Subject: Evening Ponderings

Leaving Galieca's, Lady Gelynne wandered about the city. Reflecting on the news she shared, she pondered the plight of the Shimmarglin Inn.

“Poor Master Uthaesdir. I hope he can find a way around his financial issues. My uncle always liked to sit in the tavern and talk to those who would gather in the evenings.” She smiled as her thoughts brought her back to her childhood.

“Sometimes, I would sneak in and listen to the tales of battles and brave deeds, and soldiers saving pretty ladies.” Passing the inn door, Lady Gelynne paused to touch the frame. “A bit shabby, maybe some new paint? I am not sure that could even help if times are so dire.”

With a slight sigh, she continued past the building, making her way home.

OOC ~ Last night Lady Gelynne was discussing that the inn has been having financial issues, and she is worried for the elderly owner.

Subject: A Boy on a Mission

Scampering through the doorway, a young elven teen stops quickly and glances around the tavern room.

“I thought Gelynne was lying, but I guess she was telling the truth for once. The place is empty”

Taking one more look at the empty room, Gasen walks quietly behind the bar and grabs a tankard of ale. As he turns around, he walks square into the solid chest of the owner.

“Oh… umm… Master Uthaesdir,” he chokes out. I… um… I was tasting the ale for you.” Gasen nods his head quickly, but before he can take a swig of the golden liquid Master Uthaesdir takes it from his hands and begins to usher the boy through the entrance.

“But Master Uthaesdir, I heard you were having troubles. I had an idea. Won’t you listen to me?”

Uthaesdir gazes at the boy for a long moment, his eyes turning from annoyance to sadness before nodding his head. Together, they walk to a quiet corner, pausing for a moment as Uthaesdir draws a glass of fruit juice for the boy.

Subject: New Traditions

Looking out the door of the Shimmarglin Inn, an elderly elven man wipes his hands on the apron loosely tied about his waist. Crowds walk by without even noticing the building. Glancing over his shoulder, Uthaesdir peers into the almost empty tavern.

"When I took over the Inn years ago, they always said tradition would see us through good times and bad. But Gelynne and Gasen are right, the Mirror is leading us in a better direction now, and it is time to establish some new traditions."

He turns towards the doorman and states, “Your services are no longer needed. Time to open up to all, who have the silver to pay of course. Time to stir up some customers and get the coins flowing.”

In the name of prosperity and trade, the Shimmarglin Inn is now open to all races. Bring your coin and raise a glass!

The Tavern will be seeing an update in the next weeks with a new NPC on his way for you to talk to.
