Summary

  • Grand Magister Octaven's golems approach the Landing north gate, where Marshal Thadston greets them and says they're ready to help. He takes Captains Stormyrain and Shinann aside for a private meeting while the rest of the group contemplates the golems.
  • Afterward, everyone reconvenes in the mayor's office, where Thadston says tomorrow night he'll discuss battle strategies with everyone to strike the Bleaklands, seeking ideas and people.
  • As for tonight... He appreciates Mayor Lylia's letter to the people, and others' efforts in kicking off evacuation, and some have already begun packing and preparing. Nonetheless, effective immediately the militia will be taking over all evacuation plans. This includes:
    • Stephos DeArchon's ships will be aiding with escort to predetermined locations, but the militia will deal with Alendrial since he doesn't want to see Stephos' face.
    • Mother's arranged for wagons to escort citizens out beyond the town, but not as far as imperial territory.
    • The captains will oversee citizens moving into the tunnels beneath town and helping to organize their security.
    • The golems will help move belongings.
    • Everyone has 24 hours, made doable by the golems being tireless and the militia working diligently.
    • Citizens who refuse to leave by tomorrrow night will be forced into ships set aside for them as the militia will sweep through home to home looking for them.
  • Thadston reiterates that Raznel can't be ended until Brumas is and both must be done as quickly and close together as possible by month's end.
  • Thadston double-checks with Magister Raelee about whether she can re-open the portal. She expresses concern not about opening or closing it, but about passing through, given the number of things she can think of that would sabotage a portal. He says to save the thought for tomorrow's planning.
  • Ysharra asks if anyone's spoken to Quinshon, but Thadston says Pylasar said he's gone after he (Pylasar) gave him (Quinshon) something he needed. What that means, he'll figure out another time--one demon at a time.

Log

Snowfall

The sky is filled with a blanket of low clouds, pale and unmoving. Sounds seem muffled and the air feels thick and takes on a quiet stillness.

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see a large acorn, the Eledryn disk, the Aquarrist disk, a sleek red-footed falcon, a travel guide token, a white flask, some sturdy leather gloves, a mace, a rations kit, a rose-marrow potion, some wolifrew lichen, a rose-marrow potion, a large acorn, a large acorn, a large acorn, a large acorn, a large acorn, a large acorn, some stone benches with some stuff on it and an herbal remedy donation bin.

Also here: Event Planner Leafiara, Leineshan, Gostcrow, Shinann, Mister Skyz, Llieh, Kronzcrest, Teirzah, Herrit, Sir Cryheart, Aquarrist, Master Eledryn, Zaxabar, Avalera, Lord Chamorr, Egryl, High Lord Raneng, Xisum, Helsfeld

Leafiara surprisedly says, "Huh."

Leafiara yells, "Pukk! Get over here!"

Gostcrow asks, "Sure is noisy here, what's the occasion?"

Speaking amusedly to Gostcrow, Leafiara says, "It's the Landing. That's every night."

Gostcrow says, "Not every one."

Pukk just arrived.

Speaking amicably to Pukk, Leafiara exclaims, "There you are!"

Pukk exclaims, "I was at a Dreavening!"

Balley softly says, "I was but left."

Speaking to Pukk, Leafiara whispers aloud, "He went east!"

Gostcrow says, "I tried singing and it tuckered me out."

Balley softly says, "Did not want to leave things."

Pukk exclaims, "Okay!"

Pukk just went east.

[Town Square, East]

Here in the center of a broad plaza near the commercial area of the bazaar stands the impressive facade of the slate-roofed Moot Hall, where the citizens of Wehnimer's Landing hold various official, religious and social functions. Facing the square are some of the town's more prosperous shops, still doing business with the many customers who still frequent the streets at night. You also see a pale-faced coppery barn owl, a polished bleakstone statue and a large purple wooden barrel.

Also here: Event Planner Leafiara, Pukk, Avalera, Shinann, Sir Cryheart, Wolfloner

Pukk yells, "Everybody Join Cryheart!"

Pukk yells, "In front of Moot Hall!"

Speaking fondly to Pukk, Leafiara says, "That's our herald."

Speaking to a pale-faced coppery barn owl, Pukk says, "It's good that you are with us. You can keep things straight."

Gostcrow asks, "Why we here?"

Speaking sagely to Gostcrow, Leafiara says, "To join Cryheart."

Gostcrow asks, "Is it safe?"

Balley softly says, "Yes."

Speaking coyly to Gostcrow, Leafiara says, "Never know."

Cryheart says, "Hard to say."

Balley softly says, "You can come and protect me."

Speaking to Cryheart, Gostcrow says, "I have heard about you."

Cryheart asks, "Aye?"

Speaking sagely to Gostcrow, Leafiara says, "He's a famed, high-ranking, honorable knight."

Gostcrow says, "I am told you're powerful."

Balley softly says, "Yeah he leads us to our death."

Balley softly says, "Well he leads me to my death."

Balley softly says, "I always die."

Speaking to Balley, Leafiara assures, "He's doing his best! The witch's minions are just too powerful."

Gostcrow says, "Oh okay."

Balley softly says, "Still even when I do nothing changes."

Pukk yells, "You know the drill, Sir Shiny is in front of Moot Hall. Join up or be snowed out!"

Speaking earnestly to Balley, Leafiara says, "Still, we're all counting on you too. Without healers like you and Shinann, we'd stand no chance out there."

Gostcrow asks, "Wonder where the guide master is?"

Cryheart says, "We are expecting someone to come and speak to us."

Balley softly says, "I do what I can."

Maags says, "Who."

Cryheart says, "Who knows."

Leafiara curiously asks, "Who's comin'?"

Balley softly says, "Usually I just try not to die."

Leafiara says, "Oh."

Gostcrow says, "Laz something."

Cryheart says, "Could be Thadston."

Cryheart says, "Or Pylasar."

Cryheart says, "Or..."

Speaking amusedly to Gostcrow, Leafiara asks, "Lazaryth?"

Shinann asks, "Or snow?"

Cryheart says, "Or snow."

Gostcrow says, "Yes that's it."

Balley softly says, "Any of them would give us information I think."

Leafiara exclaims, "Snow's here already!"

Gostcrow says, "Snow bites unless you're a lil tike."

Shinann says, "I am not sure they share all their secrets with each other..."

Gostcrow asks, "You eat a lot?"

Gostcrow peers quizzically at Maags.

Leafiara hopefully says, "Maybe Pylasar has some new theories after what we reported on Feastday."

Cryheart says, "She is a halfling...of course."

Maags says, "I 'spose few were veries surprised at the paragon yous discovered on Feastday."

Bernadette softly says, "I'd lika hear em."

Maags says, "Define a lot."

Bernadette nods at Leafiara.

Gostcrow asks, "A cultural trait?"

Speaking to Gostcrow, Maags exclaims, "Not enough!"

Cryheart says, "She eats three breakfasts...and a few snacks afore lunch."

Shinann says, "Not many are eating in this town."

Gostcrow asks, "Really?"

Gostcrow says, "Amazing she can waalk."

Speaking to Shinann, Maags says, "Truth. my meals are rare latelies."

Speaking to Gostcrow, Maags says, "It rather amazes me that those without a steady diet of sugar live at all."

Maags exclaims, "Easier yous has energies!"

Gostcrow asks, "Why doesn't that surprise me?"

The coppery barn owl glances around the area, its eyes gleaming intelligently.

Maags exclaims, "Owlies knows!"

Leafiara dubiously says, "Hopefully the witch doesn't attack tonight. We're a bit short on defenders."

Gostcrow says, "Last time I saw an owl was in a pie."

Bernadette softly says, "Aye."

The coppery barn owl hoots at Gostcrow.

The coppery barn owl hoots at Gostcrow.

Cryheart says, "I think he is ranting at ye."

Berost: "There be a gatherin tonight in tha landin?"

Gostcrow says, "I didn't bake it."

Awaiting Golems

Some huge dark blue steel golems can be seen marching out of the Hendoran Outpost and approaching Wehnimer's Landing as a curtain of snow falls down around them.

Cryheart: "In front of Moot Hall."

Gostcrow says, "Was a elf."

Cryheart says, "Hmmm."

Maags exclaims, "More tragic than kitten pies!"

Leafiara slowly says, "Ah, Octaven's golems are here."

Speaking to a poofy piebald flop-eared kitten, Maags says, "Sorries Crumbs."

Cryheart says, "To the North gate."

Leafiara: "And now moving to north gate to greet Octaven's golems."

[travel]

[Wehnimer's, Outside Gate]

Citizens, merchants and assorted dregs of society jostle against you before the great wooden gates of Wehnimer's Landing. Harried guards and militiamen try to keep the chaos to a minimum, but it is hard to keep track of those entering, let alone leaving, this large trading post. A dirt path encircling the wooden palisade of the town leads east and southwest. Nailed prominently to the wooden wall beside the gate is a sign you really should read. You also see a poofy piebald flop-eared kitten, a pudgy frosting-covered dormouse, the Diamondelille disk, the Berost disk, the Maags disk, the Balley disk, the Stilehe disk, the palm frond-shaped Leafiara disk, a volatile aurora spirit that is flying around, a reinforced wooden defense tower and the Wayside inn.

Berost deeply says, "Moar magicks and magickers."

Speaking to Leafiara, Maags says, "Yous mus be good at ambushing."

Speaking sheepishly to Maags, Leafiara says, "No, I usually make a lot of noise, honestly."

Stormyrain asks, "Are we expecting someone?"

Speaking to Stormyrain, Leafiara explains, "Octaven's golems."

Goldstr says, "Shoulds be friendlys."

Leafiara lightly says, "Don't anyone destroy 'em at first sight. I know we're used to that around here, but..."

Tumner says, "I saw them when I was up by the Kappas."

Gostcrow asks, "Destroy what?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "You have to tell that to Roblar or Falvicar."

Speaking amicably to Lazaryth, Leafiara asks, "There ya are! Come to see the golems?"

Speaking mischievously to Pukk, Leafiara says, "Neither are here."

Pukk says, "Neither are here....so we are good."

Lazaryth says, "I.. was just leaving the inn."

Gostcrow asks, "What's a golem?"

Speaking to Lazaryth, Leafiara suggests, "Stay for the company anyway, then!"

Gostcrow exclaims, "Guide Master!"

Speaking to Gostcrow, Leafiara says, "In this case, a large steel construct."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Lazaryth says, "You're determined not to let me look at you, aren't you."

Cryheart says, "A false living thing."

Speaking to Gostcrow, Leafiara says, "They can be made of other things sometimes."

Speaking to Lazaryth, Stormyrain asks, "You're looking at me, are you not?"

Speaking to Stormyrain, Lazaryth says, "I see you now."

Stormyrain says, "..well then. There we have it."

Cryheart: "We are at the North gate to greet Octaven's golems."

Lylia says, "Although they, being golems, may not offer much of a greeting in return."

Felita: "Think they be friendly?"

Felita asks, "Think they be friendly?"

Lylia: "They are golems. They do the bidding of their master."

Speaking wryly to Felita, Leafiara says, "That's the hope."

Cryheart says, "They will be neutral."

A large dark blue steel golem just arrived!

Cryheart says, "Neutral most likely."

A large dark blue steel golem just arrived!

A large dark blue steel golem just arrived!

Dhairn quietly says, "Hm."

A large dark blue steel golem just arrived!

A large dark blue steel golem just arrived!

A large dark blue steel golem just arrived!

A large dark blue steel golem just arrived!

Ysharra says, "Hm."

A large dark blue steel golem just arrived!

A large dark blue steel golem just arrived!

A large dark blue steel golem just arrived!

A large dark blue steel golem just arrived!

A large dark blue steel golem just arrived!

Leafiara musingly says, "Reminds me of my days in those Glatoph ruins."

Cryheart says, "Many indeed."

Thadston's Meeting

Lord Thadston just limped through some reinforced wooden gates.

Wolfloner darkly says, "Yet another imperial invasion."

Thadston waves a hand at Wolfloner, dismissing him indifferently.

Cryheart says, "Hello Lord Thadston."

Speaking to Thadston, Stormyrain greets, "Marshal."

Thadston says, "5114 wrote a letter. They miss you."

Balley softly says, "Hello Thadston."

Thadston nods at Wolfloner.

Speaking heartily to Thadston, Chamorr says, "Evenin Thadston."

Speaking to Thadston, Goldstr says, "Hail Sir Andrews."

Maags says, "Eves Marshal."

Wolfloner nods at Thadston.

Speaking to Lazaryth, Gostcrow exclaims, "Guide Master!"

Lazaryth murmurs, "Yes. That's me."

Thadston nods to the blue steel golem.

Thadston says, "Good. They're ready to help."

Cryheart says, "Seems so."

Ysharra says, "Because more golems always works out."

Leafiara whispers something to Shinann.

Dhairn quietly says, "Hm."

Speaking to Thadston, Raelee asks, "Did you expect otherwise?"

Thadston asks, "Captains. Will you join me for a moment?"

Speaking to Maags, Gostcrow asks, "Are golem edible?"

Stormyrain joins Thadston's group.

Dhairn whispers to the group, "No Zealot, I'm guessing."

Shinann joins Thadston's group.

Speaking to Gostcrow, Maags says, "Not veries sweet."

Thadston asks, "I need to speak to the Captains. We will return shortly. Mayor's office?"

Thadston peers quizzically at Lylia.

Lylia replies, "I shall await you there."

Speaking to Maags, Gostcrow says, "Somehow I knew you had tasted one."

Speaking to Gostcrow, Maags exclaims, "Yous assume much!"

Cryheart says, "We shall keep an eye out on the golems."

Gostcrow says, "That has been said before."

Palfin quietly says, "Ack."

Speaking to a large dark blue steel golem, Ysharra says, "You look very shiny. I think the mein is better, though."

Cryheart asks, "Do any of ye golems know the dance of the sword?"

Speaking to Cryheart, Raelee says, "They know what we created them to know."

Cryheart says, "Apparently nae."

Ysharra says, "I am...also going to the mayor's office. You keep dancing with the golems, Shiny."

Speaking softly to a large dark blue steel golem, Bernadette says, "Yer a mite taller 'en me."

Gostcrow asks, "Dance of the sword?"

Speaking heartily to Cryheart, Chamorr says, "Saftey dance."

Gostcrow asks, "Is that a greeting?"

Cryheart says, "Nae a fancy dance created in the highlands."

Lord Thadston just limped through some reinforced wooden gates, with his group following closely behind him.

Leafiara tentatively asks, "So, uh... did Thadston intend for all of us to head to the mayor's office, or just her?"

Maags says, "Jus the captains."

Leafiara admits, "I wasn't clear on it."

Maags says, "He said."

Leafiara says, "Ahh."

Goldstr says, "Tinks jess da Captains an da mayor." [as it turns out, none of us were correct; Lylia went alone to her office, the captains went somewhere else, and the rest of us were also supposed to go to the mayor's office]

Balley softly says, "Must be a top secret meeting."

Chamorr heartily says, "We wait here with the rest of the golems."

Rainedrop quietly says, "I can hunt golems."

Rainedrop quietly asks, "Why are they being still?"

Cryheart removes a veniom-hafted silvery rolaren waraxe from in his leather weapons harness.

Cryheart glances at a large dark blue steel golem.

Cryheart dances around the area, ending with a spin and left arm held high!

Maags asks, "They are behaving?"

Speaking amusedly to Cryheart, Leafiara asks, "Trying to teach them some new moves?"

Cryheart says, "Apparently they dinnae know the dance of the sword."

Bernadette softly says, "They waitin fer somepin."

Speaking heartily to Maags, Chamorr says, "But they don't dance."

Speaking quietly to Chamorr, Dhairn says, "We can dance... if we want to."

Speaking to Chamorr, Maags says, "Luckies for yous else yous toes be crushed."

Speaking to a large dark blue steel golem, Leafiara whispers aloud, "Just don't learn your movement speed from Sir Cryheart. He takes things slow because he has to lead a whole group, but you're more individual."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "Is because his armor chaffs."

Speaking to a large dark blue steel golem, Pukk says, "Sir Shiny, Cryheart, is always slow....I thought all Sirs were slow. Turns out, it was just him."

Speaking slowly to Chamorr, Leafiara says, "Didn't need to know that one."

Palfin quietly asks, "Is everybody behaving?"

Cryheart says, "Indeed nae sir, my armor is padded."

Speaking mischievously to Palfin, Leafiara says, "In a sense."

Berost deeply says, "Jest wear a kilt. Alleviates all them uncomfortable moments."

Cryheart says, "Golems..can ye catch a snowflake with ye tongue, if'n ye hae one."

Speaking to Palfin, Pukk says, "I haven't yet begun to be naughty."

Cryheart says, "He is being nice."

Cryheart says, "For a change."

Cryheart glances at Pukk.

Zosopage says, "They'd look better in black."

Palfin quietly says, "He can be quite civilized."

Tetreves says, "Oh."

Speaking slowly to Zosopage, Leafiara says, "But then we might mistake them for certain -other- golems..."

Palfin quietly says, "Now what about these visitors."

Speaking darkly to a large dark blue steel golem, Wolfloner says, "Sit."

Speaking to Cryheart, Pukk says, "I'm waiting till Thaddy is here first.."

Speaking to Cryheart, Gostcrow says, "Are you trying to anger the poor golem."

Maags says, "The blue makes me think they are in uniform."

Speaking darkly to a large dark blue steel golem, Wolfloner says, "Stay."

Cryheart says, "Ye waiting for the stocks then."

Tetreves asks, "What did I miss?"

Palfin quietly says, "Stocks or snacks."

Speaking darkly to a pale-faced coppery barn owl, Wolfloner says, "Sit."

Gostcrow says, "Nothing."

Balley softly says, "You are screaming at me again Tetreves I told you I am not scary."

Tetreves says, "Other than an army of golems at the gates, I mean."

Speaking to Leafiara, Zosopage says, "That's easy to fix. Just need an unmistakable rune or something on them."

Speaking innocently to Cryheart, Pukk says, "Why stocks? I'm innocent."

Balley softly says, "Silly brother."

Cryheart says, "Ye waiting until Lord Thadston returns...that means you are planning something."

Palfin quietly says, "I don't want to be a snack so I'm going to mind my business."

Speaking darkly to a pale-faced coppery barn owl, Wolfloner says, "Bad bird."

A large spot-tailed hawk asks, "So is this a golem army?"

The coppery barn owl hoots at Wolfloner.

Speaking casually to a large spot-tailed hawk, Leafiara says, "Something like that."

Balley softly says, "Leafi you still thinking about the chains I know." [because a few nights earlier Leafi was teasing her about how good she looked in chains in Stormy's vision]

Leafiara dubiously says, "Now what they'll be used for is another question..."

Leafiara tickles Balley into laughing.

Cryheart says, "Tis Octaven's golem army to aid us against Raznel."

Speaking to Leafiara, Lazaryth says, "You missed your chance to tell him it was a golem dance troupe."

Leafiara wonders, "Is it just that? Maybe Thadston intends to use them to make people evacuate, too..."

Bernadette softly says, "Fer encouragement."

Maags says, "That is a good guess."

Speaking to Leafiara, Goldstr says, "Coulds be."

Leafiara frankly says, "I hope it's not a good guess. That would be worrying."

Speaking to Cryheart, Gostcrow asks, "Why don't you ask them to join you at Helga's for a brew?"

Leafiara mumbles, "Just can't shake the thought."

Cryheart says, "I dinnae think they drink."

Maags says, "When he wants his way, he is not subtle."

Speaking to Maags, Leafiara concedes, "True. I'll hope in that then..."

Gostcrow asks, "Maybe they would like her stew?"

Stormyrain: "We will see you all in the Mayor's office shortly, I hope."

A large spot-tailed hawk says, "They look meeeeaaaannnnn."

Cryheart says, "A thought from Stormyrain...they will see us in the mayor's office shortly."

Zosopage says, "Seems they are in the Mayor's office."

Lylia: "I am already there."

Cryheart says, "Aye."

Goldstr exclaims, "Less hopes dey real mean!"

Tetreves says, "That means talking, and not acting."

Gostcrow asks, "Who is?"

Leafiara says, "I couldn't tell if that was an invitation to go now or if it was telling everyone to wait a little longer..." [given that, at the time, Leafi thought the mayor was with the captains]

Speaking darkly to a large dark blue steel golem, Wolfloner says, "Go to the mayor's office."

Cryheart: "Wait Thadston and the captains are nae in the mayor's office."

Maags says, "We could go knock."

Speaking to Tetreves, Zosopage says, "Well you could act like you are talking.."

Cryheart: "Just the mayor."

Khazmodain asks, "They don't need to die?"

Stormyrain: "No we are not there yet. We should be there shortly."

Speaking to Zosopage, Tetreves says, "You'll ruin it."

Thadston: "We are coming."

Leafiara: "Where should be we be? Still at the gates or in the mayor's office?"

Lylia: "No, they are not. He wished to speak to them separately. I have no idea why, as I have no scarab within me. But I can afford to be patient."

Cryheart says, "Let us go to the mayor's office."

[travel]

[Moot Hall, Mayor Lylia's Office]

From a dais, the maoral desk and an ivory and velvet curule seat loom over two carved wooden chairs. Tapestry rugs cover the hardwood floor, their patterns complementing the arched windows flanking the desk. A stag's head stares at a panoramic fresco mounted opposite it. In a corner near the bar, a scarred witchwood perch rises to the high ceiling, while several feet away, a black iron stove rests against the west wall and is topped with a silver kettle. You also see the pallid grey Melikor disk emblazoned with a vibrant scarlet pentacle, a cowled figure, the bloodstained Xorus disk with scuffed and dented sides, a plain document, the Lylia disk, a varnished modwir door, a maoral bookcase and a small maoral sideboard with some stuff on it.

Speaking darkly to Cryheart, Wolfloner asks, "I thought it was a private meeting?"

Lylia says, "My door is always open."

Cryheart says, "The meeting between Thadston and the captains is."

Gostcrow asks, "So we came here and left the gate unguarded?"

Zosopage says, "We're picking up stragglers. What next..."

Speaking quietly to Lylia, Dhairn says, "Leave it to Cryheart to bring thirty people into this little office."

Lylia says, "My office is capacious enough for everyone, I am certain. Modest as it is."

Speaking to Gostcrow, Lazaryth says, "Technically, I believe the golems are now guarding the gate."

Cryheart says, "They are coming it seems."

Speaking to Lazaryth, Gostcrow asks, "Is that wise?"

Tetreves says, "Ok, I can tolerate this talking now."

Thadston: "We shall be to the Mayor's office shortly. You are all welcome."

Speaking to Lylia, Zosopage says, "If not there is the window...."

Lylia whispers something to Zolis.

Maags says, "Velvet chairs are rather fancy."

Speaking to Maags, Ysharra says, "Very well appointed. Nicer than the bone chairs."

Lylia smoothly says, "I like to be accommodating to valued guests."

Maags says, "Uh oh."

Speaking heartily to Maags, Chamorr says, "They is good fer jumpin on."

Lazaryth mouths, "Valued guests."

Speaking to Chamorr, Maags exclaims, "At yous own risk!"

Dhairn quietly says, "I'm valued enough to warrant a refill on the absinthe snifters."

Twenty-Four Hours

Lord Thadston just limped through a varnished modwir door, with his group following closely behind him.

Thadston nods.

Thadston says, "Eve."

Thadston says, "I will not keep you long."

Speaking quietly to Thadston, Ysharra says, "By the way. The ruse and trap you sprung with Casiphia was brilliant, if severe."

Lylia says, "I have a good deal of time; take what you need of it."

Speaking to Chamorr, Maags exclaims, "If yous think the Mayor dislikes butts on her desk, yous should consider what might happen with yous boots on her velvets!"

Thadston says, "Tomorrow night we'll meet to discuss some battle strategies as we prepare to strike the Bleaklands. All will be welcome. We'll need many ideas, people..."

Thadston nods at Ysharra.

Thadston says, "Thank you."

Ysharra nods at Thadston.

Thadston says, "She's recovering better, so that is good."

Speaking to Thadston, Tetreves exclaims, "I've always wanted to go there!"

Speaking to Maags, Lylia says, "Oh, I am sure it was a jest. Surely."

Thadston says, "But tonight, I have an update."

Speaking to Thadston, Goldstr says, "Goods ta hear."

Maags says, "Hopes."

Thadston says, "I appreciate your letter to the people Mayor, and all other efforts in kicking off an evacuation."

Lylia says, "I prefer to be proactive."

Alasatia whispers something to Stormyrain.

Thadston says, "I am here to inform everyone that the Landing Militia will officially be taking over all evacuation plans, effective immediately."

Gostcrow asks, "So it does matter which hand you carry it in?"

Speaking teasingly to a white-tailed broom hare, Ysharra says, "Like you."

Xorus wryly says, "Marshal law."

Thadston says, "To that end, Stephos' ships will arrive tonight and they will be escorting citizens out to sea at some predetermined locations. We're dealing with Alendrial. I don't even want to see Stephos' face."

Rainedrop quietly says, "I'm not leaving my town."

Leafiara wryly says, "Well, we're in agreement on that part."

Speaking deeply to Gostcrow, Myharl says, "Well, if you're carrying it in your right hand, also hold it with your left. And, if you're carrying it with your left hand, also hold it with your right."

Lylia coolly says, "How good of you all to let me know this, privately, so that I could likewise plan for any eventualities."

Thadston says, "Mother has arranged for some wagons to help escort citizens and their families out beyond the town, but not into imperial territory. Many have responded to the Mayor's letter."

Thadston says, "Letter."

Thadston says, "And have already begun packing and preparing."

Lylia says, "This is all excellent news."

Thadston says, "You will understand that time is against us, and therefore formalities are not always permitted."

Maags says, "Some will hide and refuse to leave."

Tetreves says, "Faster is better."

Leafiara looks thoughtfully at Maags.

Speaking to Leafiara, Maags exclaims, "Problies!"

Gostcrow asks, "Leave where?"

Lylia replies, "Naturally. And with this in mind, I hope the militia is prepared to enforce evacuation orders when they must."

Thadston says, "The Captains will be overseeing citizens moving to the tunnels beneath town and helping to organize the security of our citizens who dwell beneath town."

Zosopage says, "Formalities are meant for special occasions. Not times like these."

Lylia says, "And to deal with looters and miscreants."

Leafiara whispers something to Maags.

Thadston says, "That is my final point."

Maags whispers something to Leafiara.

Thadston says, "The golems will help do grunt work to help citizens move any belongings needed. The militia will help coordinate and organize it all to make it...less chaotic as possible."

Thadston says, "Meanwhile, the city has twenty four hours."

Rainedrop quietly asks, "We have to go underground?"

Thadston says, "If any citizen refuses to leave by tomorrow night, we will force them."

Bernadette softly says, "Tha' not much."

Thadston says, "Alendrial has ships set aside for those who refuse to go willingly."

Speaking to Lylia, Tetreves says, "We'll need to evacuate the mead."

Pukk exclaims, "I will help evacuate the bank!"

Gostcrow asks, "Underground? I ain't no Dwarf you know?"

Zosopage says, "That's going to be a tough timetable to get things done but what must be done...."

Rainedrop quietly says, "There's rats down there."

Lylia says, "Travel above ground if you wish, but be far from town."

Felita asks, "What about the childrens?"

Thadston says, "The golems are tireless beings. The militia will work diligently. We'll get people moved."

Lylia adds, "And do not venture south."

Stormyrain says, "You can also go on the ships, or with Mother."

Rainedrop quietly asks, "Is Icemule safe?"

Gostcrow asks, "And that is to make me feel better about it, rats?"

Berost deeply says, "... against their will nae right."

Speaking to Rainedrop, Lazaryth says, "One would hope so."

Palfin quietly asks, "Will you be safe in your home?"

Lylia says, "It is a fine time to visit friends in Icemule Trace."

Thadston says, "Tomorrow night, if anyone refuses, the militia will go from home to home, sweeping through and ensuring we protect everyone."

Ysharra says, "The blight appears to be only expressed here."

Rainedrop quietly says, "Oh no."

Thadston says, "The golems will assist if needed."

Palfin quietly says, "Oh."

Ysharra says, "It either does not or will not cross the borders and Glatoph."

Speaking softly to Berost, Stormyrain says, "And we will work to not have to resort to that, by addressing the concerns of anyone who does not want to temporarily leave."

Thadston says, "Mayor, if you need a protection detail, please let me know, but I wouldn't dare insult you assuming you did."

Speaking to yourself, Leafiara says, "...knew it."

Ysharra says, "Your families will be safe, east and north. And likely welcomed."

Lylia says, "There is no town without its people. The buildings are not what merits saving."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Goldstr says, "As been said da Gryphon's Holding be oper fer folks an I speakin fer House Onoir our Fortress also be open."

Speaking deeply to Stormyrain, Berost says, "The way marshall used tha word protect now, aint right either."

Myharl deeply says, "Ah... is that what we're calling dragging people out of their homes? Protection."

Thadston agrees with Lylia.

Maylan asks, "What are you folks doing in my office?"

Thadston nods at Myharl.

Ysharra says, "The best way to assure the town survives is for the people to live, and return, and rebuild."

Ysharra says, "Not be burned along with it."

Rainedrop quietly says, "I will need a golem to help me carry my diamonds to Icemule."

Speaking to Ysharra, Lylia says, "Precisely."

Speaking deeply to Thadston, Myharl asks, "Shall we bring bags to put over their heads as well?"

Thadston says, "Don't be naive."

Thadston nods at Myharl.

Speaking to Myharl, Thrassus says, "That would help."

Speaking to Berost, Stormyrain says, "We haven't faced a foe like Raznel in a long time. She would not blink to destroy the entire town and all who dwell in it."

Speaking to Lylia, Ysharra says, "I'm just repeating you. I, for one, listen."

Gostcrow asks, "Do we need to empty our lockers too?"

Palfin quietly says, "Guess we won't be picking boxes in the East Tower then."

Lylia whispers something to Thadston.

Speaking to Gostcrow, Lazaryth says, "That's a very good question."

Thadston nods at Lylia.

Diamondelille says, "We got plenny of buckets coz she might make things hot."

Speaking to Thadston, Zosopage says, "Going to need many golems to protect the bank or else move the contents to Icemule or Solhaven."

Speaking to Gostcrow, Ysharra says, "The town storage is well warded. I think they should be fine."

Myharl deeply says, "Just making sure I undertand what we've become. That's all."

Lazaryth says, "Perhaps the lockers can be moved below ground as well."

Lylia whispers something to Thadston.

Speaking to Gostcrow, Ysharra says, "Take what you need to have with you, of course, and coin, if you have it."

Gostcrow says, "We can hope."

Berost deeply asks, "Ya understand I not leavin tha Hall, aye?"

Zosopage says, "Or some kind of impenatrable magic barrier."

Lylia says, "Most of you assembled here would not be in town anyway."

Lylia says, "You will be defending it by pressing the attack."

Ysharra says, "...we'll be in the center of the Bleak."

Speaking deeply to Lylia, Myharl says, "And some of us have homes and shops here."

Speaking to Ysharra, Maylan whines, "I don't want to go back there."

Thadston says, "Tomorrow eve we'll discuss how we might best strike at the Bleaklands."

Lylia says, "I have a home here, and a shop, and an office. I have Brigatta, which I have called home for decades."

Speaking to Maylan, Ysharra says, "I don't blame you. It's...loud. Desolate..."

Speaking to Maylan, Ysharra says, "I did find acantha leaf, though."

Maylan exclaims, "Ooo!"

Lylia says, "I do not ask anyone to go when I would not. In this, I feel we must set an example for others in town."

Speaking to Maylan, Lazaryth says, "It's like the inside of Pukk's head."

Loamian: "I've got a golem over here by the herbalist, he seems... curious."

Speaking to Lazaryth, Maylan exclaims, "That's horrific!"

Maylan says, "Folks are saying a golem is over by the herbalist, on the thought net."

Gostcrow asks, "How many entrances to the catacombs are there and will they all need guarding?"

Tetreves asks, "Wait, when are we fighting?"

Maylan: "Offer him some tea."

Thadston says, "By month's end we'll strike the Bleaklands."

Ysharra says, "There's no way of saying, for sure. What will come spilling out. Likely some dwarves, of course."

Loamian: "I'm afraid I haven't got any! All I've got is tequila."

Tetreves says, "I hate waiting."

Cryheart: "Think the golems are here to help evacuate citizens and to defend us."

Morofinwe: "That will just get him fired up."

Bernadette softly says, "I hate fitin dwervs."

Speaking deeply to Ysharra, Zolis says, "Its always dwarves."

Thadston says, "We cannot end Raznel until we end Brumas...and we need to do both as quickly and close together as we can."

Leafiara: "That's one way of putting it."

Speaking to Bernadette, Ysharra says, "If it helps, I doubt they are any more real than the phantoms we've seen around the paragons."

Speaking to Bernadette, Ysharra says, "I don't really know what causes them, but..."

Speaking to Tetreves, Zosopage says, "Month's end is only in 5 days."

Speaking to Zosopage, Tetreves asks, "Can we go now?"

Wrap-Up

Thadston asks, "I've work to do. Any questions?"

Bernadette softly says, "I hope they not related to Sir Shirkon."

Speaking to Zosopage, Tetreves says, "It's faster that way."

Speaking to Thadston, Ysharra asks, "Are you coming to the Bleaklands?"

Speaking to Zosopage, Lylia says, "Precisely why we felt the need to make haste."

Thadston says, "Yes."

Speaking to Thadston, Ysharra says, "...I worry what that might do to your wound, but I suppose there's no helping it."

Aurla melodically says, "What are these golems that you have spoken of."

Leafiara asks, "Has Pylasar shared any more theories after the hunt on Feastday?"

Speaking to Thadston, Lazaryth asks, "Will there be a role for adventurers here in town? Should some remain?"

Thadston says, "If I return or not, it doesn't matter."

Thadston nods at Ysharra.

Lylia asks, "One question. Are the golems instructed to protect property as well as people?"

Thadston says, "We have a job to do."

Speaking to Thadston, Ysharra says, "If you stay here you'll just get more of them."

Thadston says, "There may, yes."

Thadston nods at Lazaryth.

Speaking to Thadston, Ysharra asks, "Do you mean to come back?"

Thadston says, "Yes."

Speaking to Gostcrow, Lazaryth asks, "You hear that?"

Speaking to Thadston, Zosopage says, "No one gets left behind."

Thadston says, "I am a stubborn ass, but not a martyr."

Gostcrow says, "No I missed it."

Rainedrop quietly says, "Me too."

Speaking to Thadston, Ysharra says, "I am. And I don't think the coming days call for that sort of play."

Lylia explains, "Many are reticent to leave because they have homes here, all their worldly wealth. Knowing that they could leave it in safe hands, without the risk of greed -- for golems have no need of belongings -- would ease their minds and make them more likely to leave."

Speaking to Lylia, Lazaryth says, "I agree."

Gostcrow asks, "Hear what?"

Speaking to Gostcrow, Lazaryth says, "That there could be a role for adventurers who remain here, when the rest of us go into the Bleaklands."

Speaking deeply to Lylia, Berost says, "I am against tellin people what ta do when they be topld tha danger. They grown. They make up their own damn mind."

Speaking to Thadston, Lylia quips, "You are forbidden to die, for you are supposed to save me in some distant future. I have too much work to do to die waiting on you to save me."

Speaking to Gostcrow, Lazaryth says, "Perhaps some part to play for those who aren't highly trained yet."

Ysharra says, "If they stay, they're making decisions for the rest of us, too."

Ysharra says, "As we will be obligated to try and protect them."

Gostcrow asks, "You mean aside for dying?"

Ysharra says, "When we will be sorely strained as is."

Maags says, "I thinks considering what we has been thru over the last manies years that most of the citizenry does not 'preciate the threat this time."

Balley softly says, "I will be there to help as I can. I do not want to be the one to bring fire to town."

Thadston grins at Lylia.

Maags says, "They do need encouragement to go."

Gostcrow says, "That would be handy."

Ysharra says, "Most of us here will die. Likely multiple times."

Lylia coldly says, "If they stay, they choose death. People may always choose this, but they cannot then cry for help, knowing they have sealed their own fate."

Thadston says, "I doubt you brought me back just to die in a Bleakland."

Thadston nods at Lylia.

Ysharra says, "But we all- at least- I hope we all- have some arrangements made for that."

Speaking to Thadston, Lylia says, "That would simply be wasteful of my efforts."

Ysharra says, "The townsfolk don't."

Zosopage says, "Make sure you are well stocked in Lorminstra's favors."

Aurla melodically asks, "You brought him back?"

Goldstr says, "Folks kin take der savings to Mule fer a bit."

Lylia simply says, "Yes."

Aurla melodically says, "Oh for the love of Koar."

Lylia says, "Long story. Ask the Ithzir."

Gostcrow says, "I am not sure I can make it to Mule on my own."

Maags says, "All I has is her anyhow."

Speaking to Gostcrow, Lazaryth says, "We can help you get there if it comes down to that."

Maylan asks, "Will Pylasar be able to maintain a steady portal?"

Thadston glances at Raelee.

Maylan asks, "Or will I end up in a linen closet again?"

Speaking deeply to Gostcrow, Zolis says, "The trek to Solhaven is less treacherous."

Thadston says, "Actually..."

Speaking to Gostcrow, Leafiara says, "The trip to Solhaven is also quite a bit safer if you'd rather go there."

Zosopage says, "I can set rings for Icemule. That's not a bit deal."

Bernadette softly says, "Ye never know where you'll end up."

Thadston asks, "Are you confident you can re-open the portal the Bleaklands, Magister?"

Gostcrow says, "I assume there will be others of my ilk."

Speaking to Thadston, Raelee states, "Yes."

Loamian: "Well I've left him to his own devices, whatever they may be."

Shinann asks, "After Raznel did something to it?"

Rainedrop quietly says, "My magical orb takes me to Mule in an instant."

Speaking to Gostcrow, Lazaryth says, "That's a thoughtful assumption."

Thadston asks, "..and the witch's blood meddling with it?"

Xorus asks, "... and closing it after?"

Thadston nods at Xorus.

Speaking to Thadston, Raelee says, "It is less the opening that concerns me than the passing through."

Thadston says, "That."

Lylia: "The golems are here to prepare, and to protect the town."

Gostcrow says, "Gotta stick together when in jeopardy."

Diamondelille asks, "Orb might come in handy, aye?"

Thadston asks, "What concerns do you have surrounding passing through?"

Zosopage says, "Rings are cheaper."

Speaking to Thadston, Raelee says, "I simply consider what I might do if I wished to sabotage a portal."

Thadston says, "...which is."

Thadston rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Thadston says, "Save that thought for tomorrow."

Diamondelille asks, "Kin ye takes lotta folk with a ring or an orb?"

Thadston says, "When we finish our planning."

Thadston says, "Just make sure you can open and close it."

Speaking to Thadston, Raelee says, "Decoporealize you, or redirect you elsewhere, or cast something upon you, or remove something from you, or..."

Gostcrow asks, "Can you just park a pylon in a portal to block it?"

Lylia says, "They are not quite like a physical door."

Gostcrow says, "Oh."

Ysharra asks, "Has anyone spotted or spoken to Quinshon?"

Zosopage says, "Tell the navigators to take a break for the next week or so."

Thadston looks over at Ysharra and shakes his head.

Speaking thoughtfully to Gostcrow, Leafiara says, "To block it, no, but that's an interesting thought nonetheless..."

Lylia adds, "Although I appreciate the thought."

Raelee continues, "... otherwise cause injury, magical or practical, possibly shunt you elsewhere in the planar sense..."

Thadston says, "Peter has informed me Quinshon is gone."

Speaking to Thadston, Ysharra says, "Interesting."

Bernadette softly says, "Hidin er dead."

(Raelee abruptly halts her prattling off of various horrible things a portal could do.)

Thadston says, "It's my understanding Peter gave him something he needed."

Thadston says, "I have no idea what the hell that could even mean, but...no time."

Thadston says, "One demon at a time."

Gostcrow says, "Find me a portal and I will push a pylon into it."

Speaking to Gostcrow, Lazaryth says, "A good philosophy. Not dissimilar to my own."

Ysharra asks, "...are we sure pylons and those anti-magic fields are a good idea?"

Thadston says, "No."

Thadston says, "We'll see."

Lylia says, "Good ideas are in fairly short supply."

Speaking to Ysharra, Raelee asks, "What really defines a 'good' idea amongst all of this?"

Ysharra says, "I seem to recall what's happened the last few times a powerful artifact has gotten set loose by some unintended side effect..."

Rainedrop quietly says, "Reopen Ebons gate portal and we go to Caligos and shop our sadness away."

Maags says, "Better than no idea will has to do."

Thadston says, "I'll see you all tomorrow eve."

Lylia gently says, "There is no need to be sad. Victory is almost at hand."

Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra says, "Experimentation we don't have time for, I'm afraid."

Thadston says, "Goodnight."

Lord Thadston just limped through a varnished modwir door.

Discussion Afterward

Lylia says, "Goodnight to you."

Speaking to Ysharra, Raelee says, "Then no."

Speaking to Zosopage, Lylia says, "He does that."

Gostcrow says, "I like how this one thinks."

Speaking to Lylia, Ysharra says, "He's in pain. I know you know that, but..."

Goldstr says, "We shall have our strategy tomorrow."

Speaking to Ysharra, Raelee says, "Though logically speaking, I would expect greater instabilities outside of the anti-magic regions..."

Maags says, "Jus hopes the townfolk are not too scared of the golems."

Lylia asks, "Captains, is there anything further you need to finalize plans?"

Zosopage says, "Not one for lingering departures."

Speaking to Lylia, Ysharra says, "It glows like a beacon. Reminds me of...well."

Speaking quietly to herself, Raelee echoes, "... the anti-magic regions..."

Stormyrain says, "No, I believe we've been ordered quite clearly, on how to proceed."

Chamorr heartily says, "Strategy: if it's yellow kill it."

Lylia says, "Yes. Orders."

Stormyrain says, "But I thank you and if we run into anything, we will most certainly bring it to you."

Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra asks, "Something's shook loose in there, hasn't it?"

Shinann says, "Excuse me."

Shinann just went through a varnished modwir door.

Stormyrain says, "If you will excuse me, we have a lot of preparation to complete."

Speaking distractedly to Ysharra, Raelee asks, "Hmm?"

Stormyrain just left.

Gostcrow says, "We could put the ballista outside the portal and Maags could use it to hurl tarts at the enemy."

Maags exclaims, "Goodnight all. See yous tomorrow evening. With ideas hopes!"

Speaking to Raelee, Ysharra asks, "What are you thinking about?"

Lylia muses, "Next time, we should meet farther from town. It concerns me that Moot Hall might become a target."

Leafiara distractedly says, "Eve."
