Summary

  • The sounds of an approaching army rustle in the woods and the loud screech of a commander is heard ordering beasts around, but they respond half-heartedly. During the battle, the shrill voices orders the beasts to show the [[::Wehnimer's Landing|Landing]] they don't need the Fist.
  • They keep fighting for a while, but soon some giants start tossing down their weapons and making their way for the treeline--then kobgoblins and raiders join them. A half-elf in an ostentatious yellow cloak shrieks at them to stop him, but they glare at him--and then the dark-cloaked figure materializes and disembowels him.
  • Now reinvigorated, the retreating monsters return to the fray--only to stop short. It's a feint as others run through the streets: new glossy black scorpions with wickedly curved beaks, scaly bug-eyed coyotes, and oily misshapen salamanders.
  • Eventually a trumpet sounds and the army of creatures slows, as the reapers return to the dark-cloaked figure. All eventually leave, disappearing from view.

Enemy Approach

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see a plump ginger cat, the fiery red Aleyi disk, a speckled green tree frog, a black-tipped majestic snow leopard, a black-toed saddleback foxhound, the Donlaff disk, the Chandrellia disk, the Donnod disk, the Tzii disk, the Xoaludas disk, the Gidion disk, a wrathful mountain spirit that is flying around, the Legu disk, a touchy ocean spirit that is flying around, an enraged spring spirit that is flying around, the Jerthyl disk, a large acorn, a heavy slab of iron, a heavy slab of iron, a silver coin, a large acorn, some aloeas stem, the Ergwargen disk, a large acorn, a large acorn, a large acorn, a shiny spoon, a large acorn, a large acorn, a simple pottery mug, a large acorn, a yellow primrose, a yellow primrose, a heap of heavy stones, a rose-marrow potion, a rose-marrow potion, a heap of heavy stones, a large acorn, a tendril of trumpet vine, some stone benches with some stuff on it and an herbal remedy donation bin.

The sound of snapping tree trunks resonates through the evening air, and a low, ominous growl reverberates through the surrounding area.

Speaking to Traiva, Leafiara says, "And also in--"

Chandrellia softly exclaims, "There!"

Speaking to Leafiara, Traiva asks, "In..?"

Leafiara muses, "Well then."

Regwen says, "Oh oh."

Chandrellia yells, "To arms!"

Speaking to Traiva, Leafiara says, "Also just outside or inside the gates."

Speaking worriedly to Leafiara, Elphieya says, "Be careful."

Speaking cheekily to Elphieya, Leafiara says, "Like I'm ever."

Leafiara recites:

"Brace for impact!"

Tzii sings:

"Pepper tastes funny"

Leafiara muses, "I'm going to scout on that gate really quickly. Right back, if I'm not killed."

Beldannon quietly says, "Sounds like fun."

Leifa whispers something to Erienne.

Dwi heartily exclaims, "Braced!"

[scouting, nothing, return to West Gate]

[Wehnimer's, Exterior]

The muted sounds of loud bartering from within Wehnimer's Landing, and the lonely calls of a pair of mated fenvaoks high up in the air vie for your attention as you march along the outer western edge of the town. You also see the fiery red Aleyi disk, a jaunty will-o-wisp spirit that is flying around, a rolton that appears dead, a town guard, a tall wooden archery tower, a reinforced large wooden gate and a withered patch of grass.

Also here: High Lord Asben, Lady Erienne, Leifa, Aleyi, Mayor Leafiara, Arav

A startlingly loud screech comes echoing through the trees, "Move, you miserable beasts! All of you, get into position, and make it quick, before I lose my temper with the lot of you!"

Leafiara: "Here they come! We're gathering at west gate!"

Asben asks, "So here's like 6 of us?"

The voice of Asben says, "5."

Leafiara: "I don't see anyone at north gate yet."

Leafiara confidently asks, "Good enough, eh?"

Leifa asks, "Concerned?"

Traiva: "Xilona and I are holding a tower overlooking the bridge to Voln."

Leafiara: "Excellent, thank you!"

Erienne says, "You're just in time."

Leifa says, "Join us, Eoghain."

Erienne yells, "Run for your lives!"

Eoghain asks, "Quet are we doing?"

Madevra: "Got some healer and life givin' folk startin' ta gather at the well. Think we'll be ready 'ere."

Erienne recites:

"And if you don't, please join Leafi, not Leifa"

Speaking mischievously to Eoghain, Leafiara says, "Killin'."

Erienne says, "Cause Leifa and I might kill you."

Eoghain surprisedly says, "Oh. As a community? Now this is something I can get behind."

Arav says, "I'm missing the first elementals, if anyone can spare a shot."

Leifa says, "There are some critters storming towards the gates, or so the sounds of it."

Leafiara: "How's north gate? They haven't advanced on west gate yet."

Eoghain says, "I just assumed some giant had indigestion."

Arav says, "I didn't see anyone at the north gate."

Speaking wryly to Eoghain, Leafiara says, "They probably do."

Traiva: "We are both healers, if anyone needs to run up here for healing. The tower is near Silvergate."

Erienne says, "Yes."

Erienne says, "And we should put it out of its misery."

Speaking to Erienne, Leafiara affirms, "That too."

Speaking to Erienne, Eoghain asks, "It's Eliaku, isn't it?"

Speaking to Eoghain, Leifa says, "Ooof, bat soup didn't sit well."

Erienne exclaims, "It might be!"

A semi-hysterical, high-pitched peal of laughter comes echoing through the trees, followed up by a loud proclamation, "Finally! Now, on my word, kill every last one of them!" A somewhat half-hearted round of snarls and grunts serves as a tepid response to this rallying cry, and various shapes amongst the trees take up ready positions.

Shinann says, "Hmm."

Leafiara notes, "Hmm, they're having trouble with their forces again..."

Arav: "Anyone at the north gate?"

Arav says, "I think they have more skill in assembling oddities than commanding them."

Leafiara speculates, "I'm beginning to think there are at least two commanders."

Lurrah: "Very few of us."

Arav says, "Going to north gate."

Leafiara says, "The one yelling now is the less effective one... likely."

Eoghain asks, "Who's got mobility?"

Arav: "As many as west gate."

Erienne says, "You do."

The town guard steps in front of Eldanari and says, "Excuse me, madam, there's an entrance fee to use this gate. Five silvers please."

Speaking to Erienne, Eoghain says, "Sha'haisa."

Speaking to Eoghain, Erienne says, "You're welcome."

Speaking to a town guard, Eoghain says, "You tell em."

Speaking to Leafiara, Eoghain says, "Well disciplined work force you have here."

Shinann: "There are folks at both gates."

Speaking cheekily to Eoghain, Leafiara says, "We tend to get by on sheer power."

Kathralynn softly asks, "This is all of us?"

Erienne says, "Apparently."

Leifa says, "There are forces surrounding the town gates."

Leafiara admits, "...usually more of us than this, but--I'm sure it'll be fine."

Leafiara adds, "Maybe."

Kathralynn softly says, "We can but die trying."

Leafiara defiantly exclaims, "Get out here, ya louts!"

Severine whispers something to Leafiara.

Erienne yells, "Stop yer lolligaggin!"

Leafiara dubiously notes, "They sure are slow today."

The shrill voice in the trees screeches out, "CHARGE!" and a series of monstrous forms starts crashing towards the town at a moderate pace, ragged and undisciplined, but growing quickly in sheer numbers, until a horde is closing in on the town!

Eoghain says, "I wish I could remember defensive spells from foreign circles."

Arav: "Nothing north gate."

Leafiara: "All clear at west gate for now."

Traiva: "Nothing seen at the bridge to Voln."

Erienne yells, "Tease!"

Leafiara: "I see a mobile tower just inside west gate, in case they breach at any point."

The Battle Begins

A two-headed grey orc raider treks in!

[combat]

Chandrellia: "TSC is holding well with the injured for now."

Leafiara says, "So far so good.."

A stitched four-armed giant lumbers in, surrounded by a raging storm!

[combat]

Leafiara recites:

"Giants! Don't cast Cone of Elements, whatever you do!"

[combat]

Arav: "Dead are outside town against the wall."

Eoghain says, "Told ya. It's giants."

[combat]

Adalfuns: "Scarab outside gemshop."

You hear someone screaming as a flailing body comes flying through the air towards you. With a wicked thud, Eldanari hits the ground,

as a blast of air blows by you!

... 19 points of damage!

Good blow to chest!

She is stunned!

Leafiara says, "...hm, they're literally flinging bodies."

[combat]

Arav: "Giant I believe north of the west gate."

[combat]

Arav: "Contact north gate."

Leafiara yells, "Is that fire ours?"

[combat]

Traiva: "Void at the split to the Voln bridge."

[combat; we don't catch Traiva's warning and start getting obliterated by the void]

Alterock says, "Thanks."

Arav: "Do not leave town."

[combat]

The ghostly voice of Leafiara says, "Voids? Hmm..."

[combat]

Erienne says, "Hrm."

[combat]

The ghostly voice of Leafiara mumbles, "I'll be back shortly."

[Leifa drags her, extended triage, eventual return]

[combat]

Speaking to Shinann, Leafiara says, "I think there are at least two commanders. The one in charge now has more trouble controlling their army..."

Svardin exclaims, "Ya just missed me!"

Raneng exclaims, "He did!"

Shinann says, "Well, that could work in our favor."

Leifa drops a plain iron box.

Leifa says, "That is heavy."

Svardin says, "Hmm."

Leafiara picks up a plain iron box.

You carefully examine the iron box and determine that the weight is about 42 pounds.

Svardin asks, "Can one ewave da giants?"

A sleek brown mouse exclaims, "Hi! uhh this is scary!"

Speaking to Svardin, Leafiara exclaims, "Think so!"

Leifa says, "I heard a raider."

Raneng says, "Scary.."

Svardin says, "Over der."

A veritable swarm of chittering reapers pelts towards the town, completely obscuring the ground in places. Small packs of the ravenous beasts break off every few seconds, swarming over hapless or unwary targets.

[extended combat]

Through a reinforced large wooden gate, you hear Shyspirit yell, "Gas cloud!"

In the blink of an eye, reapers appear, seemingly from nowhere, and swarm over Leafiara! High-pitched chittering is heard for a brief moment, followed immediately by an interrupted screech as the mass of reapers darts away at nearly incomprehensible speed, carrying Leafiara's leg with them!

[extended combat]

In the blink of an eye, reapers appear, seemingly from nowhere, and swarm over Raneng! High-pitched chittering is heard for a brief moment, followed immediately by an interrupted screech as the mass of reapers darts away at nearly incomprehensible speed, carrying Raneng's leg with them!

Leafiara woundedly mutters, "There go the reapers again."

[combat]

Leafiara recites:

"Keep those gales going!"

[extended combat]

Leafiara recites:

"Sovyn cloves at the ready, reapers are on the move!"

Leifa says, "Gah dang."

Raneng says, "Going to have to see about this leg."

Arav: "Careful, wind will blow you away from groups."

Leafiara: "How's north gate? Four holding out at west gate."

A sleek brown mouse exclaims, "Hi Leafiara!"

Elphieya: "Bad, Leafi."

Speaking to a fat grey mouse, Leafiara exclaims, "Hiya!"

Arav: "North gate lost a couple. Winds blew me off, I'm in town now healing up."

A sleek brown mouse says, "My master is hiding in the inn."

Leafiara says, "Several just south of here..."

[extended combat]

Svardin: "Can ya cast anythin at a giant?"

[combat]

Leafiara: "Anything but Cone of Elements."

[combat]

The ghostly voice of Raneng says, "Damn."

[combat]

The ghostly voice of Raneng says, "Finally got me."

[combat]

Svardin asks, "Who is leadin here?"

Leafiara recites:

"Join up!"

[combat]

Opposing Leadership?

A shrill cry calls out, "Yes! Yes! Show them we do not NEED the Fist!" At the mention of this name, almost every invader's actions slow for a half a heartbeat, but they quickly rejoin the fight.

[combat]

Erienne says, "They're all over town too."

[combat]

Leafiara says, "Knew it..."

[combat]

Arav: "You were right, Leafiara."

[combat]

Chandrellia: "Uumm what the hell?"

[combat]

Leafiara: "Indeed..."

[combat]

Kothos: "You're right, you don't need the Fist."

[extended combat]

The ghostly voice of Towermen says, "Really."

Svardin says, "Moof."

[extended combat]

Leafiara recites:

"Keep up the breeze! Good job!"

[very extended combat; another void starts wiping us out]

Leifa says, "Where are the warpaths when ya need 'em."

The ghostly voice of Leafiara muses, "Those voids are a real problem."

[extended triage all throughout]

Roahan softly says, "Um. I left for a month and now the town has gone to hell."

Paitence: "Are there bow and arrows up there?"

Roahan softly exclaims, "I'm not happy. this is why we don't have nice things!"

Arav: "There are ballista!"

Speaking to Roahan, the ghostly voice of Gillien says, "Sounds like you shouldn't've left then."

Tzii dreamily says, "The legends all know."

Traiva: "Ballista are a lot easier to prepare with two people."

Paitence: "Town center is surrounded right now. I can't budge."

Speaking to Roahan, the ghostly voice of Gillien asks, "Are there any monk spells that can resurrect like clerics can?"

Roahan just left.

Arav asks, "Who wants to go to a ballista with me?"

Farseeker says, "Is there a group out there fighting? We were all solo a few minutes ago."

Arav says, "There are groups."

Arav says, "I could use at least one person to help me man the ballsita."

Speaking to Farseeker, Leafiara says, "Usually groups gather at the gates, or wander until you find a roaming one too."

Arav: "Join me in town square to get to the ballista."

Chandrellia recites softly:

"Please take the dead to the well to get raised, it's easier for the clerics to see what they are doing"

Arianiss: "There's a horror southwest of North Gate."

A celebratory shriek echoes through the evening air, "Yes! Yes! Kill them all! Let the reapers FEAST this fine evening!"

Tennalnen: "The north tower of West Gate is secure."

Svardin says, "Lets clear dem."

Kothos: "I didn't think it was because they were afraid of us. Oh dear."

Arav says, "Need one person to join me for manning a ballista. It should be safe once we're in there."

Guister asks, "What kind of invasion is this?"

Arav recites:

"Ballista team, join me. If you want to fight but can't stand toe to toe, this is how."

Speaking dreamily to Guister, Leafiara says, "A five out of ten or so, I call it."

The ghostly voice of Classen deeply says, "As soon as I'm living I swear I will get my vengeance."

Leafiara dreamily says, "The voids have been a problem but other than that we're holding up consistently."

Arav: "Last call for a ballista buddy to join me in the town square. After that, you'll have to run on your own."

Traiva: "Gas cloud at the road split before the bridge to Voln."

A party of giants suddenly turns and runs for the treeline, throwing down their weapons! An indignant screech sounds from the trees, "What are you DOING?! Get in there and fight, you worthless freaks!"

Leafiara: "Whoever you are out there, you're no Fist."

Leafiara: "It's almost sad."

[return to battle]

[Wehnimer's, Outside Gate]

Citizens, merchants and assorted dregs of society jostle against you before the great wooden gates of Wehnimer's Landing. Harried guards and militiamen try to keep the chaos to a minimum, but it is hard to keep track of those entering, let alone leaving, this large trading post. A dirt path encircling the wooden palisade of the town leads east and southwest. Nailed prominently to the wooden wall beside the gate is a sign you really should read. You also see a sleek brown mouse, a massive snowy white tiger, a black-toed saddleback foxhound, a large raven, a small black hawk, a ruffled long-winged falcon that is flying around, a narrow-winged falcon, the Dhairn disk, a severed boar foreleg, an ivy-covered white monir tower and the Wayside inn.

Also here: Mayor Leafiara, Nazrym, Tyrosthenes, Lexbubba, Roelon, Leifa, Snowrok, Lord Telekin, Lord Aranthius, Tzii, Shinann, Lord Mischung, Ondreian, Conquerer of Reim Dhairn

A sleek brown mouse asks, "The giants be runnin away. Does this mean we are finally safe?"

Roelon deeply asks, "Losin' control again?"

Roelon deeply says, "Heard it happened before."

The voice of Telekin says, "Hrm.."

The voice of Telekin says, "Where are these giants.."

Speaking to Roelon, Leafiara says, "It did, but this is even more extreme than last time."

The voice of Telekin says, "Mayor Leafiara.."

The voice of Telekin says, "I have come from the Isle of Teras to help defend the city of my youth."

Dhairn quietly says, "Join up, Sis."

Asben: "There's no one at the west gate."

Leifa says, "Long time."

Leafiara exclaims, "Excellent, glad to have you!"

The rout continues, with a mixed party of kobgoblins and raiders pelting side by side toward the trees. Suddenly in front of them is a reedy-looking half-elf in an ostentatious yellow cloak. With wide eyes, he throws his arms out to either side and shrieks, "Stop! I command you to STOP!" The creatures come to a labored halt, glaring at the little man.

Lexbubba says, "Welcome to smashin' zone."

Dhairn quietly says, "What the..."

Leafiara mutters, "Well this is going places."

Chandrellia: "I think he is having serious trouble maintaining control keep it up everyone!"

Arianiss: "That horror is still northwest of the gate."

[Leafi goes scouting the forest to look for what's going on, but no visible sign of him (OOC translation: no NPC out there)]

Leafiara says, "Several abominations and giants are roaming the forest."

Gillien asks, "Who's that elf?"

Leifa asks, "Oh you moved on to other ranger ladies, Telekin?"

The voice of Telekin asks, "Shall we go look for them?"

Dhairn quietly asks, "Leafi? Want to form a clean up party while I hold the gate?"

Gillien asks, "The elf that's commanding them?"

The voice of Telekin asks, "Or wait for them to attack?"

Shinann says, "Did not see anything."

The yellow-cloaked man begins to speak, but before he can utter a syllable, a dark-cloaked figure materializes at his side. Never slowing its movements, the figure flows around the man, blades glittering in the pale moonlight. The figure comes to a sudden halt, and a hearbeat later, the wet sound of entrails splattering to the ground fills the immediate area as the disemboweled former leader of the horde gawks down at his own innards, then slumps over them, dead.

Speaking to Dhairn, Leafiara says, "Agreed."

Dhairn quietly says, "If you can, join up on Leafiara."

Mischung softly says, "I wish I had a beer."

Aranthius says, "That was grisly."

Dhairn quietly says, "Goin huntin."

Leafiara recites:

"Join for cleanup in the Lower Dragonsclaw!"

Raneng says, "Well then.."

The voice of Telekin exclaims, "Let's go!"

Leafiara recites:

"It's wild out there, so be aware!"

Gillien says, "Well I guess it doesn't matter who the elf is."

Gillien says, "The elf is now dead."

Dhairn quietly says, "One or two of you stay with me."

Leafiara recites:

"Heading for the forest in 5..."

Chandrellia: "Ok he just killed his own??"

Dhairn quietly says, "Just in case."

Shinann says, "Well."

Gillien asks, "So how's the other guy?"

[extended combat]

Re-Rally

The dark-cloaked figure holds up one bloody dagger and swipes it downward in a vicious arc. The monsters who had been retreating scream out their approval and turn toward the town, rushing back to the attack. Behind the figure, many, many forms become visible amongst the trees, and then they, too, join the fray, obscuring all sight of the dark-cloaked figure.

[extended combat, return to west gate, more extended combat]

In the blink of an eye, reapers appear, seemingly from nowhere, and swarm over Leafiara! High-pitched chittering is heard for a brief moment, followed immediately by an interrupted screech as the mass of reapers darts away at nearly incomprehensible speed, carrying Leafiara's leg with them!

The ghostly voice of Tennalnen says, "Figures it was a big guy."

Swarming

A terrified cry goes up from somewhere in town, "It's a feint! It's a feint! They're in the town! Take cover! Oh Gods!"

The ghostly voice of Selfane says, "Arachnid."

Dagnyr quietly says, "Uh oh."

Leafiara dubiously asks, "What does that even mean?"

Alosaka says, "That sounds bad."

The ghostly voice of Rebutia raspily says, "Hhheeeeeeeellllllppppp."

Roelon deeply asks, "Ugh...they breached the walls?"

Leafiara raises her Mandis Crystal shard skyward!

Sammoon says, "That implosion from the shadows is rough."

Speaking to Asben, Leafiara says, "Going to see if this affects them at all."

Shinann asks, "Was that to distract us?"

Speaking to Shinann, Leafiara says, "Maybe..."

Roelon deeply says, "Distract us from where..."

Dsaine whispers something to Kateerina.

You also see a scaly bug-eyed coyote, a scaly bug-eyed coyote, a scaly bug-eyed coyote, a scaly bug-eyed coyote, a scaly bug-eyed coyote, a scaly bug-eyed coyote, a scaly bug-eyed coyote, a glossy black scorpion with a wickedly curved beak that appears stunned, a glossy black scorpion with a wickedly curved beak that appears stunned, a glossy black scorpion with a wickedly curved beak that appears dead, a sleek red-footed falcon that is flying around, a glossy black scorpion with a wickedly curved beak that appears dead, a glossy black scorpion with a wickedly curved beak that appears dead, a scaly bug-eyed coyote, a scaly bug-eyed coyote, a glossy black scorpion with a wickedly curved beak that appears dead, a glossy black scorpion with a wickedly curved beak that appears dead, a bone-threaded oily grey reaper, a glossy black scorpion with a wickedly curved beak that appears dead, a glossy black scorpion with a wickedly curved beak that appears stunned, a bone-threaded oily grey reaper, a glossy black scorpion with a wickedly curved beak that appears stunned, a glossy black scorpion with a wickedly curved beak and a narrow alleyway.

[extended combat]

[Town Square, West]

Here in the midst of the town stretches the cobblestoned main bazaar, its lamplit lanes abuzz with traders and vendors hawking their wares at any hour of the day or night. Groups of citizens, discussing the day's events or preparing for nighttime hunts, gather around the doors of the merchants whose shops border the square. The gilded but peeling stone facade of the First Elanith Bank dominates this side of the square. You also see an oily misshapen salamander, an oily misshapen salamander, a glossy black scorpion with a wickedly curved beak that appears dead, a glossy black scorpion with a wickedly curved beak that appears dead and a cudgel.

Also here: Mayor Leafiara, Lady Erienne, Talman

Waves of scorpions, salamanders, and coyotes slither out of nooks and crannies all over town, turning their fury on the innocent townsfolk! A scorpion dives towards a street vendor, burying its massive stinger deep in the man's chest. Before the man has even reached the ground, the reapers are there, dismembering him with a terrible efficiency and making off with their prizes.

[combat]

Leafiara: "The creatures in town are mostly numbers! Let's clear them out!"

[combat]

Leafiara: "As in, they're not as dangerous as the ones outside."

Leafiara: "Individually."

[extended combat]

Leafiara yells, "Not in the Landing ya don't!"

[combat]

A scaly bug-eyed coyote lunges off of a rooftop and snaps its jaws closed around the unsuspecting throat of a young man, ripping it wide open while simultaneously breaking it in mid-leap! The man crashes under the momentum of the coyote, and the reapers swarm him, ripping and tearing.

[combat]

Paitence: "Avaia's body is lying out near the trail to the wooded glade. I can see her from the window."

[combat]

The voice of Asben asks, "Where are the Rooks?"

[combat]

Asben asks, "And the Hendorans?"

The voice of Asben says, "I'm with you Leafi."

Farseeker says, "Elemental core of Elanthia does some damage."

Leafiara says, "I don't want the Hendorans, and the Rooks are likely preparing for some things I've asked them about."

[combat]

The voice of Asben says, "I agree but better them than we get pulverized."

[combat]

Leafiara acknowledges, "Fair."

[combat]

The voice of Asben says, "Good kill."

You also see a tarnished ring, a violet sapphire, a claidhmore, a sleek red-footed falcon that is flying around, a ruffled grey-headed hawk that is flying around, an ivory-billed collared toucan that is flying around, a peak lion, a reinforced shield, a sleek brown mouse, a wooden arrow, an enruned thanot chest, a claidhmore, a morning star, a reinforced shield, a large raven, a chunky ash grey rock mouse, a wooden arrow, a morning star, a reinforced shield, a wooden arrow, a morning star, a reinforced shield, a wooden arrow, the translucent Raggler disk, an ivy-covered white monir tower and the Wayside inn.

Raggler says, "Man ogres."

[travel, combat]

The voice of Asben asks, "Where ya gonna use it?"

Leafiara says, "Hmm..."

Leafiara says, "I've already tried, but--"

[combat]

The voice of Asben asks, "Would you prefer the weapon made from one?"

[combat]

Leafiara says, "It appears to have no efect on them."

[extended combat]

Asben says, "I have a longsword made with a shard."

Asben says, "If you'd like to test it."

Leafiara: "Is backup needed anywhere?"

The voice of Asben says, "I'll go get it."

Dhairn quietly says, "Good job, Sleepy."

Leafiara exclaims, "Go for it!"

Dhairn quietly says, "I'll recommend you to Leafi for promotion."

[combat]

Leafiara says, "Well then."

Dhairn recites quietly:

"ON THE MAYOR OR DIE"

Telekin says, "Yes."

Telekin says, "I have slain many this day.."

[combat]

Telekin says, "GIANT."

[combat]

Telekin says, "BAH."

[extended combat]

Leafiara asks, "These horrors... what are they?" [OOC: Stitched pustule-ridden horrors. At a guess, they're the mechanical opposite of the leopard-headed ogres, being virtually untouchable by magic (if not outright) and having an immense 594 CS, but barely defeatable by high end melee, while the ogres are virtually untouchable by melee and have high AS and claidhmores, but are barely defeatable by high end magic. Both are well-post-cap creatures. Some of the effects could simply be boons, in the case of the horror.]

[combat]

Telekin says, "Whoops sorry."

[combat]

Telekin says, "The ogres block the cone."

[combat]

Leafiara dubiously asks, "What in the world are these horrors?" [she said, finding that it seemed immune to all cleric magic at very least]

>appr horr

The pustule-ridden horror is medium in size and about six feet high in her current state.

The horror could probably wipe the floor with you.

The pustule-ridden horror appears to be ghastly, tough, muculent, apt, flashy, fulgent, and illustrious.

[combat]

The ghostly voice of Lexbubba says, "Yowsers."

[combat; have to withdraw from Pestilence]

Arianiss: "Any elemental casters set up somewhere?"

A harsh, clear trumpet sounds from nearby, and every monster that had been charging out of the trees slows its approach and takes up a resting position, awaiting further orders. The dark-cloaked figure glides into view, a horn in hand, and watches, motionless, as the waves of reapers come flowing back across the battlefield, carrying their prizes with them.

Shinann says, "Oh."

The ghostly voice of Friston softly asks, "I guess they're back?"

Leafiara says, "Some kind of odd horror is with them..."

Leafiara says, "How to deal with the horror, though..."

Also here: Mayor Leafiara, Master Neelin, Conquerer of Reim Tranquia, Conquerer of Reim Dhairn, Esperath, the body of Zegres who is lying down

[well, they killed it somehow]

Tranquia asks, "Any fiends left?"

Dhairn quietly says, "There will be."

The dark-cloaked figure eyes the town, then turns to the monstrosities all around it. It slowly shakes its head, and the creatures immediately begin to retreat, moving back amongst the deeper forest and disappearing from view. The figure watches them leave, then turns and darts off in a different direction, quickly moving out of sight.

[some combat and cleanup, but it's more or less over]
