Can we get rid of the old formatted list given that all of that information is in the table and you can curse over for the description? Or is there something I'm missing on why both are there? [[User:ARMYJEN|ARMYJEN]] ([[User talk:ARMYJEN|talk]]) 11:27, 23 March 2020 (CDT)

The most common way of managing lists of stuff on wikis is to make separate articles for each type of list. E.g. you would make List of Combat Maneuvers for a general list, List of Combat Maneuvers by Profession for those, List of Warrior-Only Combat Maneuvers, etc. Then you just link to each one at the bottom of the main article. This helps keep the main article concise while still having the various lists available for informational purposes. Just a thought.  :) Oliver Talk 11:18, 12 April 2010 (EDT)

I've gone ahead and moved the profession list to it's own page. I really like having the list of combat maneuvers and a short description right on the main page, though. I like the main page being a gateway to its contents...I like lore pages and spell circle pages that do it, too. Is it really a big faux pax? Becca 07:32, 14 April 2010 (EDT)
It isn't really that much of a faux pax, it just avoids information overload and having an article with fifteen different huge lists embedded in it. Realistically the difference between having the list embedded or simply linked to at the bottom of the article is minor. People are going to get to that list either way. I think this article is fine as is, since it's pretty concise and the list doesn't make it miles long, yet. For topics that might want to float a link to a primary list at the top of the article, making a template similar to Template:Otheruses4 with text along the lines of "This article is about the {1} {2}, for a list of {3} see {4}." which could read "This article is about the Combat Maneuvers skill, for a list of specific combat maneuvers see [List of combat maneuvers]." or whatever. Either way, it's looking great! Oliver Talk 09:22, 14 April 2010 (EDT)
