Gathering and Panel Introductions: Cruxophim, Lylia, Puptilian, Raelee, Shinann, Xorus

[Helga's, Dining Hall]

Tinted glass oil lamps hang from iron sconces, casting a dim glow over the smoke-stained walls of the low-ceilinged room. Several tables and an oaken sideboard, bearing traces of the previous day's meals, are flanked by a long wooden bench and a few smaller chairs. A leaded glass window, its dusty panes half-covered by filmy curtains, looks out on the dark street, and a brick hearth smolders against the north wall.

Also here: Lord Gorku, Lady Authriea, Lady Lornieh, Dergoatean, Mister Pukk, Ejiroghene, Goldstr, Lord Stigs, Amie, Travax, Elbromo, Lady in Waiting Lynaera, Lafali, Lady Sairai, Eiliriel, Gavrien, Ambassador Ardwen, Magister Raelee, Lady Luxelle, Chatelaine Traiva, Cruxophim, Xorus, Grand Lady Roelaren, Matriarch Berkana, Sir Cryheart, Melikor, Ysharra, Mayor Lylia, Shinann, Sweetsin, High Lord Talinvor, Dirra, Aurourra, Puptilian, Bernadette, Lord Evician who is sitting, Chaoswynd, Felita who is sitting

You simply say, "It seems everyone's gathered, or at least most--so let's begin tonight."

Cruxophim kisses Sairai on the cheek.

Lylia nods to you.

You recite:

"Good evening and welcome to tonight's Town Hall meeting discussing current events here on the frontier! I'm Leafi, hosting on behalf of the TownCrier, and we hope to keep our citizens and allies informed and engaged."

(Evician glances at Cruxophim with an expressionless gaze from the mask on his face.)

You recite:

"Tonight will begin with a briefing on recent news--but, as always, all in attendance are welcome to ask questions about any other topics related to the past, present, or expected future of the Landing."

Ardwen says, "Evening folks."

You nod to Ardwen in greeting.

Cruxophim walks toward Evician.

Cryheart leans on Cruxophim.

Cruxophim leans on Evician, giving him a companionable grin.

You recite:

"TownCrier founder Miss Luxelle is acting as moderator tonight and will keep track of the queue for questions! To join that queue, simply RAISE your HAND and she'll give you further instructions."

You nod approvingly at Luxelle.

Cruxophim leans on Cryheart, giving him a companionable grin.

Lylia folds her hands.

Cryheart grins at Cruxophim.

Luxelle beams!

You mention, "You can join the queue for questions even now if you already have any in mind, I'm told."

Luxelle nods.

You turn toward Luxelle and render a sharp hand salute.

Cruxophim calmly repeats, "Evening, newcomers!"

Shinann folds her hands behind her back.

Luxelle sits down.

Cruxophim looks thoughtfully at Evician.

Luxelle makes a writing motion at the zoetic quill.

You recite:

"It's also our pleasure to welcome a diverse and knowledgeable team of panelists to field your questions, including new Mayor Lylia, former Mayor Cruxophim, former Mayor Puptilian, Magister Raelee of the Hall of Mages, Captain Shinann of the Landing militia, and Mayoral Advisor Xorus!"

Luxelle casually observes her surroundings.

Lylia inclines her head.

You recite:

"In that order, each panelist now has leeway to give a brief introduction to our audience if they would like, in case any are unfamiliar faces! Panelists, if you please."

Berkana removes a flask of Faendryl absinthe from in her plainly wrapped package.

Berkana offers Talinvor a flask of Faendryl absinthe.

Berkana tosses aside her package.

Amie just arrived.

Speaking wryly to Berkana, Talinvor asks, "From packages now?"

Cruxophim gives you a strong, encouraging smile.

You nod to Amie in greeting.

Travax raises his hand.

Luxelle nods at Travax.

Talinvor tucks a flask of Faendryl absinthe into a small pocket inside of his silver-buckled longcoat.

Lylia says, "I am Lylia Rashere Faendryl, newly elected mayor. I shall skip further introductions, as I have a few things to say momentarily."

Amie curtsies to you.

Lylia smiles quietly to herself.

You nod in agreement at Lylia.

Ardwen says, "Mass produced absinthe seems safe."

Speaking to Talinvor, Berkana says, "I buy them ten at a time."

You turn to face Cruxophim.

Speaking to Berkana, Ysharra says, "Hard not to, when he charges so little for it."

Cruxophim calmly adds, "Former Mayor Cruxophim, dabbler in various things around here. I believe most of you already know me."

Cruxophim chuckles.

Ardwen says, "I bet gnomes make it in a tree stump."

Lylia gazes fondly at Ysharra.

Cruxophim renders a sharp hand salute.

Cruxophim waves an arm about in an attempt to applaud.

You nod at Cruxophim.

Cruxophim frowns.

You turn to face Puptilian.

Puptilian says, "Former Mayor, ranger, follower of Imaera and sometime defender of the town."

You nod at Puptilian.

You turn to face Raelee.

Cruxophim removes a severed aelotoi leg from in his small eldritch coffin.

Speaking to you, Raelee states, "This seems redundant."

Cruxophim squints at a severed aelotoi leg.

Cruxophim put a severed aelotoi leg in his small eldritch coffin.

Speaking to Ardwen, Sweetsin says, "I heard Aelotoi did unspeakable things in it afterwards too."

Speaking casually to Raelee, you say, "One never knows if we have new faces in the crowd."

Ardwen nods at Sweetsin.

Ardwen says, "Of course."

Raelee clenches her jaw.

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Sweetsin!

Speaking gently to Raelee, you say, "You don't have to give an introduction if you wouldn't like."

You grin at Raelee.

Evician darkly says, "We also rescue dead people in kiramon in a dark castle and bring them to safety."

Speaking to Evician, Sweetsin says, "I wasn't judging, and yes you did."

Cruxophim nods in agreement at Evician.

Raelee tersely says, "Magister Raelee Svala of the Imperial Hall of Mages, assigned to the Hendoran Outpost... temporarily."

You nod understandingly.

You turn to face Shinann.

Puptilian snickers.

Shinann says, "Shinann Autura, a captain in the Landing Militia and a member of House Arcane."

You nod at Shinann.

You turn to face Xorus.

Speaking in Faendryl, Xorus says something you don't understand.

Shinann shifts her weight.

Xorus clears his throat.

Xorus says, "I am Lord Xorus Kul'shin. Occult philologist. Emeritus of the Faendryl antiquaries society amongst other things. I was the mayor's campaign manager and her chief advisor."

Lylia smiles at Xorus.

You nod at Xorus.

You recite:

"An excellent and knowledgeable panel tonight!"

Speaking amicably to Xorus, Cruxophim agrees, "Occult philanthropist, yes."

You recite:

"You may ask questions to any one, two, or three panelists of your choosing--or you may leave it up to the panel to decide among itself who will answer. Please note that panelists reserve the right to refuse an answer even if asked or to volunteer an answer even if not asked."

Ardwen asks, "Silvean wasn't her adviser?"

You recite:

"Now, to the news! No doubt the capture of the vigilante called Rone is fresh in everyone's memories, but first..."

Ardwen asks, "Philanderer?"

Ardwen peers quizzically at Cruxophim.

Speaking to Ardwen, Lylia replies, "Silvean is always my advisor, Ardwen."

Lylia chuckles.

Berkana says, "Malluch..."

Mayor Lylia's First Week In Office

You recite:

"As most of you know, Mayor Lylia was inaugurated last week! Her first official act was the beginning of the One Price, One Landing movement, and at this time I'd like to give the floor to her to speak about that and anything else that she wishes to say about her first week. Mayor, if you would?"

You turn to face Lylia.

Lylia smoothly says, "Of course."

Speaking mildly to Ardwen, Cruxophim quips, "Sometimes."

You give Lylia a strong, encouraging smile.

Cruxophim flashes Ardwen a toothy grin.

Lylia attends to her silk gown, making the gown as presentable as possible.

Cruxophim waves an arm about in an attempt to applaud.

Cruxophim gives Lylia a strong, encouraging smile.

Lylia says, "For too long, some of us have labored under a burden others do not face. Some of you may not even be aware of it."

Lylia surveys the area.

Lylia says, "If you are Faendryl or Dhe'nar, a forest-dwelling gnome, or half-krolvin, you are being robbed. The merchants of the town have stolen from some of us for years. Generations, really, in the case of some of them."

Lylia narrows her eyes.

Lylia notes, "We are sufficient to fight and die alongside other citizens. Our silvers are just as bright as others'. Our custom is no less valuable. Yet shopkeepers have chosen to charge us more."

Cruxophim turns an inquisitive ear toward Lylia.

Lylia firmly says, "It stops during my term."

You nod approvingly at Lylia.

Lylia says, "The 'One Price, One Landing' initiative, as the Town Criers have termed it, was my first act as mayor, a directive to the town's merchants to cease these unfair pricing policies."

Cruxophim nods approvingly at Lylia.

Lylia acknowledges, "I understand why they have done so. Shopkeepers always charge what the market will bear, after all."

Ardwen scoffs at Lylia.

Lylia shifts her eyes to Ardwen.

Ardwen exclaims, "I overcharge equally!"

Lylia generously says, "And because of this, I do not intend to require them to pay back what amounts to many human generations' worth of wealth to those of us who have been wronged."

Lylia says, "Even from you, Ardwen."

Lylia says, "It would be enough simply to see it end, which is why I have made my request to them to do so."

You nod once at Lylia.

Lylia clarifies, "That is, it is currently a request. If my polite request goes unheeded, then perhaps our townsfolk will add their voices as well - lest I raise my own voice."

Lylia smiles quietly to herself.

Lylia says, "The other order of business I would like to share regards last night's murder of Lord Deckits without a trial at the hands of an unruly mob."

Lylia scowls.

Lylia says, "Two of the town's guards were found to have assisted with the murder and have been summarily fired at my request."

Lylia tersely says, "Investigations into other responsible parties continue."

Lylia nods once.

Speaking to you, Lylia says, "I believe that is all."

You smile at Lylia.

You appreciatively say, "Thank you. A promising start, it seems."

You nod at Lylia.

Speaking to Lylia, Ysharra asks, "...what sort of fire? Balefire?"

Cruxophim nods absently at Lylia.

You relievedly quip, "And one fewer piece of news I'll have to discuss."

You chuckle.

Speaking to Ysharra, Lylia says, "Just ordinary firing at the moment. The balefiring comes later."

Recent News: The Capture of Rone

You recite:

"On to the recent topic of the vigilante Rone, then!"

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Lylia!

Luxelle says, "We have one question already, if you want to join the queue, remember to raise your hand."

Evician lets out a flaming volley of invective that makes your ears burn.

Evician clenches his fist.

You recite:

A pillar of corpses was discovered recently at the Black Sands, their bones removed. While identification of the bodies has proven difficult if not impossible, the white cloaks that they were draped in have led some to speculate that these were the Rone followers who attacked then-Mayor Cruxophim several weeks ago."

Lylia shifts her eyes to Evician.

You recite:

"Perhaps that... mob problem is no longer a problem. But time will tell."

Cruxophim nods absently to you.

You recite:

"The vigilante Rone would eventually arrive near that spot and go on to abduct Miss Goblyn and threaten her life, taking her to the roof of Moot Hall. However, at that spot he was captured and unmasked--revealed to be none other than Malluch Burdos!"

Cruxophim glances at Evician.

(Evician breathes raggedly and tries to calm down.)

You offhandedly mention, "By the way, Malluch had once attended a Town Hall meeting just like this one, bringing questions just like many of you are..."

Cruxophim rubs Evician gently.

You muse, "So you never know who might show and who stands among us. Maybe someone in this very room will snap and we'll never see it coming."

You indifferently add, "Or maybe someone already has."

You hurriedly continue, "In any case..."

Luxelle shifts her weight.

You recite:

"One might wonder what was done differently to capture Malluch after previous attempts had failed, and the answer is a plan proposed by then-Mayor Cruxophim and enacted by at least three blood mages. Malluch claims there were more, but that can't be confirmed. The three known to have participated, in full view of the public on Lyon Way south of House Brigatta, are Captain Stormyrain, Kipara, and Khylynnia."

Evician nods at Cruxophim.

Xorus says, "I was being polite by not telling Malluch the evidence pointed at him."

You grin at Xorus.

Lylia nods at Xorus.

Cruxophim gently rests his hand on Evician's shoulder.

You acknowledge, "Many did believe so for a while."

You nod at Xorus.

You recite:

"Led by Stormyrain, these three blood mages acted together to perform a binding ritual using their magic and blood as well as the energies of the recently-repurposed bone pillars. They also had support from Mayor Lylia and I--who are -not- blood mages, but helped to channel and direct energies as the three needed. Lastly, Captain Shinann observed without directly participating, remaining unlinked to the rest of us in the event that anything went wrong with the ritual and someone needed to intervene."

You recite:

"As I said, this plan was devised by then-Mayor Crux. As a matter of security, it couldn't be openly disclosed except to key individuals needed for the ritual, but it had been in the works for months."

You dryly say, "Naturally, Stonmel isn't here to hear this... maybe we could reaffirm some of his faith in our town's defenders."

You sigh.

You snicker.

Speaking calmly to you, Cruxophim confirms, "This is true. In truth, the pillars were implemented for the express purpose of aiding in apprehending Rone, which was a complete success. For obvious reasons, however, that portion of the operation was covert at the time."

You nod in agreement at Cruxophim.

Speaking fondly to Cruxophim, you say, "Exactly so."

Speaking to Cruxophim, you praise, "An expert plan."

Speaking mildly to you, Cruxophim suggests, "Expert participants."

You flash a wide grin at Cruxophim.

Speaking amicably to you, Cruxophim remarks, "Both obvious, and not."

Cruxophim chuckles.

You recite:

"Malluch was put on trial two nights ago for alleged crimes committed as Rone. Questions were asked and statements were given throughout the night, for which no short summary can suffice, so I'll only mention that I've made transcripts available if you know where to look."

You add, "If you don't know where to look... ask your friends. They likely know."

You nod.

You wink.

Xorus nods at Lylia.

You recite:

"After testimonials were given, the jury--consisting of Alasatia, Balley, Bernadette, Evician, Fahlo, and Pukk--rendered a verdict:"

You recite:

"Guilty of vigilantism and guilty of murder!"

You recite:

"Last night the jury also settled on a sentence, which I'll repeat verbatim from Judge Renpaw:"

You glance appraisingly at the white paper in your hand.

You clear your throat.

You formally read, "Malluch will be sentenced to three decades of imprisonment, at which time his crime and punishment will be reviewed. If he is found to be cooperative with the town leaders, militia captains and guards, his sentence can be reduced."

You formally read, "There is no guarantee of release after thirty years. Only a review of his crime, punishment, and behavior. In addition, he will be under special care and guard with the town prison, and access controlled and limited, but also extended to Militia Captains."

You nod once.

Cryheart asks, "So he is being held in the prison?"

You ponder.

You glance at Shinann.

Speaking wryly to you, Cruxophim muses, "A lot can happen in three decades."

Cruxophim chuckles to himself.

Travax says, "Burn down the prison."

Speaking curiously to Shinann, you ask, "Do you know where exactly he is being held?"

Travax coughs.

You nod in agreement at Cruxophim.

Puptilian mutters, "Prison never could hold a person longer then a few months..."

Speaking dryly to Travax, Lylia says, "I would rather not."

Puptilian rolls his eyes.

Lylia adds, "Yet."

Shinann says, "The town is guarding him with militia captains having access."

You nod at Shinann.

Speaking mildly to Puptilian, Cruxophim suggests, "Perhaps we should build more ingenious prisons."

You recite:

"Thus concludes, at least for now, the Landing's vigilante problem."

Luxelle lets out a cheer!

Cruxophim waves an arm about in an attempt to applaud.

You recite:

"Which brings us to your questions for the evening--about Mayor Lylia, Malluch, or any other Landing-related topics on your mind!"

Xorus says, "Whether he escapes or is murdered, I do not imagine him being there thirty years."

You nod in agreement at Xorus.

Cruxophim nods in agreement at Xorus.

Speaking frankly to Xorus, you agree, "Most likely."

Lylia removes a shadowy black feather fan from in her wrap.

Question #1, From Travax, Answered By Raelee, Cruxophim, Shinann, Puptilian, Lylia, Xorus, Leafiara: Malluch and Octaven

Speaking warmly to Luxelle, you say, "Miss Luxelle... the floor is now open. Lead us on."

You give Luxelle a strong, encouraging smile.

Luxelle says, "We have one question so ..."

Ysharra whispers something to Xorus.

Luxelle says, "Travax has the floor for the next question."

Ardwen raises his hand.

Luxelle nods at Travax.

Luxelle nods at Ardwen.

Ysharra smiles at Xorus.

Travax nods at Luxelle.

Cruxophim turns to face Travax.

Travax says, "Good evening esteemed panalists."

Xorus whispers something to Ysharra.

Puptilian grins at Travax.

Lylia bows to Travax.

Cruxophim gives Travax a strong, encouraging smile.

Travax says, "My question is for all but more specifically to Raelee."

You nod understandingly at Travax.

Raelee raises an eyebrow.

Ysharra grins at Xorus.

Cruxophim gazes heavenward.

You fold your hands.

Cruxophim takes a slow, deep breath then pinches the bridge of his nose.

You give Raelee a strong, encouraging smile.

Travax says, "During the trial, Malluch alluded to the fact that he was not alone in his "undertaking"."

Cruxophim nods slowly at Travax.

Xorus nods slowly.

Lylia agrees with Travax.

Travax asks, "Is it possible he had help from the Hall of Mages, specifically Octaven?"

You gaze with interest at Travax.

You glance appraisingly at Raelee.

Raelee bluntly states, "No."

Speaking thoughtfully to Travax, Cruxophim murmurs, "That seems an odd place to begin speculation."

Travax says, "That would explain the device he used on Cruoxophim."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Travax says, "Sorry I mispronounced your name."

Travax blushes a nice shade of light pink.

Raelee says, "This is not her mode of operation."

Raelee says, "If she wants this town damaged, it will burn."

Speaking gently to Travax, Cruxophim assures, "Quite alright. Would it, however? That does not seem her-- yes, as the Magister said."

Travax says, "Octaven does have a grudge with us."

Cruxophim nods at Raelee.

Travax says, "Yes but this way, there is no link back to her."

Raelee slowly says, "The destruction will be vast and rapid."

Speaking thoughtfully to Travax, Cruxophim concedes, "Interesting theory, one worth at least considering."

Speaking to Travax, Shinann says, "I honestly cannot see the Hall of Mages being interested in local crimes. However, you never know."

Puptilian says, "There is a pretty decent amount of black market trading. Especially since many here have no issues with Rooks and Icemule Bandits doing trade here. I would think if price isn't an issue he could easily get any needed magical item."

You note, "We do have the protection of the pillars for her next attack, though--ah, if there is one, of course."

You simply say, "Hypothetically."

Lylia notes, "By his own admission under oath, he acquired that poison without knowing much about it. I cannot see what Octaven would have to gain thereby, and she seems a practical woman."

Speaking to Travax, Raelee says, "... I am not certain she would be particularly disturbed by such an act being linked to her."

Talinvor raises his hand.

Luxelle nods at Talinvor.

Travax says, "Perhaps but it also keeps it out of the Hall."

Cruxophim nods absently at Lylia.

Xorus says, "His use of a glyph trap to bring Cruxophim into a magic suppressing temporal rift was if anything an idea he stole from spying on myself."

Speaking to Travax, Raelee says, "... I do not know if that would be a problem either."

Travax says, "Just a passing thought I had."

Shinann nods at Travax.

Lylia nods at Travax.

You muse, "I suppose the Far Market from Icemule could also potentially deal in such items... a long way to travel, but anything is possible."

Raelee says, "A lot has happened here."

You shrug.

With deft motions, Lylia fans herself with her open black feather fan.

Xorus says, "Unfortunately, we are not going to know who supplied him or worked with him, unless we extract the information with extraordinary methods."

Raelee slowly says, "... and yet I am still alone here."

You nod at Xorus.

Cruxophim nods absently to you.

You nod sympathetically at Raelee.

Cruxophim agrees with Xorus.

Ardwen says, "Poisons are easily acquired, one just has to find the proper gardens."

Ardwen chuckles.

Lylia smiles at Ardwen.

You gaze in amusement at Ardwen.

You clarify, "This poison is... not exactly an ordinary one. It took from Crux his ability to use magic."

You frown at Cruxophim.

Travax says, "Just after our last encounter with her, it seemed she was not done with us."

Travax nods at Luxelle.

Raelee dryly says, "Besides. If Octaven had designs on destroying this town, I would prefer to think she might inform me."

You grin crookedly at Raelee.

Cruxophim nods absently to you.

Speaking to Raelee, Travax says, "That would leave you without plausible deniability."

Xorus says, "His gauntlets vaguely reminded me of the enruned white ora bracers Grishom used to wear. But this may just as well be meaningless. Their properties were reminiscent of Order of Voln powers."

Question #2, From Ardwen, Answered By Lylia: One Price Specifics

Luxelle asks, "All right, then, ready for the next question?"

You ponder the meaning of Xorus's existence.

Luxelle says, "Ardwen has the floor for the next question."

Luxelle nods at Ardwen.

Cruxophim nods absently at Xorus.

You take a moment to observe everything you can about Ardwen.

Lylia smiles at Ardwen.

Ardwen says, "My query is for the new mayor."

Lylia grins.

Ardwen stares at Lylia.

Cruxophim grins at Lylia.

Lylia says, "How could I have guessed."

Speaking to Xorus, Ysharra says, "As the Magister pointed out, most of what he's done are not exceptions to what we ourselves do."

You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement.

Evician raises his hand.

Luxelle nods at Evician.

Shinann appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Xorus nods at Ysharra.

Speaking to Travax, Raelee says, "... we can discuss it further later, if you wish."

Ardwen asks, "You requested a one price policy for all people, did you inform merchants to reduce prices to the curent minimums or allow them to increase them for all?"

Ardwen peers quizzically at Lylia.

Travax nods at Raelee.

Puptilian chuckles.

Puptilian says, "A true merchant."

Lylia begins chuckling at Ardwen!

You chortle.

Ardwen says, "Pragmatic."

Luxelle shifts her weight.

Cruxophim grins at Puptilian.

Ardwen says, "And it is very pertinent to the poor of the town."

Cruxophim grins at Ardwen.

Lylia says, "I have left that to our merchants' discretion, with the understanding that they must still earn a living -- but not from the flesh of the Faendryl. Or the Dhe'nar, or the forest gnomes, or even the half-Krolvin among us."

Cryheart says, "Or the poor."

Ysharra asks, "The merchants here for the most part don't sell to the poor, do they?"

Ysharra folds her hands behind her back.

Cruxophim gives Lylia a strong, encouraging smile.

Lylia smoothly says, "I am certain they will arrive at prices that are equitable for all. Especially as I am overlooking the roughly two and a half million silvers they have personally taken from me."

Speaking wryly to Cryheart, Talinvor adds, "That's what charity is for."

Ardwen says, "Of course they do."

Lylia flashes a quick grin at Cruxophim.

Ardwen says, "The poor must eat."

Cryheart says, "Which mostly goes to the orphans."

Speaking to Ardwen, Lylia says, "I hope that answers your question."

Cryheart nods at Talinvor.

Cryheart says, "Which I am in favor of."

Ardwen shrugs.

You nod at Cryheart.

Ardwen says, "We'll see what the merchants do shan't we."

Speaking to Ardwen, Lylia says, "For what it is worth, I have never known you to charge some of us more than others based on our birth."

Meureii just arrived.

Lylia says, "So whether your prices are low or usuriously high, they are uniform."

Lylia says, "One Landing. One price."

You nod to Meureii in greeting.

Lylia grins at Ardwen.

Cruxophim waves an arm about in an attempt to applaud.

Lylia nods in greeting at Meureii.

Ardwen says, "I fleece the rich more than the poor, not the elves more then the goblins."

Speaking respectfully to Lylia, Cruxophim chants, "One Landing, One Price!"

Cruxophim flashes a toothy grin.

Luxelle chuckles.

Lylia inclines her head.

You grin at Cruxophim.

(Evician stifles a chuckle in the direction of Cruxophim.)

Ardwen says, "Gnomes and Kobolds are very good customers."

Ardwen nods.

Cruxophim rubs Evician gently.

Puptilian agrees with Xorus.

Luxelle says, "Remember if you have a question tonight, raise your hand any time."

You nod at Xorus. [this and Pup's response were from a group whisper]

Question #3, From Talinvor and Ardwen, Answered By Cruxophim, Raelee, Puptilian: Malluch's Poisons, Mandis Crystals, and Other Anti-Magic

Luxelle says, "Talinvor has the floor for the next question."

Luxelle nods at Talinvor.

You amicably say, "Indeed, there's rarely a boring night in the Landing and always a lot to discuss--so anything on your mind."

You nod.

Lylia smiles at Talinvor.

You take a moment to observe everything you can about Talinvor.

Travax asks, "Ok who has the dead mouse in their pocket?" [referring to Crux decaying all night]

Travax ducks his head.

Lylia decorously says, "We do not talk about that."

With deft motions, Lylia fans herself with her open black feather fan.

Speaking thoughtfully to Cruxophim, Talinvor says, "Have you had the chance yet to study the poisons that afflicted you and also Goblyn? While yours may be harder to trace, hers may be easier to pinpoint the source - thus finding the source of the poison used on you."

You chuckle to yourself.

Cruxophim gazes in amusement at Talinvor.

Cruxophim whispers something to Talinvor.

Cruxophim winks at Talinvor.

You cock your head.

You glance between Cruxophim and Talinvor.

Speaking curiously to Cruxophim, you say, "It -is- our panelists' prerogative to answer privately or not at all, if you'd like."

You nod at Cruxophim.

Cruxophim gazes in amusement at you.

You grin at Cruxophim.

Ardwen says, "Wonder what a little ground Mandis crystal added to the drink of a mage would do to the ability to cast."

Berkana says, "Nothing."

Speaking calmly to Talinvor, Cruxophim answers, "Goblyn is quite fine, I assure you. I will leave you to draw your own conclusions from that."

Cruxophim gives Talinvor a strong, encouraging smile.

Berkana says, "The Mandis crystals are dead, they have no power."

You thoughtfully tap a finger against your lips.

Speaking to Cruxophim, Talinvor says, "I expected such, but it seems that his hope to do harm was not a ruse in of itself."

Cruxophim looks thoughtfully at Berkana.

With deft motions, Lylia fans herself with her open black feather fan.

Ardwen says, "Odd, the weapons made with them retain their powers."

Speaking mildly to Talinvor, Cruxophim implies, "Perhaps he overestimated his efficacy."

You rub your chin thoughtfully.

>look crux

Through a sinister black haze, you see Cruxophim trussed in a shroud of variegated scabs. His eyes are pools of black-infused blood reminiscent of injury and disease. Sanguine clotted matter occasionally leaks out of his pallid black-veined ceraceous skin, which is chiseled with mystical runes glowing with power.

You take a moment to observe everything you can about Cruxophim.

Speaking to Cruxophim, Talinvor asks, "On her, eii. But you it seems to have truly affected, neh?"

Ardwen exclaims, "Something to test!"

Speaking to Ardwen, Travax says, "But they are whole, not ground up."

Speaking tensely to Talinvor, Cruxophim answers, "Yes. More than is likely obvious."

Cruxophim twists his head slightly, cracking his neck. He looks relieved.

Ardwen says, "They are shards of a whole."

Travax says, "Well, semantics but yes."

Meureii removes a Mandis Crystal shard from in his canvas tote.

Meureii sniffs at his Mandis Crystal shard.

Speaking reasonably to Talinvor, Cruxophim adds, "But I'm sure we'll have it sorted out in good time."

Lylia narrows her eyes.

Lylia shifts her eyes to Meureii.

Meureii put a Mandis Crystal shard in his canvas tote.

Cruxophim looks thoughtfully at Meureii.

Raelee takes a slow, deep breath then pinches the bridge of her nose.

Ardwen exclaims, "Well well, a new suspect!"

Luxelle whispers to the group, "Any last comments?"

Speaking seriously to Cruxophim, you say, "We will. The town can't afford to fail you in this."

You give Cruxophim a strong, encouraging smile.

Luxelle nods at Raelee.

Lylia whispers to the group, "No, not from me."

Speaking amusedly to Ardwen, Meureii says, "Because that's exactly what I would do."

Meureii yips a short bark that is immediately followed by a grunt of doubt.

Speaking to Luxelle, Raelee says, "I would like to speak on Mandis, for a moment."

You nod understandingly at Raelee.

Lylia gazes with interest at Raelee.

Luxelle nods at Raelee.

Xorus leans on his runestaff.

Cruxophim turns an inquisitive ear toward Raelee.

Luxelle makes a writing motion at the zoetic quill.

Ysharra draws her mithril dagger. It makes a strange sound as it slides from her case, like the distant scream of a forlorn soul.

Cruxophim gives a sidelong glance at Ysharra.

Raelee pedantically says, "The large Mandis crystals were destroyed. The shards do maintain their anti-magic properties."

Ysharra says, "I thought a visual might assist."

Raelee clearly says, "However... the efficacy of those properties is often vastly overstated."

Cruxophim folds his arms, appearing to listen intently. He nods from time to time.

You nod faintly at Raelee.

Ysharra put an elegant mithril dagger in her haon weapons case.

Raelee says, "In addition, Mandis is not the only method of interfering with magic... and in truth, it is a fairly impractical one."

Raelee says, "Shards of Mandis are a limited resource, and it is highly unlikely to see another such crystal created again."

Ardwen says, "It however points blame south quite well."

Cruxophim nods absently at Raelee.

Raelee says, "It does require a rather significant blood sacrifice, after all."

Raelee says, "That is all."

Raelee nods to you.

You quip, "Not as if we've heard anything about sacrifices for the blood god from anyone lately..."

You glance upward and whistle quietly, an innocent look on your face.

With deft motions, Lylia fans herself with her open black feather fan.

Cruxophim snickers at you!

Puptilian says, "Raznel has found a way to stop magic and passed it on to the knights during the Talador seige."

Ysharra asks, "What did Stephos use, the night he attacked Malluch?"

You nod at Puptilian.

Speaking to Ysharra, you reply, "Plinite."

Ysharra asks, "Could we ask him, or his wife?"

Lylia nods at Ysharra.

Speaking mildly to Puptilian, Cruxophim agrees, "It does seem in line with her methodology well, as a distinct vector."

Ysharra asks, "Where they got it from, and if there was more?"

Speaking carefully to Puptilian, Cruxophim adds, "Apart from Mandis crystals."

Xorus says, "I am not aware if we ever found out for certain what that crystal was beyond speculation."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Puptilian says, "I like to know what she uses."

Travax asks, "But would grinding a piece of plinite hold or release its magic?"

Ysharra nods at Xorus.

Speaking absently to Ysharra, Cruxophim notes, "Could be worth looking into it."

You ponder.

Speaking mildly to Puptilian, Cruxophim says, "A form of blood magic, I presume, intended to sever such flows."

Puptilian shrugs.

Puptilian says, "She is good with it."

Ysharra folds her hands behind her back.

Cruxophim calmly announces, "As for the original question: we have not, at this time, been able to determine what the exact compound used was... and thus, no means to cure it. However, I do welcome any thoughts or theories on such, of course, and I thank everyone who has already offered such."

Cruxophim gives you a strong, encouraging smile.

You nod eagerly at Cruxophim.

Speaking solemnly to Cruxophim, you repeat, "We cannot and will not fail you."

Cruxophim grins bravely, ignoring his obvious pain.

You turn toward Cruxophim and render a sharp hand salute.

Cruxophim nods appreciatively to you.

Speaking to Travax, Raelee says, "Hold."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Travax says, "Maybe a bath in the Voln cleansing bath."

Travax ducks his head.

Travax nods at Raelee.

You gaze in amusement at Travax.

Speaking amusedly to Travax, Cruxophim assures, "A terrible idea, alas, given certain preexisting conditions."

Cruxophim flashes Travax a toothy grin.

Travax grins at Cruxophim.

Cruxophim laughs through his pain, grinning stoically.

Raelee says, "Plinite is the energy of an elemental magically put into solid form. It does not so much hold magic as it is magic."

Speaking to Xorus, Ysharra asks, "I also didn't think it had been identified. It is curious timing. Same night Lylia was kidnapped, as well, no?"

Cruxophim nods faintly at Lylia.

Travax nods at Raelee.

You nod at Ysharra.

Lylia nods at Ysharra.

Cruxophim grins wryly at Eiliriel.

Speaking to Raelee, Travax says, "That perfectly answered my question."

Luxelle smiles.

Cruxophim nods absently at Travax.

Statement #1, From Evician, Answered By Cruxophim, Lylia, Puptilian: Lingering Guilt

Luxelle says, "Our next question is the last one on my list, if you have a question to discuss with the panel, now is the time to raise your hand."

You nod in agreement at Luxelle.

Luxelle says, "Evician has the floor for the next question."

Luxelle nods at Evician.

Lylia smiles at Evician.

You take a moment to observe everything you can about Evician.

Evician slowly empties his lungs.

Shinann glances at Evician.

Speaking to Ysharra, Xorus says, "Yes. He was shot with a bolt and struggling, because the field impaired his gauntlets. That was when he held Lylia hostage."

Evician darkly asks, "It is more a statement than a question if i may?"

Cruxophim grins at Eiliriel bravely, ignoring his obvious pain.

Lylia says, "Of course."

(Evician's sobs are heard from the covering of his face.)

You furrow your brow, probably adding a wrinkle or two in the process.

Cruxophim rubs Evician gently.

Evician darkly says, "Last night or the night before, I made a horrible mistake."

Cruxophim begins a careful examination of Evician -- he takes his pulse, checks his temperature, and checks for broken bones or any other ailments.

Cruxophim looks at Evician with concern.

With a graceful economy of movement, Lylia folds a shadowy black feather fan neatly closed.

Lylia narrows her eyes.

Speaking concernedly to Evician, you ask, "Are you quite alright?"

Luxelle shifts her weight.

You frown.

Evician darkly says, "I took a bribe for a verdict that I had already made long before I was chosen as a juror."

Evician darkly says, "No I am not alright. Please allow me to finish."

You nod at Evician.

Evician darkly says, "I caused a man's murder, of which I never meant."

You raise an eyebrow in Evician's direction.

(Evician rasps in pain and clutches his cheek as if trying to control his sobbing and breathing.)

Cruxophim raises his eyebrow, the fractured bone shards set within only enhancing his skeptical expression.

Cruxophim looks thoughtfully at Evician.

Evician darkly says, "I want to apologize for Deckits' death, for losing the judge's faith in me during the process, and for letting my friends and others down."

Eiliriel cautiously says, "You are not responsible for the actions of others that arise from your own. You were not holding the rope."

Evician darkly says, "I hold myself responsible."

Speaking carefully to Evician, Cruxophim offers, "I cannot speak for Deckits, of course, but I sure he appreciates your accountability."

Lylia gently reminds, "You did not cause this murder, with due respect. Those who acted outside the courts, outside the law, are the ones responsible. The Judge's faith is a matter that is also to be investigated."

(Evician breathes slowly as he gazes around with aster gems for eyes and ragged breathing.)

Lylia says, "The crowd of ruffians assembled quickly."

Lylia sets her mouth in a thin line of disapproval.

Shinann glances askance at Evician.

Lylia walks toward Evician.

Lylia gently rests her hand on Evician's shoulder.

Evician darkly says, "I went home last night and laid in my bed and prayed for forgiveness and heard nothing from Koar.."

Speaking to Lylia, Ysharra says, "Almost as if they were looking for a reason to -"

Lylia whispers something to Evician.

Cruxophim nods absently at Lylia.

Lylia nods sympathetically.

Lylia nods.

Evician darkly says, "I woke up in a cave north of Icemule in Pinefar with this on my face and a dead frost giant with my lance through its head."

Speaking mildly to Lylia, Cruxophim remarks, "Apologies I could not make it, I was indisposed."

Lylia glances meaningfully at Ysharra.

You give Cruxophim a strong, encouraging smile.

Lylia nods slightly.

Evician darkly says, "If I am cursed or dying, I don't know... but I hurt daily and again, I am sorry."

(Evician goes back to the corner and sits down.)

Lylia takes a few steps back.

Evician sits down.

Cruxophim nods reassuringly at Evician.

Lylia folds her hands.

Speaking reassuringly to Evician, Cruxophim offers, "Victims, aren't we all?"

Shinann folds her hands behind her back.

Cruxophim grins bravely, ignoring his obvious pain.

Evician nods at Cruxophim.

Speaking to Evician, Lylia says, "I realize my words cannot ease the burden of guilt you bear, but rest assured, you are not the one who bears it alone."

Lylia repeats, "Investigations continue."

Speaking to Evician, Puptilian says, "If you ever need a calm place to rest and meditate I highly recommend the gardens at Imaera's Shrine."

Lylia says, "And recompense is to be made."

Lylia nods once.

Evician nods at Lylia.

Speaking mischievously to Evician, Cruxophim muses, "Or the Orchard."

Cruxophim flashes a toothy grin.

Cruxophim nods approvingly at Lylia.

Goldstr just arrived.

Cryheart says, "We cannae always see far down the road as to what obstacles will come, but you can learn by experience."

Evician darkly says, "I have things crawling throughout my body......"

Goldstr bows.

You nod in agreement at Cryheart.

Speaking disapprovingly to Lylia, Cruxophim inquires, "So mob justice, in Deckits' particular case?"

You turn toward Goldstr and render a sharp hand salute.

Speaking to Evician, Travax says, "If you woke in Koar's shrine, perhaps he did hear you but what answer I cannot say."

You lightly say, "The Judge's punishment was a fine--it was others waving cudgels on their own who went after Deckits, as I recall."

You nod at Cruxophim.

Speaking darkly to Travax, Evician says, "I assure you, it was not my Lord's shrine."

Cruxophim disdainfully laments, "I had hoped this town was beyond that, but I suppose that will never truly be the case."

Travax says, "That is near where it is. Believe me I know."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Lylia says, "Mobs will persist until someone breaks them."

Speaking fondly to Lylia, Cruxophim praises, "Which makes me that much more appreciative for your efforts toward equality."

Travax says, "I am from there and follow Koar as well."

Cruxophim turns to Lylia and bows low, spreading his wings for all to see.

Cruxophim suddenly stumbles for no apparent reason.

Cruxophim leans against the hearth, taking a momentary rest.

Xorus says, "They may as well have been vigilantes executing another name that had been on Malluch's list."

Lylia inclines her head.

Speaking darkly to Travax, Evician says, "It was not...his shrine...."

Cruxophim nods grimly at Xorus.

Cruxophim looks thoughtfully at Evician.

(Evician shows Cruxophim his arms of the 13 cuts on one arm and 6 on the other.)

Cruxophim examines Evician closely, sizing him up and taking note of all the details.

A steady stream of blood trickles down from Cruxophim's swathed stygian bands.

Speaking seriously to Evician, Cruxophim advises, "My friend, perhaps you should find someone to monitor you. This is... alarming, to say the least, and unusual behavior."

Lylia flicks her black feather fan briefly open and then flicks it closed again in one sharp movement.

Lylia put a shadowy black feather fan in her wrap.

Lylia begins a careful examination of Cruxophim -- she takes his pulse, checks his temperature, and checks for broken bones or any other ailments.

You nod grimly at Cruxophim.

You ponder the meaning of Evician's existence.

Speaking to Evician, Ysharra says, "I get marks like that from my garden. And His Garden I serve, too."

Lylia nods at Eiliriel.

Shinann folds her arms over her chest.

Speaking concernedly to Evician, you say, "Indeed, you haven't seemed well at all lately... the m--Crux is right."

You reach over and gently rest your hand on Evician's arm.

Mister Pukk just arrived.

You grin at Pukk.

(Evician leans towards Ysharra and whispers, "These are blood letting marks.")

Speaking to Evician, Ysharra says, "No kidding."

Evician darkly says, "The cuts are deep from my knife."

Speaking absently to you, Cruxophim agrees, "I would not place such a miscarriage of justice upon Mayor Lylia, that is certain... or even Renpaw. Thus is the danger of Rone's seditionist message."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Lylia says, "Indeed."

Speaking curiously to Cruxophim, you ask, "Hrm? Did I speak my thoughts aloud?"

You work your fingers under your gold tiara and scratch your head.

Speaking to Evician, Roelaren says, "His death is not on your head, ye do not have to mourn in such a way."

Speaking mildly to you, Cruxophim clarifies, "The issue with Deckits, not Evician."

Lylia says, "Although I am surprised Judge Renpaw was not more concerned himself about how his own power was usurped."

Cruxophim nods in agreement at Lylia.

Lylia mildly says, "He and I shall have to speak on that. It would not do for the courts to be so undermined."

Cruxophim rubs Evician gently.

Cruxophim gently rests his hand on Evician's shoulder.

Speaking darkly to Roelaren, Evician says, "I mourn for him none the less."

Roelaren says, "I know that ye do hun."

Speaking distantly to Cruxophim, you say, "I suppose, even if I didn't speak them tonight, I did speak them the other night--vice and virtue being two sides of the same coin, and the independent spirits in our town being as able to build us up as to tear us down."

Lylia says, "If the people no longer believe in the force of justice, then they are left with...well. Force alone."

Speaking to Lylia, Shinann says, "He is old and was probably asleep by the time that happened."

Lylia examines her fingernails.

Speaking gently to you, Cruxophim reminds, "You stated a moment ago that the Judge's punishment was a fine--it was others waving cudgels on their own who went after Deckits, as you recalled. That is what I was referring to."

You nod at Cruxophim.

Speaking quietly to Evician, Ysharra asks, "Are you having nightmares?"

Evician nods emphatically at Ysharra!

Lylia surveys the area.

Lylia asks, "Are there more questions?"

Lylia raises an eyebrow.

Speaking softly to Evician, Ysharra says, "I am sorry. You appear to be under a Shadow."

Luxelle gazes in awe at a copper-bound white leather notebook in her hand.

Luxelle looks over at Lylia and shakes her head.

Speaking carefully to Cruxophim, you say, "Yes... our townspeople believe in their own ability to create change, and sometimes we see--unfortunate outcomes of that. Though for the most part it's for the better."

Travax says, "Perhaps some form of sleeping potion will help hold back the nightmares."

You ponder the meaning of Luxelle's existence.

Speaking gently to Evician, Cruxophim assures, "We'll find a solution to whatever is happening to you, as well, my friend... whatever it may be."

Speaking amicably to Luxelle, you say, "We can certainly wrap up, if we have no more questions, but--"

You curiously request, "Are there any last questions this evening for our panel?"

You glance appraisingly around the room.

Question #4, From Roelaren, Answered By Lylia: Citizen Discounts

Roelaren raises her hand.

Luxelle nods at Roelaren.

Lylia gazes fondly at Dergoatean.

You smile at Roelaren.

Roelaren smiles.

Dergoatean grins at Lylia.

Luxelle says, "Aha! We did have a question."

Lylia whispers something to Dergoatean.

Roelaren says, "My question is for Mayor Lylia."

Luxelle says, "Roelaren has the floor for the next question."

Luxelle nods at Roelaren.

Cruxophim turns an inquisitive ear toward Roelaren.

Lylia nods at Roelaren.

Lylia says, "Of course."

Lylia smiles.

Roelaren grins at Lylia.

Lylia flashes a quick grin at Dergoatean.

Roelaren says, "I was curious about the merchants and Landing."

Lylia nods at Roelaren.

Roelaren says, "I believe as ye that to many are charged more than should be."

Goldstr exclaims, "One Price, One Landing!"

Lylia nods emphatically at Goldstr!

You grin at Goldstr.

Lylia nods in agreement at Roelaren.

Roelaren says, "I do believe that the citizens of Landing deserve a break in the charges by merchants however."

Cruxophim grins at Goldstr.

Roelaren asks, "How do ye feel about that?"

Lylia says, "I calculated my personal losses at somewhere north of two and a half million silvers over the course of my time here."

Cruxophim loudly chants, "One Price, One Landing!"

Cruxophim coughs.

Goldstr lets out a cheer!

Cruxophim grins bravely, ignoring his obvious pain.

Speaking to Lylia, Berkana says, "That's almost two very nice gowns."

Cruxophim makes a pathetic attempt to wring out the blood from his swathed stygian bands.

Lylia says, "Citizens already receive a discount, thanks to their continued custom."

You grin at Berkana.

Pukk rubs Cruxophim tenderly.

Cruxophim winces.

Cruxophim leans softly against Pukk.

Lylia says, "If merchants wish to continue their discounts to citizens, by all means."

Speaking to Lylia, Roelaren says, "I was hoping that would be how ye felt as well."

Lylia says, "I am, after all, a citizen."

Lylia chuckles.

Pukk quietly asks, "So is it all races other than humans that are getting cheated?"

Speaking to Lylia, Roelaren says, "But other than than all charged the same."

Speaking to Pukk, Ysharra says, "I don't believe they charge me differently."

Lylia says, "But this is not about what benefits me personally. It is about the most equitable solution for our merchants, our citizens, and our visitors -- whom I hope to attract in greater numbers."

You nod at Ysharra.

Speaking to Pukk, Goldstr says, "Nae all, some worse den others."

Speaking to Pukk, Lylia says, "No."

Pukk quietly says, "Huh, I didn't know that."

Pukk raises his hands in surrender!

Luxelle nods at Pukk.

Speaking to Pukk, Lylia says, "Faendryl, Dhe'nar, forest elves, and half-krolvin pay more. In the case of that last, considerably more."

Speaking gently to Pukk, you say, "That is why we are here. To learn and grow together."

You nod at Pukk.

Luxelle chuckles.

Luxelle nods.

Roelaren agrees with Lylia.

Cruxophim nods approvingly at Lylia.

Speaking to Roelaren, Lylia says, "I hope that answers your question in full."

Lylia smiles.

Roelaren says, "Yes."

Cruxophim gives Lylia a strong, encouraging smile.

Roelaren says, "And thank ye."

Lylia inclines her head.

Lylia warmly says, "Of course."

Roelaren smiles at Lylia.

Cruxophim tensely apologizes, "Do pardon a moment, all."

Shadowy tendrils rise from the ground and wrap around Cruxophim's legs as they quickly engulf his entire body. The shadows quickly retreat back into the surroundings, leaving no trace of Cruxophim.

Speaking angrily to Meureii, Pukk asks, "They make you pay more?"

You concernedly sigh, "Poor Crux."

Meureii nods at Pukk.

Speaking to Meureii, Ysharra asks, "You have that problem nearly everywhere, do you not?"

Pukk frowns.

Dergoatean raises his hand.

Luxelle nods at Dergoatean.

You nod grimly at Ysharra.

Meureii nods at Ysharra.

Speaking to Ysharra, Lylia says, "So do we."

Speaking to Meureii, Ysharra asks, "Save, perhaps, Mist Harbor?"

Melikor agrees with Lylia.

Pukk quietly says, "I know the nations do the same only in reverse but that isn't right."

Meureii says, "Aye, unfortunately that is a problem that is faced everywhere."

Lylia says, "Mist Harbor. Cysaegir. These are the only two towns in which I am not robbed."

Lylia scowls.

Travax asks, "Even Icemule?"

Lylia says, "Yes."

Lylia nods at Travax.

Roelaren says, "I get a discount because I am a citizen but being an Elf causes some to charge me more than say humans."

Pukk quietly says, "I agree with Sir Amiright."

Shadowy tendrils rise from the ground and quickly coalesce into a humanoid form. As quickly as they appeared, the shadows retreat back into the surroundings, leaving Cruxophim in their place.

Luxelle says, "One might never know there were different price schedules if you do not have friends who could tell you. Compare prices with."

Cruxophim slowly empties his lungs.

Luxelle shakes her head.

Reaching over his shoulder, Cruxophim draws his illthorn runestaff from a series of straps on the back of his black harness.

You nod in agreement at Luxelle.

Goldstr turns toward Pukk and renders a sharp hand salute.

Cruxophim leans on his runestaff.

Lylia says, "It is an outrage that I earned the votes of the citizenry here, and yet the merchants still feel free to abuse my purse."

Roelaren agrees with Luxelle.

Eiliriel dryly says, "Or if they did not all but spit upon you."

Cruxophim nods at Luxelle.

Lylia nods at Eiliriel.

Speaking to Lylia, Ysharra says, "And be very snappish about it, too."

Cruxophim nods grimly at Eiliriel.

Xorus says, "It is rather blatant when there are price lists and they are clearly adding surcharges."

Speaking to Luxelle, Lylia says, "Indeed. How fortunate we are, then, that we are such a diverse community."

Lylia adds, "And that we talk among ourselves."

Lylia smirks as a haughty expression flits across her face.

Puptilian leans against an old brick hearth.

Luxelle says, "And the last question on my list..."

Lylia nods at Xorus.

Roelaren agrees with Lylia.

Shinann says, "I have dealt with prejudice my entire life. I would like it if this town's merchants could come to an agreement, at least about prices."

Lylia agrees with Shinann.

You nod in agreement at Shinann.

Dergoatean nods at Luxelle.

Roelaren agrees with Shinann.

Question #5, From Dergoatean, Answered By Cruxophim, Lylia, Puptilian, Raelee, Xorus, Shinann: Locksmiths and Scarabs

Luxelle says, "Dergoatean has the floor for the next question."

Luxelle nods at Dergoatean.

Lylia smiles at Dergoatean.

You say, "We are better off than Ta'Vaalor, but not perfect by any means--there is room to improve."

Dergoatean says, "Simple question, really."

You take a moment to observe everything you can about Dergoatean.

Dergoatean asks, "Do scarabs belong to the picker or the customer?"

Dergoatean ducks his head.

Lylia raises her voice in merry laughter.

Cruxophim turns an inquisitive ear toward Dergoatean.

Luxelle starts chortling.

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Dergoatean!

Shinann begins chuckling at Dergoatean!

Speaking quietly to Shinann, Pukk says, "I only treat you different because you are taller than me and you scare me sometimes."

Pukk grins at Shinann.

Luxelle exclaims, "Oh! Can I answer?!"

Shinann grins at Pukk.

Speaking lightly to Dergoatean, Cruxophim teases, "They belong to me, if I may."

Cruxophim flashes Dergoatean a toothy grin.

You amusedly say, "Well, that's for all our panel, so yes."

You grin at Luxelle.

Speaking quietly to Cruxophim, Pukk says, "I need you to examine me if you could."

Speaking raspily to Dergoatean, Cruxophim offers, "I'll buy 'em at a high price!"

Lylia says, "The customer, technically. By custom, the picker. It is a largely unspoken agreement, one that is more than fair."

Luxelle praises Dergoatean, expounding upon his fine features and excellent characteristics.

Dergoatean says, "I'll take my answer from the safety of a major sanctuary, well away from whatever brawl I cause. Thank you."

Cruxophim cocks his head at Pukk.

You snicker at Dergoatean.

Speaking to Shinann, Ysharra says, "You can be quite stern."

Dergoatean grins at Lylia.

Ysharra winks at Shinann.

Puptilian says, "Depends on the situation and locksmith service at hand. I gladly give scarabs to the picker but if he or she does not give good service I have been known to keep the bugs myself."

Puptilian shrugs.

Raelee offers, "Raznel does have a penchant for utilizing scarabs. Take that as you will."

Dergoatean adopts an agreeable expression.

Speaking quietly to Cruxophim, Pukk says, "Something must be wrong with me. I didn't accept the silvers."

Shinann grins at Ysharra.

Cruxophim begins a careful examination of Pukk -- he takes his pulse, checks his temperature, and checks for broken bones or any other ailments.

Pukk flails his arms about.

Speaking confusedly to Pukk, Cruxophim inquires, "What for?"

Shinann asks, "Did anyone answer him?"

Luxelle asks, "Mister Goat?"

Luxelle glances at Shinann.

Xorus says, "They should belong to the one that kills it, and if it is the scarab that kills, then the scarab should be given what was possessed by its victim."

Speaking wryly to Ysharra, Cruxophim teases, "Shinann? Surely not."

Xorus says, "This is only fair and just."

You gaze in amusement at Xorus.

Luxelle chuckles.

Speaking quietly to Cruxophim, Pukk says, "I had this weird feeling like something wrong with my stomach and this nagging thing in my head."

Lylia grins at Xorus.

Shinann says, "I would always say it goes to the picker."

Shinann nods.

Speaking to Cruxophim, Ysharra says, "Well. Determined, perhaps."

Gorku smiles at Lylia.

Lylia grins at Gorku.

Speaking to Gorku, Lylia says, "Good to see you."

Speaking calmly to Dergoatean, Cruxophim agrees, "I'd say the owner of the box as well, provided an generous tip."

Speaking deeply to Lylia, Gorku exclaims, "Good to see you too!"

Gorku grins at Lylia.

Wrapping Up

Luxelle says, "All right, are ther any last questions tonight? Please raise your hand."

You mention, "This will be the last call for questions this eve, but we will reconvene on the 15th as well."

Luxelle nods to you.

You glance appraisingly around the room.

Speaking mildly to Dergoatean, Cruxophim clarifies, "In my own case, I typically offer to buy back the scarab with a compensatory addition to the tip."

You nod understandingly at Cruxophim.

Pukk whispers something to Cruxophim.

Luxelle begins chuckling at Eiliriel!

Eiliriel smiles quietly to herself.

Cruxophim whispers something to Pukk.

Puptilian says, "If you all excuse me but off to bed. Good night everyone."

Cruxophim winks at Pukk.

Puptilian just went south.

You curtsy gracefully.

You glance south.

Cryheart yells, "Niters Pup!"

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Luxelle! [response to a group whisper]

Shinann grins at Cryheart.

You nod at Luxelle.

A steady stream of blood trickles down from Cruxophim's swathed stygian bands.

Cruxophim yells, "Night Pup!"

Cruxophim makes a wheezing sound.

Cruxophim pounds a circular veil iron plate with his fist, causing it to shake slightly.

Cruxophim grins wryly.

You pleasantly say, "Well, it seems he left right on time anyway, as the floor is -officially- closed for questions tonight."

You add, "However!"

Roelaren hugs you, and you wrap her in a warm embrace.

You hug Roelaren, who wraps you in a warm embrace.

Speaking darkly to Luxelle, Evician says, "I wish you a safe journey home."

Lylia hugs Roelaren, who wraps her in a warm embrace.

Cruxophim hugs Roelaren.

Cruxophim kisses Roelaren on the cheek.

Roelaren waves.

Roelaren smiles at Cruxophim.

Lylia glances between Dergoatean and Xorus.

Cruxophim gives Evician a friendly hug.

Luxelle stands up.

You recite:

"Tonight's Town Hall meeting is officially concluded, and on behalf of the TownCrier we once again thank everyone for coming out and hope to see many of you on the 15th or 19th!"

Luxelle put a copper-bound white leather notebook in her satin circle cape.

Luxelle nods.

Speaking concernedly to Evician, Cruxophim reminds, "Get someone to keep an eye on you."

Luxelle exclaims, "Thank you everyone!"

Cruxophim applauds you.

You recite:

"Panelists and audience members are welcome to remain for continued discussion as long as all are interested, however!"

Cruxophim applauds Luxelle.

Speaking darkly to Cruxophim, Evician asks, "My otter?"

Lylia smiles at you.

Cryheart adjusts Shinann's leather buffcoat, improving its ability to support the weight of her gear.

Lylia nods respectfully at Luxelle.

Shinann grins at Cryheart.

Shinann says, "Thank you."

Cryheart grins at Shinann.

Cryheart bows.

Eiliriel carefully asks, "Does not a town meeting every seven or so days seem quite often?"

Shinann bows.

You recite:

"We sincerely appreciate all interest and hope we can continue making the Landing an amazing place together."

Travax asks, "Ok where is the washroom in this place?"

Speaking carefully to Evician, Cruxophim ventures, "Is your otter able to convey detailed information on your state of physical, emotional, and psychological health?"

Travax gestures.

Travax suddenly disappears.

The voice of Travax says, "Ahh I'll find it."

Cruxophim grins at Evician.

Evician darkly says, "Only by the bribery of treats."

Evician nods at Cruxophim.

Speaking to Eiliriel, you say, "We hold these meetings two or three times a month, depending on other events scheduled around town."

You nod at Eiliriel.

Cruxophim begins chuckling at Evician!

Shinann says, "Helga does not wash."

Cruxophim kisses Eiliriel on the cheek.

Shinann clears her throat.

Eiliriel kisses Cruxophim on the cheek.

Eiliriel nods slowly to you.

You grin crookedly at Shinann.

Shinann shifts her weight.

Evician darkly says, "He just freaks out."

Evician shrugs at Cruxophim.

Cruxophim gives Evician a strong, encouraging smile.

Speaking wryly to Shinann, you say, "Yes, well... we do keep our distance from her to the south."

Cruxophim tiredly wishes, "Fair evening, all."

Cruxophim bows low, spreading his wings for all to see.

You hug Cruxophim, stirring the scent of dry olibanum, vetiver, and black moss over opoponax and hints of blood from his skin, who wraps you in a warm embrace.

Berkana kisses Cruxophim on the cheek.

Cruxophim hugs you, and you wrap him in a warm embrace.

Speaking darkly to Cruxophim, Evician says, "He hasn't even seen me yet, I had a friend go to see him for me this evening."

Cruxophim kisses Lylia tenderly on the hand.

Speaking to you, Shinann says, "I was mostly talking about pots and pans."

Cruxophim kisses Berkana on the cheek.

Shinann grins. Speaking quietly to Chaoswynd, Pukk says, "Mr. Moneybags."

The zoetic quill in Luxelle's hand scrambles deftly up her arm and across her shoulder. From there it leaps up behind her ear and settles in.

You raise your eyebrows and make a show of gazing intently at Shinann, but stop short of wasting any words.

You blush and babble a few incoherent words, looking foolish but sincere.

Speaking sheepishly to Shinann, you say, "Oh."

You chuckle.

Interlocking her fingers above her head, Lylia stretches slowly, extending her spine in a satisfying stretch.

You grin impishly at Shinann.

Lylia attends to her silver mesh headband, making the headband as presentable as possible.

Shinann chuckles.

You hug Chaoswynd, who wraps you in a warm embrace.

Chaoswynd hugs you, and you wrap him in a warm embrace.

Speaking to Lynaera, Luxelle exclaims, "Thank you ever so much!" [Lynaera is one of the TownCrier's staff and had been helping people find where the Dining Room was]

Lynaera beams happily at Luxelle!

Cruxophim tugs on his cloak and the shadows completely engulf him.

Speaking to Luxelle, Lynaera says, "Just happy to help."

Speaking to you, Luxelle says, "That was marvelous as usual, thank you so much for shepherding this crew."

You grin at Luxelle.

You give Luxelle a friendly hug, stirring the scent of the unique tanginess of the sea from her skin.

Luxelle grins.

Luxelle curtsies gracefully.

Lady Luxelle just went south.

You warmly say, "You're an inspiration to us all--"

You glance south.

Lynaera snickers at you!

Lylia grins at you.

You conclude, "And no doubt very busy."

You chuckle.

Lylia agrees with you.

You amusedly say, "Both related, too."

You nod.

Lylia whispers something to Eiliriel.

Lylia grins at Eiliriel.

Eiliriel grins at Lylia.

Lynaera says, "It is always fun coming to these. It gets me out from Ta'Vaalor for a night. It's STILL snowing, there."

You add, "Thank you again to audience and panelists alike!"

Lylia nods at Lynaera.

You nod understandingly at Lynaera.

Lynaera shivers.

You grin at Lynaera.

Lylia bows to you.

Speaking appreciatively to Lynaera, you say, "Very good to have travelers from so far."

You curtsy gracefully to Lylia.

Raelee glances around the room.

You hug Lynaera, who wraps you in a warm embrace.

Ysharra glances at Raelee.

Speaking to you, Lynaera says, "I get around very quickly."

Speaking to Dergoatean, Lylia says, "Did you expect to start a war."

Lynaera gives you a friendly hug.

Lylia raises an eyebrow in Dergoatean's direction.

You raise your voice in merry laughter.

Speaking to Lylia, Dergoatean exclaims, "Of course not!"

Lynaera appears to be struggling to keep a straight face as she glances at Dergoatean.

Dergoatean winks at Lylia.

Raelee glances at Ysharra.

Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, "Thank you for the Mandis crystal comments. I don't think I've heard that explanation before."

Shinann smiles.

Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, "It helped answer some old questions."

Raelee nods slowly at Ysharra.

Lylia agrees with Ysharra.

You grin at Ysharra.

Speaking to Ysharra, Raelee says, "Mass matters."

Lylia says, "I always learn a great deal from these gatherings too."
