[Solhaven Inn, Taproom - 5715] (u4740022)
A highly polished modwir bar runs the length of the room with several stools in front of it. Brass and crystal wall sconces lend some light to the otherwise dim room. The wall behind the bar is mirrored, which reflects the myriad bottles of every shape, size, and color that are on the shelf in front of it. You also see a quirky lake spirit that is flying around, a sleek blue-eyed black cat that is sitting and the hammered bronze Vyrshkana disk.
Also here: Lord Banjar, Cythis, Haelly, Jaired, Narsisius who is sitting, Cinto, Vyrshkana, Kiel, Tanai, Oliviero
Obvious exits: north, northeast
Haelly grins at Jaired.
Speaking to Jaired, Vyrshkana asks, "Cupcake?"
Cythis grins.
Jaired shrugs at Haelly.
Kiel tosses a vine-carved ebonwood flute with moonlight silver keys into one of the containers hanging from his morduska hide bandolier.
Cythis grunts in greeting.
Speaking to Vyrshkana, Jaired says, "Nah thanks... trying to watch my figure."
Banjar waves.
Oliviero nods at Banjar.
Banjar takes a drink from his iced lemonade.
Narsisius nods in greeting.
Oliviero takes a bite of his cardamom cupcake.
Tanai stares off into space.
Haelly says, "Evening folks. Welcome to the Solhaven Inn. Name's Haelly."
Narsisius waves to Haelly.
Banjar reaches into the cage and pulls out a thick-furred black and tan puppy with tall pointy ears, cradling her in the crook of his arm.
You say, "Good evening eveyone."
Banjar put a glass of iced lemonade in his leather backpack.
Oliviero nods to you.
Kiel nods.
Tanai glances at you.
Narsisius nods in greeting to you.
Jaired nods to Haelly in greeting.
Speaking to Haelly, Oliviero says, "Best bar in town, here."
Haelly grins at Oliviero.
Haelly exclaims, "I'm so glad you feel that way!"
Tanai says, "How is it the best bar? There's nothing to drink."
Jaired removes a bronze-banded large oak keg from in his munitions case.
Jaired places a bronze-banded large oak keg on the floor and fiddles with the tap. Looks like it's party time!
Jaired says, "Pff... ye of little faith."
Kiel exclaims, "Karl!"
Oliviero says, "Plenty to drink."
A sleek blue-eyed black cat languidly stalks the area, making prolonged figure-eights around everything and everyone he passes.
Tanai grins crookedly.
Tanai says, "Yeah, NOW."
Jaired says, "Karl blesses this gathering."
Haelly chuckles.
Jaired helps himself to some oak-aged bourbon.
Vyrshkana put a ganache-frosted Saewehna dark chocolate cupcake in her willow cupcake box.
You roll your eyes at Jaired.
Vyrshkana put a substantial willow cupcake box in her spidersilk haversack.
Vyrshkana helps herself to some oak-aged bourbon.
Kiel helps himself to some oak-aged bourbon.
Vyrshkana takes a drink from her oak-aged bourbon.
Vyrshkana looks rather relaxed.
Kiel raises his oak-aged bourbon in a toast!
Speaking to you, Jaired says, "Yes, even you."
Narsisius twists his head slightly, cracking his neck. He looks relieved.
Cinto looks thoughtfully at Jaired.
Speaking to Tanai, Oliviero says, "You have to know the right lads and lasses around here."
You remark, "Must Karl bless every gathering?"
Tanai surreptitiously glances at Vyrshkana.
Oliviero helps himself to some oak-aged bourbon.
Haelly says, "One moment folks, I will return shortly. Need to go help with a few things for a local gathering tonight. A young girl's gone missing so the family has organized a search party."
Speaking to Oliviero, Tanai says, "I know everyone I want to know."
Haelly wanders off.
Cinto asks, "Seems kind of bad form to bring your own booze to a bar?"
Jaired pulls his ahmdir blue face-wrap aside.
Jaired takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
Kiel grins at Cinto.
Speaking to Cinto, Jaired says, "You might be right."
Oliviero takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
A sleek blue-eyed black cat says, "Oh he is right."
Speaking to Cinto, Tanai says, "This bar doesn't offer anything to drink as far as I can tell."
Narsisius shifts his weight.
You gesture toward the black acorn amulet, exiling the sanguine will-o'-wisp inside. The amulet begins glowing sanguine.
There is no merchant here to order anything from.
Narsisius leans against a polished modwir bar.
There is nothing on the bar.
Flames flare at the hem of your damask dress, tumbling in roiling waves upward along the skirt to break against the waist of the bodice, where a calmer tide of ethereal azure fire slithers along the fabric.
Kiel says, "It cant be helped when our booze is of such high quality."
Kiel takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
Kiel looks rather relaxed.
Oliviero takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
Oliviero looks rather relaxed.
Cythis helps himself to some oak-aged bourbon.
Narsisius appears to be trying hard not to grin.
Jaired appears less secure.
Cythis takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
Cythis looks rather relaxed.
Vyrshkana frowns.
You hear Haelly's voice from not far away, getting closer as she says, "Right this way, Mister Saxe." just before entering the room.
A sleek blue-eyed black cat digs his paws into the ground and begins kneading away with every ounce of his focus on the current task. As quick as he began, he glances up and then wanders away.
You see Ladicius Saxe.
He appears to be a Human.
He is average height. He appears to be youthful. He has silver-flecked blue-grey eyes and alabaster skin. He has cropped, tousled chestnut hair swept back from the temples. He has a clean-shaven face, a classical nose and a birth mark.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a black feather-trimmed hat, a beveled slender crystal vial strung from a thin silver chain, a tailored burgundy linen shirt with a crisp collar, a slender black leather belt, some fitted black linen trousers with narrow pleats, and a pair of polished black leather shoes with low red oak heels.
Speaking to Ladicius, Haelly says, "Here we are sir."
Ladicius nods.
Oliviero nods at Ladicius.
Narsisius nods in greeting at Ladicius.
Vyrshkana waves to Ladicius.
Ladicius says, "Thank you Haelly."
Vyrshkana takes a drink from her oak-aged bourbon.
Vyrshkana looks rather relaxed.
Oliviero takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
Kiel narrows his eyes in concentration, the runes on his arm glimmering briefly. He seems to glow with power!
Tanai asks, "Do you all know him or something?"
Kiel gestures.
Kiel's eyes gleam with a newfound understanding.
Narsisius looks over at Tanai and shakes his head.
You see Haelly the Barmaid.
She appears to be a Human.
She is short. She appears to be in the bloom of youth. She has long-lashed grey-green eyes and alabaster skin. She has waist length, ringleted auburn hair. She has an oval face, a freckled nose and dimpled cheeks.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a small silver heart-shaped locket with a broken clasp, a dark green linen apron with narrow ties over a fitted white cotton blouse with a round collar, a blackworked white linen pouch, an ankle-length pleated black skirt, and a pair of round-toed scuffed black leather shoes.
Haelly smiles and steps behind the bar, tending to a few glasses waiting to be cleaned.
Speaking to Ladicius, Oliviero asks, "We heard about a missing person?"
Faint golden lines trace across Kiel's skin as he appears to focus...
Kiel gestures at a small lead crystal.
As Kiel casts at his lead crystal, it pulses with wispy turquoise light and absorbs his magic.

Kiel gestures at a small lead crystal.
As Kiel casts at his lead crystal, it pulses with wispy turquoise light and absorbs his magic.
A sleek blue-eyed black cat says, "Serious time. I believe this is the part where we start to listen."
Ladicius nods slightly.
Faint golden lines trace across Kiel's skin as he appears to focus...
Kiel gestures at a small lead crystal.
As Kiel casts at his lead crystal, it pulses with wispy turquoise light and resists his magic.
Jaired shrugs at a sleek blue-eyed black cat.
Jaired pulls his ahmdir blue face-wrap aside.
Jaired takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
Tanai mutters, "People will greet anyone these days."
A look of concentration briefly passes across Kiel's face.
Kiel's appearance briefly shimmers.
Ladicius says, "Yes, my sister Thanela."
Oliviero takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
Oliviero looks rather relaxed.
Ladicius furrows his brow.
Kiel takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
Ladicius clears his throat.
Jaired removes a dark brown leather-bound sketchbook from in his black leather hip-satchel.
Jaired tosses some oak-aged bourbon into one of the containers hanging from his modular leather bandolier.
Speaking to Jaired, you comment, "I think the feline is telling you to stop getting sloppy drunk and put away the booze."
Jaired studies Ladicius as he prepares to sketch.
Oliviero takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
Oliviero looks rather relaxed.
Speaking to you, Jaired says, "Oh. Thought he were addressin' the crowd."
Ladicius politely introduces, "My name is Ladicius Saxe. It is my sister Thanela that is missing. We have organized a party to go out and put fliers about the town and talk to the locals."
Oliviero turns an inquisitive ear toward Ladicius.
Ladicius gives a short bow to those gathered.
Tanai skeptically asks, "How long has she been gone?"
Oliviero takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
Oliviero looks rather relaxed.
Ladicius responds, "A few days."
Narsisius stands up.
Narsisius dusts himself off.
Cythis asks, "Maybe she went to find a bar with drinks?"
Ladicius says, "She was away at school for the last several months and we have lost contact with her."
Ladicius frowns at Cythis.
Speaking softly to Ladicius, Narsisius says, "Glad to help however I can."
Narsisius nods once.
You comment, "Just have someone use a spell to locate her."
Jaired asks, "School... what year?"
Speaking gratefully to Narsisius, Ladicius says, "I am appreciative of that."
Speaking to Ladicius, Cythis says, "Apoligies."
Tanai says, "So maybe she isn't missing, she just doesn't want you to contact her."
Speaking to Ladicius, Oliviero asks, "Any frfiends she was with?"
Speaking to Tanai, Ladicius says, "That is impossible."
Ladicius shakes his head.
Jaired cocks his head.
Cords of ethereal azure flame wind in and out of the fabric of your damask dress, licking at the air around you.
Speaking softly to Ladicius, Narsisius asks, "Where was the school she was attending?"
Speaking to Ladicius, Tanai asks, "Sure about that?"
Ladicius says, "Thanela and I are blood bonded, yes I am sure."
A sleek blue-eyed black cat arches his back and emits a low and menacing growl, on alert against some unseen menace lurking in the shadows. He finally relaxes after a moment, the invisible threat apparently having passed.
The misty halo fades from Kiel.
Kiel becomes unbalanced for a second, then recovers.
Kiel appears to lose some internal strength.
Speaking to Ladicius, Tanai says, "Explain."
Ruffling her thick, black and tan fur fondly, Banjar settles his puppy at his feet. Wagging her long black-tipped tail furiously, a thick-furred black and tan puppy with tall pointy ears starts to excitedly snuffle at the floor.
Ladicius glances at Tanai and rubs his chin thoughtfully.
Cinto ponders.
Jaired draws in his leather-bound sketchbook.
Kiel rubs his chin thoughtfully.
Banjar reaches down and scoops a thick-furred black and tan puppy with tall pointy ears from the floor, cradling her in the crook of his arm.
You say, "I'd like a bit more information as to this blood bond you just mentioned too."
With some effort, Banjar manages to settle his wriggling thick-furred puppy into a mithglin cage decorated with sea green glaes scarabs. After some restless shifting, the thick-furred puppy flops down into a heap of thick, black and tan fur at the bottom of the cage.
Cinto asks, "My friend is very good at finding people. I could try to send him out to find her perhaps?"
Oliviero says, "Like a twinsies thing perhaps. They know about each more than one knows."
Ladicius carefully asks, "I assume that none of you are local then?"
Haelly smiles quietly to herself.
Jaired fills in some shading along the cheek in his portrait of Ladicius, accenting the contrast between the flesh tone and the darker background.
Jaired kindly interjects, "Her age will be helpful information, unless I missed it."
The sanguine corona surrounding your black acorn amulet rotates around in a circle.
Tanai says, "I live here, I guess I'm a local."
Tanai shrugs.
Narsisius nods in agreement at Ladicius.
Cinto says, "I mean..I don't live here no, but I spent plenty of time clearing out your tower of the undead."
Kiel says, "I have a home in town."
Jaired agrees with Tanai.
Cinto nods at Ladicius.
Haelly comments, "Oh she's twenty. They both are."
Jaired nods at Haelly.
Speaking to Ladicius, Oliviero says, "I am from around here, but didn't hear about any missing person until recent."
Ladicius nods slightly.
Kiel takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
Working with his face a study in concentration, Jaired carefully corrects a line here, adds a shadow there, drawing swiftly and with practiced strokes.
Ladicius says, "My sister and I are twins, yes."
Oliviero nods.
Tanai says, "So it's a twin bond."
Jaired nods at Ladicius.
Ladicius says, "We are also blood bonded."
Narsisius peers quizzically at Ladicius.
Tanai asks, "And that means what?"
Kiel says, "I am unfamliar with the term."
Jaired asks, "Last known whereabouts?"
Narsisius nods in agreement.
Ladicius says, "The Saxe family tradition."
Working with his face a study in concentration, Jaired carefully corrects a line here, adds a shadow there, drawing swiftly and with practiced strokes.
Ladicius explains, "Each time twins are born, they are bonded together at birth through magic that utilizes our bloodline. It strengthens our line."
Narsisius rubs his chin thoughtfully.
Ladicius adamantly says, "She would not cut off contact."
Jaired cocks his head.
Jaired roughs in some forms behind the central figure in his portrait of Ladicius.
Oliviero nods.
Ladicius adds, "She could not."
Ladicius says, "And yes, we are age 20."
Ladicius says, "Her last known whereabouts was travel home from the Elven cities."
Tanai says, "I guess I can agree with that. I'm bonded as well, and unless the bond is severed, you always know or sense."
Jaired fills in some shading along the cheek in his portrait of Ladicius, accenting the contrast between the flesh tone and the darker background.
Cinto ponders.
You ask, "Unless she's dead of course, that would sever the bond yes?"
Speaking to Ladicius, Oliviero asks, "Is there anything you can sense about her disappearance?"
Cinto says, "That is a dangerous trail."
Tanai nods to you.
Ladicius says, "She was to be home for a few days to visit and she did not arrive."
Ladicius frowns at you.
You stare at Ladicius.
Speaking softly to Ladicius, Narsisius asks, "Does your family have any enemies that might seek to seperate the two of you?"
Speaking to you, Ladicius says, "That is also not possible. But I do not expect you to know this."
Tanai says, "Death will absolutely sever a bond, although I would think he'd know if that had happened."
A sleek blue-eyed black cat says, "That's fascinating. It also opens up the possibility of a ritual using your blood to... seek it's like. Sort of like a compass."
Jaired glances at a sleek blue-eyed black cat.
Haelly pleasantly says, "Oh no, we just love the Saxes here."
Jaired fills in some shading along the cheek in his portrait of Ladicius, accenting the contrast between the flesh tone and the darker background.
Haelly looks over at Narsisius and shakes her head.
Narsisius nods understandingly at Haelly.
Ladicius smiles.
Cinto says, "Before we go too deep off the tracks, has anyone been sent to check the trail? There are mine carts that can have accidents, broken bridges, ropes can snap, large cliffs.."
Several people gathered shift nervously at the mention of loving the Saxe family.
Tanai squints.
Jaired quickly adds a few shadows to one area of the portrait of Ladicius, nodding then in apparent satisfaction.
Ladicius says, "Yes, I have hired several to go search the trail and that includes the tracks."
Speaking to Ladicius, Oliviero asks, "As that elf person asked. Possible enemies of your family?"
You glance down at your empty hands.
You glance around the room.
Ladicius says, "They left this morning."
Tanai asks, "Why do people look nervous all of a sudden?"
Ladicius says, "Perhaps it is all this discussion of her death. We are premature to say this has happened."
Jaired quickly adds a few shadows to one area of the portrait of Ladicius, nodding then in apparent satisfaction.
Where the hem of your damask dress skirts the ground, brilliant ethereal azure sparks erupt in tendrils that skitter outward and die in wisps of smoke.
Tanai doubtfully says, "Uhhuh."
Vyrshkana asks, "Dere beinged anyone who benefit from her not makinged it home?"
Vyrshkana works her fingers under her diamond crown and scratches her head.
Kiel says, "L in my bando."
Kiel mutters under his breath.
Adding a few deeper shadows, Jaired brings life to the figure of Ladicius in the sketch rapidly taking on life beneath the charcoal's point.
Oliviero says, "I'm guessing having enemies is a touchy subject."
Haelly reaches beneath the bar and gathers a bulky envelope which she brings up and hands to Ladicius.
Tanai asks, "Are you some kind of special family?"
Jaired asks, "Strong family resemblance?"
Haelly holds up her hand and tilts it side to side in a so-so gesture.
Adding a few deeper shadows, Jaired brings life to the figure of Ladicius in the sketch rapidly taking on life beneath the charcoal's point.
Haelly says, "A little."
Ladicius nods.
Jaired nods at Haelly.
Ladicius says, "We are not identical."
You say, "Perhaps we are getting a bit off track and should refocus on finding the missing person first."
Speaking to Haelly, Ladicius says, "Thank you."
Haelly nods.
Kiel nods slowly.
Narsisius nods in agreement to you.
You say, "A description and then off to search."
Haelly says, "They are all there, several copies."
Ladicius nods at Haelly.
Oliviero agrees with you.
Jaired adds more shadowing around the figure of Ladicius in the portrait, making the sketch take on more of a life-like appearance.
Tanai asks, "So you're just going to wander around town randomlly searching for someone?"
Ladicius says, "So what we'd like everyone to do this evening is distribute these fliers of Thanela's likeness and ask locals."
You say, "I mean we could stand here and continue asking random questions instead."
Ladicius says, "We will gather again tomorrow to discuss what we've found."
Ladicius says, "The Inspector will arrive to take the accounts that you gather."
Tanai says, "Just seems silly. Might as well go around yelling out her name like she's some kind of lost pet."
Jaired adds more shadowing around the figure of Ladicius in the portrait, making the sketch take on more of a life-like appearance.
Tanai shrugs.
Narsisius nods approvingly at Ladicius.
Speaking to Tanai, Ladicius says, "You do not have to attend. This is not your fight, I understand. Please feel free to leave if you wish."
Tanai says, "I'm too curious about the blood bond."
Tanai grins.
Speaking to Jaired, Oliviero asks, "In case he goes missing?"
Jaired quickly adds a few shadows to one area of the portrait of Ladicius, nodding then in apparent satisfaction.
Ladicius just opened a small parchment envelope.
A sleek blue-eyed black cat asks, "Is there a reward being offered on these fliers?"
Kiel absently spins the inner band of his obsidian ring, teasing out the soft sound of metal sliding over metal.
Ladicius says, "In this envelope are several copies of a rendering of my sister's likeness with information on how to contact the Inspector."
Speaking to Ladicius, you soothe, "I can't speak for the others but as a citizen of Solhaven I'm happy to assist in the search of a fellow citizen."
Speaking to Oliviero, Jaired says, "Just in case. My memory isn't the best."
Jaired quickly adds a few shadows to one area of the portrait of Ladicius, nodding then in apparent satisfaction.
Oliviero nods at Ladicius.
Vyrshkana takes a drink from her oak-aged bourbon.
Speaking to you, Jaired asks, "Pff... sign that ledger this morning?"
You chuckle at Jaired.
Jaired roughs in some forms behind the central figure in his portrait of Ladicius.
Ladicius says, "We'd like to have one put up at the following locations.. the Bank of Vornavis, the Furrier's, the North Market, the pawnshop, the Town Hall, the Library, the bakery, the workyard, the South Market, and the butcher's."
You counter, "I've been a citizen for severals years."
Speaking gratefully to you, Ladicius says, "Thank you."
Narsisius nods understandingly at Ladicius.
Speaking wryly to you, Jaired says, "Yeah yeah..."
Jaired roughs in some forms behind the central figure in his portrait of Ladicius.
Like embers trapped beneath the grating of a brazier, the ethereal azure flames held hostage within the fabric of your damask dress fitfully brighten and dim with a slow but insistent rhythm.
A sleek blue-eyed black cat's ears suddenly perk as his attention is drawn to something in the distance. His pupils narrow to vertical slits as he stares for a long, unnerving moment and then indifferently looks away.
Narsisius softly offers, "I can take the pawnshop and furriers."
Kiel takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
Kiel takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
Kiel looks rather relaxed.
Kiel takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
Jaired picks up a bronze-banded large oak keg, carefully setting a locking pin back in the tap. Looks like the party is over!
Ladicius says, "As you put them up, please ask about my sister. Perhaps someone has something to add of value."
Tanai says, "I want to know if your bond works similar to mine. If it does, I can possibly be of more help."
Jaired put a bronze-banded large oak keg in his munitions case.
You glance at Kiel.
Tanai says, "That's why I'll stick around."
Speaking incredulously to Kiel, you ask, "Really?"
Jaired fills in some shading along the cheek in his portrait of Ladicius, accenting the contrast between the flesh tone and the darker background.
Ladicius says, "Whom shall I hand this to?"
Kiel folds his arms across his chest and with a shrug, grins deviously. He must be up to something!
Kiel winks at you.
Kiel says, "Indeed."
Ladicius removes a white papyrus flier from in his parchment envelope.
Ladicius waves a small parchment envelope around.
Narsisius raises his hand.
Ladicius offers Narsisius a small parchment envelope.
Speaking to Ladicius, Oliviero says, "I will help any way I can."
Narsisius accepts Ladicius's parchment envelope.
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
Narsisius removes a white papyrus flier from in his parchment envelope.
Vyrshkana takes a drink from her oak-aged bourbon.
Ladicius says, "Within you should have more than enough to put at all of those locations."
Kiel joins Vyrshkana's group.
Ladicius says, "Please return what you do not have placed."
Jaired works intently on the hands in his portrait of Ladicius, bringing to mind that you once heard hands are difficult to draw.
Tanai says, "I have a shop here, I can put one up on the wall."
Vyrshkana asks, "I's can takinged de sout market?"
Narsisius softly says, "Anyone else know the town well enough to lead? I can pass the fliers out as we get to each location."
Speaking to Haelly, Ladicius says, "I am going to go meet with the Inspector, thank you for the help Haelly."
Haelly smiles and nods.
Haelly says, "Of course, Mister Saxe."
Working with his face a study in concentration, Jaired carefully corrects a line here, adds a shadow there, drawing swiftly and with practiced strokes.
Ladicius says, "Thank you all as well."
Vyrshkana frowns.
Tanai squints at Ladicius.
Ladicius just went northeast.
You offer, "We may as well go together to ensure the job is done correctly."
Jaired glances northeast.
Haelly sighs softly.
Vyrshkana nods.
You leave Cythis's group.
You join Vyrshkana.
Vyrshkana seems to move as if influenced by a divine power.
Kiel seems to move as if influenced by a divine power.
Narsisius nods in agreement to you.
Tanai says, "Something seems off."
Oliviero agrees with you.
Narsisius joins Vyrshkana's group.
Narsisius seems to move as if influenced by a divine power.
Haelly says, "It's sad really."
Speaking to Haelly, Jaired asks, "He always this abrupt?"
Tanai joins Vyrshkana's group.
Tanai seems to move as if influenced by a divine power.
Speaking to Haelly, Vyrshkana says, "We's go placinged fliers."
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
Jaired joins Vyrshkana's group.

Haelly says, "He's very worried."
Cinto joins Vyrshkana's group.

Cythis joins Vyrshkana's group.
Jaired sniffs.
Banjar joins Vyrshkana's group.
Haelly says, "He's normally very kind and polite."
Jaired nods slowly.
Oliviero joins Vyrshkana's group.
Oliviero seems to move as if influenced by a divine power.
Cythis takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
Cythis looks rather relaxed.
Vyrshkana asks, "Dat ebryone?"
Haelly says, "But this whole thing with Thanela, it's just sad."
Speaking to Haelly, Jaired says, "Been there a couple times. I understand."
Tanai asks, "Anyone else think something's off?"
Speaking to Haelly, Vyrshkana asks, "Yous stayinged here?"
Kiel agrees with Haelly.
Vyrshkana nods.
Vyrshkana nods at Tanai.
Haelly says, "Well yeah, I am kind of working."
Haelly grins.
Haelly says, "Oh the family in general is odd by most folk's standards."
Jaired says, "My wife gets abducted constantly."
Haelly nods at Tanai.
A sleek blue-eyed black cat says, "It is rather exhausting."
Jaired fills in some shading along the cheek in his portrait of Ladicius, accenting the contrast between the flesh tone and the darker background.
Haelly blinks at Jaired.
Speaking to Tanai, Kiel says, "Everyone always thinks somethings off with you."
Kiel winks at Tanai.
Vyrshkana nods.
Vyrshkana says, "Okays."
Speaking to Narsisius, you comment, "It is good that you volunteered to take that packet. Had Mr Delone taken it I fear this endeavor would be cursed. The people he seeks tend to wind up dead."
Haelly says, "They move about every 35 years or so."
Speaking to Kiel, Tanai says, "Well yeah, this is true."
Tanai grins crookedly.
Haelly says, "It's an odd thing."
Speaking to Jaired, Cinto asks, "That pirate life?"
Cinto grins at Jaired.
Narsisius smiles.
Kiel looks thoughtfully at Haelly.
Vyrshkana says, "We's go post dose fliers."
Tanai says, "Yeah nothing suspicious about that at all."
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
Jaired begins chortling at Cinto.
Vyrshkana waves to Haelly.
Speaking to Cinto, Jaired says, "Something like that."
Kiel asks, "Every 35 years?"
Oliviero nods at Vyrshkana.
Vyrshkana says, "Mebbe we's findinged someting."
Jaired roughs in some forms behind the central figure in his portrait of Ladicius.
Speaking softly to you, Narsisius says, "While I am not sure who that is, I am glad to be of assistance."
Vyrshkana just moved quietly northeast, with her group following closely.
[Solhaven Inn, Main Hall - 5713] (u4740019)
Royal blue wall hangings and marble sheathed walls lend an air of elegance to the main hall of the Inn. Black, white, and rose marble is placed in an elaborate pattern covering the floor. Several vultite inlaid modwir tables are ranged around the edge of the room, each with a pair of heavy carved modwir chairs in attendance. The centerpiece of the room is an immense crystal and candle chandelier, which sends sparks of soft light throughout the room. You also see an ornate marble arch and a wide marble staircase.

The elegant limestone facade of the Solhaven Inn and Restaurant dominates the street here. Deep blue awnings hang above the glaes-paned windows and front walk. A white-gloved doorman stands at the ready, ushering guests through the arched doors.

Narsisius nods understandingly.
Speaking to Tanai, Vyrshkana says, "We's not stoppinged at de sweet shop."
Vyrshkana just moved quietly west, with her group following closely.
[Solhaven, Abalone Street - 1454] (u4209032)
Throngs of people travel westward towards the Market Square and the shouts of peddlers hawking their wares reach your ears. The unmistakable scent of chocolate wafts from the doorway of a small, whitewashed shop on the north side of the street. To the east you can see the hulking facade of the Solhaven Inn.

A brown awning stretches across the front of the large stone building here. Hanging above the entrance is a metal breastplate, rusted from exposure to the salty sea air. Two giantmen, deeply engrossed in conversation, lean casually against the building. You also see a street urchin and an old barrel.

Adding a few deeper shadows, Jaired brings life to the figure of Ladicius in the sketch rapidly taking on life beneath the charcoal's point.
Vyrshkana just slipped quietly through the entrance, with her group following closely.
[Solhaven Arms - 12815] (u4740014)
Polished wooden cases line the room, containing a wide assortment of weapons. Echoing through the shop is the sound of a hammer striking metal. A stocky Dwarf stands nearby, smiling to herself. You also see the weaponsmith Marsaena, a wooden sign, a wooden counter with some stuff on it and a narrow stairway.

Narsisius ponders.

The clerk waves over the group, brightly asking, "Hello! How may I help?"
Narsisius softly says, "We have a flier."
Vyrshkana says, "We's habinged flier for postinged."
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
Narsisius softly exclaims, "Someone is missing!"
Vyrshkana points at Narsisius.
Narsisius waves a white papyrus flier around.
Oliviero asks, "Have you seen this woman?"

(Narsisius shows the flier to the clerk.)
The clerk's brow furrows, her eyes gaining a worried expression as she says softly, "Oh. Yes, Thanela Saxe. She's very kind."
A maddened luck spirit arrives in the area, following you.
A maddened luck spirit fades into ethereal form and wafts away.
You give your eyebrow a little workout.
Oliviero asks, "Can you tell us when you saw her last?"
Jaired rubs the charcoal across the page, making a scratchy sound as he works on a portrait of Ladicius.
Tanai mutters, "They always say that about missing or dead people."
Narsisius softly says, "She seems to have gone missing on her way between school and the city."
The clerk continues, "I can put that up for you if you want." as she reaches for the flier.
Narsisius nods once.
You whisper, "If the sister is kind, what of the brother..." to your group.
Narsisius nods appreciatively.
Narsisius softly says, "Thank you."
Narsisius removes a white papyrus flier from in his parchment envelope.
The clerk attaches the flier on the nearest wall next to the teller windows.

Narsisius softly asks, "Have you seen Thanela around in the last few weeks?"
(Narsisius peers quizzically at the clerk.)
Vyrshkana ponders.
Oliviero nods at Narsisius.
The clerk shakes her head and says, "No, she's been away at school for a while. I heard she was supposed to be home for a few days but never arrived."
Jaired gets a distant look in his eyes.
Tanai asks, "Why is she kind?"
Jaired gets a distant look in his eyes.
Narsisius nods in agreement.
Jaired rubs the charcoal across the page, making a scratchy sound as he works on a portrait of Ladicius.
Narsisius softly says, "Thats about all we know as well. Well time to get these up elsewhere, I hope you have a good day."
(Narsisius waves goodbye to the clerk.)
Oliviero says, "If you hear anything, please contact the Inspector."
The clerk looks surprised at the question, and says, "That's an.. odd question. She's just a kind person. She's always pleasant, offers to help, and seems a genuinely happy girl."
Jaired fills in some shading along the cheek in his portrait of Ladicius, accenting the contrast between the flesh tone and the darker background.
Tanai says, "Not odd at all."
Tanai shrugs.
The clerk nods at Oliviero and says, "I will, thank you. Have a good evening."
Speaking to Tanai, you condescend, "Most people are as the man says. You're just... not."
Jaired adds more shadowing around the figure of Ladicius in the portrait, making the sketch take on more of a life-like appearance.
A visage of cruel satisfaction and a faint smile upon your lips are the only clues to your inner thoughts.
Tanai rolls her eyes.
Speaking to you, Tanai says, "Neither are you."
You gasp.
Oliviero says, "We should keep moving."
Vyrshkana says, "Okays."
Vyrshkana nods.

The press of the crowd is little diminished by the late hour. Peddlers wheel small carts, pushing their way through and splitting the air with their shouts. Delectable scents of baked goods grace the air, drifting from the wrought iron oven of the Muffinsmith's stall at the corner of the market. Before it, a blond thanot bench embellished with bas-relief pelican feathers glistens in the starlight thanks to a coat of varnish. On the opposite end of the market, the Belts booth and the Small Blades stand laze beneath the night sky, still open for customers. You also see a copper-banded green oak barrel.

You innocently ask, "Surely you jest?"
You turn your head towards a glossy black fish eye and flutter your eyelashes.
Narsisius whispers to the group, "Does anyone want to hand the next flier off?"
Tanai snorts!
Vyrshkana takes a drink from her oak-aged bourbon.
Vyrshkana looks rather relaxed.
Jaired looks over at Narsisius and shakes his head.
Jaired works intently on the hands in his portrait of Ladicius, bringing to mind that you once heard hands are difficult to draw.
Vyrshkana whispers to the group, "I's take?"
Kiel takes off a scaled black obsidian vest patterned with tribal designs.
Narsisius offers Vyrshkana a white papyrus flier.
Vyrshkana accepts Narsisius's papyrus flier.
Jaired removes a drawing from his leather-bound sketchbook.
A faint silvery glow fades from around Kiel.
Kiel offers Vyrshkana a scaled black obsidian vest patterned with tribal designs.
Vyrshkana put some oak-aged bourbon in her spidersilk haversack.
Vyrshkana accepts Kiel's black obsidian vest.
Jaired nods to a Ladicius portrait.
Vyrshkana put a scaled black obsidian vest patterned with tribal designs in her spidersilk haversack.
Jaired tosses a Ladicius portrait into one of the containers hanging from his modular leather bandolier.
One of the local merchants notices the group and waves at Vyrshkana to come closer. "Whatcha doin?" she asks.
Vyrshkana says, "We's lookinged for missinged lady an postinged fliers."
Kiel's eyes glaze over and he turns pale. In the space between moments, his body grows more and more translucent until you realize he is no longer there!
Like embers trapped beneath the grating of a brazier, the ethereal azure flames held hostage within the fabric of your damask dress fitfully brighten and dim with a slow but insistent rhythm.
Vyrshkana asks, "Yous seeinged Tanela Saxton about lately?"
(Vyrshkana holds up her flier so the merchant can get a good look.)
Get what?
You remove a translucent peridot skeleton from in a chipped mahogany toolbox.
You stare at your peridot skeleton.
The merchant scratches her head a moment and pauses, looking over the flier as she takes it from Vyrshkana.
Vyrshkana nods.
Jaired idly corrects, "Saxe."
Vyrshkana says, "I's not knowinged where beinged goodly place postinged it here, but her broder wantinged one ob de fliers here for de citizens lookinged at."
Vyrshkana blushes a nice shade of dark red.
Vyrshkana says, "I's sorry."
Vyrshkana nods emphatically at Jaired!
Jaired winks at Vyrshkana.
Jaired says, "Nah worry."
A drunken sailor staggers in, probably looking for a drink.
Vyrshkana says, "Dis why we's not splittinged up."
Vyrshkana folds her arms over her chest.
Oliviero glances at a drunken sailor.
The merchant says, "Hmm.. any of you know anything about that Saxe girl?" as she calls over to a few merchants gathered about the market. They all shake their heads and go back to their business.
A drunken sailor blinks fuzzily at you, attempting to make his eyes focus properly.
Narsisius nods understandingly.
Vyrshkana asks, "Is can postinged de flier so peoples can seeinged it?"
Narsisius squints at a drunken sailor.
Oliviero asks, "Can you post that up in case someone does come forward?"
You remark, "This merchant is a testament to her profession if she understood half of what the gnome said."
A drunken sailor blinks once then falls over onto his rear end.
The merchant shrugs and says, "Sure I can do that. Hope you find her." as she attaches the flier to the front of her stall.
You say, "Gods know I do not half the time."
Narsisius removes a white papyrus flier from in his parchment envelope.
Oliviero says, "Thank you kindly."
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
The drunken sailor lurches to his feet.
A drunken sailor stumbles into one of the townspeople. "Martha, ish that you?" he slurs. "I promish, I were comin' right back...." The woman spends a moment convincing him that she is not Martha, despite his emphatic protestations to the contrary.
Vyrshkana just moved quietly southwest, with her group following closely.

Vyrshkana nods.
Vyrshkana beams!
You put a translucent peridot skeleton in your travel pack.
You are not holding anything in your left hand.
You have nothing placed alongside you.
Narsisius waves to Ragnoz.
Speaking to the furrier Ragnoz, Vyrshkana exclaims, "Hellowings!"
Vyrshkana ponders.
The furrier Ragnoz says, "Hello."
Light pewter light glints off Cinto's x'aganjira robe for the briefest of moments.
Oliviero nods.
The furrier Ragnoz asks, "What can I help you with today?"
Speaking to you, Vyrshkana asks, "Yous wantinged doinged de talkinged den?"
You smile at Vyrshkana.
Oliviero glances at Narsisius.
Narsisius smiles at Ragnoz.
Tanai asks, "How is it that a bank teller knows this person, but these merchants basically don't know anything?"
Narsisius softly says, "We is searching for a missing girl."
You say, "And deprive of us our entert-your leadership. Never."
The furrier Ragnoz works on a slab of dark red meat, cutting away some fat.
The furrier Ragnoz nods at Narsisius.
Please rephrase that command.
Please rephrase that command.
Speaking to the furrier Ragnoz, Cythis asks, "Have you bought any....odd skins recently?"
(Daenamaryllis soothes Vyrshkana.)
The furrier Ragnoz asks, "The girl have a name?"
Narsisius softly says, "And wondering if you could post a flier up for us, and maybe answer a question or two."
Narsisius blushes a nice shade of light pink.
Speaking to Tanai, Cinto says, "If their family is wealthy, there is a chance she don't do much actual shopping, but could be in and around the bank."
Cinto shrugs at Tanai.
Speaking to Cythis, the furrier Ragnoz says, "Gotta be a lil more specific than that."
The furrier Ragnoz chuckles.
Narsisius softly says, "The Lady Saxe."
Vyrshkana rolls her eyes.
Speaking to Cinto, Tanai asks, "Why would she use a bank if she doesn't shop?"
Jaired nods at Cinto.
You sigh.
Cythis ponders.
The furrier Ragnoz says, "There's a few of those."
You say, "Clearly lots of other people use these businesses that may have seen the girl."
Tanai says, "Snooty people don't handle their own money."
Vyrshkana asks, "Tanela?"
Like embers trapped beneath the grating of a brazier, the ethereal azure flames held hostage within the fabric of your damask dress fitfully brighten and dim with a slow but insistent rhythm.
Jaired says, "Thanela."
The furrier Ragnoz nods.
Jaired says, "The twin."
The furrier Ragnoz says, "I'm familiar with Thanela."
Narsisius nods in agreement at Jaired.
Tanai says, "Let me guess. She is kind."
Speaking to the furrier Ragnoz, Oliviero asks, "Have you seen her recently?"
Narsisius softly says, "Seems she has gone missing on her way back from school."
The furrier Ragnoz says, "I don't know her that well, she's usually here with her brother, Ladicius."
The furrier Ragnoz says, "Or their father."
Jaired cocks his head.
Jaired asks, "What's his name, if you could?"
The furrier Ragnoz cuts off a long section of meat, then begins slicing it into small sections.
You comment, "I find it passing strange that they visit the furrier. The brother did not seem much of a hunter to me."
Speaking to the furrier Ragnoz, Oliviero asks, "Have they been around last couple days?"
The furrier Ragnoz stops for a moment, tapping the tip of his knife against the counter.
The powerful look leaves Oliviero.
Speaking to you, Jaired says, "Could be they're buying rather than selling."
Oliviero nods at Narsisius.
Narsisius offers Oliviero a small parchment envelope.
Oliviero accepts Narsisius's parchment envelope.
Oliviero removes a white papyrus flier from in his parchment envelope.
The furrier Ragnoz says, "Believe his name was Laslerd Saxe, the father that is."
Tanai says, "Weird name."
Oliviero nods.
The furrier Ragnoz shrugs.
The furrier Ragnoz says, "Awefully rude to say, but okay."
Narsisius whispers to the group, "My appoligies, I forgot I had something to do this evening. I must regretably take my leave. For those I have not met, I am Narsisius and look forward to seeing you all again."
Narsisius offers Oliviero a white papyrus flier.
Speaking to the furrier Ragnoz, Oliviero asks, "Could you be so kind as to post this in your shop in case someone knows her whereabouts?"
Tanai shrugs at the furrier Ragnoz.
Oliviero put a white papyrus flier in his parchment envelope.
Oliviero accepts Narsisius's papyrus flier.
The furrier Ragnoz says, "Sure, I can do that."
Narsisius nods appreciatively at Oliviero.
Narsisius bows.
Narsisius just went out.
The furrier Ragnoz says, "The father's moved awaya a while ago."
Oliviero waves a white papyrus flier around.
The furrier Ragnoz says, "Not sure where."
Ragnoz takes the flier from Oliviero and nods, attaching it to a nearby wall.
Oliviero says, "We appreciate all the help."
Where the hem of your damask dress skirts the ground, brilliant ethereal azure sparks erupt in tendrils that skitter outward and die in wisps of smoke.
Ragnoz nods and murmurs, 'It's an odd family but I hope they are all okay and she's found.'.
Speaking to the furrier Ragnoz, Cythis asks, "Why odd?"
Oliviero says, "We do too."
The furrier Ragnoz says, "Well, they move often."
Your black acorn amulet continues to glow sanguine.
Tanai asks, "Every thirty five years?"
Ragnoz continues, 'Never quite understood why they leave them kids alone, is all. Twenty is not such an old age, not much wisdom gained at that time.'.
Jaired cocks his head.
Jaired asks, "They hit twenty and they're left on their own?"
Cinto ponders.
The furrier Ragnoz nods at Jaired.
Ragnoz says, "Yep. Isn't that odd?"
Jaired nods.
Tanai says, "Not really."
Speaking to Jaired, Oliviero says, "Maybe you should get a sketch of the father."
Jaired says, "Not if they're traveling various cities and establishing a progeny."
Jaired shrugs.
You roll your eyes.
You say, "They're not vampires."
Ragnoz shakes his head, saying, "Not gonna be likely. They've already moved on - the twins turned twenty just a few weeks ago. The rest of them have moved on."
Cinto asks, "Granted I'm not too experienced with raising human children, but twenty years of age don't seem all that young, in a humans lifetime?"
Cinto ponders.
Jaired asks, "Would you say it is unusual the twins remained?"
Speaking to you, Tanai asks, "Did you check their teeth, then?"
The furrier Ragnoz looks over at Jaired and shakes his head.
The furrier Ragnoz says, "That's what they usually do."
Speaking to Cinto, Tanai says, "It isn't all that young. Not really."
Jaired nods.
You say, "Twenty is considered an adult by most human standards."
Jaired asks, "Is it always twins?"
The furrier Ragnoz nods at Jaired.
Jaired nods.
You say, "Younger than that frankly."
You grate, "I was to be married off at sixteen."
Vyrshkana ponders.
You mutter something inaudible.
Oliviero says, "That's a young age."
The furrier Ragnoz says, "The twins run the estate and start their own families."
Tanai says, "I bet your intended thanked his lucky stars you weren't."
Cinto furrows his brow.
As you scrutinize Tanai, you are reminded of just how much you hate her.
Cinto asks, "And the parents just..leave?"
The furrier Ragnoz nods at Cinto.
Oliviero says, "I wonder if the lass was planning on starting her own family."
Vyrshkana frowns.
Tanai asks, "So when Luciod or whatever turns thirty five, he'll leave his own family?"
Jaired asks, "Making a break in the... tradition?"
Cythis says, "Maybe followed Dad."
A cacophony of whispers rise around you, a faint sizzling, moments before ethereal azure flames erupt from your damask dress, sheathing you in flame from head to toe. The stirring air tugs gently at your hair before slowly dying, along with the flames.
The furrier Ragnoz says, "When a new set of twins are born."
Vyrshkana works her fingers under her diamond crown and scratches her head.
Tanai says, "Kind of obsessed with the twin thing."
The furrier Ragnoz says, "Whether Ladicius has them or Thanela I suppose."
Oliviero says, "I wonder if she was pregnant."
Jaired wryly says, "Oooh, scandal."
Tanai snickers.
The furrier Ragnoz frowns.
You offer, "The furrier?"
Oliviero says, "Not was, but is."
The furrier Ragnoz asks, "What about the furrier?"
Speaking to the furrier Ragnoz, you ask, "You do seem to be fairly familiar with the two of them. Perhaps you became a little too close with the sister?"
Looking bored, Jaired drones out a few words in a monotone.
Jaired gestures.
You ask, "Is she comely?"
Ragnoz gives Daenamaryllis an irritated look and says, "Anyhow, need to get back to my work. I'll make sure to have folks take a look at that flier. You folks have a good night."
Vyrshkana stares at you.
The furrier Ragnoz glares at you.
Tanai says, "And you said I was rude."
Speaking to the furrier Ragnoz, Oliviero says, "Thank you very much."
Tanai smirks.
Speaking to the furrier Ragnoz, Vyrshkana says, "Tank oos for yous help."
You say, "He seems suspicious."
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
Speaking to the furrier Ragnoz, Jaired says, "It's wise to ignore that one, I find... most of us try. You've been extremely helpful. Thank you."
You stare at the furrier Ragnoz.
Speaking to Vyrshkana, Oliviero says, "Onward."
The furrier Ragnoz nods at Jaired.

A middle-aged man wearing a bushy salt-and-pepper beard and a sour expression stands behind a modwir counter that bears the rounded edges and marring of a thousand transactions. The cracked and yellowed plaster walls, dilapidated counter and the appearance of the proprietor suggest a distinctly Dwarven influence, if not lineage. You say, "Whispered secrets lieing alone at night with the sister."
Vyrshkana glares at you.
You say, "Maybe the brother was there too."
Walsor leans on the counter, scratching at his bushy beard.
Speaking to you, Jaired says, "Gross."
Speaking to the pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm, Oliviero says, "Hello good sir."
Oliviero removes a white papyrus flier from in his parchment envelope.
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm nods.
You pause in introspection, your gaze growing distant with your ponderings.
Speaking to the pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm, Oliviero says, "We are here to see if you have seen this lass and if you could post this in your shop. She has gone missing."
Oliviero waves a white papyrus flier around.
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
Vyrshkana says, "Her supposinged cominged home from school."
Vyrshkana says, "But her neber gettinged here."
Vyrshkana frowns.
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm takes the flier and gives it a good look, nodding slowly.
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "Oh, the Saxe girl. Hmm."
Jaired nods.
Oliviero nods.
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm asks, "You know I've never met her personally, but I heard that she went missing. Locals been talking about it. You folks part of that search party?"
Jaired says, "Mm-hm."
Cinto nods.
Tanai says, "Apparently."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm frowns at Tanai.
Oliviero says, "We are."
Tanai asks, "What?"
You offer, "Tone dear."
You say, "Tone."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm asks, "You're a bit rude, eh?"
You nod in agreement.
Tanai rolls her eyes.
Speaking to the pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm, Oliviero says, "Her brother seeked out our help."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm nods.
A subtle stirring of the air about you tugs at the ethereal azure flames enveloping you, teasing thin threads of fire from the damask dress.
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "Well I'll put it up for you. I wish you luck with the search, sad thing."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm attaches the flier to the nearest wall.
Vyrshkana says, "Is beinged appreciated."
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm nods.
Oliviero says, "Thank you. Please contact the Inspector if you hear anything,"
Tanai says, "Yeah, you're a peach."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "It tracks you know, this oddness."
Vyrshkana blinks.
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "About every so many years, the whole family ups and leaves. Damndest thing."
Oliviero asks, "Oddness?"
Tanai says, "We already know this."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm frowns at Tanai.
Cythis asks, "WHere do they go?"
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "Well then don't let me disrupt your search. Have a good evening."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm shrugs.
You mutter, "There's that rudeness again."
You giggle at Tanai.
Jaired ponders.
Tanai says, "I'm not being rude, I'm just saying we know it already."
Tanai shrugs.
Speaking to Tanai, Oliviero says, "Maybe you ahould waity outside of shops we visit."
Jaired apologetically interjects, "If you could clear something up for me... when you say they leave. Do they leave, and then return? Or do they move from city to city?"
You soothe, "You're a busy man and we hate to take you away from your business. Perhaps I could make a purchase to as not have wasted your time."
Tanai gestures in a coarse and crudely vile manner.
Daenamaryllis smiles gryhm
You remove a ravaged lunatic hand from in your sundry carryall.
You don't see any exits leading away from the area.
There is no merchant here to order anything from.
Thin, black lines of energy creep along the ground before you, heading west.
[The North 'Haven Pawnery - 5712] (u4740076)
Boxes, crates, sea chests, and bulging canvas sacks are piled throughout the pawnshop in great, teetering stacks, leaving only narrow avenues between the tables of wares. Four small oil lanterns fixed on stout beams over the tables provide illumination. You also see a miscellaneous table with some stuff on it, an armor table with some stuff on it, a weapon table with some stuff on it and an arcana table with some stuff on it.

You decide to purchase the black crystal, and pay the sales clerk 383 silvers.
The sales clerk picks up the black crystal and checks to make sure it is in good condition. She says, "It seems a little used, but still in great shape."
She hands the black crystal to you.
Thin, black lines of energy creep along the ground before you, heading east.
[The North 'Haven Pawnery - 5711] (u4740075)
A middle-aged man wearing a bushy salt-and-pepper beard and a sour expression stands behind a modwir counter that bears the rounded edges and marring of a thousand transactions. The cracked and yellowed plaster walls, dilapidated counter and the appearance of the proprietor suggest a distinctly Dwarven influence, if not lineage. You also see the hammered bronze Vyrshkana disk, a quirky lake spirit that is flying around, a wide-lipped copper urn banded by rings of indigo lacquer and the pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm.

You put a ravaged lunatic hand in your sundry carryall.
Vyrshkana frowns.
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "They just.. leave."
You swap your black crystal from your left to your right hand.
(Daenamaryllis shows her newly purchased black crystal to Walsor Gryhm.)
Jaired says, "It's also been suggested that a pair of twins remain."
Vyrshkana ponders.
Cinto ponders.
You put a black crystal in your sundry carryall.
You join Vyrshkana.
Cinto asks, "If you don't mind, could you clarify something for me?"
Speaking to the pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm, Oliviero asks, "Do they leave anything behind of the sort? Something to come back to?"
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "Yeah, them twins stick around and raise their own families."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm nods at Jaired.
Tanai says, "Again...."
Tanai examines her fingernails.
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm asks, "You mean outside of their twins?"
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm chuckles at Oliviero.
Jaired says, "And then 35 years go by they leave... and two sets of twins remain."
Cinto asks, "Am I understanding correctly that each generation has a set of twins, and once they come of age, the parents leave and the twins take over the estate, and that repeats with each generation?"
Jaired says, "Fascinating."
Jaired adopts an agreeable expression.
You ask, "Twins are always born?"
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm nods at Jaired.
You ask, "Always twins?"
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "Yep."
Vyrshkana says, "Not beinged identical twins eider."
Vyrshkana frowns.
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm nods at Cinto.
Vyrshkana says, "Just needinged...twins."
Tanai says, "Sounds like it's just a repeat of the same people."
Jaired asks, "There are other siblings, though, yeah? Is it just one set of twins?"
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "That about sums it up, yes sir."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm nods at Cinto.
Cinto ponders.
Cinto says, "Interesting."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "Oh no, there can be other kids."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm nods at Jaired.
Jaired nods.
You ask, "So there are other siblings or not?"
Thin fingers of ethereal azure flame rise from the fabric of your damask dress, licking hungrily at the air.
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "I said yes."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm chuckles.
Jaired chuckles.
Jaired agrees with the pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm.
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm asks, "Are you guys with the Inspector or something?"
Jaired seems a bit less imposing.
Cinto says, "We are trying to assist with the search."
Cinto nods.
Speaking to the pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm, Oliviero says, "We are here on behalf of her brother."
Jaired nods at Cinto.
Cinto says, "Just trying to gather some information, as not all of use know of the family."
Jaired nods at Oliviero.
Cinto says, "All of us, rather."
Tanai says, "Who is definitely hiding pretty much everything."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "All I know is what is locally known to be honest. Don't really see any Saxes in the pawnshop."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm chuckles.
Oliviero nods.
You ask, "Is the family observed leaving town? Everyone watches them leave and ride off happily or do the twins just tell everyone the rest of the family is gone?"
Oliviero says, "We do appreciate you putting the flier up."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "Oh they have a going away gathering from what I've been told."
Cythis ponders.
Cythis asks, "Where do they gather?"
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "It's not a secret or anything. They are a part of the community."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm asks, "At their home, where do most folks gather?"
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm chuckles.
You ask, "Have you or anyone you know been invited?"
Cythis says, "Well if the bar served drinks, I would say there."
Cythis grunts.
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "Yeah I've known some folks who went, but I don't get why this is a big deal."
Cythis shrugs.
Tanai says, "Bet the furrier went."
Cinto says, "We're trying to determin of there is anyone who might be a cause for foul play."
Cinto nods.
Jaired nods slowly at Tanai.
Cinto says, "Just information gathering."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm asks, "Ragnoz?"
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm chuckles.
Oliviero says, "Her brother is just worried about her."
Tanai says, "Sure, whatever his name is."
Jaired says, "Ladicius."
You ask, "Ragnoz wouldn't be invited?"
Tanai says, "Her brother probably has some weird thing hanging in the balance if she's missing."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "He does have some dealings with the Saxe's from time to time I guess. They like to buy from him at times, so he may have gotten one."
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm shrugs.
Jaired nods to Walsor Gryhm.
You smile.
That is not a valid verb.
Vyrshkana nods.
That is not a valid verb.
Vyrshkana ponders.
The pawnbroker Walsor Gryhm says, "I should be getting back to my work. You folks have a good evening."
Vyrshkana nods.
That is not a valid verb.
Vyrshkana nods to Walsor Gryhm.
Oliviero says, "You as well."
A subdued light pewter glow pulses at the heart of Cinto's x'aganjira robe.
You say, "We appreciate all your time this evening."
Vyrshkana exclaims, "Tank oos for de helpings!"
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
Vyrshkana just moved quietly out, with her group following closely.
[Solhaven, Nerite Lane - 1475] (u4209048)

Tanai rolls her eyes.
Vyrshkana stares at you.
The clerk looks puzzled and says, "You can inquire upstairs about posting fliers. I don't handle that."
Tanai says, "I don't embezzel anything."
Vyrshkana nods.

Speaking to a shabby sailor, Vyrshkana asks, "We's lookinged for missinged lady an postinged fliers, if yous can helpinged?"

Vyrshkana folds her arms over her chest.
The sailor shrugs and points towards a cleark nearby.
The sailor is a shabby-looking sailor with several days worth of stubble on his chin.

The sailor rubs his blood-shot eyes and mutters under his breath.
(Vyrshkana goes over to the counter and stands on her tiptoes.)
Vyrshkana exclaims, "We's lookinged for missing lady!"
You make a horrendous warthog-like noise.
Oliviero says, "We are looking for a missing lass. Been gone for a few days. Hoping to see if you know anything or can help by putting up this flier."
What were you referring to?
Oliviero waves a white papyrus flier around.
You giggle at Vyrshkana.
Vyrshkana says, "An we's habinged flier if yous can helpinged postinged it so oder people can seeinged an lookinged too."
Vyrshkana says, "Yous seeinged Tanela Saxe about lately? We's lookinged for her."
The clerk gives Vyrshkana a startled look and then slowly nods at Oliviero with a grateful smile. He says in a quiet whisper to Oliviero, "Thank you so much. I was afraid I'd have to ask her to repeat herself.", then clears his throat and more audibly says, "Oh yes, I can take that for you and have it posted." to Vyrshkana.
Vyrshkana beams!
Tanai snickers.
The sailor takes a silver flask from his pocket and shakes it before frowning at it and stuffing the flask back in his pocket.
A subtle stirring of the air about you tugs at the ethereal azure flames enveloping you, teasing thin threads of fire from the damask dress.
You elbow Jaired in the ribs in a playful sort of way.
The clerk reaches out and takes the flier from Oliviero and attaches it to a nearby wall.
(Oliviero smirks at the clerk.)
You say, "Should give the sailor a bit of Karl, he seems to be out of sorts."
A small bead of sweat drips from the forehead of the shabby sailor.
Jaired adopts an agreeable expression.
Jaired reaches inside one of the containers hanging from his modular leather bandolier and grabs some oak-aged bourbon.
Oliviero says, "Thank you."
The sailor moves out of Jaired's way and glances at him.
Jaired carefully places some oak-aged bourbon on the floor.
Speaking to a shabby sailor, Jaired says, "For you."
Speaking to a shabby sailor, you say, "Its just some Karl."
Vyrshkana snickers.
You drop 1,000 silvers.
The sailor nods slightly and snatches up the bourbon, drinking it quickly.
Oliviero says, "I think he needs that coffee more."
Looking bored, Jaired drones out a few words in a monotone.
Jaired gestures.
You comment, "Like a dog left outside for three days with no water that one."
You giggle.
Tanai rolls her eyes.
The clerk politely says, "Is there anything else I can assist with?"
Jaired says, "Probably just enjoying some shore leave."
(Oliviero asks the clerk, "Have you seen the lass in the past few days?")
Vyrshkana asks, "Is can tellinged anyting about de Saxe family mebbe?"
Tanai mutters, "That we don't already know twice over."
The sailor leans back and tries to stifle a yawn with a closed fist.
You say, "Perhaps the clerk could provide us with a registry of the family's citizenship and how many years back it goes."
Tanai says, "Have fun reading that by yourself."
The clerk looks affronted and shakes his head, saying "It would be untoward of me to discuss a family like that. However, no I have not seen her. I would suggest going to her family."
You say, "I'm curious as to how many decades this cycle has repeated itself."
Vyrshkana nods.
You say, "Perhaps even centuries."
Oliviero says, "Her brother is requesting our help to find her."
Vyrshkana says, "Okays. Tank oos for yous helpinged."
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
Jaired cocks his head.
Jaired says, "...you know."
Vyrshkana peers quizzically at Jaired.
Oliviero glances at Jaired.
Jaired asks, "I wonder from which side of the family the twins are born from?"
You insinuate, "It would be untoward to discuss a family like that without a bit of jingle."
You remove a ravaged lunatic hand from in your sundry carryall.
Vyrshkana gazes heavenward.
You ask, "How much jingle will make it untoward?"
Jaired asks, "If a set is always born... is there a pattern that the brother's offspring are the twins or the sister's?"
Tanai says, "Ask Ludophico next time you see him."
The sailor pats his coat down and his eyes light up when he finds and produces a silver flask from a pocket.
You offer, "Every clerk deserves a fine dinner."
You smile.
Tanai asks, "Luchionio?"
Tanai shrugs.
The clerk gives Daenamaryllis a scandalous glance and shakes his head firmly. "No ma'am. That's not how I work. I believe it's time for you all to go now."
Tanai says, "The brother."
Vyrshkana says, "I's tink we's goinged to de next flier postinged spot."
Vyrshkana nods.

[Library, Foyer - 5395] (u4747041)
Soft candlelight spills from glass globes that are suspended from exposed oak beams of the white-washed ceiling by large iron rings. Shadows line the walls where the light does not reach leaving a single reading bench with little illumination. A withered old woman bends down on her hands and knees as she attempts to scrub the day's dirt from a blue cotton rug that covers the limestone floor. Her soft sighing is the only sound that disturbs the nighttime quiet of the library's entryway.

[Library, Front Desk - 9057] (u4747042)
A small crystal chandelier with candle-filled globes hangs from the ceiling, its illumination softly spreading across the exposed oak paneling of the room. A long lacquered oak counter sits to the north, its surface cleaned off and ready for tomorrow's rush of daily book returns. The area is silent as most of the patrons have left for the night. You also see a blue-robed human librarian.

Vyrshkana beams!
Jaired says, "I'm just saying... if it's the sister that has to birth the twins for the next generation to remain behind, her going missing is a much bigger deal."
Oliviero removes a white papyrus flier from in his parchment envelope.
You rant, "Can't help the the poor and stupid!"
Vyrshkana stares at you.
Tanai says, "Maybe she doesn't want to be a brood mare for her weird family."
Jaired nods.
A blue-robed human librarian nods and waves in greeting. "Hello, welcome to the Library." and then pauses in shock as she stares at Daenamaryllis reprovingly with a stern "Shhhh."
Speaking to Tanai, Jaired says, "Exactly."
You stare at a blue-robed human librarian.
Tanai smirks at you!
You incredulously ask, "Did she just shush me?"
Tanai nods to you.
A blue-robed human librarian stares back at Daenamaryllis. "I did, now hush young lady. You're in the Library."
You gawk at a blue-robed human librarian.
You feel the corner of your right grey eye begin to twitch with your annoyance. The infuriating tic only serves to exacerbate your annoyance.
Speaking quietly to you, Jaired says, "It's her job to hush."
Speaking quietly to a blue-robed human librarian, Oliviero says, "We are here seeing if you could help us by posting this missing person flier. This lass has gone missing and her brother is worried."
You remove a drake dagger from in your sundry carryall.
That would not be appropriate.
Oliviero waves a white papyrus flier around.
A blue-robed human librarian takes the flier from Oliviero and nods once, giving it a look.
Speaking to you, Tanai asks, "Going to have a tantrum and carve up the librarian?"
Speaking quietly to a blue-robed human librarian, Jaired says, "I'm also curious if there are any records of the Saxe family tree."
You threaten, "Maybe."
A blue-robed human librarian slowly says, "Yes, I can put this up for you. How awful."
Oliviero says, "Take it outside."
Oliviero glances between Tanai and yourself.
You say, "But the fines are giving me pause."
Speaking to Jaired, a blue-robed human librarian says, "The family has been here for several generations, so yes."
Speaking to Oliviero, Tanai asks, "Take what outside?"
You whine, "And jail does terrible things to my hair."
You sigh.
You put a drake dagger in your sundry carryall.
A blue-robed human librarian smirks at you.
Speaking quietly to a blue-robed human librarian, Jaired says, "If it is not too much trouble, I would love to see them... if they're public record, of course."
A blue-robed human librarian asks, "They are not, but what would you like to know?"
A blue-robed human librarian smiles at Jaired.
Speaking quietly to a blue-robed human librarian, Jaired asks, "It's known that a set of twins is always born and they take over... is there any pattern to whom the twins are born from?"
You pause in introspection, your gaze growing distant with your ponderings.
You remove a pitted brass-hilted craquemarte from in your travel pack.
Be at peace my child, there is no need to fight here.
Thin, black lines of energy creep along the ground before you, heading west.
[Library, West Wing - 9058] (u4747043)
Polished oak cases line the long walls from limestone flooring to white-washed ceiling. Books of every size and shape take up all available space on the rows of shelves, as well as litter several high-backed oak benches at the center of the room. Silvery moonlight spills through the high window to illuminate the library's lone occupant as he sits in quiet study upon the window seat. Glass spheres, filled with lit candles, stand upon iron pedestals at the four corners of the room offering a modicum of light.
Obvious exits: east, northwest
You scream!
You hang the brass-hilted craquemarte from one of the straps on your harness.
You have nothing in your left hand.
Thin, black lines of energy creep along the ground before you, heading east.

You cough.
Jaired asks, "Wait, they both do?"
You join Vyrshkana.
Oliviero seems to move as if influenced by a divine power.
A blue-robed human librarian says, "Though they have been known to have singular children as well in addition to those twins."
Tanai says, "Weird and creepy."
Speaking to Jaired, a blue-robed human librarian says, "Yes, they both do."
Jaired cocks his head.
A blue-robed human librarian comments, "But only one set of twins each."
Speaking to Jaired, Oliviero says, "I have been curious. Next time we see the lad, I'd like to know if his father or mother is a twin."
A blue-robed human librarian says, "Never more."
Jaired nods at Oliviero.
You feel at full magical power again.
Tanai asks, "How close do the sets of twins look to their parent?"
Jaired asks, "Then... is there any pattern as to which set of twins will inherit the estate?"
A blue-robed human librarian says, "Oh they resemble their parents, of course. Just like any other child, I suppose."
A blue-robed human librarian shrugs.
Speaking to Jaired, a blue-robed human librarian says, "Well whichever set is left. They do have an odd family."
A blue-robed human librarian frowns.
Jaired slowly empties his lungs.
Jaired nods.
Speaking to a blue-robed human librarian, Oliviero says, "Many in town seem to think that way."
A blue-robed human librarian says, "I really should not be discussing this at such length with you all, considering the girl's missing and you are not family."
Jaired nods to the human librarian.
A blue-robed human librarian says, "I'll be sure to put up your flier. Have a good evening."
Cinto says, "Thank you for your time, we'll leave quietly."
You say, "This girl here is engaged to the brother."
You point at Tanai.
Tanai says, "Except for that barkeep. Seemed to think the sun shines out of the collective Saxe arses."
You say, "Practically family."
Tanai blinks.
Cythis asks, "Are twins going missing common in this family?"
You elbow Tanai in the ribs in a playful sort of way.
A blue-robed human librarian frowns.
Speaking to a blue-robed human librarian, Oliviero says, "Thank you so much. Please contact the Inspector if you heat anything."
Speaking quietly to a blue-robed human librarian, Jaired says, "Of course. I won't ask you to indulge futher."
Jaired nods to the human librarian.
A blue-robed human librarian nods at Jaired.
A blue-robed human librarian says, "Thank you."
Tanai says, "I'm married, you twit."
You stare at Tanai.
Vyrshkana nods.
Vyrshkana just moved quietly south, with her group following closely.

Vyrshkana just moved quietly west, with her group following closely.
[Solhaven, Triton Road - 1449] (u4209024)

[Market Bridge Bakery - 12808] (u4740048)
Loaves, cookies, pastries and cakes crowd the display cases, and the scents of spices and oven-fresh goods fill the air. The worn oak planks of the floor and the ivory patina of the plaster walls suggest that this is a business of long standing in the port, while the faint trail of floured barefoot prints to and from the kitchen door attest to the natural talents of the staff. However, it also leaves room for speculation as to how many items never reach the display case. You also see the baker Rolly Siphter and a wooden sign.

Speaking to you, Tanai says, "I'm pretty sure the librarian wasn't that dense."
Vyrshkana ponders.
The baker Rolly Siphter carefully places some fresh baked cookies into the display.

Vyrshkana spends some time haggling with Rolly.
Vyrshkana rummages around in her pockets.
The baker Rolly Siphter says, "Hello there, welcome."
Vyrshkana reaches into her plumille coin bag and removes some silver coins.
The baker Rolly Siphter grins.
Vyrshkana exclaims, "Hellowings!"
You praise, "So many lovely sweet."
You smile.
Vyrshkana says, "We's habinged questions for yous if yous habinged time."
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
Speaking to Tanai, Oliviero says, "Buy some baked goods and keep eating."
Vyrshkana says, "But first I's wantinged cake."
Speaking to you, Tanai says, "And that snippy comment didn't hurt my feelings, by the way."
You ask about the price of a frosted Dwarven bundt cake.
You try to engage Rolly in pleasant conversation, hoping to soften him up a bit, but he doesn't appear to be interested in chatting about much besides the price. After some business-like haggling, you settle on a price of 200 silvers.
Rolly says, "Since you're a citizen of this town, I'll drop the price to 180."
You may order a QUANTITY of this item, ORDER something else, or BUY this item.
Vyrshkana spends some time haggling with Rolly.
Oliviero removes a white papyrus flier from in his parchment envelope.
Rolly exclaims, "Sold for 180 silvers!"
Rolly takes the 180 silvers you offer in payment.
He hands you a frosted Dwarven bundt cake and says, "Here's your purchase. Thanks for your patronage."

Tanai squints at you.
Tanai says, "Uh..."
Vyrshkana hums happily to herself.
You say, "You eat it."
Tanai asks, "What did you slip in it?"
Vyrshkana says, "Is goodly cake."
(Daenamaryllis mimes eating the cake.)
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
Tanai sniffs at her Dwarven bundt cake.
Speaking to the baker Rolly Siphter, Oliviero says, "Good evening. We are here hoping you could help us by putting this flier up of this missing Saxe lass. She has been missing for the past few days."
Speaking to Tanai, you say, "A little dwarven bundt."
Looking bored, Jaired drones out a few words in a monotone.
Jaired gestures.
Oliviero waves a white papyrus flier around.
Tanai snickers.
Vyrshkana takes a bite of her Elven chocolate cake.
Tanai takes a bite of her Dwarven bundt cake.
The baker Rolly Siphter takes the flier from Oliviero, glancing over it a moment.
Speaking to Tanai, you say, "Surely you've eaten quite a few dwarven bundts in your day."
The baker Rolly Siphter asks, "Huh, Thanela Saxe is missing?"
Speaking to you, Tanai says, "Shocking as it may be, no."
Jaired nods to Rolly Siphter.
Like embers trapped beneath the grating of a brazier, the ethereal azure flames held hostage within the fabric of your damask dress fitfully brighten and dim with a slow but insistent rhythm.
Speaking to Tanai, you ask, "What about elven bundts?"
You ask about the price of a frosted Elven chocolate cake.

The baker Rolly Siphter hangs the flier up on an empty nail on the wall.
Tanai gobbles down a big bite of her Elven chocolate cake.
Speaking to the baker Rolly Siphter, Oliviero asks, "Have you noticed anything....odd...lately with the family?"
Speaking to Tanai, you say, "If you hold those up your face is wedged between two bundts."
Tanai bursts out in a sudden snort of laughter.
Tanai coughs.
The baker Rolly Siphter glances at Oliviero.
Vyrshkana takes a bite of her Elven chocolate cake.
Speaking to the baker Rolly Siphter, Jaired says, "Also, if you wouldn't mind telling us when you saw her last, if you recall."
You try to engage Rolly in pleasant conversation, hoping to soften him up a bit, but he doesn't appear to be interested in chatting about much besides the price. After some business-like haggling, you settle on a price of 10 silvers.

Tanai gobbles down a big bite of her Dwarven bundt cake.

You offer your plump ginger cookie to Tanai, who has 30 seconds to accept the offer. Click CANCEL to prematurely cancel the offer.
Tanai stares at you.
Speaking to Tanai, you say, "Have a fat red head."
Jaired nods to Rolly Siphter.
Tanai says, "You are seriously odd."
Vyrshkana takes a bite of her Elven chocolate cake.
Speaking to the baker Rolly Siphter, Cythis asks, "HOw as her mood when you saw her last? normal? scared?"
Tanai put a frosted Elven chocolate cake in her spidersilk satchel.
Tanai has accepted your offer and is now holding a plump ginger cookie.
You say, "Oh, not really."
The baker Rolly Siphter says, "Mood? I don't know ... I ... do you want some cookies or something? I can help with that."
You say, "I just enjoy feeding the local wildlife and small animals."
Looks like you'd be pulling back a stump if you did that to Tanai.
Tanai says, "As long as you're paying."
Cythis ponders.
Tanai shrugs.
The baker Rolly Siphter idly fidgets, rubbing away some flour on his clothes.
Speaking to the baker Rolly Siphter, Oliviero asks, "Do you know if she had a falling out with one or both her parents? Maybe that's why she missed their going away?"
Cythis takes a drink from his oak-aged bourbon.
Speaking to Tanai, you soothe, "Such a good girl you are. Ate all your yummy treats like a good girl."
Tanai gestures in a coarse and crudely vile manner.
Tanai says, "Don't push it."
Jaired squints.
Vyrshkana mutters toolate.
The baker Rolly Siphter says, "Not that I'm aware .... last I'd seen Thanela was about five .... six months ago when she was leaving for the Elven Nations."
You ask about the price of a piece of birthday cake.
Putting on a charming smile, you engage Rolly in a negotiation on the price. "You will drive me to ruin!" he exclaims upon hearing your first offer, but he eventually comes down some on his price, to 40 silvers.
Rolly says, "Since you're a citizen of this town, I'll drop the price to 36."
You may order a QUANTITY of this item, ORDER something else, or BUY this item.
Rolly exclaims, "Sold for 36 silvers!"
Rolly takes the 36 silvers you offer in payment.
He hands you a piece of birthday cake and says, "Here's your purchase. Thanks for your patronage."
Speaking to the baker Rolly Siphter, Oliviero says, "She likes sweets. Well, so I heard. She'll be your best customer."
That would accomplish nothing.
Oliviero points at Tanai.
You offer your birthday cake to Tanai, who has 30 seconds to accept the offer. Click CANCEL to prematurely cancel the offer.
Jaired asks, "Ah, was she going to school in the Nations?"
The baker Rolly Siphter says, "I just put out some fresh ginger cookies."
Tanai taps a plump ginger cookie, which is in her left hand.
Tanai asks, "These?"
The baker Rolly Siphter asks, "And I have some wedding cake ... eh? Who's getting married?"
The baker Rolly Siphter nods at Tanai.
Vyrshkana takes a bite of her Elven chocolate cake.
Tanai takes a bite of her plump ginger cookie.
Tanai says, "They taste good. I approve."
You say, "Fresh gingers are the best."
Your offer to Tanai has expired.
Where the hem of your damask dress skirts the ground, brilliant ethereal azure sparks erupt in tendrils that skitter outward and die in wisps of smoke.
Vyrshkana stares at you.
Tanai rolls her eyes.
You innocently ask, "What?"
The baker Rolly Siphter says, "I have some danish too."
The baker Rolly Siphter nods.
Tanai asks, "Do you know much about Lubicio?"
You ask, "Fresh danish?"
You ask about the price of a custard-filled danish.

Rolly exclaims, "Sold for 36 silvers!"
Rolly takes the 36 silvers you offer in payment.
He hands you a custard-filled danish and says, "Here's your purchase. Thanks for your patronage."
You swap a piece of birthday cake to your left hand and a custard-filled danish to your right hand.
Tanai gobbles down her plump ginger cookie in one enormous bite.
The baker Rolly Siphter says, "Sorry, not familiar with that name."
You sniff your custard-filled danish.
It smells like nice, fresh custard-filled danish!
Tanai asks, "Er... Lucibio?"
You take a bite of your custard-filled danish. The layers of pastry dissolve on your tongue.
You have 4 bites left.
Speaking to the baker Rolly Siphter, Oliviero says, "Well, thank you for your time. Please let the Inspector know if you hear anything about her whereabouts."
Tanai asks, "Luchisios?"
You praise, "Very good indeed."
You swap a custard-filled danish to your left hand and a piece of birthday cake to your right hand.

Tanai licks her birthday cake.
Vyrshkana takes a bite of her Elven chocolate cake.
The baker Rolly Siphter nods nervously at Oliviero.
You swap your custard-filled danish from your left to your right hand.
The baker Rolly Siphter says, "Sure, whatever."
Jaired says, "Ladicius."
Tanai says, "Yeah, that."
You take a bite of your custard-filled danish.
You have 2 bites left.
The baker Rolly Siphter says, "Oh, her brother."
Tanai takes a bite of her birthday cake.
Tanai asks, "What's he like?"
The baker Rolly Siphter says, "Look, I don't want any trouble with the Saxe family. I think it's time you leave now. Thank you for your purchases."
Tanai says, "Oh sure, make yourself look extra suspicious."
Vyrshkana nods.
Tanai smirks.
The baker Rolly Siphter frowns.
Vyrshkana says, "Tank oos for de help."
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!

South of here Baron's Bridge arcs over the canal, tying North 'Haven to South and rising high enough to let galleys and barges pass beneath on their way to and from the docks beneath Vornavis. A constant flow of townsfolk moves in both directions over the granite span, occasionally delayed by horse drawn wains hauling loads of sun dried marsh hay from the Marshtown haycribs to the South 'Haven mews.

The occcasional rasping of wagon wheels and clunks of booted feet on stone accompanying the traffic from the north take on hollow undertones as solid ground and cobbled roadway surrender to the timbers and planking of South 'Haven. A bustling tavern with a gated patio and smoked windows rules over one of the scant swathes of solid ground, its entryway clogged with grizzled tradesmen and overfed wenches.

Splitting off from Tidewater Road just short of where the solid ground ends and South 'Haven's supporting wooden platform begins, a narrow causeway extends out into the Bay. Polished brass railings supported by grey marble dolphins run the length of the isthmus, ending at the doors of a gold-spired limestone temple that stands above the waves half a cable's length out in the Bay. You also see a stone house.

Heedless of the rushing waters beneath it, the road rises gently to form an arch over the neck of the Sunderer's Glaive. The smell of salt is sharp in the air, its concentration great enough to peel the coat of fresh paint from the facade of a plank-walled warehouse facing the bay. Clustered about the warehouse's base are stacks of fresh-hewn boards, accompanied by spools of cordage and cable half-covered by canvas tarps.

Half shaded by a canvas awning, the workyard is crowded with an organized disarray of stacked planks of various lengths and kinds of wood. Occupying most of the unshaded side of the yard is a long, plate metal box with pipes connecting it to a small charcoal-fired boiler. Heat radiates from the contraption, and steam leaks from several seams along its sides.

Tanai takes a bite of her birthday cake.
You remark, "What a nice baker man with his fresh gingers that taste good."
Vyrshkana frowns.
Vyrshkana takes a bite of her Elven chocolate cake.
Vyrshkana gazes up into the heavens.
Tanai mutters, "Weirdo."
Arondar wanders in.
Jaired asks, "Did we ever find out where she was going to school?"
Arondar stretches.
Vyrshkana blinks at Arondar.
Vyrshkana exclaims, "Hellowings!"
Tanai looks over at Jaired and shakes her head.
Arondar attends to his net, then glances up at the greeting.
Arondar waves.
Jaired chuckles.
You notice Oliviero moving stealthily into the area.
Jaired says, "...must be slipping, that should have been one of the first questions."
There is no merchant here to order anything from.
Vyrshkana says, "Yous knowinged anyting about Tanela Saxe? Her beinged missinged."
Oliviero joins Vyrshkana's group.
Oliviero seems to move as if influenced by a divine power.
Arondar works his fingers under his olive green hat and scratches his head.
Tanai takes a bite of her birthday cake.
Arondar says, "I uh.."
Tanai takes a bite of her birthday cake.
Tanai belches.
Arondar clears his throat.
Arondar confusedly asks, "Can someone please translate?"
Oliviero removes a white papyrus flier from in his parchment envelope.
You say, "No."
Tanai says, "Tanela Saxe is missing."
You say, "No one can."
Tanai says, "What do you know."
Oliviero shows his flier to Arondar.
Speaking to Arondar, Jaired says, "Excuse the bluntless of the inquiry. We've been tasked to hang up some fliers and inquire after Thanela Saxe. She's gone missing."
Arondar ponders.
Speaking to Arondar, Oliviero says, "This lass is missing."
Arondar says, "Thanela, oh okay."
Tanai says, "Thanela. Whatever."
You feel at full magical power again.
Vyrshkana mutters datwhatissaying.
Arondar says, "Yeah I heard at the tavern that she'd not come home for her visit to the family."
Arondar shakes his head.
Cinto strolls out, leaving a fading trail of azure footprints behind.
Vyrshkana nods.
Arondar says, "Sad to hear that, considering it all."
Speaking bewilderedly to Vyrshkana, you ask, "Who keeps putting you in charge when no one knows what you're saying?"
Vyrshkana asks, "It...all?"
Speaking to Arondar, Oliviero says, "She hasn't been seen coming back from school."
Arondar says, "It's probably a good thing their parents already left is all I'm saying."
Vyrshkana asks, "Is beinged tings we should knowinged? Dat mebbe helpinged find?"
Arondar gets a blank look on his face.
Like embers trapped beneath the grating of a brazier, the ethereal azure flames held hostage within the fabric of your damask dress fitfully brighten and dim with a slow but insistent rhythm.
Arondar glances at Vyrshkana and rubs his chin thoughtfully.
Jaired asks, "If I may ask, why do you say that?"
Arondar cocks his head at Jaired.
Oliviero agrees with Jaired.
Arondar asks, "Hmm?"
Speaking to Arondar, Cythis asks, "Where did the parents go?"
Arondar shrugs at Cythis.
Arondar says, "No idea."
Arondar chuckles.
Arondar says, "Somewhere."
Arondar waves his hand in a dismissive gesture.
Tanai snorts!
Speaking to Jaired, Arondar asks, "Sorry friend, what did you ask again?"
Speaking to Arondar, Oliviero asks, "Why do you think it's a good thing the parents already left?"
Speaking to Arondar, Jaired says, "Why it's a good thing her parents had already left."
Arondar exclaims, "Oh!"
Arondar nods slightly.
Jaired nods at Oliviero.
Arondar says, "Well she was..is.. a good lass."
Arondar says, "Better'n that brother of hers."
Tanai says, "Let me guess. Kind."
Vyrshkana squints.
Arondar says, "Though to be honest.."."
Arondar glances at Tanai.
Arondar says, "Yeah she's a kind lass, I guess."
Arondar says, "Never heard nothin' bad about her anyhow."
Arondar shrugs.
Vyrshkana asks, "An her broder?"
Jaired cocks his head.
Tanai asks, "What's wrong with her brother?"
Jaired nods at Vyrshkana.
Jaired nods.
Jaired nods at Tanai.
Speaking to Arondar, Oliviero asks, "Why do you say that about her brother?"
Arondar responds, "He's a bit of a ladies man, that one."
Tanai snorts!
Arondar scratches at his jawline and shrugs.
Arondar says, "Likes the drink."
Arondar says, "I suppose it caused some embarassment to his folks is all."
You say, "It seems to me something the sister did or has done has changed your opinion of her but you want to give her the benefit of doubt."
Speaking to Arondar, Oliviero asks, "We heard she didn't attend their parents going away. Do you happen to know if he did?"
Arondar says, "Though, to be honest, I always said that a Saxe scandal isn't really a scandal unless somethin' truly bad were to happen. Those folks are upstanding citizens - always have been. Just his drinkin' and womanizin' wasn't gonna truly cause no harm."
Arondar blinks at you.
Speaking to you, Arondar asks, "I'm sorry, you talkin' to me?"
You nod at Arondar.
Arondar glances at you and rubs his chin thoughtfully.
Arondar asks, "What made you think that?"
You say, "You began to say "was" a good girl."
Arondar asks, "Well she's missing, isn't she?"
You say, "But corrected to say "is"."
Tanai takes a bite of her Dwarven bundt cake.
You say, "Was implies she no longer is or you believe she may be dead already."
Arondar says, "Not trying to upset no one but it's likely as not that she's fallen on her way back from them Elven cities."
Arondar shrugs.
Tanai asks, "Know about the blood bond?"
Tanai glances at Arondar.
Speaking to Oliviero, Arondar says, "And I've no idea."
Arondar raises an eyebrow.
Arondar says, "Well no one knows about that."
Arondar chuckles.
Arondar says, "It's just some stupid legend."
Arondar waves his hand in a dismissive gesture.
Tanai looks thoughtfully at Arondar.
Vyrshkana blinks at Arondar.
Oliviero says, "Unless you're a member of the Saxe family."
Arondar says, "Honestly, if you've ever met the Saxes you'd know - they are about the most strict and religious folk around."
Vyrshkana says, "We's not knowinged about dis legend."
Tanai says, "Not necessarily, but enlighten us about the legend."
Jaired nods at Arondar.
Jaired asks, "...which religion?"
Speaking to Arondar, you say, "You are the first to mention them being religious."
Arondar glances at Jaired.
Flames flare at the hem of your damask dress, tumbling in roiling waves upward along the skirt to break against the waist of the bodice, where a calmer tide of ethereal azure fire slithers along the fabric.
Oliviero says, "Maybe the lass isn't so strict or religious."
Speaking simply to Jaired, Arondar states, "Well, Koar of course."
Jaired nods at Arondar.
Jaired says, "Of course."
Jaired adopts an agreeable expression.
You make a horrendous warthog-like noise.
Arondar frowns at Oliviero.
Tanai says, "Bleh. Religion."
Speaking to Oliviero, Arondar says, "That's a might strong statement. That lass was never in no scandals."
Speaking to Arondar, Oliviero says, "People can change their ways."
Tanai wrinkles her nose.
Oliviero says, "Doesn't need to be a scandal behind it. Unless it's something against her."
Arondar says, "The Saxe family has several generations of followers of Koar. They always have."
Arondar shrugs.
Arondar says, "Anyhow, if there's nothin' else I can help with, I'm gonna get going. My day's been long and I've gotta start all over in the morn."
Arondar taps a knotted salt-encrusted net, which is in his right hand.
Jaired nods at Arondar.
Tanai says, "Don't catch any dolphins."
Jaired says, "Of course. Thank you."
Oliviero asks, "Can you keeep this flier?"
Oliviero asks, "And ask around?"
Oliviero offers Arondar a white papyrus flier.
Arondar accepts Oliviero's papyrus flier.
Vyrshkana asks, "Mebbe postinged it here?"
Arondar nods.
Arondar says, "Sure, I'll post it up."
Vyrshkana asks, "So oders can seeinged?"
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
Vyrshkana beams!
Arondar attaches the flier to a stray nail on a nearby pole and nods.
Arondar waves.
Vyrshkana waves.
Arondar wanders off.
Vyrshkana just moved quietly out, with her group following closely.

Heavy-timbered stalls fill this corner of the South Market, where Fishmarket Pier joins the market proper. The offshore breeze thankfully carries most of the odor of the day's catch towards the bay. Supporting stacked sacks of grains along with milled flours and amphorae of domestic and imported oils, the goods being hawked here appear to be of varieties less affected by the fishmarket's ubiquitous bouquet. A catwalk extends to the southwest behind the Market's row of east-facing shops. You also see a small warehouse.

Crowded with booths, merchants hawking their wares, and customers chatting and arguing under the glaes-lensed street lamps, the market is filled with an almost frantic air. Even with the thinning of the crowds that nightfall brings, the market is still a noisy place. Notable amidst the array of bright awnings and wide-windowed storefronts, the largest business on the eastern edge of the market is a blue-stained modwir building with only a few narrow windows set high in the wall. An assortment of ceramic vases, jugs and pots are lined up along the wall under the watchful eye of a rather petulant-looking apprentice. You also see a large iron cart with some stuff on it and a lanky black-haired vendor.

Jaired says, "Perhaps they know where she went to school. It's a pretty big gap in our notes."
Speaking to Tanai, Oliviero says, "The word is polite."
A lanky black-haired vendor peers over at Oliviero.
Tanai snorts!
Cythis adopts an agreeable expression.
There is no merchant here to order anything from.
You take a bite of your custard-filled danish. The layers of pastry dissolve on your tongue.

On the iron cart:
Food/Drink [3]: a fried flounder fishcake, a fried seabass fishcake, a fried swordfish fishcake
Total items: 3
A sales clerk accepts your silvers.
A lanky black-haired vendor grins widely at you and exclaims, "Ya made da best choice in food ya ever did make in yer life, friend! One famous Dibbles' fishcake comin' raaaaaight up!" With a deft flip of his hand, he tosses a fried flounder fishcake from hand to hand, wraps it in a small piece of paper then hands it to you.
You offer your flounder fishcake to Oliviero, who has 30 seconds to accept the offer. Click CANCEL to prematurely cancel the offer.
Jaired gets a distant look in his eyes.
Speaking to a lanky black-haired vendor, Oliviero says, "We're seeking help finding a lass. She's been missing a few days. We're asking around if shop owners would be so kind as to posting these fliers to help find her."
Oliviero waves a white papyrus flier around.
Looking bored, Jaired drones out a few words in a monotone.
Jaired gestures.
Oliviero has declined the offer.
You shrug.
A lanky black-haired vendor nods and reaches out to take the flier from Oliviero.
You take a large bite out of your fishcake, the grease dribbling along the corners of your mouth. Mmm!
Speaking to you, Oliviero says, "Not much of a fishcake person."

Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
Jaired nods to the black-haired vendor.

A lanky black-haired vendor smiles at you.
A lanky black-haired vendor says, "Thanks Miss."
Vyrshkana rummages around in her pockets.

Jaired says, "Well it can be good to break out and stretch ones legs... get to learn new culture."
Speaking to a lanky black-haired vendor, Oliviero asks, "Did she look like she wanted to get away for awhile? Maybe that's why she went to school there?"
A lanky black-haired vendor says, "Maybe. Seems foolish to waste the money."
Jaired asks, "Do you know which city she schooled in?"
Tanai says, "But if you have the money to waste...."
A group of young adults stop by and purchase some fishcakes. Some notice the flier and begin whispering back anf forth about it before moving on.
Vyrshkana takes a large bite out of her fishcake.
You say, "It would have to be Ta'Illistim."
A lanky black-haired vendor gives Oliviero a brief glance before shaking his head.
Speaking to you, Jaired says, "Would rather not assume."
Speaking to Oliviero, a lanky black-haired vendor says, "Not that I know of, no. They travel sometimes to learn new skills. Saxes are well known around these parts as being magically inclined."
Oliviero nods.
Tanai says, "Yeah I bet."
Tanai snickers.
Speaking to Jaired, a lanky black-haired vendor says, "I don't, sorry."
A lanky black-haired vendor shakes his head.
A raggedly-dressed lass lopes by, slowing long enough to whisper, "The smuggler's cutter 'Live Bait' just pulled into Glok's Pier!"
Oliviero says, "I'm curious about the types of magic."
A lanky black-haired vendor nods to a group of customers who approach and excuses himself from the conversation, saying to you all "I'll be sure to tack this up. Need to care for my customers now though, have a good night."
Vyrshkana nods.
Oliviero nods.
Vyrshkana says, "Tank oos for de time."

Vyrshkana waves.
The vendor attaches the flier to the front of his cart and nods, waving.
Vyrshkana blinks.
Vyrshkana ponders.

Vyrshkana just slipped quietly through a butcher's shop, with her group following closely.

Some slabs of freshly butchered meat hang from hooks in the back. A long counter sits off to the side, its surface somewhat clean though noticably used to present bloodied meat during the day. The front windows of the room are pulled open, but a couple brass lanterns have been placed out and lit to provide comfortable lighting. You also see a long sign.

Jaired says, "We only have one stop left on the list."
Oliviero cringes.
You drop a fried flounder fishcake.
Vyrshkana says, "Dis de last shop."
Jaired nods at Vyrshkana.
You mutter, "Garbage."
Vyrshkana says, "But we's take de rest back to de bar."
You gag.
Tanai glances at you.
Oliviero says, "Would hate to know if something happened here."
The butcher frowns and shakes his finger at Daenarmyllis. "Pick that up, Missy."
Tanai smirks.
You say, "Can't make me."
Oliviero removes a white papyrus flier from in his parchment envelope.
You stick your tongue out and let loose with a loud, "Thbtbtbtbt" from your lips!
Vyrshkana takes a large bite out of her fishcake.
Speaking to Oliviero, Jaired says, "We should find out which Elven City she was attending school in. We could place fliers there. It's a long shot but no harm in trying."
The butcher comes from behind the counter and kicks the fishcake over at Daenamaryllis.
Vyrshkana mutters needotuiosboot.
Vyrshkana takes a large bite out of her fishcake.
You abruptly kick at a fried flounder fishcake!
Jaired slowly empties his lungs.
The butcher repeats quietly, "I said pick that up."
Jaired reaches back to make sure his ahmdir blue face-wrap is secured tightly.
Speaking to Jaired, Oliviero says, "I think her brother requested to post in town only and return the rest to him."
Jaired says, "You'll have to excuse my compatriots."
Jaired picks up a fried flounder fishcake.
You flatter, "Make me."
You smirk.
Jaired slips a fried flounder fishcake inside one of the small pouches hanging from his modular leather bandolier.
Jaired glances at you.
Jaired narrows his eyes.
Speaking to Oliviero, Tanai asks, "So you'll do exactly what the brother said and nothing else?"
A subtle stirring of the air about you tugs at the ethereal azure flames enveloping you, teasing thin threads of fire from the damask dress.
The butcher gives Daenamaryllis a long look before turning to Jaired and saying, "Thank you sir."
Jaired reaches up and touches a finger against the edge of his morduska hide hat, tilting it forward.
Jaired says, "We are here on behalf of the Saxes."
(Oliviero says to the Butcher, "We are here to ask if you could help us out by posting this flier of this missing lass. She was suppose to be back in town awhile ago and hasn't returned. We're seeking help about her whereabout.")
Speaking to Jaired, Tanai says, "Don't forget to toss that soon. Otherwise it's going to stink something awful. I doubt Leiana would too thrilled."
Oliviero waves a white papyrus flier around.
Jaired says, "Thanela has gone missing if you've not already heard."
Tanai coughs, "Be."
Speaking to Tanai, Jaired says, "Nah worries."
The butcher responds, "The Saxes.. Yeah I heard about Thanela. Can't imagine most folks don't know by now at least - been a few days I believe. How can I help?"
Speaking to Tanai, Oliviero says, "I respect the property of others."
Jaired nods at Oliviero.
Tanai rolls her eyes.
Oliviero asks, "Can you put this up in your shop?"
Oliviero taps a white papyrus flier, which is in his left hand.
As you close your gauntlet around an urglaes fang, a few sparks of light hiss and crackle at the point of contact.
You retrieve an urglaes fang from one of the concealed pockets lining your plumille cloak.
The butcher takes the flier and glances over it slowly, then nods. "Sure, I can do that.
The urglaes fang releases with a crackle of sparks from your gauntlet.
You drop an urglaes fang.
(Daenamaryllis looks directly at the butcher and drops her urglaes fang on the floor.)
Someone yells, "Hooliganism by Daenamaryllis! Call the Baronial Lieutenant!"
Jaired hums a seemingly random tune.
You say, "Good luck picking that up."
You smirk.
Vyrshkana gazes heavenward.
The Butcher gives Daenamaryllis a smirk and says, "So you're not just up to trouble here, it's all over eh?" A nearby customer remarks, "I heard she tried to bribe a clerk." then clucks her tongue, making a tssk-tssk sound.
Vyrshkana takes a bite of her Elven chocolate cake.
Vyrshkana rummages through a soft mint spidersilk haversack adorned with a web of pale orange-tipped honeysuckle and removes a torn scroll from in it.
Vyrshkana raises her torn scroll and gestures.
Sparks begin to fly between the torn scroll and Vyrshkana's fingers.
With a sudden burst of enthusiasm, the sparks jump into Vyrshkana's hand and she seems to glow with power.
Vyrshkana gestures at an urglaes fang.
The fang suddenly glows with an intensely bright light!
Vyrshkana picks up an urglaes fang.
Vyrshkana put an urglaes fang in her plumille gem pouch.
Jaired agrees with Vyrshkana.
Vyrshkana put a torn scroll in her spidersilk haversack.
Jaired starts chortling.
Vyrshkana sticks her tongue out at you, and lets out with a loud, "Thbtbtbtbt" from her lips!
You mutter, "Spoil sport."
The Butcher says, "I think you folks ought to be going now. Have a good evening and all." as he attaches the flier to the wall and gestures toward the door.
Vyrshkana says, "Not beinged mean to de peoples we's askinged for help."
Vyrshkana nods.
Vyrshkana just moved quietly out, with her group following closely.
[Solhaven, Kraken Run - 1562] (u4902082)
A wooden representation of an oversized rolton steak swings gently in the night breeze beneath a shop's overhang on the south side of the Run. The shop's windows and front door are open and a faint light filters out to the street. Intent on their own business, only a few townsfolk are present on this section of the street, which looks like it sees more activity during the day.

Cradled by the salt-laden flow of the Sunderer's Glaive, the peninsula is lifted above the water by craggy banks of bone-white stone. A trio of townhouses roofed in red tile are surrounded by mosaic walls of granite enclosing the tiny court. Freshly whitewashed and bearing polished brass lanterns beside each door, their bright decor counters the shadows and close confines of the little enclave.

[Solhaven, South Market NW - 1551] (u4902079)
Heavy-timbered stalls fill this corner of the South Market, where Fishmarket Pier joins the market proper. The offshore breeze thankfully carries most of the odor of the day's catch towards the bay. Supporting stacked sacks of grains along with milled flours and amphorae of domestic and imported oils, the goods being hawked here appear to be of varieties less affected by the fishmarket's ubiquitous bouquet. A catwalk extends to the southwest behind the Market's row of east-facing shops. You also see a small warehouse.

[Solhaven, Tidewater Road - 1549] (u4902063)
A mix of boats from peapod and square-sterned skiffs to broad-beamed fishing cutters lie on either side of the road, most of them resting keel upward. Although an aged wall encloses her workyard east of the thoroughfare, the boatwright has a portable workbench set up between Tidewater and the bay and is engrossed in repairing several sprung strakes in the hull of a small pinnace by the light of several lanterns.

Hanging nets, stacked lobster cages, and large wicker maunds are ranged about the intersection, and small wooden stools stand amongst partially mended nets. In a circle of lantern light, an older fellow is busy wrapping a rusted chain around a ground rope, a pile of recently removed wooden bobbins at his feet. You also see a haggard matron.

A battlemented gatehouse on the west side of the road overarches the gateway to Baron's Quay. Clearly a military fortification built to guard the mouth of the Vornavis Canal, a closed portcullis -- well-lit by lanterns -- and four guards prevent anyone not wearing Vornavis Guard livery from entering. Tidewater Road turns inland to avoid the small backwater built in the lee of Baron's Quay.

To the north beyond Bayside Road and Charl's Quay, the timbers of the Market Bridge stretch across the waters of the bay from North 'Haven to Marshtown. South along the waterfront, piers and quays are visible reaching out into the ocean, while beyond them the naked timbers of the shipyard and the stilted warehouses nearby can be made out.

Bayside Road either begins or ends here on the north bank of the Vornavis Canal, depending on whether you're heading northeast or south, and gulls hover constantly, scanning the pavement and the waters for anything edible. South of here Baron's Bridge arcs over the canal, tying North 'Haven to South and rising high enough to let galleys and barges pass beneath on their way to and from the docks beneath Vornavis. A deserted quay juts into the water of the bay to the northwest. You also see a stooped old woman and an arched gate.

Tarred pilings and a stone block wall shore up Bayside Road and stand against the constant action of the waves. This section of Bayside is windier than most, since nothing slows the winds from the west and the expanse of Liabo Plaza to the east provides no obstructions. An old sailor sits on a wooden bench facing the bay, oblivious to the wind and to passersby. You also see a high canvas tent.

Flames flare at the hem of your damask dress, tumbling in roiling waves upward along the skirt to break against the waist of the bodice, where a calmer tide of ethereal azure fire slithers along the fabric.
Haelly pets a sleek blue-eyed black cat, which nuzzles her hand softly.
Speaking to a sleek blue-eyed black cat, Haelly says, "Yes you are."
The blue-eyed black cat purrs.
Haelly grins.
Speaking to Vyrshkana, Haelly says, "Thanks. I'll take those."
Tanai squints at Haelly.
Jaired asks, "Hey, can I see one of them fliers?"
Haelly says, "Sure."
Haelly nods.
Speaking to Haelly, Tanai says, "I have a question for you."
Speaking to Haelly, Oliviero says, "I'm forgetful with the names. Has the lad returned from talking to the Inspector. I have extra fliers to give back."
Oliviero removes a white papyrus flier from in his parchment envelope.
Your black acorn amulet continues to glow sanguine.
Oliviero offers Jaired a white papyrus flier.
Jaired accepts Oliviero's papyrus flier.
Haelly says, "Ladicius? No, I'll take the extras."
Haelly nods at Oliviero.

Haelly asks, "A what?"
Haelly blinks at Tanai.
Tanai says, "An affection."
Oliviero shakes his head.
Haelly blushes a soft apricot hue to the tops of her ears.
Tanai says, "That's what I thought."
(Jaired makes a quick sketch of the flier in his sketchbook.)
Haelly protests, "No, that's ridiculous to ask."
Jaired offers Haelly a white papyrus flier.
Haelly accepts Jaired's papyrus flier.
Tanai says, "Too late. You blushed."
Tanai says, "I'm not judging, I was just curious."
Haelly says, "He's a Saxe. There'd be no point."
With a sudden flash of insight, you realize you now understand more of what you have experienced.....
Tanai asks, "Why, because he's from a prominent family?"
Haelly says, "They don't marry outside of their chosen."
Haelly shakes her head.
You remark, "Probably because he has a sister complex."
Haelly says, "And I'm definitely not a chosen."
Jaired sighs at you.
Tanai asks, "Who is part of the chosen?"
Speaking to Tanai, Oliviero says, "Do you? You said you own a shop here earlier. Perhaps you have an involvement with all of this."
Speaking to Oliviero, Tanai asks, "Do I what?"
Haelly shrugs at Tanai.
Speaking to Tanai, Oliviero says, "Affection."
Tanai bursts out in a sudden snort of laughter.
Tanai says, "Charl's crotch, that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard."
Haelly blinks at Tanai.
Haelly giggles.
Haelly put a white papyrus flier in her parchment envelope.
Haelly just closed a small parchment envelope.
Speaking to Haelly, Tanai says, "Just so you know, anything can happen. Even not being chosen."
Haelly smiles at Tanai.
Haelly says, "You're sweet, but that's just not how things work in life."
Like embers trapped beneath the grating of a brazier, the ethereal azure flames held hostage within the fabric of your damask dress fitfully brighten and dim with a slow but insistent rhythm.
Oliviero says, "Someone involved would say something like that."
Speaking to Haelly, Tanai says, "Until they do."
Jaired agrees with Tanai.
Speaking to Haelly, Vyrshkana asks, "Yous knowinged what school Tanela goinged to?"

Speaking to Haelly, Vyrshkana asks, "Mebbe contactinged dems an findinged out when she leabinged?"

Haelly chuckles.
Looking bored, Jaired drones out a few words in a monotone.
Jaired gestures.
A sleek blue-eyed black cat says, "She said earlier that she went to school in Ta'Illistim."
Speaking to Vyrshkana, Haelly says, "I'm sure he's already done that but it's the Ta'Illistim guild."
Jaired says, "The Mage's Guild."
Jaired nods slowly.
Haelly nods.
Vyrshkana nods.
Vyrshkana ponders.
Jaired casually glances around the room.
Haelly asks, "So there's a meeting tomorrow night for the Inspector to gather information. You folks gonna come by?"
Cythis nods.
Jaired nods at Haelly.
Oliviero nods at Haelly.
Tanai asks, "Will there be cake?"
You say, "Im sure I'll be out of jail by then."
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
Speaking to Tanai, Oliviero says, "We'll make sure to have some just for you, Hooligan."
Haelly says, "Uh..sure I can probably get some from Rolly."
Haelly nods at Tanai.
Tanai adopts an agreeable expression.
Tanai nods at Haelly.
Speaking dryly to you, Jaired asks, "One can hope, yeah?"
Haelly blinks at you.
Haelly whispers aloud, "Jail?"
You say, "There was that librarian though."
You say, "Might have to add more charges."
Speaking to Oliviero, Tanai says, "I'll be sure and give you a nice shiner in return."
Haelly surreptitiously glances at you.
The glowing specks of energy surrounding Oliviero suddenly shoot off in all directions, then quickly fade away.
Haelly says, "Alright, so the meeting's at nine. Inspector Cogsmead is never late I'm told so be sure to be on time."
Oliviero seems a bit less imposing.
Jaired nods at Haelly.
Jaired says, "We'll be here."
Tanai says, "Don't forget the cake."
Haelly gratefully says, "Thanks for the help tonight. Maybe we'll find her soon."
Jaired put a dark brown leather-bound sketchbook in his black leather hip-satchel.
Haelly nods at Tanai.
Cythis agrees with Haelly.
Speaking to Haelly, Oliviero says, "Hopefully."
Haelly says, "Sure thing."
Your mithril platemail shifts out of place and feels somewhat more restrictive.
Cythis waves.
The misty halo fades from you.
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
Vyrshkana waves.
Tanai's face breaks into a cheeky grin.
Banjar waves.
Cythis says, "See you all tomorrow."
Banjar exclaims, "Bye!"
Vyrshkana nods emphatically!
Vyrshkana disbands her group.
Tanai renders a sharp hand salute.
Haelly waves, says "Goodnight!" and then gets back to her work.
You hear very soft footsteps.
Banjar joins Cythis's group.
Tanai just went northeast.
You comment, "Off to the library."
Jaired says, "Good times."
You hum a disjointed, angry little tune.
Cythis waves.
