Quiver and Release

[Quiver and Release - 26514 - ( 8081054 )]
A variety of feathers hang from hemp strings along the walls of the wagon, accounting for a vast array of bird species, while aging parchments pressed beneath glass offer instruction on various fletching methods. A tightly woven wicker basket sits at the corner of one of the rugs cushioning the floor of the wagon, and a slim metal-framed case sits beneath a wall-length peg board. Glass-shaded lamps filled with amber oil are lit to shed ample light across the wares.

Welcome. The pouches contain feathers that match the color of the fabric. The bronze razor gives fletchings fire flares. The silver razor gives fletchings cold flares. The electrum razor gives fletchings lightning flares. The copper razor gives fletchings impact flares. The platinum razor gives fletchings vacuum flares. All razors have 50 charges.

In the slim metal-framed case you see: a topaz-encrusted platinum fletching razor, a geode-inlaid copper fletching razor, an electrum and white opal fletching razor, a ruby-edged bronzed fletching razor and a silver and aquamarine fletching razor.

Analyze:
You get the feeling that the base and long (but not the show) of this razor can be altered by any merchant, provided it remains a "razor" and that nothing indicates that the blade is dull or not functioning.

This razor has limited charges. LOOKing at the razor will hint at an idea of the number of charges left based on the intensity of the brilliance around the razor, where the color indicates flare type.

Examine:
It's a fletching razor. It's in good shape.
The razor is surrounded by a flickering storm grey aura.

You get the distinct impression that any willing merchant can alter the fletchings, but be aware that only the "adjective" part of the fletchings's base will show up on a finished arrow (meaning, only the adjective part of the 15/15/15 (the middle 15) will show up on fletched arrows). Due to this, some merchants may only be willing to alter that part of your fletchings.

Alterations to the adjective must make sense to be on a fletching. This includes: colors; paint and dyes (eg. blue-painted, red-dyed, green-stained); designs that make sense on a small fletching (pink-striped, trident-stamped); or feathers of a specific bird (green parrot, mottled falcon). Nothing crazy, like attachable adornments (no deathstone-studded fletchings!), are allowed.

Examine:
There are 100 fletchings in the bundle, made from the feather of some local avian creature and designed to stabilize projectile during flight.

Quiver and Release, East

[Quiver and Release - 26518 - ( 8081055 )]
On a stained and scarred workbench, a myriad of sharp tools sit in neat rows along one side, while small glass jars of paint line the other side. A padded stool sits nearby, and hanging from the rafters in the back is an empty birdcage. Just beyond the workbench is a small round door with a brass knob set into the rear wall.

Quiver and Release, Raffles

[Quiver and Release, Raffles - 27608 - ( 8081431 )]
This cramped space is lit by a pair of oil lamps dangling from the rafters overhead, and the walls are lined with the parts and pieces of bows in various stages of completion. On a toggled contraption mounted on the back wall, lengths of sinew and leather are stretched between wooden vise clips, and a rack beneath holds a collection of chisels, gouges, and mallets suited for wood carving.

At various times, I will be offering the following services: Custom dying of feathers or fletchings Recharging flaring fletching razors Raffling fletching razors with permanent flares And, raffling several rare wood bows of various makes. Raffles are through the door.
