Spirit gauntlet

Spirit gauntlets create bows of pure energy. They be overcharged in a "spirit mode" which drains the wielder's spirit while drastically improving the bow's strength.

Three were sold at the Ebon Gate 2006 auction. Another was sold at the Great Auction of 2016.

• a supple azure leather gauntlet - short bow
• a wide-cuffed thick leather glove - composite bow
• a slender pure white leather glove (may have been altered to: a camouflaged leather gauntlet reinforced with black alloy plating) - long bow
• a vaalin-chased silver mesh gauntlet - composite bow, "Ronan's Kiss" from Great Auction of 2016

Properties

• Each gauntlet can be raised to make a 5x enchant bow of pure energy appear in your hand. This costs 20 mana.
• It costs 5 mana every minute to keep the bow from receding back into the gauntlet.
• Arrows are created from the bow as you draw it back and are 0x enchant with plasma flares.
• Double flares on the undead.
• Once every 2 hours the gauntlet can be clenched to enter a spirit draining mode that drastically improves the bow's strength.
• In spirit mode it costs 1 spirit every 45-60 seconds to maintain.
• Once in spirit mode the arrows become 5x enchanted, and will flare on every hit.
• Also once spirit mode starts the glove imparts a bonus of +10 to strength, aura, and influence that lasts for 20 minutes. Even after the bow has left spirit mode.
• After the first spirit point is drained the arrows become 10x enchant.
• Sometime after the first spirit point drain the bow will increase to 10x as well, making for effectively a 20x always flaring bow.
• When spirit mode ends either by death or DROPping/SWAPping/WEARing the weapon back into the gauntlet it will inflict 2nd degree hand wounds.
• Because the bow is made of pure energy, when disarmed the bow just recedes back into the gauntlet and needs to be reformed.

Usage

Arming/Disarming

Mana Mode

>raise gaunt
You raise your clenched fist above your head, causing crackling arcs of hazy blue energy to streak forth from either end of your leather gauntlet. The energy quickly stabilizes, forming a hazy blue bow centered on your left hand.

You tap a crackling hazy blue long bow, which is in your left hand.

>drop bow
Crackling bands of hazy blue energy flow down the limbs your hazy blue bow as they recede into the confines of your leather gauntlet.

Spirit Mode

>clench gaunt
As you tighten your grip around a crackling hazy blue long bow, you feel a sudden rush of power surge through your left arm, demolishing the damping force within the conduit connecting you to the bow! You feel the power begin to siphon away the very essence of your life!

>drop bow
Overexerted from the enormous surge of power through your left arm, you feel your muscles scream with pain, accompanied by a number of shattered bones! Crackling bands of hazy blue energy flow down the limbs your hazy blue bow as they recede into the confines of your leather gauntlet.
