Alendrial's Announcement

[Town Square, East]

Here in the center of a broad plaza near the commercial area of the bazaar stands the impressive facade of the slate-roofed Moot Hall, where the citizens of Wehnimer's Landing hold various official, religious and social functions. Facing the square are some of the town's more prosperous shops, still doing business with the many customers who still frequent the streets at night. You also see a pretty flower girl, a droopy-eyed tan bloodhound, a mushy black door, a mound of snow, a dark green wreath interwoven with glistening black roots hanging from the doors of Moot Hall and a large purple wooden barrel.

A town crier's voice can be heard nearby, "Councilwoman Alendrial will be making a brief announcement outside of Moot Hall in roughly five minutes."

Lady Alendrial just arrived.

Alendrial smiles.

Alendrial says, "Good evening."

Alendrial bows.

Alendrial nods.

>look alend

You see Lady Alendrial DeArchon.

She appears to be a Half-Elf.

She is very tall and slender and has slender. She appears to be youthful. She has beguiling coral blue eyes and flawless ivory skin. She has loosely curled, chin-length champagne brown hair. She has dainty ears that taper to a slight point.

She is in good shape.

She is wearing a silk-lined black leather longcloak, a fireleaf-inlaid elven thigh sheath, a cutwork leather corset with niello clasp, a pintucked pewter linen blouse tucked into black leather vambraces, an embossed leather belt looped twice around its mithril buckle, a hip-slung ashen leather kit, some soft doeskin breeches, and a pair of cross-tied black oilcloth boots with ridged leather soles.

A heavy snow falls, sculpting everything into round white curves.

Alendrial gazes up into the heavens.

Alendrial says, "This snow..."

Alendrial shakes her head.

Dirra glances at Alendrial.

Dirra slowly empties her lungs.

Alendrial says, "I thank you for coming. I will not take much of your time."

Alendrial says, "I've a lot of work to do, so I'd imagine tonight will be quiet."

Alendrial smiles.

Speaking affably to Alendrial, Cruxophim agrees, "As do I. No correlation there, of course."

(Dirra strips her face of all emotion.)

Dirra folds her hands behind her back.

Lylia says, "Given the alternatives, I never mind an occasional quiet night. Let us hope it remains that way."

Alendrial says, "Tonight will be quiet, certainly. I can't vouch for any other nights."

Alendrial grins.

Alendrial says, "We are all aware of this self-proclaimed vigilante stalking our citizens and daring to take the name of Rone for his persona."

Alendrial says, "He, or she, is nothing more than a murderer."

Alendrial says, "We have laws, and as such, we must adhere to such. Justice is not a wild force."

(Dirra opens her mouth and then closes it.)

Dirra glares at Alendrial.

Dirra folds her hands behind her back.

Alendrial says, "I would like to announce, that the Town Council has placed a five million silver bounty on the capture of this "Rone". Furthermore, any crucial information provided that helps in discovering the identity of this murderer, will also be justly rewarded."

Dirra glares at Alendrial.

Speaking quietly to Alendrial, Izden says, "Last I heard we were releasing criminals to the streets to flush out this "Rone."."

Alendrial says, "There was no release of prisoners."

Dirra slowly empties her lungs.

Alendrial asks, "Are there any questions?"

Dirra turns to face Alendrial.

Dirra folds her hands behind her back.

Speaking amicably to Alendrial, Cruxophim offers, "I'll double that offer."

Speaking to Roelaren, Goldstr says, "But he hired Mercenaries."

Speaking to Alendrial, Stonmel asks, "Is the reward good if he's dead?"

Alendrial peers quizzically at Dirra.

Alendrial asks, "Do you have something to say Dirra?"

Alendrial says, "Dead or alive, it doesn't matter."

Dirra folds her hands behind her back.

Speaking calmly to Alendrial, Cruxophim informs, "Speaking of which, the knights your husband hired... we have a local mercenary named Hlendril that offered to show them around, if they'd like. For the sake of being hospitable."

Alendrial says, "Noted."

Alendrial nods at Cruxophim.

Speaking amusedly to Alendrial, Cruxophim concludes, "I suppose mercenaries know what mercenaries like? I'm not sure."

Cruxophim laughs softly, trying to hide his amusement.

(Dirra draws a deep breath, showing no emotion as she listens.)

Alendrial nods.

Alendrial says, "Very well. If there are no further questions, I've got a lot of work to do tonight."

Alendrial nods.

Dirra glares at Alendrial.

Alendrial says, "Get some rest. We may not always be so fortunate every night."

Alendrial smiles.

Lady Alendrial just entered the Moot Hall.

The snow falls peacefully from the sky, covering the ground of Wehnimer's Landing and its environs in a glistening blanket of white.

A town worker arrives and with a sniff, takes down the wreath on Moot Hall and walks off.
