Summary

 • Thadston meets adventurers in the mayor's office, where he praises them for the defense last night and says we've temporarily gained some ground--though Raznel is probably repairing Disean's armaments or preparing something else. Dame Evia asks about the lost food, but Thadston says Lord Breshon's resources weren't added to the storehouses since they suspected they would be targets.
 • Cruxophim mentions he heard about Thadston pulling some tricks, and Captain Stormyrain says "tricks indeed," so the marshal asks if she has something to say. Stormy says what Thadston pulled was beneath him and should have been discussed with his leadership. Thadston responds that he'll do what's necessary against Raznel and it's not like he dug up Walkar's corpse, nor does he need her approval.
 • Stormy tells Thadston he has no regard for anyone or anything but his revenge; he asks if she has a child, and if not then not to lecture him. She whispers something to him; he says his illusion paid off, but Stormy's illusion of being an effective captain has worn thin. She says he needn't worry about that, while Thadston says she's had years to end Raznel yet here we are--just before Stormy leaves the room and he slams the door behind her.
 • Thadston asks if anyone else takes issue with his tactics. As Dame Evia, Sir Cryheart, and Zosopage admit they didn't see the tactics because they were away or dead, Thadston explains the details: he used an illusion crafted by Pylasar to appear as Walkar and bait out Disean. No one else voices objections, though Thrassus says it took a toll on Thadston and Crux says the trick won't work twice; Thadston says he'll be fine and acknowledges the illusion won't work again.
 • Thadston says we'll go after the first paragon in two nights and reiterates that it's to kill the paragon and isn't a mission of rescue, regardless of the paragon's bloodline. He checks with Cryheart if there are any questions; Cryheart mentions the baron's request to capture her, but Thadston says he'll speak with Breshon; Cryheart also mentions Breshon's indication not to notify Earl Jovery, and Thadston says he will--when we're done.
 • Elphieya asks if there's no way to spare the paragons, but Thadston says the paragons are shells beyond saving, with Larsya only being rescued because her transformation was slowed down. Goat draws a comparison to releasing the undead, though Thadston clarifies that they aren't actually undead, but abominations.
 • Chamorr raises a question of unintended consequences and possible war with the Turamzzyrian Empire, but Thadston says he's not worried about that.
 • Goat asks if this will happen in the present time; Thadston says they're pockets of time, valences, like hidden caverns in time.
 • Soneiken asks if there's a way to get Grishom Stone to have his golems help defend the town from Raznel; Thadston says don't even contemplate it.
 • Thadston says we can't waver nor trust what we think we see, but do what we know to do. Goat asks how, then, we know who to kill since there could be innocent bystanders made to look like the paragon; Thadston just says he'd put nothing past the witch and that he won't think anything of it if some aren't prepared to go or choose not to.
 • Thadston checks with Magister Raelee aboout the coffin; she says it's roughly two weeks out and will come with the rest of the mages.
 • Sir Bristenn asks Thadston how he knows what he does about the paragons; Thadston says he's going off the word of Pylasar, who helped create them, but doesn't know if the paragon will look like a giant maggot or an angel. Bristenn says black and white no longer exist in the decisionmaking; Thadston says he's welcome to stand aside like he did when Talador tried to burn the Landing. Brstenn says he kept his word and is merely asking questions.
 • Soneiken asks Thadston to make clear that his interest is in saving the town and its way of life without clouded judgment from saving his son. Thadston says he'll end Raznel for every reason: to save the town, save his son, avenge his wife, stop the Bleaklands, and end the witch's wrongs.
 • Thadston moves to leave, but first pauses and seizes Rhayveign, telling her to "Tell her we're coming" and wanting Raznel to see how helpless she is.

Calm Before the Storm

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see an herbal remedy donation bin and some stone benches with some stuff on it.

Also here: Sorkein, Jeramin, Tayre, Lord Adrath, Lady Avariona, Bernadette, Drakeen, Event Planner Leafiara, Razanetika who is kneeling, Shyspirit, Lord Gutstorm, Lord Chamorr, Zosopage, Pukk, Great Lord Demicone, Lady Wintersylph, Lord Mjolek, Lord Hevinsbane, Ekaterena, Falvicar, Sir Cryheart

The sky begins to fill with huge clouds, dark and grey on the bottom, pale and white atop, their puffy crowns ascending toward the heavens.

Speaking quietly to a pale-faced coppery barn owl, Pukk exclaims, "I know there are a lot of owls around town lately, but we know you are the one owl to rule them all!"

Gutstorm says, "I bet Owly tastes like chicken."

Speaking amusedly to Razanetika, Leafiara says, "Well, speaking of the weather..."

Razanetika softly says, "Bah."

Cryheart says, "Dinnae think that."

Cryheart just nudged Gutstorm.

Gutstorm asks, "Just a nibble?"

Speaking to Wintersylph, Zosopage says, "If I were to call him anything I'd call him an acorn cause he's nutty."

Cryheart says, "Not even a lick."

Speaking softly to Pukk, Wintersylph asks, "Heard you were now a Squire?"

Speaking gently to Razanetika, Leafiara asks, "Ah, how bad could it be?"

Speaking to Razanetika, Leafiara reminds, "Thadston's acts yesterday did buy us some time..."

Speaking quietly to Wintersylph, Pukk says, "I'm too round to be a square."

Speaking optimistically to Razanetika, Leafiara asks, "So they can't be back so soon, right?"

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Razanetika says, "I got killed by Disean last night... enough said."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr asks, "How ya know?"

The ground trembles as rolling thunder resounds throughout the sky.

Hypnotized for a moment, you find yourself watching the dancing flames surrounding Leafiara's autumn-hued sandals.

Razanetika softly says, "Now the ground is trembling."

Speaking to Chamorr, Leafiara says, "Well... because all the crusaders turned to dust after Disean's armor broke."

Speaking speculatively to Chamorr, Leafiara says, "It has to mean something, but I dunno what yet."

Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Pukk exclaims, "Have you been dancing a lot lately? Your feet are on fire!"

Thadston: "Eve."

Speaking pleasedly to Pukk, Leafiara says, "They're just my battle sandals."

Leafiara: "Evenin'!"

Stormyrain: "How..observant of you."

Speaking to Leafiara, Gutstorm says, "They look like flip flops."

Zosopage: "Evening, sir."

Cryheart asks, "Rain clouds?"

Speaking softly to Pukk, Wintersylph says, "You should try livin like that owl you speak so fondly to, sit around at night and stare with big eyes, and occasionally feed when fed, kinda like speak when spoken to."

Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Pukk says, "If you stop washing them for a couple of weeks, the fire should go out."

Thadston: "I'll be along shortly. We've some things to discuss on our next actions."

Leafiara wonders, "Maybe he wants to get rid of the statue now?"

Speaking quietly to Wintersylph, Pukk says, "Owlie is teaching me. But I can't get past the speaking when spoken to part. So I start up the conversation first."

Rendena softly asks, "Rain huh?"

Gutstorm says, "Rain makes me has to tinkle."

Speaking flatly to Gutstorm, Leafiara says, "As long as ya go do it somewhere else."

Cryheart: "Rain clouds around Landing."

Pukk recites quietly:

"Everybody should join Cryheart, your friendly Shiny Knight"

Thadston: "I'll use the Mayor's office."

Zosopage says, "Mayor's office."

Thadston: "I don't care for the rain tonight."

Evia: "Will you be serving the tea then?"

Elphieya quietly asks, "I heard Thadston is going to be in the mayor's office?"

Gutstorm says, "I hope she has sophisticated drinks in her office, like grog."

Speaking to Elphieya, Leafiara affirms, "Seems so!"

Cryheart asks, "Now?"

Stormyrain says, "I'm sure she will love that."

Cryheart asks, "Err..when did ye hear that?"

Stormyrain says, "He said it on the net."

Speaking to Cryheart, Leafiara explains, "He just said it over thoughts."

Elphieya quietly says, "Just now."

Cryheart says, "Movin."

Dergoatean: "Come to think of it, is it ever clear skies when you're around, Thadston?"

Cryheart asks, "In the mayor's office?"

[various nods]

Thadston: "One day."

Gutstorm says, "The mayor REALLY likes me."

Elphieya quietly says, "That's what he said."

In a botched imitation, Pukk quietly exclaims, "Oh, Lylia! Oh how I miss thee!"

In a fair imitation of Cryheart, Pukk quietly exclaims, "Oh, Lylia! Oh how I miss thee!"

Talk Before the Storm

Sir Cryheart's group just went through a varnished modwir door.

[Moot Hall, Mayor Lylia's Office]

From a dais, the maoral desk and an ivory and velvet curule seat loom over two carved wooden chairs. Tapestry rugs cover the hardwood floor, their patterns complementing the arched windows flanking the desk. A stag's head stares at a panoramic fresco mounted opposite it. In a corner near the bar, a scarred witchwood perch rises to the high ceiling, while several feet away, a black iron stove rests against the west wall and is topped with a silver kettle. You also see a scaled fire wyrdling, a small maoral sideboard with some stuff on it, a maoral bookcase and a varnished modwir door.

Also here: Stormyrain, Shinann, Lord Arianiss, Soneiken, Elphieya, Felita, Avalera, Dame Evia, Pietra, Zosopage, Bernadette, Razanetika, Lord Gutstorm, Lord Chamorr, Pukk, Event Planner Leafiara, Falvicar, High Lady Rendena, Sir Cryheart, Dergoatean, Magister Raelee who is sitting

Cryheart says, "Magister Raelee."

Speaking curiously to Raelee, Leafiara asks, "You fillin' in for Lylia tonight?" [as she was in there before Cryheart's group]

Raelee says, "... greetings."

Speaking evenly to Leafiara, Raelee says, "If that is what is required."

Speaking amicably to Raelee, Leafiara says, "Well, makes as much sense to me as anything else around here lately."

(OOC) Cryheart's player whispers to the group, "Interesting, my net is on..and I did not hear the thought."

Speaking quietly to Cryheart, Pukk says, "I know it's not Lylia, but you can still smooch Raelee if you want."

Speaking to Pukk, Evia says, "No."

Cryheart says, "You can send a lighting bolt at him."

Cryheart nods at Raelee.

Lord Thadston just came through a varnished modwir door.

Speaking quietly to Evia, Pukk says, "Are you jealous."

Thadston nods.

Thadston says, "Eve."

Cryheart says, "Lord Thadston, good eve."

Speaking heartily to Thadston, Chamorr says, "Howdy."

Leafiara amicably says, "Evenin' there. Hope you're feeling a bit better after last night."

Evia says, "Good Evening to you."

Zosopage says, "Good evening."

Speaking to Thadston, Raelee says, "... Thadston."

Speaking casually to Thadston, Cruxophim greets, "Evenin'."

Speaking quietly to Thadston, Pukk says, "We are just discussing Cryheart's new love...Lylia."

Thadston says, "Strong efforts and defense last night all. We've gained some ground, temporarily, but, we'll take it."

Speaking amusedly to Thadston, Cruxophim purrs, "Heard you pulled some tricks."

Evia asks, "Gained ground, lost all the food, I hear?"

Stormyrain says, "'Tricks' indeed."

Thadston says, "I'm sure that witch is repairing her warrior's armaments now, or preparing something else entirely."

Speaking cautiously to Evia, Leafiara says, "Not -all- the food."

Thadston says, "Not all the food is lost. Some was spared."

Speaking quietly to Thadston, Elphieya says, "That is a relief to hear."

Thadston says, "Lord Breshon's resources were not added to the storehouses in town."

Thadston says, "We suspected it would be a target."

Evia says, "Good to hear."

Speaking surreptitiously to Thadston, Cruxophim suggests, "We could offer her a statue. Maybe with a surprise inside."

Thadston nods at Cruxophim.

The Storm

Thadston peers quizzically at Stormyrain.

Thadston asks, "Do you have something to say Captain?"

Soneiken says, "We're going to hide Pukk in a Statue."

Speaking lightly to Soneiken, Leafiara says, "...she sure won't expect -that-, at least."

Zosopage says, "Oh that would be torture to us, not Raznel."

Speaking quietly to Thadston, Stormyrain says, "What you pulled last night was beneath you, and it should have been discussed with your leadership."

Thadston asks, "Excuse me?"

Evia says, "Hmm."

Thadston glares at Stormyrain.

Speaking to Zosopage, Soneiken says, "A few days of Pukk's hecklins and constant banter, and she'll wanna cease fire for sure."

Stormyrain settles her gaze on Thadston, watching him intently.

Speaking to Cruxophim, Dergoatean asks, "Maybe a nice big horse statue?"

Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Pukk whispers aloud, "This got interesting real fast."

Stormyrain raises her chin slightly in a show of defiance.

Cryheart merrily skips a few steps back, grinning impishly.

Speaking heavily to Pukk, Leafiara sighs, "That's one way of putting it."

Speaking to Soneiken, Zosopage says, "True but then all of the Landing would clear out."

Shinann raises an eyebrow in Cryheart's direction.

Speaking slowly to Thadston, Cruxophim ventures, "You two want to be alone?"

Thadston says, "I will do what is necessary to land blows against Raznel and her puppets."

Cryheart whispers something to Shinann.

Falvicar reasonably says, "He stopped the attacks. If anything, we should be thanking Thadston for doing that."

Thadston says, "It's not like I dug up Walkar's corpse and wore it as a macabre cloak. I did what was needed for a measure of surprise, and I certainly don't need your approval Captain."

Speaking to Thadston, Stormyrain says, "As you always do with no regard for anyone or anything else but you being hellbent on revenge."

Stormyrain smiles.

Speaking coolly to Thadston, Cruxophim jests, "Been there, done that."

Speaking quickly to Stormyrain, Cruxophim adds, "Kidding."

Thadston asks, "I'm curious, are you with her now too?"

Stormyrain says, "You're right. You don't. Nor my support, it seems either."

Thadston peers quizzically at Stormyrain.

Speaking to Cruxophim, Dergoatean asks, "Are you though?"

Thadston says, "Revenge..."

Thadston smirks.

Stormyrain rolls her eyes.

Thadston asks, "Do you have a child Stormyrain?"

Thadston says, "No? I think not."

Stormyrain flinches.

Speaking surreptitiously to Dergoatean, Cruxophim wonders, "Am I?"

Thadston asks, "Then do not lecture me on this. Do you understand?"

Stormyrain whispers something to Thadston.

Cryheart says, "Everyone take a deep breath."

Dergoatean exclaims, "Well, as a parent... !"

Stormyrain leans against some simple arched windows.

Dergoatean says, "They always say."

Thadston says, "At least my illusion paid off. Your illusion of being an effective Captain has worn thin with little to show for it."

Stormyrain smiles.

Speaking to himself, Dergoatean says, "Ooooooooh."

Thadston says, "I will do what is necessary to take this war to Raznel. Period."

Speaking gently to Thadston, Cruxophim protests, "That's uncalled for!"

Stormyrain says, "Indeed. You needn't worry about that, then. As you wish."

Thadston says, "If you disagree with your Marshal, well, you've had years to end her."

Thadston says, "...and here we are."

(Stormyrain bows mockingly towards Thadston.)

Razanetika softly says, "This conversation should not be happening amongst the masses..."

Stormyrain just went through a varnished modwir door.

Speaking evenly to Thadston, Cruxophim assures, "She's doing her best to defend our town, same as any of us."

Speaking to Razanetika, Leafiara mouths, "Ya think?"

Evia says, "Oh no."

Thadston slams the door closed behind Stormyrain.

Regrouping

Elphieya quietly says, "Umm, that..."

Thadston asks, "Anyone else have an issue with my tactics last night?"

Leafiara calmly says, "Well then... hopefully on to fighting the real enemy instead of each other."

Speaking to Thadston, Evia says, "I did not see them."

Dergoatean says, "Those poor trees..."

Razanetika softly says, "It's very discouraging to those of us not in leadership to hear there is problems within the very leadership we're trying to follow."

The voice of Pietra says, "The trees didn't seem to like it."

Cryheart says, "I cannae discuss what is or is not, as I dinnae observe last eve."

Speaking to Thadston, Zosopage says, "I was a bit dead in TSC at the time. In my opinion there aren't any bad tactics that work in war."

Speaking to Thadston, Soneiken asks, "Is there a way for us to bypass her anti-magic capabilities she bestows on her Crusaders/Serpents and the likes, seems like that's what is making things rough for us whose skills are magical in nature? You have any suggestions?"

Cryheart says, "War always has casualties."

Thadston says, "Pylasar had aided me in using an illusion that allowed me to appear, for a brief moment, as Walkar in the battlefield. It was enough to send the minotaur zealots retreating, and baited Disean."

Chamorr heartily says, "Pick up a sword."

Speaking to Soneiken, Leafiara agrees, "That's definitely been the biggest problem. It hinders at least half our defenders."

Speaking absently to Cruxophim, Raelee asks, "Hmm?"

Thrassus says, "Avoid them."

Pukk quietly says, "Use ballistas."

Speaking in Elven, Lyrna says, "It seemed like a reasonable tactic, to me, at the time."

Lyrna clears her throat.

Evia says, "Hmm interesting ruse."

Lyrna says, "It seemed like a reasonable tactic, to me, at the time."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Chamorr says, "I got some thanks."

Speaking to Thadston, Thrassus says, "I noticed it seemed to take quite a toll on you, however."

Thadston says, "I will be fine."

Bernadette softly asks, "Ye needed the element o' surprise?"

Speaking curiously to Thadston, Cruxophim notes, "They won't fall for it twice, however."

Zosopage says, "She will get over it, I would think. It was only an illusion after all."

Lyrna offers, "You do seem like you're feeling better this evening."

Thadston says, "No. They won't."

Speaking calmly to Thadston, Cruxophim explains, "She can be... very tempremental at times. She doesn't care for me, I have no idea why."

Thadston says, "She'll be fine."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Dergoatean says, "Could show up as Elithain Cross next time."

Chamorr heartily says, "Although."

Zosopage says, "If anything you honor him in a way."

Imperial Concerns

Thadston says, "Now, before my tactics were questioned so openly..."

Thadston says, "I won't take much of your time but to tell you..."

Speaking heartily to Thadston, Chamorr says, "Parent or not, revenge leads to mistakes, so keep yer head."

Thadston says, "Eve of Leyan. We're going after the first paragon we've found."

Goldstr says, "Aye Bear."

Leafiara approvingly says, "Excellent news."

Dergoatean asks, "Two nights from now?"

Lyrna says, "Two.."

Thadston nods at Dergoatean.

Lyrna smiles at Dergoatean.

Thadston says, "I've heard the Baron of Bourth sent news."

Cryheart says, "Ahh...good."

Rendena softly says, "So.."

Zosopage says, "So the day after tomorrow."

Thadston says, "And there's been a bit of confusion."

Thadston says, "So let me make it very clear."

Thadston says, "For some."

Thadston glances between Cryheart and Raelee.

Thadston says, "We're going to kill a paragon."

Cryheart says, "Please clarify."

Rendena softly asks, "Why are you going after paragons?"

Thadston says, "Ours is not a mission of rescue. Imperial blood or not."

Dergoatean says, "As opposed to saving one, I suppose."

Gutstorm says, "To stop Raznel from resurrectin."

Thadston asks, "Any questions?"

Thadston peers quizzically at Cryheart.

Speaking coolly to Thadston, Cruxophim muses, "Obviously, I'm in."

Speaking quietly to Rendena, Elphieya says, "The only way to get to Raznel and weaken her."

Elphieya quietly says, "Is there no way to spare the lives of the paragons? They are victims too."

Speaking to Thadston, Dergoatean asks, "What can you tell us about the paragon?"

Speaking quietly to Rendena, Pukk says, "Because two gones, don't make a right."

Thadston glances at Elphieya.

Speaking to Thadston, Evia asks, "So are you saying this paragon...is a certain one mentioned by a baron's son?"

Cryheart says, "I had a concern that there was a possible request the Baron of Bourth said to capture the paragon."

Speaking evenly to Thadston, Raelee says, "There was no confusion, save for what Baron Caulfield created."

Thrassus asks, "What are the chances the paragon's relatives will retaliate?"

Stormyrain: "Casting guards in the center of town."

Thadston says, "There's always victims in war."

Speaking to Thadston, Dergoatean asks, "Is it anchored in present time, at least?"

Speaking to Elphieya, Gutstorm says, "You gotsa break an egg to make an omelette."

Thadston nods at Raelee.

Chamorr heartily asks, "Imperial blood gonna get spilt?"

Lyrna says, "That, I know, has been discussed and we've been looking at possibilities, but I don't think we've come up with any better options."

Thadston says, "I'll have a word with Breshon."

Zosopage says, "I would guess the paragons basically died when Raznel made them paragons."

Leafiara musingly asks, "Has the Chronomage been able to figure out anything we should know about that we should prepare for in this... trip?"

Cryheart says, "And that he indicated we were not to notify the Earl Jovery."

Cryheart squints.

Cryheart says, "Good."

Cryheart says, "Afore I do."

Cryheart nods at Thadston.

Lyrna says, "Other possibilities."

Pukk whispers something to Leafiara.

Speaking calmly to Thadston, Cruxophim assures, "Believe me, you needn't lecture some of us on the high cost of war."

Thadston says, "I'll notify Jovery."

Rendena softly says, "Not all."

Thadston says, "...when we're done."

Speaking heartily to Thadston, Chamorr says, "Is this gonna bring that damn empire on us again."

Rendena softly says, "I am still alive."

Ghosts and Shells

Thadston says, "These paragons are shells. Ghosts of themselves. There is no saving them, Pylasar has made it clear."

Cryheart says, "That clarifies it then."

Dergoatean says, "Bit like releasing undead, I suppose."

Thadston says, "The only reason Larsya was saved because her transformation was slowed."

Thadston says, "If we had a thousand years, perhaps we could."

Thadston says, "We don't."

Arianiss says, "Huh."

Evia asks, "So Larsya was an intended, but not completed one?"

Speaking heartily to Thadston, Chamorr says, "Could you answer the question."

Cryheart whispers something to Raelee.

Speaking quietly to Chamorr, Elphieya asks, "About the empire?"

Chamorr heartily says, "Yes."

Speaking to Evia, Leafiara affirms, "According to Pylasar, at least... yeah."

Thadston nods at Falvicar. [assumed whisper exchange]

Speaking carefully to Thadston, Raelee says, "There is still some merit in investigating... just why Caulfield was so confused, as you put it."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "Hey it's da mayers office."

Speaking to Dwi, Gutstorm says, "No stinking up the mayors office."

Thadston asks, "I'm sorry, what question Chamorr?"

Speaking to Chamorr, Hapenlok says, "It doesn't matter. If we fail, they're the least of our problems."

Zosopage whispers something to Leafiara.

Leafiara whispers something to Zosopage.

Thadston says, "They are not undead."

Lyrna says, "I believe the question was whether this will bring the empire down on us."

Thadston says, "They are just...abominations."

Elphieya quietly says, "Though, if we fail having a second problem won't be good either."

Speaking heartily to Thadston, Chamorr says, "This paragon we gonna whack, is the unintended consequences gonna war with the empire again."

Thadston says, "I am not worried about the Empire."

Speaking to Thadston, Goldstr asks, "Da paragons are undead?"

Thadston says, "They are not undead."

Speaking heartily to Goldstr, Dwi asks, "Both o em?"

Thadston says, "As Pylasar described them to me."

Speaking to Goldstr, Dergoatean says, "I just meant to suggest that if their life is already torment, we might look at killing them in a similar light to how we release undead."

Thadston says, "But they are..."

Speaking to Goldstr, Dergoatean says, "As a sort of blessing."

Evia asks, "So it's like if some evil being sucked all the Cryheart juice out of Cryheart and replaced it with Juice of Evil Doing?"

Thrassus asks, "You have access to a chronomage, yes?"

Speaking to Chamorr, Hapenlok says, "And honestly, it's not just about this town. Not anymore, if it ever was."

Thadston says, "They are not salvagable."

Speaking decisively to Dergoatean, Leafiara agrees, "I'm with ya."

Speaking quietly to Dergoatean, Elphieya says, "That is a good way to look at it."

Speaking to Chamorr, Hapenlok says, "So if they want revenge, they'll have to wait in line."

Time Pockets

Speaking to Thadston, Dergoatean asks, "Are we going to do this in the present?"

Thadston says, "No."

Speaking amusedly to Evia, Cruxophim mutters, "I'd suck that! Evil Cryheart juice."

Gutstorm says, "Cryheart juice..."

Cruxophim casually runs the tip of his tongue over the point of one of his sharply filed fangs, somehow managing to appear both threatening and seductive at the same time. His eyes suddenly glow with a shadow-infused sanguine hue.

Cruxophim gives Cryheart a sidelong glance and curls his lips into a lascivious leer.

Evia pinches Cruxophim!

Speaking to Thadston, Dergoatean asks, "...when?"

Thadston asks, "Pylasar explained that they exist in pockets of time, as he described it. Essentially, what I guess you'd call a valence?"

Speaking quietly to Thadston, Elphieya asks, "Is there a place for anyone to help or only those who are most experienced?"

Cryheart says, "That sounds uninviting to be certain."

Speaking quietly to Gutstorm, Pukk says, "Cryheart happy juice."

Thadston says, "It is how she's kept them hidden and safe. Think of a hidden cavern within time itself."

Speaking earnestly to Elphieya, Leafiara says, "There's -always- a place for healers."

Thrassus says, "Said chronomage might be able to devise a way to make a thousand years pass in some dimensional pocket in a blink of the eye in our world. That may make it possible to salvage the paragons."

Speaking to Elphieya, Leafiara notes, "Though sometimes that's on the front lines, risking their lives, but..."

Speaking to Thrassus, Dergoatean says, "Feel free to check in with the chronomage about that."

Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Elphieya says, "I am not afraid of risking my life. I just want to help. You know I will be there."

Thrassus says, "It's only a suggestion."

Evia asks, "Uh...so uh..what else is in these Pockets of Time, guarding this Thing?"

Zosopage says, "A time bubble, protected from the rest of time unless you are there."

Evia says, "I hope someone knows."

Thadston says, "Pylasar said there will be challenges and dangers. Perhaps similar to when you all wandered into his mind."

Cryheart says, "That was indeed risky."

Leafiara muses, "So be ready for anything, got it."

Speaking to Thadston, Soneiken asks, "Okay, so we kill a Paragon, then Raznel will react, she will send everything at us, to prevent us from killing the others, so is there a way to Summon Grishom, we could use his army of Golems to help protect the Landing, after all the Golems were erected here out of this soil?"

Thadston says, "The witch worked hard to protect these paragons. Not just their location."

Zosopage says, "We were told it would be worse if I recall."

Pukk quietly says, "That was a walk down memory lane."

Thadston glances at Soneiken.

Thadston says, "Don't even contemplate that."

Speaking angrily to Soneiken, Hapenlok says, "...no. never."

Cryheart says, "We should never invite Stone to join us."

Speaking to Soneiken, Dergoatean says, "Sounds like fixing an Arkati problem by enraging a bunch of Ur-Daemons."

Speaking to Soneiken, Shinann says, "He would help her, not us."

Determination

Thadston says, "I do not know what to expect."

Thrassus says, "It'd likely work, if it was possible."

Speaking casually to Thadston, Cruxophim jokes, "He's got a point."

Evia asks, "I am not even sure what the nature of them is...are they possessed of witch-magic?"

Speaking to Soneiken, Hapenlok says, "And I'll smoewhat politely ask you never to mention that ...thing in my presence again."

Lyrna asks, "Fixing a blizzard with a tornado?"

Speaking wryly to Shinann, Cruxophim disagrees, "No, he'd help us... if the price was better."

Shinann says, "I do not want Stone here."

Thadston says, "But I just know we cannot waver."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Dwi asks, "So...dese pair o' things dat is gone...we gotta bounty fer findin em?"

Speaking sternly to Hapenlok, Cruxophim warns, "Calm down. No one's calling Stone."

Thadston says, "We cannot trust what we think we see or don't see. Just do what we know to do."

Zosopage says, "Help us then turn on us."

Chamorr heartily asks, "Waver?"

Soneiken says, "Stone double crossed her before and Elithain, it's him I want, it's the army of Golems."

Speaking to Thadston, Dergoatean asks, "Then how do we know who to kill?"

Leafiara decisively agrees, "Do what it takes, yes."

Speaking evenly to Thadston, Cruxophim agrees, "One bridge at a time."

Speaking to Thadston, Dergoatean asks, "Could be some innocent bystanders made to look like the paragon?"

Speaking heartily to Thadston, Chamorr says, "We don't waver, we rush in kill everything then say oops."

Thadston shrugs at Dergoatean.

Thadston says, "I put nothing past the witch."

Speaking to Soneiken, Hapenlok says, "Not worth it. Ever. I pillaged a living forest for him, once."

Speaking heartily to Chamorr, Dwi says, "Ye say chase anna ye know it."

Speaking to Thadston, Dergoatean asks, "Then at least - who? and when?"

Thadston says, "If anyone is not prepared to go, or chooses not too, I will think nothing of it."

Evia says, "I'd imagine we might even believe for a time we did do an Ooops."

Speaking quietly to Thadston, Elphieya asks, "You said the day. Did you say a time and I missed it?"

Speaking concernedly to Evia, Cruxophim echoes, "An Oops?"

Thadston says, "We'll do whatever we must do. I understand some cannot will themselves to do such."

Speaking to Elphieya, Leafiaa says, "Generally the evening."

Speaking heartily to Thadston, Chamorr says, "Sure, what the heck, I'll go."

Lyrna says, "The usual time, I'd imagine."

Goldstr exclaims, "We gits rid a da Witch der be no OOPS!"

Lyrna says, "When we're all ready."

Pukk quietly says, "Night after next."

Thadston says, "But this is war, and our enemy is dark. So we must too be so in a sense."

Elphieya quietly says, "Well, yes."

Elphieya smirks at Leafiara.

Speaking to Cruxophim, Evia says, "Something making us believe we may have killed the wrong...thing, or what have you."

Speaking to Thadston, Soneiken says, "But a death to her paragons, is a strike directly at her well being, she will come like we have never seen before, she will raze this town, eradicate it, we must be ready for the consequences, not just assume we can freely kill all her paragons unabated."

Speaking wryly to Evia, Cruxophim agrees, "It's been known to happen once or twice."

Thadston nods at Soneiken.

Thadston says, "I understand, and we will fight back against her as we always do."

Bernadette softly says, "We willin to take the risk."

Zosopage says, "There will be pushback but we have to be ready for it. All we can do."

Speaking quietly to Soneiken, Elphieya says, "Is she not already intensifying her attacks? We have to fight back."

Shinann says, "She will raze the town either way, I am thinking."

Dergoatean says, "We're going to memorialize another Cosima..."

Evia says, "Apparently we're pretty much going in dependent upon not much more than blind faith in our purpose."

Dwi heartily says, "Still dont gittit...if der's jus a pair o' em...anna der gone..."

Cryheart says, "This town must be defended as well as the citizens and visitors."

Speaking simply to Shinann, Leafiara agrees, "Indeed... can't get any worse by provoking her."

Speaking to Soneiken, Hapenlok says, "It's been coming to this since the time she first appeared."

Thrassus says, "She nearly did last eve."

Lyrna says, "She has been destroying as she goes."

Guarrin whispers something to Cryheart.

Cryheart whispers something to Guarrin.

Speaking heartily to Thadston, Chamorr says, "May I suggest you coordinate this venture with yer captains."

Thadston says, "Captain."

Speaking curiously to Evia, Leafiara says, "Blind faith? We have Pylasar's memories to go by, with Xorus' and the Chronomage's leads in searching through them..."

Thadston says, "...and I will."

Speaking quietly to Dwi, Pukk says, "A pair of gones don't make a right in other words."

Zosopage says, "Her focus that night I think will be tryng to stop us from killing the paragon so the town should be fairly safe at that time."

Speaking heartily to Pukk, Dwi exclaims, "Oh!"

Speaking to Leafiara, Evia says, "But we still do not know the nature of the beast."

Speaking to Leafiara, Evia says, "Or the place, or even the time."

Speaking to Evia, Leafiara agrees, "Oh, very true. Gotta prepare for everything."

Thadston says, "We do not know what the witch has woven into place to protect the paragon."

Thadston says, "But we'll deal with it."

Speaking to Zosopage, Dergoatean says, "She does seem to exist in different timelines, in some sense of simultaneity."

Speaking heartily to Bristenn, Conrash asks, "Yer an Imperial, ain't ya? Ya okay with this plan?"

Evia says, "If it involves puzzles, Goat is our man."

Speaking to Thadston, Hapenlok says, "I think we're better off not knowing. If we knew? We'd probably be too frightened to go."

Stormyrain: "Merry eve, Landing."

Hall Update

Thadston says, "Magister."

Bristenn simply remarks, "Imperial knight of Vornavis."

Thadston peers quizzically at Raelee.

Thadston asks, "Coffin update?"

Speaking to Dergoatean, Zosopage says, "Perhaps but a direct threat to her will demand her full attention."

Hapenlok says, "Besides, I'm not exactly big on plans."

Cryheart whispers something to Guarrin.

Bristenn dryly ventures, "I assume it was already covered how Andrews came into knowledge about the paragons' state?"

Thadston peers quizzically at Bristenn.

Speaking to Thadston, Raelee says, "... two weeks, roughly."

Guarrin whispers something to Cryheart.

Thadston nods at Raelee.

Speaking to Thadston, Raelee says, "It will arrive with the other mages."

Thadston says, "I hope so. Or I'll go carve it from the Hall myself."

Thadston says, "I'll wait then. For a bit longer."

Pukk whispers something to Leafiara.

Thadston says, "Thank you Raelee."

Cryheart whispers something to Guarrin.

Knowledge Base

Thadston peers quizzically at Bristenn.

Thadston asks, "Something bristling you Bristenn?"

Gutstorm says, "He made a funny."

Pietra: "I'm not happy to be stuck in this office. So no merriment here."

Bristenn blandly remarks, "Rather."

Evia says, "He asked how you knew what you seem to know."

Dwi: "Der aint e'en any cookies."

Thadston says, "Well, let's hear it."

Speaking to Thadston, Bristenn ventures, "You've encountered her paragons before, then?"

Thadston says, "We might as well."

Thadston says, "No I have not."

Leafiara: "I would have brought the food cart, but it's already pretty cramped in here."

Pietra: "They're blue, but there's cookies."

Stormyrain: "It's lovely outside of it, if you don't mind a bit of rain."

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "Gits yer own."

Stormyrain: "Easier to breathe than in there, for certain."

Bristenn slowly ventures, "Then you're assuming their status?"

Pietra: "I can't get out. And I'm feeling rather... itchy."

Dwi gobbles down her blueberry cookie in one enormous bite.

CS: +147 - TD: +149 + CvA: -21 + d100: +41 - +20 == -2

Warded off!

Evia says, "I suppose sending in an advance scout would be out of the question."

Thadston asks, "As in their need to die can't be saved status?"

Thadston peers quizzically at Bristenn.

Gutstorm says, "Note to self, Pietra isn't the best baker."

Speaking to Dwi, Pietra says, "That looked not yummy."

Elphieya quietly says, "I think a scout would only tip them off to us coming and end in their death."

Pietra whispers something to Leafiara.

Speaking heartily to Pietra, Dwi says, "Is fine...a lil wiggly...but fine."

Speaking to Elphieya, Evia says, "That would be a very bad scout, wouldn't it."

Leafiara whispers something to Pietra.

Elphieya quietly says, "We're likely to die even going in force."

Thadston says, "I'm only going off the word of a mad purple wizard who once upon a time, literally, helped make them."

Goldstr says, "Dey mos likely knows anyway."

Zosopage says, "The mould will help keep you healthy."

Lyrna says, "It would depend on whether the potential gain of information outweighs the risk."

Hapenlok says, "...besides the fact that it's not like scouting an enemy camp, scouting these ...paragons."

Thadston says, "I don't know if she will look like a giant maggot, or an angel."

Pietra whispers something to Leafiara.

Thadston says, "But we're ending her."

Lyrna says, "But we are going regardless, so, it is probably not."

Speaking dubiously to Thadston, Cruxophim suggests, "What about a giant rotting angel?"

Thadston says, "Same."

Chamorr heartily says, "It will look like Cryheart."

Evia says, "Our luck she will look like Grandma, rocking a baby."

Speaking musingly to Cruxophim, Leafiara says, "That'd be just like her."

Cryheart says, "Hopefully we shall be..."

Cryheart glances at Chamorr.

Cryheart says, "Able to ascertain who she is."

Bristenn evenly replies, "A fair enough answer. I trust you understand that black and white no longer exist in decisionmaking on this front, however."

Thadston says, "You're welcome to stand aside like you did when Talador tried to burn this town."

Thadston nods at Bristenn.

Thadston says, "I don't blame you if you don't go. This is war, not court."

(OOC) Evia's player whispers to the group, "So is this like the Poltergeist sort of dimensional pocket, or more like the vintage Twilight Zone dimensional pocket, behind the bedroom wall?"

Bristenn simply replies, "I kept my word."

Speaking to Bristenn, Raelee says, "For what it may be worth, lacking any other formal guidance... I agree with Thadston."

Pukk whispers something to Leafiara.

Bristenn remarks, "I never said I disagreed. I'm merely asking questions."

Speaking heartily to Bristenn, Chamorr says, "How was that tea, by the way."

Thadston nods.

Speaking heartily to Gutstorm, Dwi says, "Gonna be muddy out der."

Intentions

Speaking to Thadston, Soneiken asks, "You have an agenda though, using your words "let me make it clear" make it clear to us your interest is in saving this town, this way of life, and not be clouded by your interests in saving your son?"

Thadston says, "Good. Your sword would be useful."

Thadston nods at Bristenn.

Thadston peers quizzically at Soneiken.

Speaking to Thadston, Soneiken says, "Because this is war."

Thadston says, "I have all the intentions of ending Raznel for every reason that exists."

Speaking dubiously to Soneiken, Cruxophim wonders, "What is it good for?"

Pukk quietly says, "Sounds about right."

Elphieya whispers something to Soneiken.

Speaking to Soneiken, Leafiara offers, "They're interlinked things, anyway."

Thadston says, "To save this town. To save my son. To avenge my wife. To stop the Bleaklands. To put an end to every wrong she's done."

Pukk whispers something to Cryheart.

Cryheart whispers something to Pukk.

Thadston leans to the left for a moment, wincing.

Zosopage says, "Everyone here has an interest to save their kin, can't expect Thadston to be any different."

Pukk whispers something to Cryheart.

Speaking to Thadston, Goldstr asks, "Dat wound still gittin to ye?"

Cryheart whispers something to Pukk.

Speaking quietly to Thadston, Elphieya asks, "Still feeling the effects of last night?"

Thadston says, "A bit. But the gauntlets packed a punch."

Thadston says, "I'll see you all on the Eve of Leyan."

Warning

Thadston moves to the door but then pauses.

Leafiara decisively says, "To take care of unfinished business."

Speaking to Zosopage, Soneiken says, "His son might be a casualty, but we and HE needs to keep our eye on the prize, not be deferred from the right choices because of kin."

Speaking heartily to Thadston, Chamorr says, "Rest up an get ready to rumble, old man."

Speaking to Thadston, Dergoatean says, "Rest up, boss."

Speaking heartily to Chamorr, Dwi asks, "Ain't gauntlets sposed to pack a punch?"

Speaking to Thadston, Hapenlok says, "....you know, I did try reasoning with him, before you caught up with him."

Thadston leans forward and snatches up Rhayveign by the collar of her black greatcloak. He pulls her close to his face, eyes burning into hers.

Thadston says, "Tell her we're coming."

Speaking heartily to Chamorr, Dwi says, "Oh...anna kin I borrow some."

Rhayveign hisses at Thadston.

Thadston says, "I want her to see how helpless she is before and after."

Speaking sternly to Thadston, Cruxophim hisses, "Don't."

Evia says, "Hmm."

Thadston drops Rhayveign to the ground with a thud.

Thrassus says, "How that's quite rude."

Lord Thadston just went through a varnished modwir door.
