Song of Power causes the bard to become a moving mana node in the area, thereby increasing the mana regeneration rate of anyone joined to the group. However, be warned that the song can be very volatile if sung too long. Many suggest to stop the song after a few song renewals and then restart it.

Utilizing both 418 and 1018 simultaneously will increase the chance of chaos when manipulating mana.

If you see the message:

As you sing, you feel the mana around you begin to fold and shift in a sudden chaotic frenzy!

Stop singing 1018 immediately, or you will get a nasty head/nerve critical, with high likelihood of death
