The Silver Rod was a society of House Illistim that was dedicated to the study and expansion of Mentalism. Though the subject has largely been neglected by Illistim scholars, who are predominantly elementalists, the group rose significantly after its members helped track down a "psionic witch" who was attacking nobility and thought nets in 5103 Modern Era. Notably, however, the Nellereune family was known to have developed the fundamentals of telepathic devices millennia ago, which exist now in the form of crystal amulets. In any case, there are now a number of prominent members, including several Masters of Lore.
