The modwir tree is a conifer. It grows quite quickly, up to a hundred feet tall within thirty years. Its needles are gathered at the end of branches, giving them a fuzzy and clumpy quality. The bark has a grey hue with many irregular grooves. Modwir is a popular wood for shipbuilding, but has no inherent magical properties.

|Description: Grooves, veins, and rings running through this irregular rectangle of rock recount its past existence as a living tree. By some remarkable power, the wood has been replaced with deep brown crystal, which shines with a rich luster despite its pitted surface.|
