leafiara says, "Oh, would love to see the reaction to that."

Dwi recites heartily:

"Moobin serbices... aint tall... but we kin haul!"

A flicker of crimson light appears briefly in the distance then fades.

Speaking amusedly to Alisette, Leafiara asks, "Done any unintentional annoying Lazaryth lately?"

Approaching Situation

A wind stirs through the Lower Dragonsclaw forest, and militiamen grew alert at their stations upon the north gate towers.

Maylan says, "Oh oh oh oh oh."

Cryheart says, "Errr."

Maylan says, "SOUND THE ALARM."

Puptilian says, "Oh heck."

Zosopage says, "Uh oh."

Xanthium says, "Interesting..."

Cryheart says, "Moving to the North gate."

Leafiara suddenly says, "Oh, hm. Maybe the scouts are seeing something..."

Cryheart says, "Hurry."

Cryheart says, "Moving out."

[travel]

[Wehnimer's, Outside Gate]

Citizens, merchants and assorted dregs of society jostle against you before the great wooden gates of Wehnimer's Landing. Harried guards and militiamen try to keep the chaos to a minimum, but it is hard to keep track of those entering, let alone leaving, this large trading post. A dirt path encircling the wooden palisade of the town leads east and southwest. Nailed prominently to the wooden wall beside the gate is a sign you really should read. You also see a forest wolf, a large pale white ridge jackal, a reinforced wooden defense tower and the Wayside inn.

Puptilian says, "Slow."

Cryheart says, "I waited for others to join."

Dwi recites heartily:

"Join not da Cryheart!"

A town archer squints from atop one of the towers, "Did you see it?"

Puptilian yells, "See what?"

Speaking loudly to a reinforced wooden defense tower, Cruxophim inquires, "No, what?"

Cryheart asks, "See what?"

Leafiara yells, "Saw the red light, yeah!"

Speaking to Kothos, Xanthium says, "Brother, perhaps you should take shelter. It could get far too dangerous."

A town archer leans forward from the edge of the tower, "Something! Moved! In the shadows I saw a red light then nothing but something moved!" He points again, "See! There it is!"

Asben asks, "Don't we all usually die when we group up like this?"

Cryheart says, "I see nothing."

Puptilian says, "Going to go scout."

Cruxophim dubiously reasons, "That's just a normal evening around here."

Shadows seem to shift at the edges of the Lower Dragonsclaw forest.

Balley softly says, "Interesting."

Speaking pragmatically to Asben, Leafiara says, "This is how we have better odds of survival."

Cruxophim pushes his fist against his earring, and vanishes in burst of energy.

Deep in the shadows, you think you see movement: something like a thousand snakes all swarming around each other. By the time you've focused to get a closer look, they are gone.

The voice of Cruxophim amusedly suggests, "See?"

Leafiara confesses, "The nights sometimes go horribly when we completely split up."

Lylia says, "There is always something moving in the shadows. Nocturnal and crepuscular creatures frequent them. Honestly..."

Asben asks, "At least one of us has to survive right?"

Aeith says, "That's.... foreboding."

Puptilian: "Nothing so far in the forest."

Speaking to Asben, Leafiara affirms, "Indeed."

Berost deeply says, "Always somethin ...."

Cryheart says, "Pup is scouting."

Grishom: "Do not be so sure, Puptilian."

Xorus: "Good evening."

Leafiara asks, "Is that... Stone's voice?"

Goldstr says, "Hopes be friend an nae foe."

Myharl deeply says, "Well... that's not ominous at all..."

Madmountan says, "Oh hell."

Lylia: "Good evening to you."

Maylan says, "Oh it's that fella with the purdy face, on the thought net."

Cryheart says, "Grishom on net."

Cruxophim amusedly notes, "Oh, it's a Grishom."

Speaking to Lylia, Xanthium says, "The deer look healthier."

Cruxophim: "Evening."

Puptilian: "Anytime you want to step out we can talk about what I find in the forest Stone."

Chamorr: "Ahhh snap, aintchyou dead yet."

Dwi heartily says, "I'll stare down da wildlife."

Lylia: "It has been some time."

Leafiara: "And what brings you out of the Deadfall tonight?"

Cruxophim nonchalantly speculates, "I bet he's here with an offer to end the Witchblight."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Leafiara admits, "I was thinking a way to restore Thadston's sight, but..."

Shinann says, "No."

Dwi heartily asks, "Ye see wot I did?"

Speaking to Shinann, Leafiara reasons, "Well, he's offered to cure Larsya before. It would fit his past behavior."

Shinann says, "I mean no he cannot."

Cruxophim: "Ahh, the Deadfall. Forgotten by most, but not gone."

Speaking curiously to Shinann, Leafiara says, "That would be up to Thadston."

Grishom Arrives

Shadows at the edge of the woods shift, peeling open like a wound in the night, and a figure appears. A man walks towards town, staying just far enough away. His deep red robes move about him like fluid blood and his deep sea blue eyes sparkle in the light of the moon. He grins as he continues his approach.

Puptilian: "Oh not forgotten. Shame we didn't burn it to the ground last time."

Speaking to Grishom, Maylan says, "Hiya, mister."

Grishom says, "Good evening."

Xorus offers Grishom a black vruul skin button with a three-lobed burning eye reading, "Obey Xorus".

Leafiara: "He's over here at the gate, Pup."

Grishom declines Xorus's offer.

Grishom says, "I do not know if I would hurt, or harm your chances."

Grishom smirks at Xorus.

Speaking amusedly to Grishom, Cruxophim jokes, "Hard to say, 'round here."

Speaking curiously to Grishom, Leafiara asks, "Well, guess it's as good a time as any to ask in person instead of over thoughts, what brings you out of the Deadfall?"

Grishom says, "Local politics, I am afraid, is no longer in my blood."

'Cryheart asks, "Ye hae blood?"

Lylia says, "Soon it shall be out of mine as well; I understand."

Alisette whispers aloud, "Bad blood....that."

Speaking heartily to Chamorr, Dwi says, "I stared atta critter anna it sploded."

Madmountan says, "I'm interested in hearing about when they used to be."

Cryheart grins at Grishom.

Grishom grins at Cryheart.

Puptilian says, "We could spill the blood and see."

Speaking to Grishom, Goldstr asks, "Why ye abouts ?"

Grishom nods at Cruxophim.

Grishom says, "Just posturing, and you're not even on the ballot."

Grishom nods at Puptilian.

Grishom shrugs.

Dwi heartily asks, "Ballot? Dancin?"

Speaking hopefully to Puptilian, Cruxophim ventures, "Wait, are you actually suggesting we spill blood?"

Speaking to Grishom, Puptilian says, "There is no posturing when you are involved. You have done enough to this town and to those I love."

Archers eye Grishom nervously, some nocking arrows.

Speaking to Grishom, Goldstr asks, "Likes ye might win?"

Raelee whispers something to Leafiara.

Xanthium says, "That seems ill-advised."

Chamorr heartily says, "This is nuts."

Grishom raises his hands, eyeing the tower, then lowers his hands.

Speaking calmly to a reinforced wooden defense tower, Cruxophim reasons, "I don't think those will do much good, save your ammunition."

Speaking to Xanthium, Leafiara muses, "Would go about as well as that time Maylan talked Rysus' Rooks into firing on Rodnay."

Chamorr heartily says, "Letting him stand here."

Zosopage yells, "Don't let any arrows fly without good reason!"

Speaking to Grishom, Xanthium says, "They're frightened."

Speaking calmly to Grishom, Cruxophim inquires, "What can we do for you? That is the question, yes?"

Grishom asks, "Letting me?"

Grishom peers quizzically at Chamorr.

Grishom smirks.

Cryheart says, "Good restraint...and no harming them afterwards."

Lylia says, "He is outside the town's gates. The Town Council was very clear about where our jurisdiction lies."

Madmountan says, "I'm sure he's not threatened by the archers in the tower."

Speaking to Leafiara, Maylan says, "Hey it ALMOST worked."

The sails of the Glaesen Star come into view as she stands in towards the harbor.

Speaking mildly to Maylan, Leafiara says, "I'm sure."

Speaking to Grishom, Maylan says, "The Glaesen Star is in the harbor. We could go on a cruise."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Dwi asks, "Hearthstone's outside it?"

Lylia dryly remarks, "If you dislike that, take it up with what remains of the Council. They are the ones who chose as they did with the Elven village."

Maylan says, "Let's all take a nice cruise."

Chamorr heartily says, "Dangit protection."

Maylan says, "A fun one."

Grishom looks up at the sky briefly, watching as a light rain still falls, but seems to be dying down.

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "I should pertect my chair."

Xanthium whispers something to Kothos.

Puptilian says, "I see you made the gale stone yours."

Zosopage says, "At least this rain will melt some of this snow."

Grishom says, "Spring is almost here. Of course, with this blight, you wouldn't notice..."

Speaking drunkenly to Dwi, Gutstorm says, "You mean 'my' chair."

Grishom asks, "But better it ended here, no?"

Lylia says, "The blight has raged like a flood, but it seems to have reached its high water mark."

Speaking to Grishom, Xanthium says, "Yes. It's good that it didn't spread further."

Cryheart asks, "Would ye mind picking it up and carrying it back to your rock?"

Lylia says, "It is abating."

Speaking heartily to Grishom, Chamorr says, "Looks like we hasta listen, huh."

Speaking to Grishom, Goldstr says, "Da Blight do be easin up some."

Chamorr sticks his tongue out at Grishom, and lets out with a loud, "Thbtbtbtbt" from his lips!

Grishom says, "I'm not your enemy."

Grishom nods at Chamorr.

Balley softly says, "Rain brings renewal, I like rain. Maybe it will help get rid of the blight."

Speaking heartily to Grishom, Chamorr says, "Bullshirt."

Cryheart says, "Ye could hae fooled us."

Speaking to Grishom, Goldstr asks, "Nae?"

Alisette says, "And the other bad things about."

Grishom says, "I'm Puptilian's, it seems."

Grishom smirks.

Speaking to Grishom, Puptilian says, "Some people have short memories. I remember all the women you killed during your time here."

Dwa obnoxiously exclaims, "Reportin for duty!"

Speaking to Kothos, Xanthium says, "Looks like Cruxophim was right. By the way, never bet against him."

Speaking heartily to Grishom, Chamorr says, "What do ya want ya evil ol bastid."

Speaking to Grishom, Madmountan asks, "Do you have a particular interest in whether or not the blight sticks around longer?"

Grishom says, "I had wished to speak with Mayor Lylia."

Speaking politely to Lylia, Cruxophim offers, "Mayor?"

Grishom says, "I would imagine others will attend."

Cryheart says, "With a bodyguard of course."

Grishom says, "I welcome it. My request is no secret."

Lylia lightly says, "I do not even eat breakfast without an audience at this point, Grishom."

Puptilian says, "Not that anyone will listen to this advice, but any time we were given help by one Grishom Stone it never works out in our favor. His help always aids his needs more than our own."

Dwi heartily says, "Secrets is easy."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr says, "Talk to him outside of town, don't let him in."

Speaking to Grishom, Maylan says, "I am the Mayor now. I was elected last year."

Lylia notes, "Cruxophim is alive because of him."

Cryheart asks, "Form on ye mayor?"

Speaking to herself, Maylan says, "Oh wait..that's not how it happened."

Madmountan says, "He ain't a vampire, he can walk into town without being invited."

Lylia says, "We are outside of town, yes."

Speaking nonchalantly to Lylia, Cruxophim admits, "You're not wrong. Well, technically."

Speaking to Lylia, Raelee asks, "Is 'alive' precisely the correct term?"

Grishom asks, "We can, of course, go elsewhere. Your office? While you still can?"

Grishom peers quizzically at Lylia.

Speaking to Cruxophim, Lylia replies, "Technicalities."

Speaking heartily to Grishom, Dwi asks, "Feller...kint ye count?"

Guarrin whispers something to Cryheart.

Leafiara muses, "Just when I had hope someone might finally want the Abandoned Inn..."

Cryheart yells, "Lead now mayor!"

Leafiara shakes her head at Grishom and clucks her tongue.

Grishom says, "Then, it would not be Abandoned."

Grishom smirks at you!

Grishom joins Lylia's group.

Zosopage says, "Gonna take an hour to get up the stairs with this group."

Puptilian says, "People never learn."

Speaking to Lylia, Xanthium says, "I'll come watch you eat breakfast, Mayor Rashere."

Speaking heartily to Puptilian, Dwi says, "Dey learnt bout da Reebers today." [referring to a talk from Darcena at Silverwood earlier]

(OOC) Chaoswynd's player whispers to the group, "And with an authoritative tone, Cryheart did command the Mayor to proceed onward."

Speaking to Xanthium, Lylia says, "As long as it is after noon, then yes. Please do."

Speaking to Lylia, Kothos says, "I'll come too, if there's no objection."

Dwa obnoxiously exclaims, "I like breakfass! Wot are we having?!"

Lylia says, "None at all."

Cryheart says, "Form on the mayor."

Speaking to Lylia, Xanthium says, "I'm still your Emissary, at least, unofficially."

Grishom says, "Everyone is welcome."

Lylia says, "I see no reason to take you from pillar to post. We are not far from Hearthstone's porch."

Grishom says, "Secrets are as well kept as Mayor Puptilian's promises during his tenure."

Grishom smirks.

Lylia says, "Join me, if you wish."

[travel]

[Hearthstone, Front Porch]

Airy and open, the porch is enclosed by smooth, freshly painted white modwir up to a height of about four feet. As you ponder the sky-blue color of the ceiling and a lacework of deep green ivy that crisscrosses the open space between posts, the hubbub of the world beyond quickly fades away. Rocking chairs of various sizes are an inviting sight, and an elegant green marble arch provides a tantalizing view of the splendors inside the old manor. You also see the porch steps, a scorched oak sideboard with some stuff on it, a doorman and a purple modwir bin.

Maylan says, "Weee."

Speaking heartily to Roblar, Dwi asks, "Some ale?"

Grishom says, "Oh."

Grishom asks, "Here?"

Grishom shrugs.

Lylia says, "Albert will not let everyone inside, so this seems as congenial a place as any to talk."

Grishom asks, "Weaning yourself from the office?"

Roblar deeply asks, "Dis lil ting?"

Grishom peers quizzically at Lylia.

Cryheart says, "Tis an old meeting spot."

Chamorr heartily says, "Good choice."

Lylia says, "Indeed. Soon, it shall not be my office."

Cryheart says, "Perhaps we can hae ye greet Bubba."

Dwi heartily says, "My chair."

Speaking heartily to a doorman, Chamorr says, "Howdy Al, been awhile."

Grishom says, "Promises kept."

Grishom asks, "A witch to end a witch, wasn't that your words?"

Lylia says, "They were, yes. I honored it."

Grishom nods at Lylia.

Lylia says, "As I did my promise to Glaoveln."

Grishom grins at Faerinn.

Grishom says, "All three candidates present. How exciting."

Speaking to Grishom, Goldstr says, "We did see some witches den so seems ye did."

Grishom says, "Be ready for the debates. You will no doubt be asked at least once or twice how you will address "the Grishom Stone problem." Likely from Chamorr and Hapenlok."

Grishom smirks.

Leafiara says, "And Puptilian."

Xorus wryly asks, "What problem?"

Chamorr heartily says, "Fer sure."

Grishom says, "Precisely."

Faerinn says, "I should have just beat you and Walkar to death with a chair in that court room."

Grishom nods at Balley.

Speaking curiously to Faerinn, Leafiara says, "I think it would take a bit more than that."

Dwi struggles to stand, but fails.

Faerinn says, "Then dusted my hands and told the judge I rest my case."

Dwi heartily says, "I fell off."

Speaking drunkenly to Dwi, Gutstorm says, "To much lootsh."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Leafiara says, "Your, uh--favorite visitor is here, as you can see."

Speaking to Grishom, Goldstr asks, "Ye sayin ye is a problem?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Stormyrain says, "Yes, I sensed that."

Grishom says, "Your term is ending soon. So I have a request, you may wish to comply with, perhaps not."

Grishom grins at Lylia.

Grishom says, "Ah. Seer."

Grishom nods at Stormyrain.

Speaking to Grishom, Lylia says, "I do like choices."

Zosopage asks, "Get rid of that dang statue?"

Speaking to Grishom, Stormyrain greets, "..Seer."

Lylia asks, "Now why would we wish to get rid of a highly decorative and wholly innocuous statue?"

Dwi heartily asks, "Inocky wot?"

Madmountan says, "This is the ole' 'The lame duck might agree to something because they have nothing to lose' tactic."

Speaking heartily to Grishom, Chamorr says, "I'll seer dead first chance I gets."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "I wike to kish dat shtatchoo."

Xanthium asks, "I thought it was determined that the statue is no longer active or a threat?"

Lylia says, "On the contrary, I think it is a fine addition to the --"

Speaking to Xanthium, Raelee says, "Correct."

Lylia says, "Lame duck..."

Speaking thoughtfully to Madmountan, Leafiara says, "I always like how you cut to the chase."

Madmountan says, "Just a saying."

Speaking to Raelee, Xanthium says, "I at least pay attention to you, Magister."

Speaking to Raelee, Xanthium says, "Me and that cat over there."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "Mayer's talkin bout ye."

Xanthium glances at a massive snowy battle-scarred lynx.

Speaking to Lylia, Goldstr says, "Nae 'gainst ye Madam Mayor but dat statue do give bad memories."

Speaking drunkenly to Dwi, Gutstorm says, "She wantsh me."

Speaking to Grishom, Zosopage says, "I'm guessing it's the perhaps not."

Grishom's Request

Grishom says, "Currently, the former museum curator, Glethad, is under your town's protection and care. It is no secret he was, and arguably still is, a pupil of mine, if you will. But he is not healthy, and your town lacks the true means to help him, and that is a cruel thing. So I request he be released into my care."

Cruxophim bemusedly murmurs, "A curious request."

Speaking to Grishom, Xanthium asks, "What's wrong with him?"

Madmountan says, "Didn't see that request coming."

Dwi heartily says, "Folks kin retire."

Speaking to Grishom, Faerinn asks, "What care do you even provide?"

Madmountan says, "The tender, loving kind."

Speaking to Grishom, Asben asks, "What can you do that we can't?"

Faerinn asks, "Being entombed in a pillar?"

'Grishom says, "The list is endless."

Lylia says, "If released into your care, would we still be able to check up on him? To see to his progress and health? He was, after all, well-liked enough at the museum."

Grishom nods at Asben.

Speaking to Grishom, Xanthium says, "The Temple in Vipershroud houses the Children of Ivas. If he is...not well in a way likely to be at risk to himself, we could take him."

Kothos says, "Of course."

Lylia adds, "The Ivasian temple is known to be a place of healing certain ills."

Kothos says, "We take anyone who is unable to be treated by conventional or empathic means."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Gravetaker asks, "Do you concur?"

Speaking offendedly to Faerinn, Stormyrain murmurs, "He's quite good with a blade, really, I hear."

Grishom says, "Well-liked enough that few have checked on him in months, save for one or two present here. Or even placed inquiries, or could even describe what he looks like."

Grishom says, "But fair enough..."

Speaking amusedly to Gravetaker, Cruxophim admits, "Could do worse. At least he'd be... comfortable."

Grishom says, "Visits would be arranged."

Lylia sardonically notes, "I did not say I liked him much."

Speaking heartily to Grishom, Chamorr says, "I thought he was dead."

Speaking to Grishom, Xanthium says, "Sarcasm is a good look on you, but I didn't know the name before this moment...I'm a bit new."

Lylia says, "But museum personnel, they get attached to their dusty artifacts."

Speaking innocently to Lylia, Cruxophim remarks, "And their tunnels."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr says, "Don't do it."

Speaking to Xanthium, Kothos says, "We've made our offer. I assume he's looking for other leverage besides custody of this man."

Dwi heartily says, "Anna labels anna signs dat says shush."

Speaking teasingly to Lylia, Cruxophim suggests, "Are you going to listen to Chamorr?"

Grishom bows to Xanthium.

Speaking heartily to Cruxophim, Chamorr says, "Of course not."

Dwi heartily says, "I gots dis."

Speaking deeply to Xanthium, Guarrin says, "It is a generous offer."

Roblar deeply says, "If you were wearin any."

Lylia whispers something to Xorus.

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr says, "Give him nothing."

Speaking to Guarrin, Xanthium says, "The Children have been the charge of Ivas for centuries."

Zosopage whispers to the group, "I wonder what his ulterior motive is this time."

Faerinn asks, "Burying him alive would be a treat kinder than turning him over to Grishom so why not Ivas?"

Xorus whispers something to Lylia.

Speaking to Grishom, Lylia says, "And you must admit, Glethad was not precisely charming company. His mind is eroded."

Dwi whispers to the group, "Ulterior decoratin prolley."

Speaking to Grishom, Alisette asks, "How will you provide for him? What treatment can you offer that we cannot? Do you have a safe place for him? What does he mean to you? And what will YOU get out of providing for him?"

Grishom grins at Alisette.

Grishom moves to stand in front of Alisette.

Lylia says, "On the contrary; the two of them seemed quite close. It seems unnecessary to keep them parted, especially as we have not been able to ascertain what ails him, nor to help him in any way."

Grishom kneels down.

Speaking to Alisette, Goldstr asks, "Question be why?"

Alisette gazes into Grishom's eyes.

Grishom kneels to Alisette's height, facing her. [she's a halfling]

Leafiara says, "Last I recall, Glethad was recording details of the Ithzir plane. What exactly that means to Grishom, if anything..."

Grishom says, "I appreciate your new concern for his well being."

Alisette nods appreciatively at Grishom.

Alisette says, "I am just curious."

Speaking heartily to Alisette, Dwi says, "Dont fall fer it lil Lass."

Alisette nods at Grishom.

Grishom says, "He is my pupil. He has served me. He has walked a land of mystery for me. His mind is fractured. I can help him. I do not wish him harm, anymore than a shepherd casts his prize sheep over a cliffside."

Speaking eagerly to Alisette, Cruxophim suggests, "Fall for it."

Thrassus says, "Makes sense to me."

Lylia says, "That sounds eminently practical."

Grishom says, "He will be safe, mended, and in time, free to do as he pleases."

Speaking heartily to Cruxophim, Dwi asks, "Aint ye gots some one to bite?"

Grishom nods at Alisette.

Stormyrain whispers something to Lylia.

Speaking coolly to Dwi, Cruxophim responds, "Yes."

Speaking to Grishom, Raelee asks, "... why did not you simply collect him immediately when he returned?"

Grishom places his hand on Alisette's shoulder for a moment, holding it there. He grins.

Grishom says, "Your concern is honorable."

Grishom grins at Alisette.

Speaking drunkenly to a fluffy calico cat, Gutstorm says, "Nice puppy."

Zosopage says, "I would think asking if he even wants to go with him would be prudent."

Grishom stands up.

Lylia says, "There is never a reason to cast aside a useful tool, or even one that can be repaired."

Speaking heartily to Grishom, Chamorr says, "Free to do your beck and call."

Alisette smiles at Grishom.

Speaking to Zosopage, Leafiara acknowledges, "Last time most of us saw him, he, ah--wasn't quite of right mind."

Myharl deeply says, "Hey, I've only met the guy a few tims. Didn't even know he was ill. But, that doesn't mean I'm okay with "turning him over" to the likes of Grishom. I mean... particularly if he's in a bad place."

Speaking to Leafiara, Zosopage says, "Well that could be a small problem."

Grishom says, "Because now it is time."

Grishom nods at Raelee.

Speaking wryly to Zosopage, Leafiara says, "Just a bit."

Lylia says, "He is no longer in a 'bad place.' The 'bad place' was with the Ithzir."

Xanthium whispers something to Kothos.

Raising both eyebrows slightly, Raelee regards Grishom with an unimpressed look.

Chamorr heartily says, "Last time he was in a glass box posin as Grishom."

Thrassus says, "Yes, because languishing where he is now is so much better."

Speaking to Raelee, Leafiara whispers aloud, "You and me both. ...for once."

Grishom says, "I suppose it should...and could go without saying..."

Grishom says, "But I will say it nonetheless."

Cryheart says, "Of course ye will."

Kothos quietly says, "You're going to make me regret coming out of the cloister. I just didn't think it would be so soon."

Speaking to Thrassus, Faerinn says, "I mean, probably? Stone couldn't nurture a pet rock."

Speaking heartily to Grishom, Chamorr asks, "His ailments is caused by your doing to begin with, and ya want him back?"

Grishom says, "I could take him. I could have easily taken him. I could have turned your militia guarding him inside out with a blink of an eye. I could have stripped the barracks apart, brick by brick, and buried your town's orphans under it for daring to raise a weapon against me."

Speaking to Grishom, Lylia says, "By all means. If we are speaking openly, I shall say what I said to our captain a moment ago. If you sought him, you could choose to take him. Instead, you have chosen to knock on our gate instead of bursting it in."

Speaking to Grishom, Lylia says, "Then we are of one mind on this."

Speaking to Lylia, Goldstr says, "I tinkin ye got to his intentions."

Grishom says, "But I am here. Speaking to you all."

Speaking deeply to Grishom, Guarrin asks, "Why?"

Lylia agrees, "Just so."

Speaking amicably to Grishom, Cruxophim concedes, "The polite thing to do."

(OOC) Zosopage's player whispers to the group, "That was perfect timing you two."

(OOC) Alisette's player whispers to the group, "It was!"

Grishom says, "Because it is Glethad's well being I seek. Not blood, not war."

(OOC) Lylia's player whispers to the group, "That could've never happened again if I tried all year!"

Speaking deeply to Guarrin, Myharl asks, "A distraction obviously. Has anyone gone to check on Glethad?"

Faerinn says, "Or whatever power or profit can be siphoned from his well being."

Shinann says, "Because he is attempting to portray himself as humane."

Lylia says, "We have had enough of blood. The bay still stinks of it."

Grishom nods at Lylia.

Grishom smirks at Shinann.

Leafiara whispers something to Cruxophim.

Grishom says, "I am the bringer of life. That is what I seek. That is what is to come."

Dwi heartily says, "Anyone guardin da gate."

Shinann says, "No reason to think it... you can hear me."

Grishom says, "Death is limited."

Grishom nods at Shinann.

Speaking deeply to Myharl, Guarrin says, "Possible. Don't think he's in need of causing a distraction."

Speaking curiously to Grishom, Leafiara asks, "What does that even mean?"

Grishom grins at Leafiara.'

Speaking calmly to Grishom, Cruxophim counters, "Life is limited. This is what bestows upon it, beauty."

Fulmen whispers to the group, "Delusions of godhood and grandeur, I think."

Speaking to Grishom, Xanthium asks, "The Ivas Temple is within the Wehnimer's realm, but independent. You could take care of him there, yes? Would that suffice?"

Speaking amusedly to Grishom, Cruxophim adds, "Or so the philosophers claim."

Grishom looks over at Xanthium and shakes his head.

Grishom asks, "Ivas?"

Grishom scoffs.

Speaking musingly to Cruxophim, Leafiara says, "I like the way you think. Or the way people you read from think, anyway."

Speaking to Grishom, Xanthium says, "It's a lonely spot, true, but much warmer in the swamp than here. With the blight."

Grishom says, "Arkati are the beginnings of your problems."

Speaking to Grishom, Lylia says, "With the proviso that we may also meet with him and see how he fares, and to learn more of what he knows, then yes."

Speaking deeply to himself, Guarrin mutters, "Well, he's not wrong about that."

Speaking to Grishom, Xanthium says, "Many feel that way. But She takes those who no one else wants."

Lylia asks, "Shall I see that his minders know where to take him?"

Stormyrain examines her fingernails.

Speaking to Xanthium, Kothos says, "It's a presumption he's making to undercut your offer. Pay it no mind."

Grishom grins at Stormyrain.

Pietra says, "Why Ivas? Surely a man with a broken mind should be somewhere perhaps a bit.... calmer."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr says, "I'll be a minder."

Stormyrain shrugs at Grishom.

Speaking cheerfully to Pietra, Cruxophim suggests, "Like the Zelian temple."

Speaking to Pietra, Lylia says, "Those with broken minds sometimes find hale bodies a surcease from their concerns."

Grishom says, "Visits will occur. I shall arrange for it."

Lylia says, "I do not know. I do not worship."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr says, "A mind is a terrible thing."

Speaking to Grishom, Leafiara says, "I will agree with your detractors on this much--I got around to reading your memoir and it's been tough to reconcile some of your past actions with the things you say these days. You come and ask for things instead of taking them, and now you're talking about being a bringer of life."

Speaking to Grishom, Goldstr asks, "Did ye say where?"

Speaking amusedly to Xanthium, Kothos says, "Not now."

Grishom says, "I will return in two nights for him."

Grishom asks, "We are in agreement then, Mayor Lylia?"

Lylia says, "We are."

Lylia and Grishom shake hands.

Speaking amusedly to Chamorr, Cruxophim assures, "Quoting you on that."

Grishom grins at Leafiara.

Lylia says, "Thank you for being plain about the matter."

Grishom says, "There will come a day you hate me and oppose me, I am sure."

Grishom nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara says, "Tryin' to hone in on my territory or something, except without the Arkati. It's... a bit odd."

Speaking cautiously to Grishom, Leafiara says, "Yeah, maybe. I can't read you. ...yet."

Speaking to Grishom, Zosopage says, "That's the fun of it."

Speaking to Pietra, Xanthium says, "The Children of Ivas are those who have lost their minds, or been cursed and ravaged by disease."

Grishom says, "When I come to bleed the heavens, you may find yourself against me."

Grishom says, "Tragic as it may be."

Xorus whispers something to Lylia.

Speaking to Pietra, Xanthium says, "We take care of them when they've been turned out by everyone else."

Speaking to Leafiara, Faerinn says, "It's not about reading him, its about knowing you can't read him."

Cryheart asks, "A threat?"

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "Read, psychopathic serial killer,"

Leafiara asks, "So a bringer of life *and* a bringer of death, then?"

Alisette stammers, "Bleed the heavens?"

Grishom asks, "Are you...the heavens?"

Grishom peers quizzically at Cryheart.

Leafiara adds, "Because now that's *really* honing in on my territory."

Speaking uncertainly to Cryheart, Cruxophim ventures, "A question?"

Speaking to Cryheart, Pietra says, "Sure sounds like it."

Gutstorm drunkenly says, "Now I know why I toorned to drinkin, i can nae make any shensh of wot ya'll talkin bout."

Cryheart says, "Nae yet."

Grishom says, "You are shiny, but...truly..."

(OOC) Cruxophim's player whispers to the group, "A TALKING CAT?!?!"

Grishom says, "Leave the illusions of grandeur to me."

Grishom smirks at Cryheart.

Lylia quips, "I have been told I have a celestial body, but I am not 'the heavens.'."

Cryheart says, "May Koar teach ye."

Speaking to Faerinn, Leafiara confesses, "And yeah, I might just agree with you on that."

Grishom grins at Lylia.

Grishom nods at Lylia.

Grishom says, "Koar has an expiration."

Speaking to Grishom, Goldstr says, "Nae beens a secret ye feels yerself above da Arkati."

Cryheart asks, "And ye dinnae?"

Grishom says, "I do not."

Kothos whispers something to Xanthium.

Cryheart says, "We shall see, sorceror."

Zosopage says, "Not another one..."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr says, "Don't we have a extra glass box around somewhere."

Grishom says, "There's power beyond the Arkati, you know this. You will see this."

Lylia says, "They are not my glass boxes to see to."

Cryheart asks, "And why do we need to see it?"

Xanthium asks, "Doesn't everyone know that?"

Leafiara acknowledges, "The Drakes were, themselves, beyond the Arkati if the legends are true."

Speaking to Leafiara, Faerinn says, "Just trust whatever his actual motives are it's a power grab or a cash grab or something equally self serving."

Speaking to Faerinn, Leafiara says, "Perhaps, but... that's true of most motives with most people."

Speaking calmly to Leafiara, Cruxophim remarks, "There are many things in the spaces between words and worlds, things beyond our comprehension."

Grishom says, "Now, before I got distracted with all of this talk of slaver gods..."

Grishom asks, "We have a deal then?"

Grishom peers quizzically at Lylia.

Lylia simply says, "Yes."

Speaking to Xanthium, Kothos says, "You know from your time at home that power is often the only currency that gets billing."

Grishom nods.

Speaking to Lylia, Dergoatean says, "I don't know what he wants, but I do know it's bad news."

Lylia says, "In two days' time, he shall be ready to travel with you."

Grishom and Lylia shake hands.

Lylia and Grishom shake hands.

Speaking teasingly to Dergoatean, Cruxophim chides, "Don't be simple. Burned once, thrice shy?"

Grishom says, "My thanks. I am glad we could agree to this in the interest of Glethad."

Lylia whispers something to Dergoatean.

Lylia adds, "And in the interest of knowledge."

Cruxophim calmly concludes, "I'm sure this will end up just fine."

Grishom whispers something to Lylia.

Lylia says, "If you can...repair his mind enough to make him speak more clearly of his experiences, we all benefit."

Speaking to Grishom, Xanthium says, "I'm sure some here appreciate not being turned inside out and placed under orphans."

Speaking offhandedly to Cruxophim, Leafiara says, "A slogan for next year's campaign, whoever runs: when in doubt, things still work out."

Speaking to Grishom, Dergoatean says, "Zhi iemdidev uv Glethad iez zhi iemdidev uv Grishom."

Grishom smirks at Xanthium.

Grishom grins at Dergoatean.

Speaking to Grishom, Xanthium says, "There's a lot of oprhans here."

Dergoatean scowls at Grishom.

Xorus says, "I will, of course, assist a more lucid Glethad on any matters Ithzir."'

Grishom nods at Lylia.

Grishom nods at Xorus.

Grishom says, "Such is the goal."

Grishom says, "Without the father of shadows to hold them at bay, if they are not a debate question instead of me...then..."

Grishom smirks.

Speaking to Grishom, Goldstr says, "Mos likely fer ye aye."

Speaking warily to Xorus, Dergoatean says, "Te klaloc lette ram lette."

Xorus says, "Indeed."

Guarrin deeply asks, "Father of shadows?"

Grishom says, "No longer to hold them at bay...I mean."

Xorus says, "Grak'na'Den. Althedeus."

Grishom grins at Xorus.

Faerinn says, "If he comes up in the debate just talking about something else that is what will really kill him."

Cruxophim calmly states, "Father of the Black Heavens, I believe."

Speaking to Grishom, Zosopage says, "We love talking about you."

Speaking to Xorus, Dergoatean asks, "Are you suggesting the Big One is back?"

Speaking curiously to Zosopage, Leafiara says, "And apparently talking to him. Never been part of this long a conversation with him and most seem in good spirits." [which might not come across in the log due to cutting out non-dialogue, but Grishom's humor got quite a number of chuckles and chortles]

Speaking calmly to Dergoatean, Cruxophim explains, "I believe he's saying the Big One is no longer there to stem the tides."

Speaking to Xorus, Dergoatean says, "We enacted quite the unraveling."

Speaking to Dergoatean, Xorus says, "The Ithzir no longer have reason to fear him, world conquerors that they are."

Grishom says, "Once upon a time, I buried an axe in a man's chest and framed a green-eyed blonde-haired mayor in his own office, driving him into hiding and certain death that resulted in a cursed breastplate that transformed him into an abdomination before a final death."

Speaking heartily to Lylia, Chamorr asks, "Do you even know how to say no?"

Grishom grins at Faerinn.

Speaking to Xorus, Dergoatean says, "Oh, well, naturally."

Speaking to Grishom, Goldstr says, "I still nae enters our town Bathhouse cuz a ye."

Grishom says, "Oh look, green eyes and blonde hair."

Grishom smirks at Faerinn.

Faerinn winks at Grishom.

Grishom says, "Don't tempt me."

Faerinn says, "I'm aware I was there."

Faerinn glares at Grishom.

Lylia asks, "I have said no more often than most. How dare you insinuate otherwise?"

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "You'd look darling with red hair."

Lylia haughtily says, "Fools would rather hang onto a trinket and have it taken from them instead of offering a reasonable accommodation and trade."

Speaking amusedly to Chamorr, Cruxophim states, "That's a rude thing to say to a lady."

Grishom bows.

Grishom says, "Good evening to you all."

Speaking to Grishom, Lylia says, "Good evening."

Grishom glances at Chamorr.

Zosopage says, "Rest well or somehow at least."

Xorus says, "Evening, Grishom."

Grishom says, "See you around Chamorr."

Grishom winks at Chamorr.

Pietra says, "Well that was confusing."

Lord Grishom just went down the porch steps.
