Perception represents a character's ability to perceive the world in minute detail, factoring into some searching activities. Perception also factors into Ranged Weapons attack strength, the chance to hit an aimed target with a ranged weapon, skinning, foraging, finding traps laid by bandits, and more.

Perception also plays a part in searching Magru, Minor glacei, and Major glacei. Kiramon workers and Kiramon defenders are widely believed to have an increased gem drop rate according to Perception, however, this has been stated as false.

Perception also factors into the Sorcerer guild skill, Illusions.
