I think the racial selection can be said more succinctly and maybe emphasize roleplay choice more. I think that should be mentioned first before any mention of spirit regeneration, which really makes no difference with the availability of enhancives and the use of a few wands on every hunt. MOC is even mentioned as a good Guild Badge boost, why not spirit regeneration? The racial spirit regeneration vs. cs bonus charts are very interesting, but are they new player relevant? Maybe they are more appropriate on a separate page with a link. Good start though I think, but the beginner aspect is something that I think is getting lost. Racial selection could be trimmed down perhaps. On the other hand, it's the only thing like a complete section so far. Maybe that section only looks wordy because the rest of the article is, as of yet, so sparse? I would still stand behind the fact that, besides RP aspect, aura vs. spirit regeneration is probably the main mechanical factor at work here. DAID (talk) 03:41, 13 February 2015 (CST)
But uh, yeah...my idea of a "beginner's guide" might be a little higher level than some others. I'll see what I can do about trimming it down a little bit. I can say I personally think sorcery is rather more complex than some other professions, and the characters tend to be snarky and arrogant in many cases. So I wasn't really daunted by taking that approach to the guide. Anyway, let's see what I come up with for some other sections. It's always easier to delete and edit than create! I appreciate and do not disagree with your feedback, in any case. Thanks! DAID (talk) 07:29, 13 February 2015 (CST)

Over-the-top Introduction

Yeah, I did that. It's meant to be a bit tongue-in-cheek (hence humorous), but also to draw people in. Let me know your thoughts on this madness I decided to go towards at high gear. DAID (talk) 14:19, 13 February 2015 (CST)

Just remember that not all sorcerers are necessarily dark, stormy, arrogant, etc.--GOAT (talk) 17:48, 7 March 2015 (CST)

Playing a Sorcerer

I added some "Warning: Don't Be A Snert" verbiage. I figured a beginner's guide should mention not abusing (and how not to abuse) the area of effect spells, as well as how "lol but I'm evil" will not fly and we will all remember their transgressions for many years. I like the "Playing a Sorcerer" section, but I think the link to the AoE spells is good enough. The AoE section with instructions on how to dispel specific spells goes beyond the scope of a newbie guide IMO. But the info you posted should certainly go in the respective spell pages if it's not there already. VANKRASN39 (talk) 23:28, 24 February 2015 (CST)
Whatever you guys want, either way. I just figured warn them early. Leveling is so fast these days. INIQUITY (talk) 00:46, 25 February 2015 (CST)
I think leveling is super fast for anyone with a few characters under their belt, but for a first timer who has never played the game before (which I believe is the audience), it is quite a bit slower. VANKRASN39 (talk) 09:37, 25 February 2015 (CST)
I really like what you've done in this section, and got a great laugh! DAID (talk) 23:22, 6 March 2015 (CST)

Edit conflicts as the end of the contest approaches

I see I'm not the only one getting in some last minute work as the deadline for the contest looms. I appreciate everyone's contributions, so let's keep working hard! Make sure you copy your work to a text document on your computer, in case we get a collision. This post is only made in case someone gets frustrated with edit conflicts, we can resolve it before it becomes a problem. But you don't need to worry about me taking any offense, so go wild!
