;1640rant script

One idea which has long been on my mind is how best to streamline the explanation of this spell to dead players. Many players simply are unfamiliar with it, and it seems crucial to explain it to them. However, at no time did I feel linking a dead corpse to this article was an effective option (has been tried...usually they just agree too quickly...and sometimes the results have not been good). Ideally such a script would harvest a small section of this wiki article, whereby regardless if the user or author of said script updates the script, it could give the most up-to-date information. Out of laziness, I finally opted to release on lich the script I authored myself last year. In light of recent discussion attempting to define the substance of gswiki edits, I felt it was timely to post this update I have long considered in a half-baked form. The script ideally needs me to learn the hacking tricks of something like ;gswiki while the gswiki portion seems to desire a better grasp and approach to transclution perhaps. However, all the mechanics are -- excepting some minor points of stance and RT -- correct according to even this very article. I would love to hear anyone's insight or to have someone help out my laziness to push this project along, and thus I've gone ahead and used the rather default approach of syndication. ;gswiki has been broken since the upgrades to the site changed the URLs. I mentioned it to Paul in the recent past to put the fix on his radar. Please use the mono or boldmono templates instead of <tt> per Zhouy's request to use more up-to-date code. VANKRASN39 (talk) 15:29, 21 February 2017 (CST)

Chrisms

I have a question about the statement, "Although ineffective with chrisms, this spell makes for a very effective battle resurrection." Is this completely accurate? Can a cleric effectively use a chrism on a body before 1640 is used? If so, then this statement should be amended to read "Although a paladin cannot directly apply a chrism to a corpse, a chrism can be used by a cleric before Divine Word is used." If not, then perhaps the statement should be amended to read, "While a cleric can apply a chrism to a corpse before Divine Word is cast, the effects of the chrism are neutralized by the use of the spell." I do know any cleric can apply a chrism to any corpse, I'm just not completely sure it actually does anything in the case of 1640.--ECHEAUX (talk) 14:46, 27 November 2019 (CST)
