Sysops: What is the apporpriate amount of examples? It would seem to me that 2 examples per formula is excessive. Mekthros: Go make your user page! ULTHRIPE 00:31, 12 January 2006 (CST)

Enough that it's clear but not so many that it's overwhelming. 2 per formula might be considered too many, but not necessarily. It's a wiki, discuss it with anyone who's interested and let us know what you come up with :) Ildran 00:44, 12 January 2006 (CST)
My personal inclination would be to have zero examples unless its a really complicated formula or an involved process to uncover the factors. In those cases I think *an* example may be appropriate. In this particular article its fairly straightforward, I dont think any examples are required, though I would like to hear the thoughts of others on the topic. ULTHRIPE 00:50, 12 January 2006 (CST)
That seems pretty reasonable to me. Ildran 01:06, 12 January 2006 (CST)
In terms of this specific document, I'd like to cut down on the examples, but I'm still all for an example or two per formula. For instance, I'd like to think that "truncated" is pretty clear, but tossing in an example for an endroll of 119 might still be a good idea. Likewise, when I say "initial damage," an example helps to illustrate that. I'd be fine with removing the examples in the third paragraph, though. I'll clip them out, and we'll see if it detracts from readability. Personally, I'm all for examples so that it's very clear what the document means. I'd much rather have one or two than none.
