Wide, snow white wings spread ten feet across as the moor eagle soars in flight. Pale yellow feet extend below the bird's light grey, feathered body, the feet displaying razor-sharp talons that look long and strong enough to powerfully grasp most anything the eagle might encounter. A large, hooked beak protrudes from the moor eagle's head. In contrast to the muted colors on the rest of the moor eagle, the eagle's eyes are a striking sky blue.

Hunting strategies

Moor eagles will generally be flying out of reach of melee weapon users and ground-based spells unless they have just attacked a player. Spells with a knockdown effect, such as Call Swarm (615), or that can stun, such as Mind Jolt (706) (also found in clear glass wands), can be used to bring them into range.

Other information

Moor eagles have standard avian maneuver attacks. They can incur roundtime:

A moor eagle swoops down over you, buffeting you with its wings!
You duck to the side and the eagle barely misses with a powerful swat!
Roundtime: 2 sec.

A moor eagle swoops down over you, buffeting you with its wings!
One of the eagle's wings swats the side of your head with a stinging blow, and you reel as stars appear before your eyes!
Roundtime: 10 sec.

or also cause damage:

A moor eagle dives down and hooks its claws into you! With a great flap of its wings the moor eagle carries you into the air!

Just as the eagle begins to surge upward, it suddenly loses its grip and lets you plummet toward the ground!

You twist awkwardly as you try to break your fall with something other than your head!
   ... 20 points of damage!
Good blow to your left leg!
