Summary

  • Breshon arrives, having hoped to speak with Sir Cryheart, but in his absence he speaks with Bernadette, another member of the Order of the Silver Gryphon. He explains that some have become aware of Raznel's paragon and her being an Anodheles, but he's convinced his father--the Baron of Bourth--not to inform the Northern Sentinel of it. However, in return, the Baron wants the paragon safely retrieved alive, the Silver Gryphons to aid with such, and Pylasar taken into [[::Turamzzyrian_Empire|imperial]] custody.
  • Several in the crowd immediately react negatively, but Breshon continues with a wink that he's still catching up on sleep from restless nights when his sister [[::Larsya_Caulfield|Larsya]] was cursed and stretching resources in aiding the hungry during the blight--so if anyone misunderstands his father's requests, maybe it's "a simple miscommunication" from a tired Baron's son. He entrusts Bernadette to inform the Gryphons and she assures that she'll inform Sir Cryheart.
  • Before Breshon leaves, Leafiara inquires if he's aware of Cayde, the bleakstone trader. Breshon says he'd been in communication and heard his operation went missing several months ago in the Bleaklands. Leafi and Mayor Lylia explain Cayde's recent visit, delivery of the statue, and that we haven't heard from him since; Breshon says he hasn't either but will ask around.

Breshon En Route

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see an herbal remedy donation bin and some stone benches with some stuff on it.

Also here: Arena Heroine Leafiara, Razanetika, Orlicks, Bernadette, Great Lord Demicone, Ishtae, the body of Scruffylopolis who is lying down, Rhayveign, Lord Zolis, Lord Gutstorm, Shinann, Great Lord Mongonator, Pukk, Faennian, Lord Wrenkin who is sitting, Yanwyn, Lord Hevinsbane, Farven

Pukk recites quietly:

"Everybody join Leafi!"

Leafiara curiously asks, "Are we goin' somewhere?"

Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Pukk says, "I have been waiting to say that for a few minutes now."

Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Pukk exclaims, "Since Shiny isn't here, you are picked and deemed, leader of group!"

Shinann: "I am sure they are, just not sure where." [missed the context of what this was about]

Breshon: "Evening Mayor."

Speaking amusedly to Pukk, Leafiara says, "If ya say so."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Razanetika asks, "Did you bring a parasol?"

Leafiara curiously says, "Oh, Breshon. I guess his aid has arrived."

Breshon: "I'll be along to your office shortly Mayor. No desire to stand about in this rain."

Zosopage says, "Oh didn't realize it was raining even."

Pukk quietly exclaims, "Ah, to the mayor's office!"

Leafiara recites:

"Moving shortly!"

Pukk quietly exclaims, "Maybe we can add some rotting fish to her office!"

Speaking thoughtfully to Zosopage, Leafiara wonders, "Too much arena for you?"

Zosopage says, "Bank heist."

Zosopage says, "Was indoors."

Gutstorm yells, "There best be alchohol at the moothall!"

Lylia: "Understandable."

Speaking quietly to Bernadetta, Pukk exclaims, "Hi there!"

Bernadette grins at Bernadetta.

Speaking quietly to Bernadetta, Pukk exclaims, "Hey, wrong person!"

Leafiara recites:

"Alright then, moving!"

[Moot Hall, Mayor Lylia's Office] From a dais, the maoral desk and an ivory and velvet curule seat loom over two carved wooden chairs. Tapestry rugs cover the hardwood floor, their patterns complementing the arched windows flanking the desk. A stag's head stares at a panoramic fresco mounted opposite it. In a corner near the bar, a scarred witchwood perch rises to the high ceiling, while several feet away, a black iron stove rests against the west wall and is topped with a silver kettle. You also see a small maoral sideboard with some stuff on it, a maoral bookcase and a varnished modwir door.

Also here: Shinann, Zosopage, Sofal, Razanetika, Bernadette, Rhayveign, Lord Gutstorm, Great Lord Mongonator, Pukk, Arena Heroine Leafiara ,Lord Zolis

Zolis rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Zolis joins Leafiara's group.

Speaking quietly to Zolis, Pukk says, "Good choice."

Zosopage says, "Quick, everyone hide and scare Lylia when she comes in."

You notice Mongonator slip into a hiding place.

You notice Gutstorm botch an attempt to conceal himself.

Gutstorm exclaims, "Good idea!"

Zolis deeply says, "Just trying to keep up."

Gutstorm gestures while calling upon the lesser spirits for aid...

Gutstorm gestures.

A dense fog gathers around Gutstorm, but soon fills the room.

You notice Gutstorm slip into a hiding place.

The voice of Leafiara bemusedly says, "Oh, but now the group's broken up... ah well."

Mayor Lylia's group just came through a varnished modwir door.

Gutstorm comes out of hiding.

Gutstorm bellows at a maoral bookcase!

Gutstorm yells, "Booo!"

Zosopage comes out of hiding.

Zosopage flings himself against Lylia, bounces off of her, and giggles madly!

Pukk comes out of hiding.

Pukk yells, "Surprise!"

The voice of Leafiara amicably greets, "Evenin'!"

Pukk quietly exclaims, "Happy birthday!"

The voice of Mongonator says, "Im stalking her."

Razanetika softly says, "They are all horrible hiders."

Lylia says, "Thank you, Pukk. That is very sweet of you."

The voice of Mongonator says, "Like a big jungle cat."

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Pukk asks, "So, how old are you little girl?"

Lylia says, "Four hundred and thirty-four."

Bernadette softly asks, "How me giant self gonna hides?"

Speaking to Razanetika, Zosopage says, "What do you expect wearing 40 pounds of metal."

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Pukk exclaims, "You don't look a day over five hundred!"

Razanetika blinks at Leafiara.

Mongonator asks, "Give or take 400...?"

Razanetika softly says, "I didn't see you hide."

Lylia simply says, "I shall look as I do for another millennium, or more."

Lylia removes a light grey clay cup from in her wrap.

Lylia carefully placed a light grey clay cup on an oak bar.

Lylia carefully placed a light grey clay cup on an oak bar.

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Pukk says, "I know you pointy ears live a long long time. But when you are a Pukk. Everyday counts."

Lylia removes a light grey clay cup from in her wrap.

Lylia carefully placed a light grey clay cup on an oak bar.

Strings Attached to Silence

Lord Breshon just came through a varnished modwir door.

Breshon grins.

Breshon bows.

>look bres

You see Lord Breshon Caulfield.

He appears to be a Human from Bourth.

He is average height. He appears to be youthful. He has midnight blue eyes and tanned skin. He has short, curly dark tawny hair worn in a ponytail. He has an angular face, a small nose and the faint shadow of scruff growing below his dimpled cheeks. He has a single hawk feather braided into the right side of his hair.

He is in good shape.

He is wearing a crystal amulet, a heavy grey fur-lined cloak, a slender black yew bow, some studded dusty white leathers, a black and white iron signet ring, an oiled grey leather back quiver, a pair of fitted black trousers, and some crisp black leather hunting boots.

Breshon says, "Evening."

Leafiara amicably greets, "Evenin'!"

Lylia says, "Good evening to you."

Pukk recites quietly:

"Everybody join Mayor Lylia!"

Zosopage says, "Evening."

Breshon says, "It feels like forever."

Breshon smiles.

[various people joining]

Lylia offers Breshon a light grey clay cup.

Breshon accepts Lylia's grey clay cup.

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Pukk says, "That's the power of Pukk."

Breshon smiles.

Breshon bows to Lylia.

Breshon takes a drink from his grey clay cup.

Lylia removes a matte black silver-edged teacup atop small claw-like feet from in her wrap.

Lylia places a hand over her heart.

Lylia bows to Breshon.

(OOC) Kipara's player whispers to the group, "That's the power of Pinesol, baby."

Zosopage pours himself a stein of fiery gold ale.

Speaking quietly to Breshon, Pukk says, "I like the feather in the hair. Looks pretty good."

Breshon frowns.

Zosopage takes a drink from his fiery gold ale.

Warded off!

Zosopage's eyes glaze over slightly and his face pales.

Zosopage is stunned!

Felita just skipped merrily through a varnished modwir door.

Speaking quietly to Felita, Pukk says, "Join Lylia."

Speaking amusedly to Zosopage, Leafiara says, "You really -have- been spending a lot of time at Bloodriven."

Gutstorm says, "I'll have what he's having."

Pukk quietly says, "Oh you did already."

Felita says, "Okie dokie."

Zosopage says, "That's better."

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Pukk exclaims, "Now, we have hidden some dead fish somewhere in your office...it is up to you to find it!"

Zosopage says, "This is what got Cryheart drunk."

Speaking to Breshon, Lylia says, "You are looking well."

Pukk glances at a miniature encaustic portrait.

[Moot Hall, Mayor Lylia's Office]

From a dais, the maoral desk and an ivory and velvet curule seat loom over two carved wooden chairs. You also see the Sofal disk, the palm frond-shaped Leafiara disk, a fuzzy inky black marmoset, a small maoral sideboard with some stuff on it, a maoral bookcase and a varnished modwir door.

Also here: Chaoswynd, Felita, Lord Breshon, Avalera, Falvicar who is sitting, Kipara, Shinann, Xorus, Mayor Lylia who is sitting, Arena Champion Madmountan, Zosopage, Sofal, Razanetika, Bernadette, Rhayveign, Lord Gutstorm, Great Lord Mongonator, Pukk, Arena Heroine Leafiara, Lord Zolis

Lylia nods slightly at Pukk.

Pukk quietly says, "Hard to read...I see Silver something."

Lylia says, "Silvean."

Pukk quietly exclaims, "Ah, Silver rash!"

Breshon twists his head slightly, cracking his neck. He looks relieved.

Breshon takes a drink from his grey clay cup.

Breshon says, "I am as well as can be. We've people suffering."

Breshon says, "I hope some aid I'd brought can help, at least temporarily."

Breshon says, "I had hoped to speak with Sir Cryheart..."

Breshon glances at Bernadette.

Breshon asks, "You are a Gryphon, yes?"

Speaking quietly to Breshon, Pukk says, "I don't know much first aid...sorry."

Bernadette softly says, "I am."

Breshon nods.

Breshon says, "Word travels fast."

Speaking quietly to Bernadette, Pukk says, "I thought you were a really tall human or a dwarf that forgot to stop growing."

Speaking quietly to Cruxophim, Pukk exclaims, "Cruxy!"

Speaking to Breshon, Lylia says, "Of course. We have, naturally, begun to step up imports, and I have ensured that the shipments are small and frequent. It does no good for grain or salt-fish to rot on the docks."

Breshon says, "Some have become aware of...this paragon."

Lylia asks, "This specific paragon and her unusual nature, you mean?"

Lylia clarifies, "Unusual even for...well, whatever a paragon has become, that is."

Breshon says, "An Anodheles."

Xorus says, "Elder sibling of the late Empress, no less."

Speaking quietly to Breshon, Pukk says, "Bless you."

Breshon says, "If we can still call..her..it...that."

Shinann says, "It appears so."

Breshon asks, "We can be honest here, yes?"

Leafiara curiously says, "Always."

Pukk quietly says, "Sure."

Lylia says, "Of course."

Breshon says, "I feel you all and I have been through a lot."

Xorus says, "Indeed."

Speaking casually to Breshon, Cruxophim assures, "Of course."

Breshon says, "You've saved my sister."

Bernadette softly says, "Aye."

Gutstorm says, "Nothing a stiff drink cant fix."

Madmountan says, "Like burned meat."

Leafiara approvingly agrees, "Yup."

Breshon says, "My father is never one to pass up a chance to enhance his favor."

Zosopage says, "No point in lying else this would be a rather pointless meeting."

Breshon says, "He's gotten worse with age sadly. The man wants a legacy...all the while ignoring his true legacy."

Kipara hoarsely says, "He should take up painting."

Breshon says, "I have convinced my father not to inform the Northern Sentinel yet of what we've learned."

Leafiara amicably says, "Excellent."

Breshon says, "I cannot speak for anyone else who knows, but, my House...for now, says nothing."

Breshon says, "But that silence did not come without a price."

Breshon says, "The Baron requires two things."

Pukk whispers something to Leafiara.

Breshon says, "The safe acquisition, if you will, of this paragon. Alive. Secondly, Pylasar is to be taken into imperial custody."

Madmountan says, "Alive."

Madmountan laughs!

Shinann asks, "What?"

Bernadette softly says, "What indeed."

Pukk quietly asks, "Wait...what?"

Breshon says, "Furthermore, I am to instruct the Silver Gryphons to aid in the retrieval of the paragon, alive."

Madmountan says, "I'm pretty sure you can just hang that request up."

Leafiara suggests, "Maybe we should go with the 'don't keep a secret' plan instead."

Implications

Breshon says, "Now, given what I've shared of my father's demands..."

Breshon says, "Here is what I will tell you."

Breshon says, "I am exhausted. I am still catching up on sleep from all of those restless nights while my sister endured her curse while my father grew fatter in Bourth."

Lylia says, "Entirely understandable."

Breshon winks.

Breshon says, "Because of this exhaustion..."

Bernadette softly says, "Aye."

Breshon says, "I am a little unclear on my father's demands."

Breshon winks.

Zosopage says, "Wink wink, nudge nudge."

Lylia says, "And if the paragon should be struck down quickly, as often happens in the haste and confusion of battle -- and there is likely to be one, is there not, as Raznel will know of what we intend...well."

Breshon says, "In addition, the speed of which I act, well, I'm exhausted. Our resources are stretched in aiding the hungry here."

Breshon says, "I cannot imagine the pace of which I accomplish some tasks as being quick."

Lyrna mildly says, "They have been trying times."

Pukk quietly says, "Well, considering that we have both Falvicar and Roblar here....I doubt we will be able to bring in the paragon alive..."

Breshon says, "So if you misunderstand my delivery of my father's requests..."

Lylia agrees, "Bringing in a man such as Pylasar is not an easy task either. You are worn. As are we all. Stretched quite thin."

Breshon says, "Perhaps it is a simple miscommunication from a tired Baron's son."

Breshon grins.

Bernadette softly says, "Ye wish him unharmed."

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Pukk says, "I didn't hear anything about bringing in Pylasar...so...shhhhh."

Breshon says, "I trust you to delivery this message to the Gryphons."

Breshon nods at Bernadette.

Bernadette softly says, "I shall."

Lylia says, "I detest lies. But some truths are more convenient than others."

Breshon yawns.

Lyrna says, "It does seem an unlikely task, and perhaps we can consider it once the rest of the tasks before us are completed."

Bernadette softly says, "I will take it to Sir Cryheart himself."

Breshon says, "See, so tired."

Cruxophim innocently remarks, "I didn't hear much, in this crowded room."

Breshon says, "I shall return to the Outpost now, to visit my sister, who you all helped save."

Speaking to Breshon, Shinann says, "You do look tired. I do not see how you remembered the way to town."

The Case of Cayde

Speaking surreptitiously to Breshon, Leafiara says, "Say, before you go..."

Speaking quietly to Bernadette, Pukk says, "If you tell Sir Shiny, he will take his time....just like everything else."

Speaking politely to Breshon, Cruxophim offers, "Regards."

Speaking to Breshon, Leafiara inquires, "Do you happen to know of a man named Cayde? A trader dealing in bleakstone?"

Breshon nods to Leafiara.

Speaking curiously to Breshon, Leafiara asks, "Working with you or...?"

Lylia asks, "He has been scarce about town. Has he left on another such expedition?"

Breshon says, "Of him, yes. I had been in some communication with him."

Leafiara nods understandingly.

Breshon says, "Last I had heard by all accords, his operation went missing in the Bleaklands."

Zosopage says, "Leafi must be totally exhasted with all the arena runs. That or they're tired of bringing out new monsters for her."

Shinann asks, "When was that?"

Lylia says, "Ah. A pity."

Breshon says, "Which is not uncommon among those seeking some fortune or adventure there."

Speaking to Breshon, Leafiara asks, "And that was... when?"

Lyrna says, "The creatures do get tired of dying, I'd think."

Breshon says, "Several months ago."

Leafiara remarks, "...odd."

Breshon asks, "Odd?"

Leafiara explains, "He had visited here more recently, you see..."

Breshon asks, "Well, I suppose that is good news then?"

Lylia adds, "Delivered the statue that stands out in front of Moot Hall."

Breshon says, "If he lives."

Lylia says, "For now."

Breshon says, "But he has not contacted me."

Cruxophim affably states, "Gotta run, good eve all."

Leafiara continues, "He seemed to be looking for shelter at a local inn, but we've heard nothing of him since."

Xorus says, "Presuming that was actually him."

Breshon says, "I cannot say I have either. I'll ask around."

Leafiara admits, "I'd wondered why he didn't go to the outpost, but... well, maybe he went elsewhere."

Lylia says, "I have been trying to speak to the man, learn more about the 'admirer' who sent such a rich gift."

Breshon says, "In my life, "admirers" never turned out good."

Lylia says, "You would know him if you saw him, certainly."

Speaking musingly to Xorus, Leafiara says, "Also a good point. Someone assuming the name..."

Breshon nods.

Lylia says, "In four hundred years, you meet a few who are genuine."

Lylia says, "And many who are less than sincere."

Breshon says, "Goodnight everyone."

Breshon bows.

Lord Breshon just went through a varnished modwir door.
