Title: Why Does Amber Make me Cry

Author: player of Charna Ja'Varrel'Kav

I met a man, a man with eyes like mine-
He promised he’d never lie-
And that’s what made us truly sublime.

I met a man, a man of sun and sky-
He promised he’d go slowly-
And I promised that I would at least try.

This man, with gold-flecks in his eyes-
Gave his heart to me-
His heart where absolute perfection lies.

This man, so much better then I could be-
Gave his very best to all-
And I was grateful for the peace he gave me.

I bathed in his light for a while its true-
But I am me,
And he was he, and I knew this wouldn’t do.

I bathed in his promise, of love with a friend-
But I am me,
And he was he, and I feared to watch him end.

So being me, I broke with the man with eyes like mine-
He was better then me,
And loved me enough to accept my ill resign.

So being me, I killed my heart again-
Still he’s better then me,
And let me go my way despite the pain.

We parted ways, under ill-fated night sky.
It’s what I had wanted-
So then why does amber still make me cry?
